I bought a Kia Sportage here and I'm very happy with the car. Overall, however, the process was unpleasant. On the positive side, the salesman was low key and not pushy and they accepted my offer without dickering. On the negative side, they had added $2,000.00 in intangibles (extra warranty and in-case-of-theft) to the purchase contract when I went in to "just sign the paperwork." I had been very explicit with the salesman and said repeatedly that I wanted the car and only the car, and that I was not willing to pay for $95 floor mats, $300 pinstriping, or anything but the car, so I don't think that this was a matter of miscommunication. Fortunately, I read the documents I was signing (which the finance manager was impatient with) and had them remove the $2000 in extra nothing. Further on the negative side, they did not apply my $500 deposit to the purchase. A week after the purchase, when I discovered that they had cashed the deposit check but not applied it, I called and was told that it would be "no problem" to get my money back -- in ten days. After a number of phone calls, the finance manager called with "great news!" -- I could come pick up my check in five days. In spite of their incredibly complicated process, they were going to expedite things for me! It took a threatened complaint to the Better Business Bureau to get a check that day. Lastly, I gave them the deposit on a Saturday and they told me that they would have the car for me on Monday. On Monday morning they said they'd call me later that day. On Tuesday they called with "great news!" -- I could come get the car on Wednesday. I assume that some percentage of people either don't notice or don't mind the extra $2K, and that some percentage of people don't notice that their deposit was not applied to their purchase price. The practice of adding things to the contract and not applying deposits pays off financially, I'm sure -- but it's stereotypically sleazy. read more

I wanted to love this place, I really did. If you go, ask for Steve. Steve gets 5 stars!! But if Gary Reed the manager, is around, turn around and run. I had been dealing with Steve and the other manager (not Gary) and they were excellent! Absolutely loved them. Steve listened to me, asked what I wanted and what i didn't and really truly listened to me, to find exactly what I wanted. He went with the other manager, and found the exact car I wanted in their inventory (but not on their lot) and they worked to get it out there for me. The next few days is when it went down hill. Gary Reed then called me to see if I had a good time, and if there was anything else that I wanted, to which I told him no, I wanted the blue Rio Steve was getting me. He then set up an appointment for me to come in and see the car and take it out. At least that was my impression. So I get there Weds at my time, and Steve is off, so I'm dealing with Gary, who throws Chris at me, and they are both trying to convince me to look around the lot and see if I find anything else, and sit down and get some information from me, mind you all stuff I had done that weekend with Steve. I told them MULTIPLE times, that I had done all of this already, and just wanted to see the car coming in for me, and after a half hour they tell me its not ready yet!! Why am I even here?! Fortunately the manager I had talked to over the weekend came out, let me know it he would personally get it out for me Thursday (the day I stressed I needed it as I was leaving town and needed a car to get me to where I was going). Finally Thurs rolls around we go there, Steve had called me and told me he had a family emergency to take care of and I would again be dealing with Chris (totally understandable, I'm glad he called and told me) but I didn't want anything to do with Chris or Gary. Full Disclosure here: My dad has worked for dealerships, and I'm not some girly girl, I know what to look for in cars, and know how to fix them. I know how these things work. So we sit down to run some numbers and they have the car at 13,500 and it Kelly Blue Books for 12,900 in Excellent condition, with cruise (it had none, and had a scuff on the entire back fender) and after telling Chris this repeatedly, he tells me he might be able to knock it down to 13k. Excuse me? at least match the KBB value!! After all this he came back and told me he couldn't get all the financing back, as of bankers hours (my fiance works for 5/3, their loan dept is open til 8, it wasonly 7), and so he said he'd call me first thing Friday to get come numbers. It's now Tues and no phone call. I may talk to Steve again, but DO NOT deal with Chris or Gary Reed. They will not listen and will be sleazy used cars salesmen. read more

