We all know that's simply not the case.) After making MULTIPLE trips to Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware to source hinges for kitchen cabinets I was trying to repair, I had almost given up on finding the hardware I needed. At each of the stores, I went in with a sample and, after waiting for long periods of time at to get help, I was told BY THE HARDWARE DEPARTMENT reps "this one will work". Each time I would get home and find it didn't fit or that parts were missing from the package. I went to Siggia and John gave me great service and provided me with hinges that actually fit the cabinet I was repairing. Yes, I had to wait for a bit--but he actually knew what he was doing. And, by the way--yes, I had to buy screws. But it was not a big deal since Siggia was still cheaper for two hinges and a package of screws than it's competition.

They had lots of specials going on, and the shelves were pretty well stocked despite having just finished a major sale. The Van Nuys location is a bit smaller than some of the others, but I haven't found it to be lacking anything I've needed, so I can't complain at all. This chain remains my favorite hardware store to browse, and I appreciate the niche they fill.
