We share a large driveway with our neighbor, and we both have pavers on our walkways, so it was a large job. Several of our pavers had to be reset because of large redwood tree roots shifting them. When looking to reseal our pool deck, we called around and compared services and ratings, and were impressed by Superior Clean & Seal's solid reviews. We worked with Raylene (daughter of Art, the owner), who works out of El Dorado Hills. She was responsive in setting up an initial consultation, and working with us on selecting an appropriate seal color and finish for our pool deck. She was prompt on the day scheduled, and the work was performed satisfactorily in mid-July, 2021. Once it had dried, however, we noticed some drips along some vertical edges where the stain had dripped down and dried. We immediately contacted Raylene, who understood the issue, as well as described how she would be able to fix it. It sounded like a straightforward fix, and would likely only take her a couple of hours, so we agreed to schedule a time when she could fit it in when she was working in our area. The attached photo was sent to Raylene as soon as we noticed it, and this same sort of issue appears in a few other areas around our pool, as well. We attempted to line our schedules up a couple of times, but either she needed to reschedule, or we were out of town on travel, so the first couple of attempts feel through. We continued to exchange texts over the next couple of months, and there were various reasons given as to why she was not yet able to schedule a certain time. We increased our outreach beginning in early October, and got the sense that we were not getting her attention. There were vague promises to get back to us on a proposed time, or no response at all to texts and messages left on her phone. Finally, we left a fairly terse message indicating that we were running out of patience, which resulted in a call back a few minutes later, promising to fit us in over the next day. That was last supposed to be last Thursday, October 7th. She did not show up, nor was there any call or even indication that she would not be able to, or attempts to reschedule. At this point, we've pretty much given up that this situation will get addressed, and are resorting to this negative review on Yelp. While many others are pleased with their work, we just wanted to let you know that not everyone has been satisfied. read more

I would give this business 10 stars if I could!! Art showed up exactly on time. He power washed our driveway, front walkway, the pavers and stone inside our entryway gate and the stone on the back patio. I don't ever remember the stone looking so good! We wanted to keep it amazing-looking so we decided we needed Art to re-sanded and seal it. Art was so patient with us! He came back the very next Thursday and completed the job. He used polymeric sand and a low gloss sealer. The stone is absolutely beautiful. This polymeric sand is incredible. It will not wash or blow away. Leaves and dirt will no longer get stuck between the pavers. Weeds will not grow up between the stone. And the sealer will help prevent the pavers from staining again. I had concrete poured earlier this year and during the winter months it got a black mold color because it wasn't sealed. I tried to clean it myself with an Etch cleaner and the concrete became blemished and blotchy. I didn't know what to do. I talked with Art with Superior Clean and Seal and he assured me it would look better. Josh and Mike came today and they cleaned, stained and sealed it. While the company was responsive to my request for service, the end result was less than satisfactory. I explained that I had seen some leaking and was seeking sealing to address that issue. The power washing and subsequent sealing (reportedly Valspar) actually worsened the leaking, probably because existing (old) mortar and caulking was loosened/disrupted. When I reached out to the owner, Mike Birch, I was told power washing doesn't cause leaks and they were closed for the winter...sorry this happened to me. So I don't see the value! I spent $ for a result I did not get. The area treated looked nicer but performed worse. If all you want is cosmetic, maybe it's worth it... maybe. Mike is also arrogant and dismissive. read more

Art and his assistant arrived at 7:40 AM to clean and seal our pavers. From the time of arrival until complete both worked hard to get the job done in one day. Art even traveled to Concord to find the right sand for resending the existing pavers. The finished product is outstanding. I have had this work performed every three years and this was the best yet. Art was very responsive to my initial calls, answered all my questions, came and looked at our job and gave me a quote in couple of days as he promised. My brick patio is really clean for the first time in 20 years. Every other company told me that the brick could not be cleaned and I should replace it with pavers. Superior has a great machine that uses hot water and scrubs the brick to clean up all of the dirt and moss. The brick is red again! It came out awesome so after some winter water quit leaking on my upper and flagstone patios, they came out and finished my backyard. Our pavers were dull and we had gaps in the sand grout. We saw an ad in one of the Home Magazines and took advantage of a 10% coupon. We checked out the reviews, which were excellent, and hired them. Results were awesome! Art and his daughter did the work. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. Pricing was very reasonable and end result was impressive! Pavers looked better than new. Used Superior Clean and Seal last spring (2016) for our concrete and flagstone hardscape. The owners are very pleasant but overall I was quite disappointed with the outcome. First, an acid stripper was applied to a section of my flagstone without my permission, this resulted in permanent damage to the concrete surrounding the flagstone (no acknowledgment or apologies were ever offered).The first coat of sealant never took on the damaged portion of the concrete/flagstone so they had to come out again to reseal. The remainder of the hardscape had a 'sealed appearance' for a few months after the initial work, but that quickly dissipated and the dull appearance on the concrete and flagstone returned before the summer was over. Again, the owners are lovely but I truly feel the service was a waste of money. Even worse, every time I see the damaged section of our flagstone, I cringe. Thank goodness summer is here and we have patio furniture over it! read more
