This place was close to our hotel so we stopped in for a late lunch yesterday. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. I ordered a Jalapeno Margarita and my wife ordered a Hibiscus Margarita. Both were exceptional. For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Tinga Classic Crispy Tacos and my wife ordered the Chicken "Tejano" Fajita. The bartender also brought us an order of Beans and Rice to share, which was nice. The food was fantastic. I would consider this a high end Mexican restaurant. We liked the decor and dim lighting. We noticed that there was a private room that can be closed off with curtains. This would be great for a small group. The restaurant also has a nice patio area.

Came here recently and enjoyed the experience. Service was nice and the inside is also nice, I love the dishware they had set out on the tables it was colorful and almost authentic looking. The queso was amazing!!! It was thick just the way I like it and came out hot. The ensalada superica was good, but wish it came in a bowl so it was easier to eat. My friend really liked his shrimp tacos, we both got full pretty fast. I got the pomegranate marg and he got the OG, they were both very strong!! Food was a tad pricey. Overall: decent spot in the Gulch for a cool vibe, great queso, strong drinks, and good service

HOLY MOLY this meal was delicious! I went for a work lunch with my team and wow was I impressed. I got the lunch special that came with a chicken taco, enchilada and a tostada. Everything was flavorful, perfect amount of food and hit the spot! Their chips and queso was phenomenal as well. Our server was LB and he was very attentive and helpful with navigating the menu as it was most of our first time here. The restaurant is definitely perfect for a lunch or dinner date. Parking is minimal outside the building but there is street and garage parking nearby. I definitely would return.

Verdict: Friendly service. Great decor and space. Hands down best Tex-Mex fajitas in town. But the drinks have never been our favorite. I always feel like I need to preface reviews on Mexican restaurants with the fact that we grew up eating Tex-Mex. With that being said, these are the best fajitas in town and some of the best I've ever had. We've been several times and keep coming back for that combo alone. As for the rest of the food... The queso is ok, but nothing to write home about. The green salsa is great, but I've never been a fan of warm red salsa. The hate on the margs is going to sound weird but... they're too heavy on the tequila. The problem is, it's not good tequila, so it just takes away from the flavor. On the upside, our kid loved the chicken quesadilla from the kids' menu--so at least one of us had a 5 star experience. At the end of the day, you come for the fajitas and tortillas --they are more than worth it, even if everything is on the pricier side.

Superica was fantastic! One of my biggest pet peeves of more upscale Mexican restaurants is having to pay for chips and salsa, but luckily, Superica does not skip this (in my mind) crucial part of ordering Mexican food! They even brought out several different salsas and sauces; each one was excellent! We also could not have ansked for better service! Our server was attentive and had amazing energy. I usually don't stray far from my local taco truck, but the steak fajitas were unlike anything I had tried before. My partner and I shared the large portion, and there was more than enough for the both of us. It was cooked perfectly medium rare! The only downside of our experience was the portions offered for family servings of rice and beans are smaller than I would have thought (I'd say better for two people than a table). However, the rest of the food/experience more than makes up for this. Can't wait to come back and try more options!

Wow! Stopped by here after a show at the Jazz bar and every bite is perfection. The avocado tomatillo salsa with the smoked chicken nachos might be one of my most favorite bites ever...well until I had the tres leches, amazing! Elevated and approachable Mexican, a must stop in Nashville. Lovely service from Michael on a Sunday evening, also. We'll definitely be back next time we are in town.

We made a reservation for 2 people at 5:30 Pm on a Sunday. We were seated immediately and Michael was our server. He got us drinks right away. Don't waste your time with the mango margarita it wasn't good. My husband had a Dos Equis. I ordered the tacos Al pastor. I must say I have eaten a large amount of tacos Al pastor in my life and these BY FAR were the best. They were crunchy & flavorful. I had them add cilantro to mine though. My husband had birria tacos and he said he would have ordered them again. The only negative about the experience was there was a really loud drunk table because of country music fest but the restaurant couldn't help that obviously. Nice date night ambiance.

This was supposed to be guacamole.

The take out portion of fajitas was small and overpriced. I am unable to comment on the decor but the order was ready on time. I would not recommend takeout for this location, but dining might be worth it.

We celebrated a friend's Bachelorette while in Nashville & Superica was the perfect dinner location! Highly recommend making a reservation. The fajitas were a large portion and the fresh side ingredients made them perfect. Our server was very kind and attentive. There are plenty of drink options and various margaritas. Everything was delicious and hope to return again.

Cheese Enchiladas swimming in chili sauce

What once was one of the best Mexican restaurants in Nashville is now highly disappointing. My family and I have been enjoying this restaurant for years, however, on our last visit we discovered that the menu had changed as well as how the food is prepared and presented. The new menu is much smaller now, some of which we ordered regularly is no longer available. The food that we were able to order was presented poorly and taste different than what was served in the past. One of us ordered a simple cheese enchilada entree only to have it arrive drowning in so much chili sauce that it was nearly to the very edge of the plate almost spilling over! And the taste was horrible. (See photo). Their salsa that is served with their complementary chips is as thin as water. Such a disappointment. Also, the service is at best mediocre. This will be our family's final trip to Superica in Nashville. It's hard to understand why they would make such poor changes to their menu and food when it was so great before. New owners??? New management??? Who knows, but it's terrible now.

