Hi everyone, I wanted to share a frustrating experience I recently had at the Superior Market in Lynwood. Despite bringing a serious service issue to the manager's attention, the situation was not addressed, and no effort was made to resolve the inconvenience caused by the staff's lack of professionalism. I hope the store takes steps to improve their customer service standards soon. Subject: Formal Complaint: Poor Customer Service at the city of Lynwood Ca. Dear Regional Director, I am writing to bring to your attention a very unpleasant experience I had at the Superior Markets located in Lynwood Ca. yesterday, 03/22/2026 in the afternoon hours. As a frequent customer, I appreciate the weekly coupons provided through your app. However, during this visit, I encountered a significant issue while trying to use them. When I asked a staff member for assistance with the app, my simple request was met with extreme rudeness and a complete unwillingness to help. The staff member's dismissive attitude was disappointing and made what should have been a routine shopping trip incredibly frustrating. I value the savings Superior Markets offers, but the lack of basic customer support regarding your own digital tools is discouraging. I hope you will look into this matter to ensure that staff are properly trained not only on how to use the store's technology but also on how to treat customers with respect. And to make matters worse, Although I addressed these concerns with the on-duty manager, the issue was merely heard without any further action taken to rectify the situation or alleviate the inconvenience. I went to buy a cake for my mom and they were growing mold! The angry lady was packing up my cake when I saw the mold on another cake and I told her I didn't want it and she got mad. Then I showed her the moldy cake and she was like oh well. I can see all the negative reviews for this store. Someone should call the department of health. See my pictures. I can't shop comfortably here, I am upset at how their security guard followed me and my family around as if we were gonna steal or do something wrong. It happened more than one occasion. The first occasion just seemed like racial profiling because my boyfriend and mother in law are black. And they followed us all over the store assuming we were stealing because I go in with a stroller and not a shopping cart. How are we supposed to push strollers and a shopping cart at the same time. Theft was not our intention and I used to be a security guard. I would never make a customer feel uncomfortable like how me and my family were made to feel!!! So this superior just lost my respect and my business shopping there. The security even stood right outside the bathroom when I went in to change my babies diaper. When im in the mood to check out some, yes and im going to say it, ghetto chicks, I head out to this market. Its over on the good side of Lynwood. Market: Really Big, has there own bakery, meat market (who specializes in all sorts of your typical meat fare-ham hocks, pig ears, etc.)... Isles are pretty spacious. Carries a huge assortment of traditional fare food. Fresh fruits and vegetables are your typical ethnic range for the area. Nice assortment though. Pretty cheap deals... Now they have a hot and ready to eat section, where you can buy precooked meats. Oh, and i forgot, they have there own Tortillera, so they make there own masa for tamales or to make fresh tortillas, fresh chips, and taco shells).. read more

OK, so, I have never really been too hot on this supermarket to begin with, but it is the closest one to my house, so every blue moon I might mosey on over to the Frontier. A few months back, probably more like a year or so, I went to buy some cocoa powder, which I could not find. I had an employee help me look, then a manager, and still no cocoa powder. They have nestle quick, abuelita, and Choco milk, but no plain old cocoa. Fast forward to today: went to superior to buy cocoa powder, checked 4 isles, nothing. Went to the bakery counter to see if perhaps they could sell me some of their cocoa, but they had none either. When I told the woman working there that they had no cocoa powder in the store at all, she was just as bewildered as I was. She told her coworker and he got a funny look on his face too. Is there some sort of Cocoa Conspiracy? Where is the cocoa powder?! BTW, they got rid of the bulk buy section because it wasn't popular enough with the regulars. I thought for sure they would have cocoa powder there... Zilch. So in the end, I had to go across the street to CVS for cocoa powder, which isn't so bad, because I don't really like giving Superior my business anyway. read more

I totally agree with what Lisandra a. said about the pervs.i've been coming to this store for years to get food items here and there. It is REALLY disturbing when you're shopping and then someone from behind you stops and makes a sexually suggestive comment and when you turn around it was an employee. I thought it was weird and ignored it. NO every time i come to this store during the day that same employee makes it a point to pass by me in the aisle and whisper things to me. Went yesterday to purchase a chicken at their new kitchen. When I got home I was really disappointed. The chicken was very dry. The legs were so dry and hard we couldn't even chew them. Am guessing this chicken was from the day before, since I went really early in the morning. If you are going to serve day old chicken , at least let your customer's know and don't sell it at full price. read more

I'm not a ghetto chick like Kim G. says he goes to check out at superior. But I live and and work in Lynwood. So sometimes when I have to stop for something I go here. First of all its a pretty big store, very clean, fresh bakery, the meat is pretty good, and the prices are decent. The things I don't like about it is well they dont have everything. They only sell what they think Hispanic people will buy. So no feta cheese, sugar free syrup, or red velvet cake mix. Just a few things that I've seen them lacking so far. Anyways, the main thing that bothered me was the amount of perves that come to this store. I am not just saying this because of Kim G's comment, but seriously there is a lot of perverted mean shopping at this store, young and old..now whats up with that? Not only the shoppers also some of the workers. I had one of the workers there say under his breath as I passed by "hot mama" okay, yes I am a mama, and I can say that I'm pretty good looking, but man that makes me uncomfortable to shop there. I've been coming here for over 10 years and for the past couple of years I have been noticing the lack of customer service, from the bakery to the meat department to the cashier. Almost every time I come here now I have to deal with one thing or another. I had people get helped before me at the meat department just because they knew the person over the counter and my service number was a couple of numbers before. I had items taken away from the cashier with out even asking me , just because they couldnt sale it to me for the sale price because I was over the limit , and i had to tell them to put it back that I wasn't buying it because it was on sale that I was buying it because I need it and that it didn't matter how much it cost. Just today I was behind a lady that was paying with a 10 dollar bill with a lil nail polish on it and the cashier wouldn't accept it (REALLY!?) .The lady said its the only one she had so the cashier made her take items out! whaat?? too many bad experiences to post. Bottom line their computer system needs to be upgraded in reference to the registers also they need to be retrained as customer service lacks big time!! And please work with the community and hire more cashiers!! read more

I live in Norwalk and I went to Superior market In Lynwood CA on March 7 2013. When I returned home and unbagged my groceries a cockroach ran out of the bag. I am appalled. I will never return to this super market again. I would have reported it but being African American Im reluctant to think I would be taken seriously. I already have a hard time when i go with friends to speak to someone since I dont speak spanish, but this is the ultimate insult.The Bad atmosphere, bias treatment and infestation was ok until it was a cockroach. read more

wack I tried to order chicken a day before for fourth of July but they won't take my debit over the phone I have to go in there and I moved to riverside so I can't so I called my mother in law to go they told me they had 50 pieces of chicken for 30.00 plus taxes only to find out by my mother in law that it's only legs she like I don't want no dry legs in Spanish lol why didn't they tell me that....
