Extremely rude and unprofessional. We parked on a Saturday in an EMPTY lot that had signs for Gainesville Neighborhood parking, which does not tow on weekends. Instead, we walked out to find our car totally gone. We had no idea who took it and couldn't find any signs about a towing service for at least 5 minutes. When we called to find out where our car was, they told us that we were parked in a lot for one of the fraternities and were responsible for the $100 charge. The best way for me to put it is... these people are money thirsty as hell and will tow whatever is available. Scum of the earth people. Towed every single car In the cascades lot in one night which obviously got them a nice bonus. I went and got my car and found that it was parked about an inch away from two other cars in each side. They literally cram as many cars in their shitty lot as possible, mostly college kids cars. I parked in a lot right across from the Swamp restaurant, yes I probably should have parked in the garage down the street, but I recently had knee surgery and since the lot was much closer and had many open spots I did not think it would hurt the stores in the plaza if I parked there. I was having lunch on the patio across the street when I saw the driver break into my car (I wonder how legal it is) and was about to tow it. I was able to get to my car and jump in it so the driver took off and drove around the block. He came back around 2 minutes later to the same lot and towed another car. The sad thing is the car he towed was for a young lady who was getting lunch from the pita shop in the plaza where she was parked. I parked behind Flacos/ Nellys like I usually do wherever I decided to hang with my friends... and apparently there is a 5pm- 5am reserved time in which you have to log into an app to reserve your parking space. That's right... not 5am-5pm. I came back to a boot on my car that I had to pay $75 to have removed because whoever I'm this city decided they wanted to make so very shady money. They didn't even give me a chance to try and pay for the time I was actually parked there. Why is this new parking restriction even there!?? I came back to several open parking spots mind you, so it's not like I took someone's spot. Towing company's are supposed to help you and/ or remove vehicles that clearly obstructing traffics laws or causing an issue. You know... something where someone says "Wow, look where that asshole parked". This low blowing, garbage, sad excuse for a company created one of the worst experiences I've had in this town. Superior Towing towed not only my car, but dozens of other residents' cars from The Ridge at Gainesville today. We all had our decals displayed, and we were all parked in the correct regions. We are being reimbursed for the cost of getting our cars back, but many of us were late to jobs, classes, and important events as a result. This is, frankly, absolutely unacceptable. Awful scammers with a complete lack of morals or any kind of human decency. I had just gotten out of the ER and had gone to Publix to get my prescriptions filled. I was in the store for 10 minutes and came out to find my car had been towed, however, the truck next to me that had been sitting there for longer than my car had and came out of the store after me was still there. What others have said about insufficient signage is completely accurate. They purposefully mislead people into parking in places where they will get towed. But when you call them to remove a car that has no parking decal for your complex from your paid parking spot, it sits there for 2 days without ever moving. If not for the help of a random stranger who also got towed today paying the tow fee for me, I wouldn't have been able to get my car period because it would have been coming out of my rent money, but most of the employees there don't care about that or the fact that the stress from the whole debacle almost sent me back to the ER. I say most because there was one kind employee who offered me sincere apologies when I ran into him afterwards. I didn't catch his name, but I hope that if he sees this, he knows that he deserves a lot better than that company because he's a wonderful, compassionate man. Awful company and very unprofessional. We've incurred mechanical issues due to their careless "service" and they refused to provide their insurance information upon request. They (as in the general manager Kevin) even hung up the phone because they got called out. I cannot believe how rude these people are. They are unable to conduct their business in a professional manner and lack a moral compass. It is unsurprising to see how many bad reviews they have, after having experienced it myself. They definitely are uneducated and their customer service, or lack thereof, is beyond me. They do not have the skills to deal with conflict. I felt as if I were speaking with a couple of teenagers who were being berated for wrongdoing...the defensiveness made it apparent that this is an ongoing issue with them. these dirtbags towed my sons truck from an off campus student apartment complex last night while he was visiting friends. They towed his truck due to no decal. there is no decal required to park in the open surface parking that is for tenants and guests parking area at this complex and he had not violated any parking laws or rules to get his vehicle towed off. He walked out to leave and his truck was not there, of course we thought it had been stolen because there was NO reason for it to have been towed. He called 911 to report his truck stolen because his truck was not listed as being towed to the police dept. Towing companys have rules and regulations that they are required to follow in the state of Florida, which is: 1. they have to report car's that they tow to the police dept within 30 minutes of towing them so they know where the vehicle is when someone calls in to report car missing. and 2.they are also suppose to provide photos of the towed vehicle where it is parked before towing it away from the property to show proof of the violation they are claiming is the reason for towing. Which they did not notify the police and did not provide any pictures for proof. The 911 operator looked at the list for vehicles towed and his truck was not on the towing list and had the operator not mentioned the name of this towing company (because it is not one that the city of Gainesville uses for towing (not surprised at all why they would be the only company not used by the city of Gainesville and law enforcement agencies) After calling this company and finding out that they were the one's that had towed his truck and the reason for the tow (which was not a legal reason to tow because there was no parking violation where he parked and had absolutely no reason to be towed. I am a single parent with 2 teenagers and money is always tight and dont have an extra $100. to give to these shady people who take advantage of innocent people who work hard for their money. It is so hard to read these reviews and know that they are doing this to people all the time, why and how is this continuously happening and being reported and nothing is being done to these people or this business.? I do not understand how they get by with this totally illegal way of doing business and nothing is being done to stop them from continue to rob and steal from others and should be considered auto theft when they illegally tow for profit. What they are doing should be considered auto theft and robbery based on the fact that they are stealing these cars from the owners and robbing these same individuals of $100 everytime they commit these illegal tows. If someone went into a parking lot and stole a vehicle they would be charged with auto theft, if you take or steal money from someone that doesnt belong to you it's considered robbery and you go to jail, how is that any different from what this towing company is doing to innocent people who have done nothing illegal or unlawful and still are the ones that have to pay money that they probably don't have and suffer the consequences for these criminals that are breaking the law and getting away with it. read more