They had the exact van I was looking for and I was given a great price through internet/email contacts with Sam Began. When I arrived at the dealership, Gerald, the sales manager had the vehicle ready for a test drive and Joe Roth assisted me personally. Joe was there throughout the buying process and really made sure that everything went smoothly. Keith helped me with the financing and paperwork and the pickup/delivery process was done by Calvin - who did a great job explaining all of the new features of my Kia Sedona. Overall, it was a really great experience and I felt like the whole team did a great job. I received personal attention by all of them and feel like I really got a great price as well. My husband and I went to this dealership because it is less than a mile from our house and we knew that we wanted to buy a Kia. The sales lady was nice enough (even though she never returned a single call or email I sent her) but the man that talked to us about numbers was rude and condescending. Basically, we went there on two different days and on day two, he was telling us that they wouldn't honor the price they had quoted us the first day. Absolutely untrustworthy. Worst service and rudest employees I have ever encountered! I have a 2013 Kia Rio that's still under warranty and SHOULD have been in mint condition. I had an emergency and had just barely made it to the dealership around 5:00PM on a Friday. The managers and salespeople looked at me like I was crazy for even showing up here for help. They kept asking where I was coming from and showed no interest in the car trouble. Does it really matter considering my car was smoking?! They then told me to go to a Midas/other car shop instead. I then drove my smoking, rattling car to the Midas and they were kind enough to say they wouldn't take our money and told us to call the 1-800 kia line. They also actually looked at the car to see the problem unlike anyone at the dealership. The tow truck then towed the car BACK to the orginial dealership after it closed and had it taken to the service center. The fact is the manager should have not let us drive that car away and told us to leave our car for the next morning at the service center. The next day a Kim, a service rep, called and said I could not be given a "rental car" even though I'm under warranty. She said kia did not do this and they have no cars on the lot..at a dealership. I told her my family owns a Toyota and a Honda and their dealerships always work with them in being lent a car AND with good customer service. She also implied she didn't know why I needed a rental considering I was close to a school campus anyways. She had just assumed I was a student on break and I actually had to correct her to say have a full-time job I commute to. This was both irritating and humiliating. I didn't hear anything from them Monday and had to contact them myself for the car information. Turns out they had called my father, my emergency contact and gave HIM the information. He neither owns the car nor finances anything with the vehicle so to go over my head and not even give me a quote it truly appauling. He also mentioned how they were more respecftul to him, which brings me back to the idea that dealerships take advantage of and are blatantly rude to women (even when THEY are the paying customers). I am under warranty and they claimed it wasn't a "manufacturing problem" (yet it also wasn't a user issue as radiator clips came undone) so without consent or running through what had happened to the car they just went ahead and left me with a hefty bill. Perhaps I am wrong, but I believe they should have left me a quote first and told me the actual damage before doing something and leaving me to figure it out for myself. If I had known I would be charged I would have taken this problem to the Midas store they originally passed me off to. I have worked in sales and work in finance now and can say that good customer service is how you keep a company running and make profit. I will never use this dealership again and, having multiple problems with a NEW car, I will also not ever purchase a Kia again. read more

My husband and I were looking to test drive the new Seltos and I had a specific color in mind. After looking at all the Kia dealers in the area Superior Kia was the only one that had exactly what I was looking for. Anthony Ulmer came out an introduced himself as we looked at cars in their lot. We found Anthony to be very helpful and accommodating. No high pressure tactics! He answered our questions and even suggested other options based on the features we were looking for. He encouraged us to test drive multiple cars. It was late and we had to leave before we could go over the numbers but Anthony came in the next day, on his day off, and worked out the numbers. When we had questions about the numbers he included the finance manager in the discussion and we were able to go over line item by line item. He met us that evening, dressed for success, to complete the purchase. He reached out the day after to schedule a service we purchased, and he also ordered a few items from the service department for us, picked them up and had them ready for me the next time I came in. Anthony was fantastic, upbeat, helpful and easy to work with. They also gave me a great loaner to use when our car was in for the final service. Everyone we dealt with was great! read more

