I am trying to live with the fact that my car was towed from my friend's apartment parking lot after I brought her home from get her broken ankle taken care of (after hours so I could not get a visitors pass from the office) gotta love that roam towing. But to have the guy laugh at me when I called to find out what I had to do to get my vehicle back is unprofessional beyond belief. These people are extremely reckless when towing your vehicle. They are not conscious to the fact that some cars have lower bumpers and need to be completely lifted onto a truck as opposed to being yanked from the rear of the car and lifted up. As a result of their gross negligence, they destroyed the front bumper of my car as well as the belly pan. When getting the car appraised at an auto body shop in Gainesville, the total damages were over 3k. In addition, while at the auto body repair shop I asked the employee assisting me if Superior Towing has a history of this reckless behavior and he said, "off the record....yes." read more

My car was towed today. Not because I did not have a decal, but because the driver "couldn't see it." I still had to pay the hefty fine of $100.00 because of their ineptitude. When I went to my car and showed them the decal, they laughed at me and told me it was my fault that the pass was not visible. Their customer service (if you can call it that) is deplorable and contemptible. Grateful to be a Gator so I won't end up with a dead-end, low-life job at Superior Towing. (P.S. You suck.) read more

The worst company I have ever dealt with. It was 10pm at my apartment complex and there was a car in my paid parking spot for several hours. I called this company and they said they will be there in "just a few minutes." The guy on the phone told me that I have to stay in my car to ensure that my car doesn't get towed itself. Over an hour later and I'm still waiting!! I call them to see what's going on and he says they can't tow because it's under the owners name that I rent the spot from and not mine. If they had a brain in their head they would know they can tow the car regardless because the car does not have an apartment complex sticker on it, a sticker that every car needs in order to be permitted to park here. I had the owner call them directly and STILL over 2 HOURS later at 12:00am in the middle of a work/school week, exhausted, I am waiting here for a towing company that SHOULD jump right on it if they cared about money in their pocket and for their business. On top of all of this, the guy on the phone is short, rude and obnoxious. NEVER will I call this company again. Absolutely disgusting. read more

I will not even patronize any business that uses Superior for enforcing their Tow Away Zones, and I would advise anyone to avoid using them in case of their own emergencies. They have signs posted in (purposefully) misleading areas and take advantage of the confusion. I parked on a gravel lot next to Pascal's Coffee Shop because their paved lot was full. It had tow signs that are the same as the one they have on their parking lot, so it looks like part of the lot for Pascal's customers. Well after getting a $2 coffee I came out to find my car missing. Apparently the lot immediately behind the building is separate lot with a private owner that requires a decal (altho there is no sign indicating these facts). The situation is partly Pascal's fault since they should be taking way better care of their customers by posting warning signs on back of their building or fence and by not using same towing company to enforce their parking. So it cost me $100 and an Uber ride to get my car back. Fair warning: As other reviewers have said, there is no reasoning with the people working for this "business." When you go to get your car that they are holding for ransom, you then have to deal with unprofessional, low class, unethical, beer-bellied rednecks that make their living by "legally" carnapping others' property. Fortunately, I know that they will deal with instant karma within 48 hours, as I have returned their dark energy back to them 70x7 :P read more

Roommate had his car towed for parking in a restricted area- no problem with that. The tow-truck driver was still there and told my roommate that he could pay $50 to get the car back then and there. My roommate runs upstairs to get the cash and less than 2 minutes after saying he would wait, the driver took off. We went to pick up the car and explained the situation to the attendant and she was less than helpful. They said that 2 minutes was a "fair amount of time" to give my roommate to get up 4 flights of stairs, get the cash, and come back down. We asked to speak with the manager, and she was very combative toward us. While we were speaking with her, the driver himself pulled into the lot. We asked him how long he gave my roommate to get the cash and he was yelled at by the manager who said "Don't talk to them!" We ended up having to pay the full $100 and were lucky enough to meet the General Manager of the place in between her smoke breaks and she told us that legally they could take up to one hour to release the vehicle to us, and threatened to make us wait another 40 minutes because we were arguing our point. "Towed my daughters scooter , from her apt complex . No parking was written on the ground but was not visible when she parked ( because so many other vehicles were parked there) the guy at the office was a complete disrespectful asshole to her and her boyfriend when she tried to pick it up . I called to try to negotiate a reduction in the 250.00 fee ( almost what the scooter is worth ) and the same guy" Paul " was a smug un-helpful jerk to me as well . Sad that a towing company goes into a complex on move out weekend and tows cars that are backed in and obviously loading up belongings assisting residents. And SHAME on THE ESTATES for allowing such to happen. Perhaps you THE ESTATES SHOULD be a little more lenient on move out weekend which in case you didn't know starts on FRIDAY...and isn't just one day, SATURDAY THE 1ST of August as you mentioned...not to mention why don't you put this in your resident tips THE ESTATES, so that when residents have family members helping you move they don't get their cars towed, instead of reverting back to the contract she signed 7 months ago...sad. read more