These guys have a horrible scam where they own a parking lot behind Sonnys and Blaze on Archer Rd. I admit only after the fact I saw signage stating it was private property. They purposefully have those signs hidden beside other signs and next to trees so you don't notice them. They have no true intent on making sure the lot is available for customers of who knows where, but it is solely for the purpose of collecting money from people who miss their hidden signs. read more

I was about to call GPD and my insurance but saw a sign for the tow company. On a whim I called them. My parking pass was in my vehicle. My car was in my parking lot. By law what they did at that point was Grand Theft. I could not get my apps to work so I had to walk to their office in this heat. With my bags as I was headed out to travel. Their office staff was rude and passive aggressive. They Towed my vehicle illegally as it had the proper pass displayed for that private lot. Then they wouldn't even tell me if the car was on that property. Their gates were all wide open so I stepped just inside the open path with my keys out clicking to see if my car beeped that way I know it is there and can contact the police. Because they cannot just keep a vehicle and refuse to confirm that it is there and refuse to allow you to retrieve it and pay their fine. As I enter the area, they rush me and one attempted to grab me. This is assault and they nearly forced a dangerous situation to occur. I backed up to the fence and they crowded me, I very loudly told them not to touch me and not to force a physical confrontation which at that point I felt that they wanted. I'm proficient in self defense and combat martial arts. I have never created a conflict in my life and I felt at that moment that I was not safe and that their egos were about to create a situation that did not need to occur. They then Boxed me in by a gate which is legally kidnapping in the state of Fl. They then called multiple officers to the property in an attempt to further escalate things. I was lucky that the officers that showed up were calm and didn't just take their word and do something worse. They were disrespectful, unethical and I will never allow my family or anyone I know to ever stay in that area again. Their behavior and then subsequent involvement of GPD is the exact recipe for why minorities end up dead constantly. They escalated a simple situation then involved the law. I was lucky because the responding officers from GPD were the most polite, respectful and patient officers I have ever met. These people at this company are disgusting. This incident made me sick and I'm appalled that they have not been sued enough by now to no longer legally have a business. They will be returning the fees they made me pay when I see them in court for damages. The court does. Not care about their ego, their screaming or their snide comments or bullying behavior. If you can avoid it, leave your vehicle in a garage because if you have a valid parking pass they will still tow your vehicle , and then force you to pay it back. Most people pay it even if they shouldn't because they had a pass and let it go. My legal council has already begun working on this for me. Textbook bad vibes! I was driving through a two way street, where only one car could fit, so I pulled into a tiny lot on a weekday at night, it didn't seem associated to a location and non of the cars had tags. I was sitting there looking up directions, until I started admiring the environment and started taking pictures of an apartment complex or a sorority house on state road 26 truthfully. As soon as I got back into the car, literally less than 10min a tow truck pulled up behind me and an overweight guy came shuffling attempting to boot my car, I opened my car door and he started walking right back and said "I took pictures of the car". When I was walking back, I saw another man randomly standing at the end of the street, I was hesitant and was about to walk around the street, had I my car would of been booted or towed. Never seen people so desperate. In a busy town I can't believe someone could watch every car that closely more than the police. Must not have a life. And I'm an introvert, not a college student or drink...etc I'm sure they don't care, but they probably judged my license plate. Superior Towing taking advantage of students. My son had his scooter towed (not arguing whether or not it should have been towed). The scooter was apparently towed on a Wednesday and he found out it was at Superior Towing of Friday. He arrived and was told it would be $100.00 towing charge, $50.00 per day storage, $80.00 admin charge, $80.00 leon charge, $60.00 gate charge for a total of $420.00. The scooter was towed about a half a mile. He was given the option to pay $200.00 (and was told that the manager would accept $100.00) and sign over the title to Superior if he couldn't afford the $420. How is this legal? read more

