This review is only for the DMV kiosk. The kiosk stole my money, everything was entered correctly for vehicle registration, I used cash, the kiosk accepted $120 of my cash and then it stopped working. The machine timed out and cancelled the transaction!! But kept all of my money. I called the number from the machine which was a 2 hour wait time, they are supposed to send a check out in 10 days. I will see. DMV toll free number will be of no help if your money is not returned. read more

I don't understand the low ratings of this place. It's my first time in a Mexican supermarket this size. The place is neat although I wish they put their pan dulce individually wrapped so it's not completely exposed to the public. The bread was located by the automatic doors too for .99 cents each. I am unsure of the cost of Spanish food but I guess that seems reasonable. The store is neat, spacious and clean which is very important. They also seems to sell almost anything Spanish you need. If you ever needed a reason to get up early and go shopping, try going to this market during the afternoon. I promise you, you will not do it again. As much as I like shopping here, anytime after 10-11am is a nightmare. The lines stretch down the aisles. That is probably my only gripe about it.....oh and having to bag my own groceries. That part blows but not enough to bad mouth the store about it. The vegetables and fruit are plentiful and affordable, dare I say cheap. I get the circular in the mail every week and I always look in that section first. Gotta have the fruit and veggies in your diet. What isn't on sale this week just might be nest week. Be patient. The meat section is WHOA! This is the BBQ meat headquarters. Every time I walk in this section, I immediately start thinking of how I'm going to cook it (grill or oven). Should I smoke the ribs low & slow or bake chicken. Looking for any part of a chicken, cow or pig, I'm sure they have it fresh and at a great price. I like this store as an alternative to my regular grocers. They got the self-checkout service now which is convenient, but like Ralph's market nearby, most of the time I use the self-checkout service the machine bleeps to get the attendant's attention. I did it correctly, so why did the machine act up, I think its because the attendant has control of the system and at a press of a button they can caution the machine, causing the help of an attendant, jokes on me. I love shopping here for my groceries. However, I didn't have a pleasant experience today. While I was paying at the self checkout, I saw someone next to me needed assistance. He called over an employee, Francisca. She seemed to hear him and not pay attention to him. He said "excuse me" multiple times and she continued to ignore him. Another lady came to assist him. A few moments later, I needed assistance while paying, I asked the nearest employee, who happened to be Francisca, and she looked at me about 4 times and looked away. She seemed to be looking for something else to do instead of walking over and helping. After 4 or 5 times of asking for assistance, she walked over and put her code on the self checkout kiosk. I usually enjoy coming here for the customer service and quality of products, but I'm not sure what happened during this visit. read more

Rignt next to every other places we shopped at in this area of Baldwin Hills. I tried this Superior Grocery store, and they are much nicer and better than many locations I have been too. Not my first time here tho. I have stopped here a few times, and I was happy. store is pretty big. Lots of produce and good stuff here. I love the deli areas. Customer service was good. My concern is while she was at the register her management was MICROmanaging her register and not allowing her to do her job at a timely manner. Please allow this HUMAN to be a person and not a timesheet. She has obligations for other roles. It's a Friday afternoon and her managers aren't concerned of her well being. So I've gotten groceries from here via delivery. I also got a lot of deli food like fried chicken, hot wings, and chicken bites. The food from the deli seemed old, either it had sat all day or was from the day before. Most of the chicken meat was super dry and super hard, pretty much inedible. Genuine authentic niceness from the minute you are greeted at the entrance, to the amazing butcher, to the cashier who diligently wipes everything down while asking you how you are AND MEANS it! You can feel the difference, ya know? Not to mention how great the prices and selection are in the produce and meats. I over heard a customer asking a gentleman stocking items if he had a pen she could use, not only did he say yes he smiled and said, "it's yours!" Despite the fact this market has been on my route of travel for years, I have never been inside. I decided to go in there for some Pan Dulce. Yeah you have to be a fan of this Mexican sweetbread otherwise don't bother. The market looked ample and I did notice security guards around, unarmed. I did not think it was very busy. Parking was a breeze. I went in close to 9pm on a week nite. So I ran in there and it was the fastest transaction ever. The Pan Dulce was just inside in a cabinet to the left. I grabbed up several pieces and I was able to pay for it right there at the bakery counter. I was in and out of the place in less than two minutes for a total of three dollars. The bread was fresh and I did enjoy it the next morning with my coffee. I don't know where this craving came from but possibly from the recent experience over the holidays where someone had some Pan Dulce and I wanted to experience it again. I've never felt that this particular area was completely safe and maybe that's why I hadn't stopped here in the past but did have a craving and I did not feel unsafe at all. I could see myself going back there for more of this sweet bread. The market looks very safe clean and very well-stocked. read more

