Pretty nice store - convenient and clean. Made it in and out today on St. Pats Day before the evening rush. Interesting that almost ALL the parking stalls around the store are stamped LIQUOR STORE - 15 MIN ONLY. Oh well, during down time it is not that vigorously enforced. WIDE and I mean Wide selection of beer. It seriously took me 20 minutes to make my selections. Two cooler rows are reserved for mix and match - You get an 8 bottle carrier and you get to take 10% off of your selections. If they have what you want in those 2 rows it is a good way to try a variety of beers. You can join the points club by letting them swipe your DL and you will receive points towards your next purchase. You have to come in every 6 months though or your club membership expires. Friendly cashier and friendly employees. Overall, a decent find. I'll be back again for sure. I give this place a 4.5 - I think Applewood Liquors is still the best store I have been in even though it is all the way in Wheat Ridge. For this area the store would be a solid 5. Also the website for this store mentioned something about texting the word Superior to a code. I did that and got a text back that said the next special would be announced on 11/23. Uh if that is next year someone needs to get on that and either delete the text service or update it. If it is for '10 then you are being very proactive. ** You must be 21 to enter the store according to the posted signage at the door. Soooooo great! Huge beer, vino and liquor selection at fair prices! They have a reward system that I haven't been able to see a benefit from yet, perhaps I need to drink more? I'm a craft beer lover and the prices here are typically $1-$4 cheaper than other places. Sometimes it can be tough to get an employee to help. I've had to wait around a couple times to ask questions. But, they are super knowledgeable, I've never had them look anything up, they know product and stock off the top of their heads. Huge liquor store...Being from NY I had never seen such a large store selling only liquor so I was amazed! The staff is helpful. They have a great option of making your own six pack and they have 48 doors of beer so I can only assume you will find what you need. The aisles of wine offer lots of choices. Living in Louisville, there have been periods over the past year where construction on the McCaslin bridge made the drive to Superior too painful, and I sure missed this place. Most of what I buy is local craft beer: they have a great selection of packs & bombers, usually lots of great choices on sale, and good prices. For my occasional wine purchases, I can get pointers to a decent value. The easy-to-manage points club is a nice little bonus. read more

Colorado loves its gigantor liquor stores and this place is no exception. Seriously huge selection of both wine and beer. Oh, and they have liquor too. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and even though this place is expansive, I never feel overwhelmed. They also have one of my personal favorite features, which is the make your own six pack. Pull out a cardboard six pack holder and choose from beers in the same price range to create a six pack that will give you maximum joy getting housed. It's also very conveniently located just off US 36 at the Louisville exit, so you can pick up a giftor (a liquor present) if you're on your way to visit friend or family. read more

Buyer beware. I have been coming here since this place opened , and have obviously had no major complaints. Good selection across the board. Lately though, especially on scotch, their prices are through the roof. For example , 16 Year Lagavulin is $130, which is insane. It was $100 here a couple of weeks ago , and Daveco still has it for that price. I have noticed, increasingly, that you really have to watch prices here. I've been a loyal customer for almost 20 years , but I am losing trust. I no longer live in superior , but have been driving over because this was my go to. I am disappointed that after driving over specifically to buy scotch, that your prices across the entire Scotch line are waaaaaay high. I was looking to bring home some craft brews from my visit to the Denver area. This liquor store was close to my hotel so I popped in to see what they had. I was surprised at the very large craft brewery selection. I don't trust bottles in my suitcase so that limited my selection a little to a couple of shelves in the cooler. However I was not let down. They have a mix your own six deal for $8.99. I grabbed two for the trip home. Good customer service here too. The lady at the till was friendly. read more

Sections are (generally) organized well and it's easy enough to find what you're looking for. If you have questions or want recommendations, ask someone who works here! I've spent well over $1,000 here in the past 2 years. However after my last visit several months ago, I was purchasing over $100 of beer, and after checkout wanted an empty wine box. I was told they are for wine purchases only. I argued that I am a paying customer (the bulk of my business is from purchasing wine). She told me I can have an empty beer box, but I can't have an empty wine box. Somehow wine boxes are worth more than business. I've not been back since and won't be. Plenty of other places that have let me have empty wine boxes. They'll get my money instead. read more