Superica has been on my "must-try" list for a hot minute, and I'm so glad I finally had a chance to check them out! This trendy Tex-Mex spot is located in the Gulch, and there's some street parking available nearby, along with a few garages. My friend and I arrived for an early lunch right when they opened at 11. This seems like a great spot for a large group, and the menu is expansive, so you're sure to find something for everyone to enjoy. Our waiter was friendly, and offered some great recommendations for our first time dining in. The salsas and chips they brought out first were delightfully fresh and crisp. We also ordered some Queso Fundido, which is a fun shareable at any time of day. It comes with tortillas, but we ended up primarily dipping our chips. For lunch, we went with the special, which is plenty of food for the price of $15! You select two items from a variety of options (tacos, enchiladas, etc.) and it's served with rice and beans. I went with a crispy avocado soft taco, and a chicken verde enchilada. Both were tasty, and the portion size is big enough that I was able to take home leftovers!

    Pork belly carnitas fajitas
    Dwight O.

Nice big restaurant with a solid menu. Started with a great app...Quso Fundido with chorizo. It's served with fresh, hand made tortillas which are some of the best I've had since fleeing CA. Half the table had Fajitas while the other half enchiladas. I had the pork belly fajitas and they were a 10 out of 10. My daughter had the steak ones and they were also a solid 10. The enchilada folk both cleaned their plates as well. As is standard for any Mexican restaurant, complimentary chips and salsas started the night with a green and warm red salsa. Tortilla chips were a perfect thin and crispy. We all had drinks, mine was the Highwayman (mezcal old fashioned). Drinks were good but my standard for a Mexican restaurant is a Negra Modelo and I should have just ordered one instead. There is a small attached parking lot as well as a pay public garage right across the way. Walked away feeling that quality ingredients make a quality meal. Thanks Superica!

Salsa - salsa verde was delicious!!

We were in Nashville for the day and got there right when it opened so it wasn't super busy. Sat at the bar and had delicious margaritas! We ordered the Queso Fundido which was very salty so we only ate a couple of bites. We split the Chicken Fajitas which came out quickly and sizzling (such a great sound!) and we thought they were very good and plentiful for 2 people. Again - didn't get a feel for the vibe because it was brunch on a Sunday but I'm sure it's cool.

Everything we had was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. We wanted a booth but were told it was reserved even though no one was ever sat in it, but the table by the windows was nice to watch the nightlife go by. We started with the salsa trio, guacamole, and chips. I loved having a variety of spice levels for everyone at the table, and the guacamole was easily one of the best I've ever had. It was incredibly fresh, with the perfect balance of heat and salt and just the right amount of chunky avocado. Even the chips were perfect! For our main course, I ordered the cauliflower tacos with rice and refried black beans to split with my daughter-in-law, while my son ordered the chicken tinga enchiladas. My daughter-in-law also had the soup of the day which was a poblano pepper cream-based soup. She said it was very good. The cauliflower tacos were the star of the meal for all of us. Whatever combination of flavors they use is absolute perfection. If I hadn't filled up on the guacamole and chips, I would have ordered another one. I'll seriously be dreaming about those tacos! Even though we were completely stuffed, we couldn't resist trying the queso flan for dessert, and I'm so glad we did. It tasted just like the flan my Tia makes in Puerto Rico. Absolutely out of this world! From beginning to end, everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. If you're in Nashville and looking for a great authentic restaurant, this place is an absolute must-try. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town! It's upbeat, casual, and a great place to grab a meal before heading out around downtown Nashville. You can tell this is a place that's meant to be fun while still taking the food seriously. If you're visiting Nashville and looking for great tacos, good drinks, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend Bakersfield. It's an easy 5-star experience for me, and I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in Nashville!

Tacos are excellent (and thank you for the choice of corn tortillas), meats are flavorful, the drink choices hit the spot, and the service and laid-back ambiance are spot-on. (A big shout out to the more obscure classic rock and blues that they play.) The salsa bar provides a nice variety of flavors to add to the meal. The only problem? They don't have a location closer to West Nashville. Alas.

We decided to go after church on Sunday to try it out for ourselves! Visited around 9:45/10am on Sunday. Lots of seating outdoor and indoor! The people working there were all super nice and seemed happy to be there. The restaurant was clean and had beautiful decor. You order at the counter and they bring out the food to you. We ordered the family style pancake, which was massive. Think as big as a pizza and there was not only one but two of them! The pancake itself was delicious, warm, fluffy and perfectly cooked. My only critique was with the syrup. It's promoted as buttermilk syrup but it tasted like strait caramel/butterscotch. Think of those little butterscotch hard candies. This was the only disappointing part, I was looking forward to a light buttermilk syrup to melt into the pancake but it was heavy and had way too much flavor. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu! Super cool place and a great atmosphere. Also, they have their own parking lot with lots of spaces! So helpful.