Terrible experience here. Store was very unorganized. Half of the "fresh" vegetables were moldy. There a lot of registers unoccupied. 3 registers were "open" but only 1 of them had the service light on which was the longest lane of course. I asked the other 2 if they were open they said no. I couldn't do self check out because I had a three pack of beer. So instead of buying the beer I left it and used self check out. When I asked if someone can open up a register they just laughed and walked away. Never coming back here again. Store looks so outdated. I'm not one to leave a bad review but this store deserves it. We do a lot of our shopping here. You can say it's your local Latino market. Alhough you can find a lot of food Latinos would eat, it also lacks a lot of food other super markets carry. It seems like their specials start every Wednesday. I know that their bananas are fresh every Wednesday. They do sell pan dulce, which is ok if you're in the mood for certain sweet breads. They also have a meat section, but you can find some good specials from time to time. Their cheese and ham area also sells fried chicken (not that good) for a cheap price. Their customer service varies, depends on who you are dealing with or how they are dealing that day. read more

Would pass this market on my way to Hollywood, so thought I'd check it out. It's a large, very clean supermarket that opened within the last year or so. From their weekly flyers I get in the mail, I thought it would be a Hispanic market. They may be, and they do have a variety of ethnic brands and goods, but this one at least has enough variety of brands that it could pass as a standard supermarket. But the prices are much better than your Ralphs or Vons, especially the veggies and fruits section and the meat department. So much so that if I ever want to have friends over for a barbecue I'd make my way over here first. Their produce definitely is a good reason to stop by, I got 5 avocados for a dollar. Granted, they were small, but that still beats Sprouts prices. Mangoes and peaches, fresh quality, super cheap. Stuff I buy all the time for my smoothies so I know that they're less expensive here. Also, they've got a huge self service Bulk Foods section as you walk in, one that would give Sprouts a run for their money. Besides their trail mix, nuts, beans, grains, etc. variety this place has a make your own peanut butter (natural and roasted) and almond butter machines. Also Jelly Belly bins! Sheer brilliance, and enough to at least check this place out once. Good enough to make this a once a week place for your grocery shopping needs. read more

I live close to El Super and Superior Market here in Highland Park. Ive purchased the carne asada (Mexican marinated beef skirt steak) and the one from El super has much more flavor. Superior carne asada had no flavor at all from their marinade. Also the bolillos (Mexican French style rolls) from El super taste better. Unfortunately Superior bread is flavorless, but my favorite bolillos are in Vallarta market. Also the prices are much lower in El Super than in Superior. I compared prices to a few items I usually buy. So El Super is going to be my go to Mexican style market when I can't get to Vallarta in Pasadena. read more

I love this store. The employees are friendly and the produce is great and inexpensive. I won't buy the meat, however. Ever since I saw several chickens that had greenish areas, I avoid the meat section. Other than that, I really like this store. It's clean, well-stocked, and the prices are wonderful! Plus, they actually have REAL security guards, unlike Ralphs across the street. This isn't a great neighborhood, and having security guards who actually do their jobs is great! (Also, you can get your own shampoo, deodorant, etc...Ralphs has to lock up that stuff because crack heads are ripping off EVERYTHING. I love this place because the prices are super cheap. They also have specials on Wednesdays on select fruits. Unfortunately I don't go here often because I don't live close to there otherwise I would be there every time I needed something from the market. I brought almost 7 types of fruits at different weights and only paid $14 at check out. Sometimes it seems like a magical price. Haha. The stores are super large and some of them actually replaced Albertsons. They have fresh bread and their stores smell very sweet from the bakery. The store was also very organized which is great! I went to Superior Groceries to purchase tickets for the LA Fair for a discounted fare. Before I walked away I read the tickets and saw that it read it that it had to be used by 7 oclock mind you it's either almost 7 or 7 already. I brought it to the he cashier's attention and she started to give me a refund then she turns behind her and ask the other cashier to assist her. The coworker who's name is Maria states that it says no refunds. I then ask to speak with the manager. She calls the managers over the phone and he says the same thing. I then asked for corporate's number. He gave me a number that when I called it went to maintenance and IT. I am a professional but in this instance I was the customer and your cashiers should know about the products that they are selling. It's not fair that I should be stuck with the tickets that I can't use. read more