Not happy, confirmed car availability in an email before the dealer ship opened. Initially I was happy to be getting email replies 90 minutes before they opened. Got to the dealership right as they opened and the car I wanted had previously been sold. It would not have been that big of a deal, except I drove 45 minutes to get there. You would think in today's world of internet shopping, marking cars sold by the end of the day would be a priority. I can't get back my wasted time or gas. I guess to them, an occasional ticked off person is less of a threat to business than obtaining a sales lead. I won't go back. **UPDATED** I arrived on 7/10/17. Per email from Sam Began at 10:13 am (before business opened at 12:00), "My name is Sam Began I am the Internet Manager for Superior Kia. I see that you are interested in the Kia Rondo that we have in stock." I had a total of 3 replies from Sam. I found a 2014 kia Sedona on cars.com on cars .com stated that this 2014 Sedona had 694 miles on it. I was very happy to find this van with the opions that it had. I traveled 7 hours to buy this van. When the time it came to sign the paper work I was told that the vans true mileage was 3300 miles ( roughly ) in my opinion superior should of updated the mileage reading with cars .com. When I ask my sales me and finance mgr.about the extra miles in my opinion I was given a run around explanation . IF I had new the real mileage of the van with the right information I would have not made the trip to the dealership!!! ALso I want to add my mechanic told me that the van needed an oilchange and the oil was dirty . ON my car fax it was stated the last oil change was on 05/16/2014 with 694 miles on it it seem to me if your paying over 28 thousand dollars for a purchase that the dealership could have giving me a oilchange ( that's only in my opinion ) read more

I bought a used Chrysler 200 from Superior Kia roughly four days ago. It was night time when I made the purchase and traded my Dodge Charger in as a down payment. The car looked great and the price was decent, but I made a purchase after dark and couldn't see all of the cosmetics of the vehicle. The next morning I noticed all four tires were corroded in the center causing it to appear white. It appears as if someone hit the curb on both sides because both wheels were peeling and indented a quarter of an inch on over half of the "spokes." I spoke with the salesman about the issue after driving a half an hour to the dealership. He went and spoke to the used car sales "manager" who gave a reply that there was nothing he could do about it I would have to fix it on my own. I never got to personally speak to the used car sales manager; he used the salesman to tell me everything he had to say. I called around for a quote and it was approximately $400 to have them fixed. All they offered me was a car wash which they admitted to not doing when I purchased the car because there was not enough time left in the night. I would not recommend this place and if I could trade my car in for my older car I would.they do not care about their customers and it is very disappointed in how unprofessional they handled the situation. read more

So after two weeks I realized I didn't have back seat floor mats. Not good. I called both Calvin my salesman and Ric Barker, the General Manager. A 2014 certified car should have back floor mats right? Calvin called me back right away and arranged for me to get my mats which I did the next day. Ric Barker also called me back the next day as he was not there the day I called. That's good service! Plus I've since got my tires. I'm now waiting for my Car Club Rewards card that has coupons for paint touch up, dent removal and windshield repair for free. I asked about it and Calvin talked to Ric and he said they had sent it out. Haven't gotten it yet . I'm really happy working with Calvin and I like my car. It's been very fun to drive, easy to park, and great on gas. read more