I told him I've been parking at her apartment complex all semester and he's like "well I didn't see you here yesterday" as if I park there 24/7. This is the most predatory towing company I have ever encountered. I came to UF to visit my daughter one evening as she had invited us to her apartment to have dinner. I also had her younger special needs twin sisters with me. She told me her apartment complex had towing companies driving by to look for cars parking without a permit. (I believe they were in this together) So I was very careful to select a spot that had was just for visitors. There was NO SIGN and the painting on the ground was NOT visible at night. I even drove back the next day to take pictures of it to prove this to the apartment complex. When finished dinner and left, I walked out at dark with my children to NO car. I of course found out that my car had been towed. We had to have someone drive us to the to Superior Towing, actually had to wait because of several other people waiting for their cars, and when I finally got to the window, I explained I knew about the parking spaces and had picked one that I thought was for visitors. It was way in the back, not even up front! They told me they did not care and either pay or NO CAR. I had a hotel room and it now was very late, my twins were tired and became very anxious. I had not been drinking, wasn't trying to get out of parking where I wasn't suppose too, and consider myself responsible and abide by the rules. The next day when I went to the manager at the Apartment complex, they told me there was nothing they could do because people abuse the parking and it wasn't their problem. When I explained they need to re-pave the parking lot, put up new signs, they said, yeah right! I even have pictures of the whole parking lot, and as I sat in the parking lot trying to calm down. Here comes Superior Towing again cruising the parking lot. I stepped out of my car took pictures of them and I wanting them seeing me taking them. They are a bad reflection on University Of Florida. I'm confused as to why they brand themselves as "superior towing" when "superior stealing" would be much more suitable for the "business" they conduct. We were given two decals for our apartment complex. And when I had an important meeting to go to, my car was stolen by superior stealing. So I asked my brother to give me a ride to the meeting, it turned out that his car was stolen as well. We called them regarding our cars and explained to them the situation, and they responding by claiming that the decals that we had did not belong to superior stealing and that WE had to pay THEM $235 for each car. My mom drove 3 hours to get to solve the issue with superior stealing. They checked their unorganized log books and realized they gave us the wrong decals, and simply apologized. An apology does not cover the damage they did to us, but more importantly it does the damage they continue to inflict on all of the college students living in Gainesville. read more

I'll admit. I got my car towed because I lost my decal. My fault; I understand. That's not my gripe. Superior offered to make me a new decal to replace my old one. They told me to come by at the end of the week to pick it up. I did, and it wasn't ready, and no one knew what I was talking about. All they told me was that only the owner can make decals and he hadn't been there or something. I called back the next Monday and spoke to a woman who told me she would call me when the decal was ready. I heard NOTHING back from them for three months. I had no missed calls from them that I know of and no voicemails. I called back today (3 months later) and was told that my decal has been waiting for three months, and now I have to bring in a copy of my lease in order to get my decal. She acted like it was my fault I hadn't gotten my decal, but I never received a call from them, and why would I wait this long? Obviously I want it back ASAP. I have no motivation for waiting 3 months. Anyway, they are awful, and if you care about your residents, you should find a different company to tow from your complex. Oh yeah, and I still had to pay full price to get my car back. Boo! read more

The worst company I have ever dealt with. It was 10pm at my apartment complex and there was a car in my paid parking spot for several hours. I called this company and they said they will be there in "just a few minutes." The guy on the phone told me that I have to stay in my car to ensure that my car doesn't get towed itself. Over an hour later and I'm still waiting!! I call them to see what's going on and he says they can't tow because it's under the owners name that I rent the spot from and not mine. If they had a brain in their head they would know they can tow the car regardless because the car does not have an apartment complex sticker on it, a sticker that every car needs in order to be permitted to park here. I had the owner call them directly and STILL over 2 HOURS later at 12:00am in the middle of a work/school week, exhausted, I am waiting here for a towing company that SHOULD jump right on it if they cared about money in their pocket and for their business. On top of all of this, the guy on the phone is short, rude and obnoxious. NEVER will I call this company again. Absolutely disgusting. read more
