I regret not putting my son into her care when I first had the opportunity, because I can see a difference of discipline in my son compared to my daughter. JillMatie loves having external teachers come and teach the kids. There was a music teacher, and outdoors teacher, and right now they have a Spanish teacher, which just helps motivate my daughter when I'm teaching her at home! I'm sure there have been more teachers, I just can't remember them off the top of my head, right now. All around, JillMarie loves her families. I can attest to that. I feel like an extended part of her family. There's a little garden she and the kids work on. The kids do cute artsy projects, and more. I feel like she is a top homecare-provider. Little Sunshines of Broomfield significantly…read more misrepresented their program combined with a lack of communication regarding my son's enrollment at the Broomfield location has me scrambling in August to find a new program for him. When I toured the facility with Heather in April, she outlined a specific classroom, schedule, and program for my almost five-year-old. However, upon starting, he was placed in a different classroom with a mandatory one and a half to two-hour "quiet time," which I had explicitly stated would not work for him. While he was temporarily moved to the correct classroom for July, I was informed at the end of that month that the classroom would no longer be available full-time in August. This schedule change had reportedly been known since April but was never communicated to me. Furthermore, due to teacher call-outs, they again wanted to place my child in the classroom I had stated was not an option.  Heather previously indicated she would check with corporate regarding a refund after I pulled my son from the program. However, after a week of trying to reach her, I was informed when I stopped in person that a refund was denied because a "rotational class" was offered. This rotational program still requires him to return to the classroom for the two-hour nap time, which directly contradicts the promises made during my initial tour. They have also had numerous people leave in the month and a half we were there and Heather tried to blame the miscommunication on people that had left. However, she was the one who did the tour and the only one I ever talked to so the miscommunication was with her. There are so many options in this area, I highly suggest looking at one of those!

The setup at this Y is not my favorite. There is only one bench available that isn't attached to a barbell holder and there are an excess of Elliptical machines and bikes. They've done away with the floor area to make room for even more of them. Someone must have demanded that, but it sure wasn't me. It's cool that this branch has an ice rink, though I've not used it yet. Parking is easy. Staff is friendly. However, there's no steam room, the towels are tiny, and unlike other Y's, you can neither borrow nor buy a lock. Most let you do one or the other. I'm glad this branch exists, but it's average in my estimation.

Our au pair also said she felt like they were very difficult. They talk very disrespectfully to us once they take our money and make it difficult to communicate with them. I have actually been hung up on and avoided for months. I am so glad I switched agencies. I realized what a big difference there was in professionalism! We love our new agency and I wish I knew this years ago.

Au Pair International is probably the worst agency out there. First, look at how they advertise or…read moremarket: They require a $650 fee just to apply (no other agency I checked with has an application fee more than $100), but on their website, they induce you to apply by saying the fee will be waived if you apply be the end of the month. Next month, and every month after that has the same "promotion". Our local coordination, Michelle Hom, is lazy and lies. She never bothered to check our house until after we paid and completed the agreement (the agency is supposed to check before in case your room does not qualify). She then comes to our house and start telling us bad things about Au Pairs, for example, they come here either to play with boys, learn English, or make money - nothing to do with enjoying taking care of children. Other Au Pairs told me that she plays the Au Pairs against the host family as well. They only care if you sign the contract and pay the money because once you pay the money, if you decide to cancel later, you are mostly SOL. No matter what complaints they have received of the Au Pairs, they do not care, but want to rematch them as quickly as possible because the data on the Au Pairs is reported to the State Dept as required by law. For example, if they have a high percentage of Au Pairs who have to return to their country before the end of their contract, it will raise concern among the State Dept. Ilka and Katrina are also complicit. Most of the Au Pairs they have are from South America (such as Argentina). My advice is to stay from these Au Pairs. They are rarely here to babysit or learn English. They come largely for one reasons - you can guess what it is. Our former Au Pair, Valentina, is like that.