Superior Liquor is by far our favorite local spot to pick up beer, wine, and liquor. Their wine selection is pretty large, and they always have some knowledgeable folks on hand to answer questions and make recommendations. Their beer selection is extensive and represents a good number of microbreweries, and the rotating sales offer lots of great deals. When we host friends from out of town who want to try local beers without breaking the bank at breweries, we hit up the "build your own six-pack" section. My only warning - if your driver's license isn't from Colorado, be prepared for some extra scrutiny. Most of the time, it's a non-issue, but on a recent visit, they believed my real ID was a fake, and spent ten minutes trying to figure out if they were going to let me make my purchase or not. On a separate visit a few months ago, my boyfriend - also with an out-of-state ID - even had the cops called to verify his (legitimate) out of state driver's license. I applaud their efforts to obey the law, but neither of us look even remotely close to being underage, and we're pretty frequent shoppers (at least once a week). read more

VERY rude customer service. My husband, (who is very polite) asked if we could exchange a bottle of alcohol we didn't like. Now, it's one thing to say 'no', but it's another to tell someone "you're just trying to get something for free' and be blatantly rude. This was a female supervisor - we didn't get her name. We'll go elsewhere from now on, there are plenty of liquor stores around! Update. After seeing our review Superior Liquor cancelled our accumulated points and offered no apology. So this place claims to be family orientated, But after what I saw this afternoon I beg to differ, I watched an employee throw his coat on the floor and walk out, I had to know what happened I caught up with the employee in the parking lot he explained he was going through tons of personal problems and the store was taking his hours but not firing him he said that was just so they didn't have to pay him till the 15Th for the weeks he already worked......Don't you think you should Superior shame on you..... your old customer. You used to be a wonderful store. I'm not sure what the change has been but Superior Liquor is now a Supreme disappointment. They no longer carry our favorite beers and the last time I was at the location I was treated very rudely. I wanted to make an exchange, you nickel and dimed me and then were incredibly insulting even as I was cornered into making an unfair purchase. We used to love Superior Liquor, but had a extraordinary experience today courtesy of manager TINA E. that will prevent us from ever returning. And once we explained the story to the elders of our family - they've agreed they won't be returning either. -A loss of thousands for the business. My wife and I walked into the store, picked a few items (cider in particular) and brought them to the counter. The gentleman behind the counter began ringing us up when TINA E. came up and requested our ID's. I laughed, smiled, said "Sure, we're rewards members, in our mid to late 30's but here's my ID." My wife, who admittedly believes she doesn't look 36, but certainly looks well over 21 said she didn't have her ID. TINA E.'s response, "Is it in the caaaar?" "Uh no Tina, it's not." I smiled, asked my wife to go outside hoping to continue with the transaction. But, alas, under TINA E.'s watch it was not to be! She could see my ID, see my membership in the computer, but because my wife of 10 years didn't have her ID, she wouldn't sell to us. I asked if she was concerned why she didn't ID my wife coming in the store (I did notice her eyeing my wife), and she said "we don't do that". I asked for the manager. TINA E. said she was the manager and by God the ONLY way she was going to sell to me was if we went home, retrieved my wife's ID and came back. **TINA E.'s bio on their website states: "Night Manager-Tina "Fey" fills in the gaps at the Customer Service Counter. But is generally the one in charge! Tina is focused on her studies (with a 4.0), but makes ends meet with time at Superior Liquor. Petite but powerful, Tina handles situations with a smile, poise & an occasional bit of muscle. She's a joy to work with & quick to help you plan your party or find your favorite wine." Hmmmm....... In charge? Well... that's for sure... But Tina "Fey"... NOT EVEN CLOSE!. Needless to say, having been loyal to them for years, I will never return. Unfortunately, TINA E. has either a low IQ, very poor judgement, and/or both. She clearly had some personal "issue" with my wife and wanted to make a point of it. Might I suggest to Pete Messimer, General Manager, that he re-train TINA E. to make appropriate judgement calls when it comes to ID'ing customers. Especially long-time, loyal customers in their late 30's. P.S. I recognize the increased presence of ABC... As a business owner I can recognize the "letter" of the law and the "spirit" of the law.... But this was a power trip... I'm 38, my wife is 36... we're CLEARLY NOT under 21.... Had Tina been my employee, her behavior would receive one opportunity for correction. My elderly father entered a contest at the store and won. We then tried to collect the prize on numerous occasions. Everyone I talked to took our name and said they would look into it. Well, we are going now on a year and not one response to any of our requests to collect what we rightly won. I feel we played by the rules so why cannot SL? Anyone have any advice for us? read more

