Customer service is below the most horrible. Our truck was broken into the day after we flew out of abq for thanksgiving week. We had used a park & stay hotel (also would not recommend doing that) and got a call that a window had been broken on our truck. We were out of the country and didn't have any option besides to have the truck towed and stored for the week. My husband made a few calls to try and find someone who would store the vehicle in an indoor space since we had a wide open broken window. J & M said they could do this so we went with them. My husband asked if picking the car up after hours on a Sunday evening would be would possible since that was when our flight arrived and we live 3 hours from the airport and had to be home for work Monday morning. He was told that we just needed to give dispatch a call earlier in the day to arrange the pickup so someone could meet us. So fast forward to Sunday when we are traveling home. My husband calls dispatch a few times and can't get anyone to answer. Finally gets someone on the phone (not who he originally spoke with) and they said no we couldn't pick it up that night. That was annoying, but we couldn't really do much about it and we understood it was maybe not in the norm, although they had said they would when we arranged the tow. So we rented a car at the airport and drove home that night. The next day we have to get our rental car back to the airport so my husband calls J&M to inform them we are heading in from 3 hours away to get our truck. We are told we need to be there by 4:30 or we can't get it. So we make arrangements at work and leave early to go get our truck. We get there to find it has been stored outside in a lot for the week. At this point, my husband is pretty frustrated. He asks to speak to the manager who refuses to even HEAR that someone told us it would be stored inside. Zero conversation or accepting that someone may have misinformed or even that there could have been a miscommunication. He straight said "you're lying" to my husband. Why would we have made that up?? In the end, it cost us $600 to have our car towed 5 miles, stored for 6 nights outside with no window, the additional cost of a rental car, and 6 extra hours of driving. If this company had just been honest and delivered what they promised on the phone, even just the indoor storage, we would have been fine with it all. But two "promises" not kept, a manager that is yelling at my husband that HE is lying about what he was told over the phone, and an astronomical price, I'd take my business anywhere but here.

This is a very honest business that doesn't try to Price gouge (take it from someone who received many, many quotes). The daughter claims that they had several techs when I first made my $9,100 deposit on April 12, 2024, and now they only have the son in law, who was rarely ever there doing any work. They made the mistake of getting greedy and overbooked themselves, and, unlike the founder of Gilson's Auto Body, they have no idea how to run a business. Every time I contacted the daughter by email, I was simply strung along with excuses and lies. I told them they should have refunded my money when they realized they were overbooked instead of keeping my vehicle indefinitely without it getting repaired or giving me a completion date. But Angela, the daughter, tried to gaslight me by telling me I was the only customer that wasn't patient and compassionate, despite the many negative reviews they've gotten over the past 2 years. But, after over 6 weeks of waiting for them to even start working on my truck, I finally had enough and on Friday July 5th I filed a complaint with the New Mexico Justice Department Consumer Complaint Division. The following Monday, they sent out a group email to all of their customers that they are closing their business for good and will be locking their gates and appts must be made to pick up vehicles. But I had to threaten that I'd bring a police escort if they didn't allow me to pick up my truck and they finally let me pick it up on July 11, 7 weeks after I originally dropped it off! In the email notice, they also stated that they plan to refund deposits to all their customers, but it could take up to 90 days because they first have to sell their building and business to be able to get the money to pay customers their money back! They also threatened to file bankruptcy if anyone tried to force them to give them their money back before 90 days! This business is not only dishonest, but they are fraudulent. They take your money and make promises they can't keep! Then they spend your money and aren't able to pay you back when they fail to complete the services that they promised to do. If they don't return my $9,100 deposit within the next 30 days, I will be taking them to court and filing a lien against their property and business!