Well, here's the brief and only update. The original salesperson called us back the next day. We told her of our experience and she said what she would do is take our info back and try to get the deal done. So, we told her what our offer was and why and that we were not prepared to go any higher as the value from our research just did not warrent that. Later that day, my wife got a call on her cell from Gary Reed saying he had "good news" and that we should come down and retalk this. My wife went armed with info and found herself with the idiot Gerald, the original sales person Cat and Gary reed. They then brought in the Used Car Manager--forgot his name. First, thier "good news" was they lowered the price $100.00...which was laughable. Then my wife says for the next 45 minutes she was brow beaten about the fact the would not make money, the car is rare (it's a F*****g KIA Koup!) and that we were just not willing to meet them on the car. They also informed my wife the rear camera we'd been offered would cost an added $500.00. At this pooint, she was not sure what to believe and said she would think about it overnight. They called the following day and we said we were done and we would not consider any deal. BTW, the Hyundai Veloster we were waiting on came in at Columbia Hyundai (yes, we looked at Superior Hyundai as well and had a rude salesman, Danny, working with us. He ate peanuts on the test ride for god sakes!). Car came in, we made a deal at invoice -$100 and got favorable lease rates. I'll do a separate positive review on Columbia Hyundai. Here's the moral o the story. Old-time practices of selling cars do not work with everybody anymore. Sales consultants that are not knowledgeable are useless. And, Dealer Managers that whine and moan about profit will not work any more. Superior is caught up in a time warp. STAY AWAY!! I was in the market to buy a new car and was interested in getting a Kia. Came across this dealership because of the warranty they have so I checked them out online. Initial communication between Sam and I was cool. I was out of the country so he contacted me a couple times to get me in the door. Got back in town on a Friday and decided to stop in since they were close to my house. Things spiraled out of control from the moment I walked in. The Sales man I spoke with Jeremy Mills was hands down the worst sales man I have EVER dealt with in my life. He was unaware about his products and was extremely aggressive and disrespectful in his approach. From initial contact I explained to them I wanted to stay under a certain number and only needed a navigation. I was told I Had to get a EX model because that was the only car that package came in....this was a lie. I have done some extensive research and know that the LX offers it. Once I told him that I could tell he was irritated. After viewing the LX without a navi we sat down to discuss numbers. Trying to keep things organized I took out a notebook to write everything down and this pissed him off. He told me "Are you writing this down to just go somewhere else to get a better price?" And even tried to make me sign something that said if they could get it below a certain number I would take a car home. None of this is good customer service. After he brought me back a number that was almost 5k over where I told him I wanted to be at I was ready to leave. He then starts YELLING in the middle of the showroom that I was wasting their time and needed to go somewhere else. After leaving he calls and tries to explain how he was having a bad day and took it out on me but that is unacceptable. I'm pretty sure this is NOT meeting Kia's expectations and I am calling their headquarters and the BBB. read more

So here are the lowlights: - Asked to see a specific 2015 Optima, shown a more expensive Optima - Tried to cut to chase and get price of car. Condescending salesman told us he had a process to follow and to please let him do so. - Told him no need for our financials, insurance company, or 'desired monthly payment' as we would pay cash, so again asked for the price. He gave us his paper and said write down your offer. - Returned with counter offer $2000 above our bottom line. Began to explain why it was a good deal. Stopped him and said we really didn't care how he gets to the price, it's too high and we're apparently done. We reiterated that this was a 2015 leftover model and we could buy a 2016 anywhere in town for the same price! He said that wasn't true, so I showed him pricing at Jeff Wyler Kia. He still laughed it off and didn't understand a 2015 leftover should have extra incentive to sell it. - Gave him our price again and sent him to see his mgr - Gerald. Specifically told him that if they could not meet this number, we did not want the mgr Gerald to come and explain anything, we'd just leave. - He then told us that we may have a lot of money to spend, but we 'still need to act in a professional manner'.. My wife stood up to leave, but I suggested we hold out just in case. - Well, who shows up but Gerald the Mgr, to tell us why they can't make our price and start explaining why... We cut him off, stood up, and left. We said it was our bottom line and they just didn't believe us. - 10 mins later, salesman calls.. Offers $500 less if we'll come back. We decline. - As we think about it, we call back and say ok, since we can't reach a deal on this car that you showed us, let's revert back to the cheaper car we originally asked to see - Answer was astounding - "Um, we have been negotiating on that less expensive one all along".. Seriously? Show us a car and start negotiating on a different one without even telling us? So we hang up again. - 10 mins later, they call again. Gerald tells us he'll come down more to a price that's not too far from our bottom line. We agree to return and make the deal finally. - After we return, they begin spoon-feeding us documents - one at a time, 10 mins in between each one. No explanation from the sales guy - just 'sign this'. After 2 of these sessions, I finally say - don't come back here with any more forms unless we are going to the finance offer to close this deal. - We had decided we'd finance after all, so Gerald returns to show us the payment. I asked about 0.0% and he said 'that's only for the 2016's'. I showed him on my phone that was not true - Kia had 0.0 for 2015's too. Then he says 'oh, but that's on SELECT OPTIMA's. Your's is part of the 'test drive program' so doesn't apply. - shows us a monthly payment that is $10/mo higher than it should have been. We asked for the details and he said we'd get all that in the finance office. I said you have at least $600 of something hidden in there and the deal was going to blow up unless he took it out. - 20 mins later, finance mgr comes to get us. Starts to show us details and we immediately questioned. $235 "loan fee", $295 "dealership fee", $250 documentation, etc. - Asked what a dealership fee is and he said - it's just a fee you pay. Couldn't explain. Said loan fee was charged by bank. then said our 2.49% rate would actually be 3.17%. - By now we're boiling. A 2015 model that at the end of the loan costs MORE than a 2016 anywhere in town. - We said the deals over and he stood up and opened the door without a word. We left. - Next day, while signing a deal at Joseph Toyota, who calls? - Gerald again. Come back and we'll make a cash deal at your price. Too late - your dealership is too shady and we regret that we even considered buying from Superior. DO NOT shop here unless you just want to have your intelligence insulted! read more