I've never dealt with a more rude staff at a liquor store. A group of us go in to buy beer and we are all over 21. 2 of us from Kansas, 1 from Missouri and 1 from Colorado. They pulled out a book with ids and questioned the Missouri license. They preceded to ask what the capital of Missouri is and he answered correctly. The clerk proceeded to harass him about trying to buy a 12 pack of beer underage. Then asked if we wanted her to call the cops. We said that's fine but not necessary. She did not call the cops and called another clerk over. We expressed our disbelief over how rude she was being. The other clerk whispered into her ear and she said "that's a great idea". She told us nothing. Then said she refused to sell to us. I can 100% guarantee all of our ID's were valid so obviously they are using a out of date or incorrect book with id information. I understand checking id's to prevent underage drinking but you can do it in a way that is not rude and unpleasant to customers. Please get an accurate id book. We will never be coming back here because of how we were all treated. The customer in front of us, a South Dakota resident was also treated poorly and asked multiple questions. After presenting her with his social security card she still harassed him over trying to buy underage. He was able to purchase his alcohol after a 5 minute interrogation. Next time please call the cops instead of harassing potential customers. read more

I have been a customer for 6 years since moving to CO. Today they lost my business. I was treated with complete disrespect and disregard by two employees I have never seen before. I was wearing a mask placed under my nose as I have a blood disorder affecting my oxygen intake. I was rudely told to put my mask over my nose or leave. I explained my condition and also offered to pay for my products and leave asap. The employee while I was speaking kept repeating it was store policy and state mandate. Showing absolutely no consideration for medical condition and instead of offering an alternative to help my purchase and respecting me as a customer, he continued to say either I leave or I pout the mask over my nose. The attitude was very confronting and completely devoid of care or concern. I left and will never shop there again. I will not spend any of my $ in businesses that behave like this. Alcohol is not a necessity (even though the State said so yet closed small businesses) and there are many other places to get it anyway. read more

The customer service is terrible here. My wife went into this place and they were very racist towards her. They treated here like a criminal and thought she was going to steal something. Also they did not believe she was related to her mother's because how she looks compared to her mom and questioned her ID because she has a different last name (due to marriage). So I recently started a new job near the location of this establishment. For weeks I bought 5-7 bottles of wine a week- my purchase were about $300 a month . I really agreed with most of the other posts here in terms of the staff knowledge and the selection and prices. Oh how it all came crashing down this evening as I went to return a bottle of wine which I had purchased over the weekend which was had simply turned bad. I will recount the conversation for you: Patron: "I would like to return this bottle of wine, here is my receipt" Manager: "What's wrong with it" Patron: "It had turned- tastes a bit like vinegar" Manager: "That doesn't happen" Patron: "Come again?" Manager: "Wine doesn't do that" Patron: "Well, I can tell you that the wine was unaacceptable- I'm not trying to get cash, I just want to exchange it for another bottle" Manager: "Well we can't really do a real return on wine, but I guess I'll give you an exchange" Patron: "Um- ok I'll get another bottle" (Patron comes back 30 seconds later with a new bottle same price) Manager: "I tasted the wine- it tastes how it is supposed to" Patron: "I'm sorry but I just disagree. Thanks for the exchange"-- There are so many things wrong with this encounter that I won't even go any further but to say I won't ever walk into this store again. Maybe the store is doing so well that 3 or 4 grand a year and general public opinion is completely insignificant to them - I don't know. I was stunned and won't ever go there again. read more
