I went in and opt'd to sign up for their rewards program after being asked by one of three guys that worked there to sign up, they couldn't seem to stop giggling as I shopped. I brushed it off as the "little boy syndrome", but about a week after I started getting prank calls from them. I know this because I used the dial back option only to find out it was UNION JACK LIQUOR. The guy's pretended as if they had no idea on how it happened. I let it go but was very disappointed. About two weeks ago I decided to stop in as it was close to closing time for all liquor stores and live a few min away from that specific location. I had my friend with me at the time and we went in for something very specific, an in and out pit stop. When I walked though the door the same three boys were working and they got really nervous and surprised almost like embarrasment was to much to bare. I brought up my items and asked if he can take my # for the rewards program. He DELIBERATELY ignored me to the point that it was awkward and silent. At that time my friend didn't know about the prank call but he picked up on how the guy just ignored me so he insisted on repeating it "Can she give you her # for the rewards?" His response: "WE DON'T HAVE A REWARDS PROGRAM!!!" WOW, JUST WOW....a bunch of perv kids who take girls numbers just to violate their privacy and THEN want to call it a business? PATHETIC! I'm a big fan of Union Jack. They have an excellent selection of beer and rum, priced fairly. I can't speak to the rest of the selection. The folks who work there are very nice and helpful. They also are very dog friendly and never let us leave without my pups getting treats. read more

Union Jack Liquor is a pretty darn good spot to do some brew andventuring! I've been several times and the hubs walks out with a different pack everytime. You can find some seasonals and other bottles that only come around once in a blue moon. The staff is also fairly knowledgeable when it comes to what their selling. Kudos to them! Drop by and check this place out yourself if your around the area. There's always something that will catch your eye especially if your a beer fanatic. Union Jack's is a great, local place to get wine and liquor. If you are stocking a bar for a party or event, this is the place. The folks at Union Jack's have gone out of their way in working with me in the past to get not only great prices for me, but to get the wines and liquors I was looking for. At the last event they helped me with, I had two very specific wines I was trying to get in quantity. While Union jack's didn't stock either, they got both in for me in time for the event. Not only that, when I mentioned I was shopping the bill with another, local, MAJOR, store, Union Jack's response was, well just let us know what price they can get it for. They told me that other store could get lower prices because of how much they purchase, but Union jack's would match the prices or beat them to get the business. I don't know how much Union jack's made off that order (if anything) but I am fine knowing they are staying in business off my repeat business. These folks rock. They also know wines well enough to recommend alternatives to what you're looking for when necessary and instantly knew what I was talking about when I asked for a demi sec prosecco (which took some explaining at that other MAJOR store). And the best part of all... when the party is over and you find you no one liked scooby snacks and you ordered a few too many bottles of MIdori, they take it back, no questions asked, period. I mentioned that I had bought a couple of cases of a reisling 2 days before the event and had 3 bottles left over Their representative said they carried it and sell lots of it, they'd be happy to take those back too as it wouldn't be a loss for them. This is my usual go-to liquor store. They're a tightly packed little space, but manage to carry a good selection of beer and an OK selection of wine. They run regular promotions with good prices, and consistent with their namesake have probably the best selection of British beers in the area. If you're a local and shop the nearby King Soopers you should always have a 10% off receipt coupon in hand. If Union Jack fails you for some reason, then your next stop for a larger selection is over to Superior Liquors just south of US36. Gluten-Free aficionados should appreciate that they carry a handful of beer varieties including the Green's bombers which are probably the best I've tried. read more

Decent selection of micro brews. Not as big as that place to the west of US 36 but I live in Louisville and want to keep the tax dollars here. Prices are competitive. There are usually a few sale deals every week. I love that they post a couple on the outside sign. If you shop at King Soopers check the back of your receipt for the 10% off coupon(full price item only). They keep a nice rotation of seasonal beers and bombers. I'm only giving 4 stars because the service is just adequate. Cashiers are always quick but rarely does anyone greet you or ask if you need help. Staff aren't unfriendly but you wouldn't ever say they are outgoing. I don't often need or want help but if you do you, you will probably have to go out of your way to ask for it. Physical space is also tight in the store so be prepared to shift out of the way if you tend to linger in front of the cooler doors. read more

Came here because it is so close to my house.... now know that driving the extra mile is FAR better than ever coming here again. First time the woman questioned my age (which I understand) but then rudely pointed out I would not be able to come here once my ID expires (about a month away) and made a few more rude comments. Second time, she asked if I wanted a bag and I explained that I would not in an effort to help the environment but she looked my straight in the eye and put it in the bag and questioning me/making rude comments yet again. I have been shopping at Union Jack for a few years now after stumbling across them on my way to a gathering at a friend's house. I now drive a bit out of my way to make a regular stop. The store is very well stocked for an independent liquor store and I usually have no difficulty finding what I need. Right now, I am loving the cooler full of gluten free beers (they have so many!) and the amazing whiskey shelf. I find the staff to be friendly, the shop has tons of personality, and highly recommend a stop if you are needing to stock up! read more

I used to go to Union Jack exclusively, which was several times a week. They have an excellent selection of beers and Andy is very helpful. However, I tried to return an unopened bottle of liquor one night. They wanted a receipt. I didn't have it and was ready to give up. Then they added that it was so people would not return old liquor. I showed them the 'Best by'' date, which was more than a year away. They still refused. Times are tough. If they don't want a 3x a week shopper enough to exchange alcohol that is still good, I can find someone who will. read more

I like these guys. They have a good beer selection and there are always some microbrews on sale. The wine section is alright, not amazing, but they have their bases pretty well covered from Bota boxes on up to some classy vintners I don't recognize or pay for. I've noticed that the service is not always friendly, but I didn't really care about that, as I was making a quick in and out purchase. Today, however, I was refused service because the manager (George, as he named himself) said that my breath smelled of alcohol, which is impossible because I had not had anything to drink previous. An apartment complex I manage regularly purchases kegs for our residents to enjoy a beverage in our clubhouse. We've had no issue up until recently when the wrong keg of beer was GIVEN to us by Union Jack. When I returned the shell to purchase another keg the rough looking gal behind the counter basically accused our associate of purposefully taking the wrong keg on the previous visit. When the associate called to confront this accusation, this lady who claimed to be the owner, told her that I was lying about the exchange and back pedaled to make it seem like she was telling me it was their mistake. Unless you need Coors Light or Bud, DO NOT buy micro brews here. They are not stored correctly, and are 90% of the time skunked due to ? there. I have been going there far too long and getting home to a spoiled beer, and after tonight with a Modus sixer, i am done with these guys regardless of how close they are. Shame on me for going back and taking the gamble. Go a few minutes out and go to Superior Liquor, they store there beer correctly, vs how they do it there. I parked near the entrance closest to the entrance for about five minutes to text my friends and the owner came out and was incredibly rude to me saying if I'm not going to come in and buy something then I need to leave. So I went in to buy a few drinks my friends asked for and they didn't even have what I wanted and their sales were terrible so I left and then the owner yelled out the door to me "good, get out of here!."