Bought a lightly used Kia Soul. They had advertised it with some features it doesn't have (e.g., a CD player, which I assumed to be wrong because this model no longer has it in the factory provided radio). No one mentioned the car came without a spare tire (better check on all details when buying there), they did not include the wheel lock key, and though the car still has several years of warranty remaining, I have now received multiple letters that suggest otherwise so as to get me to buy an upgrade. I got more or less what I expected, but this isn't a dealership I would use again. read more

Unfortunately, this is the worst car buying experience I have ever had. Gerald the salesmanager does not even return your call, even before purchase of the car. Despite my common sense not to buy the car I went on and purchased one any, due to the fact I liked how the car drove. However, since I am an out of state purchaser, the finance manager Jason said it would take ab out a week to send me the title, two weeks later no title and no return call from Jason after leaving two messages in one week. Also, they were suppose to send me a second key of which they still have not sent. When I asked for the phone number to the person over the sales manager, Steven Madden they still would not give me the number. Went to purchase a 2012 Kia Optima EX which has a 13,997 online. Talked to someone over the phone and someone else through email prior to going to see the car. After a test drive and sit down to go over financing someone named Jesse came out, said it was their first day on the job and that they could not sell the vehicle at the listed price. He stated that they made a mistake on its listing and did so with several vehicles. I looked up many of the other vehicles and showed them a similar one and asked if that was the correct selling price, the manager checked my phone and the car and stated that it also was an incorrect listed price. The price increased about 2k on us, but they stated was still about 2-3k short of what they should be charging. Given that this vehicle still has a couple years left on the factory warranty, is low mileage and in good shape I went ahead and purchased the car. I had asked for a large gas card to make up for the mix up, they knocked a couple hundred off the cost of the car instead. Would have preferred the gas card as I would have seen the more immediate benefit but oh well. All in all, they people were friendly, Jennifer, the internet sales associate was very knowledgeable about the car and I while I was disappointed in not getting the steal I had expected. I feel that I got a fair deal and a great car. read more

