Not even close to what I was expecting. The two owners came greeted me and took all my info and came back with their price which was way cheaper than the others. I asked how the work was going to be performed and they were very explicit in there response. After all the work was done my price was cheaper than told, I asked why and they replied the parts were less than quoted! They replaced the Rack and Pin. Assbly. along with two power steering hose. They also made a recommendation that a gasket and oil pan needed to be replaced. I drove it 8 miles and when I pulled into the Driveway smoke was coming out of the hood. About a 1.5 years ago I had a problem with the drivers seat not latching and staying upright. Tech Auto was recommended and Todd had it looked at and fixed it and didn't charge me anything. So when I had this problem with the smoke I had the car towed in. Todd told me the two power steering hoses were installed incorrectly and fixed that along with replacing all the power steering fluid. He also replaced an oil pressure switch which was wear the oil was coming from not a gasket or the oil pan. The radiator cap was missing and they found it down in the engine and replaced the coolant which was wear the smoke was coming from. I will never take my car anywhere else but to Tech Auto. Todd was HONEST, EFFICENT, AND HIS PRICES were very fair. Since this has happened I've told some people about my experience and I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from people I know that also have their car worked on at #TECH AUTO of Hamden 55 Connolly Pkwy.

I scheduled an appointment, but then accidentally no-showed it due to a household communication breakdown so I didn't have the vehicle. When I called back weeks later to reschedule, there was zero guilt-tripping. No passive-aggressive comments. Just patience and understanding, and we set a new date. The work itself was excellent. They repaired the rim same-day so I wouldn't have to buy an entirely new one, handled the tire mount and balance, and the alignment. The cost was a tiny fraction of what the Porsche dealer quoted, and the car drives flawlessly again. However, what stands out most is how these guys operate when things get a bit complicated. The day of the appointment, I showed up a little late after dropping my daughter to daycare. Then I failed to mention at dropoff that I needed the car back by 5:15 to pick her up in Orange. By the time I did share that constraint, it was already 3pm. I went into worst case scenario planning mode and showed up to just grab the car seat from their shop at 4:30 and figure out the rest by getting an uber. When I arrived, they told me they had put two techs on the car after I called, and the car was already finished. I was, and still am, blown away by how they went above and beyond to help me when it was my mistake. That showed to me that these are people who care about their customers. I have not found a shop more considerate, hardworking, or accommodating. I will definitely be back.