An unbelievable experience. Made a deal with Superior KIA to lease a new Sorento while turning in a Sportage that was at the end of its lease term. Sportage had mileage beyond the lease agreement and we made a deal to pay $1000 for that. Came to find out the dealership did not use our money for the miles but they used on the deal and KIA Corporate placed us for collection for not paying for the high mileage. When we communicated with Superior they gave us the cold shoulder, our problem, not theirs. KIA Corp was unbending as well. Not only has Superior lost a customer but KIA Corp has as well. Keith Malone, the finance manager was pompous and conbative as we attempted to work through this. The General Manager Ric Barker responded positively a couple of times then went silent for a week only to follow that up, not a with a call, but an email telling me he "is sorry we feel that way". Very bad customer service skills. After being contacted numerous times by their internet sales Manager about a 2014 Mustang. We decide to meet him and see this car. But he can't be there and his buddy is suppost to meet us at 9am to show us the car. But he never shows or calls. So after wasting our gas and driving a hour to see this car we our kinda mad. So this other salesman shows us the car but knows nothing about it. And doesn't seem to really want to work selling it. He gets our car appraised but never tells us what it is worth either. Then goes to check on bank loans and tells us they can't get a hold of anyone.While we were left sitting in the hot sun and I am Diabetic. Then tries to give us a paper to go to our bank and see if they will do anything. Basically doing their job for them. So after having our credit run and getting no where we left not happy. Then Sam has the nerve to contact me asking me to come up with the difference from the bank for the car and does not give me a figure. Thanks for wasting our time,ruining our credit score,wasting our gas,and being the worst car dealership we ever dealt with.Then I get contacted at 4pm telling me to edit or remove my complaint or I will have legal action brought against me. I was in need of a car and I had looked at info from several dealerships. My son and I went to Superior Hyundai to look at a car that I had seen advertised. However, the dealership was closed and my son suggested that we go to the KIA dealership next door. A young man asked us if there was anything he could do to help. I informed him that I needed a car and that I did not want to spend over 15,000. He showed me a 2010 Kia Optima that was selling for 14,000 and some change. His name was Gerald Greene. I was very impressed with his professionalism. He listened and understood where I was coming from. He was not overpowering and cocky. Although, I only wanted to spend 15,000 with taxes and the other incidentals, I spent 16,000 and some change. Mr. Greene is a very nice sales person who deserves a pat on the back. He is not one to force a sale on you. I would recommend anyone who is interested in a KIA to have Mr. Greene work with you. You will not be disappointed. He does right by his customers. People like Mr. Greene come a dime a dozen. I have read other reviews with not so favorable reviews. and quite possible managers could observe Mr. Greene and how he works with the customer. When you have a company that thrives on putting the customer first, then your company grows because they don't bother to focus on the bottom line but the customer. I really wanted to say I had a great experience here.. But I did not, I wanted to say beware! I first went there because they had a used vehicle there that was advertised on the internet for $2000 less then the normal price of the car. First off, it was a misprint stating it was a Manual, but it was really a automatic.. Which is fine, I prefer manuals but don't mind automatics. Talked to the sales person, test driven the car, feels fine and no issues. Everything was fine, till I dealt with the finance guys in the back... I decided to go through their financing, and they ended up getting me a deal, but it was ridiculous amount in payments. So I asked the guy what were the terms, and how much was financed. He went around my questions, and asked him several more times before he can tell what was financed.. He ended marking the sale price $2000 more and even failed to mention the GAP insurance when I had asked what else is tacked on. So I told him we had agreed upon the sales price on the internet, and he ended making an excuse how he worked with the finance companies, fees and how he had to buy my loan from the.. Which was a bunch a baloney if you asked me, he had basically told me if I had cash he would do it for the internet price.. So I already got approved from another bank, and came back with a check. Of course, they had to call them and get more information about what needs to be done and so forth. So the sales person came back to me and said the bank was not giving any information out and felt like they were being secretive... At the same time she said the finance guy was able to get my monthly payments down if I were to finance through them, which the sale price was still marked above the internet price! I told the sales person that they were not being shady and gave more paperwork to prove it, so she went back to them with that. She came back and said that their GM would have to look at it the next day when he comes in.. So the next day rolled around and I hear nothing back from the GM on this, so I figure they didn't want my business. I never came back, refused to answer their calls on the next day after that. Here are things I have got from them: They are shady, they played the numbers game with me I went to a few different dealerships and I gave them the same paperwork and a check to buy a car from them and they had no problems getting information they needed. So they lied to me and tried to steer me into their dealer financing, so they can get more money out of me. The Sales person seemed shady too, could sense they were lying and push me into buying the vehicle. So I went to few dealerships before and after dealing with these people, and they were straight up honest, and gave me actual price, instead of seeing payments. Where as Superior Kia, they would not let me see the actual price tacked on the loan, and only what my monthly payments were.. If you are actually considering buying a car from these people, make sure you know what you are actually paying for.