NEGATIVE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ENRAGED! The towing of my car was nothing short of criminal behavior! I parked in a huge empty vacant lot with about 8-10 cars. I was in the new Target store, (wasn't sure where to park, per the garage being in the alley between the buildings, no signage) 10-15 minutes max and my car was gone when I walked out. (My son had a medical procedure, I needed some supplies, left him standing on a corner with crutches while I retrieved my car! The towing sign was NOT VISIBLE per cars parked IN FRONT OF IT! No special decals on any of the cars that were there! Tow truck HAD to have been waiting for me to park and leave! IS THAT EVEN LEGAL???? Could they not have asked me to move? Point out the sign? This is not blocking ANY businesses or taking a spot from a person who paid for a decal. I mean it is almost a whole block of empty space! Rude guy took my money without any explanation! Absolutely ridiculous place! My car was towed for being parked at a friends apartment complex, no signs were posted that it was a tow zone or that visitors could not park there, for ten minutes while I dropped off some packages for them. If that wasn't annoying enough I had to pay $100 dollars to get my car back and the attendant was rude and unhelpful when I explained to him that there were no signs posted. So I travel to Gainesville from Jacksonville on the regular, had to do the whole "one mile an hour under the speed limit" thing while going through Waldo during their prime when they would pull you over for one mile an hour over to give you a ticket, there were posts on AAA warning travelers going through the town to the effect it was a speed trap. So apparently Waldo police are no more, and I just learned today who picked up that torch to become the new " Waldo" mentality company right in Gainesville. You guessed it it's Superior Towing. so here's my story, going to copy and paste it everywhere just so they don't forget, and maybe just one will avoid my mishap. So I work for a large retailer that has a new location going on in Gainesville, home of my beloved Gators. I had to visit the location, and low and behold the parking lot was being repaved on the side street entrance, I saw the parking lot adjacent, full of construction vehicles and other vehicles of the type, at least three semis etc. I go in to do the business I came to do, not there even a hour, come out and low and behold there's a boot on my car. Now I realize I made the mistake, although there was a vehicle in front of sign stating restricted parking, tow away zone, and had I even noticed it, I may not have even been able to read as it is rather small and beat up, and very poor vessel to warn the public. Now I'm a big boy, I can take my licks when I make a mistake, own up to it and take responsibility and move forward. What I can't take, is the fact that the sticker was labeled 2 minutes after I arrived, a fact I know because I had to make a call when I parked, since I refrain from using cell while driving, and when I called, the driver was actually in rear of parking lot, on premise still. So he actually just sits in lot, waits for you to leave, puts boot on car, and presto $69 for "Superior Towing" which I will hence refer to as "Inferior Towing". This is a complete crock of manure. This is a practice that simply shows their lack of integrity as a company, and lack of integrity as human beings. So if you are in Gainesville, and need to park near any construction, please look everywhere for signs, they may be old, faded and even bent. Otherwise a "Grizzly Adams" looking dude with crumbs in his beard may be waiting to trap you. As a member of the human race, and one that tries his very best to do the right thing, they could have verbally warned, it's not like there was great need for parking in this lot, but no this company chooses to pick up where "Waldo" left off. The scummiest of the scummy. Today I went to Blaze Pizza and the lot was full so I pulled around and found a spot, I looked no signs around, and decided to park. It was out front of a ministry place. So I come out of place to find my truck booted, I was in there for 15 minutes and booted. I looked around and saw no sign of a tow truck so I was confused. I walked around to find a no parking sign and finally found one, it was at the bottom of a hill and behind a tree, a pretty good distance from the lot I parked in. Also if anyone has been to these lots they'd know there's about 6 separate lots and it's pretty confusing who owns what. Anyway the sign had no reference to the place I had parked. I called the number on the ticket and spoke to the Superior Towing guy. He asked me where I was and what kind of car I was in. I answered and he said he'd send a driver over to remove the boot. So I waited for about 20 minutes and see the tow truck guy walk up to me. He tells me it's gonna be $70 to remove the boot and I was pretty furious due to the lack of warning and mislabeling. Anyways I followed him to his tow truck which was 50 feet away parked in the back lot just sitting there, parked. So basically he had been there waiting for people like me, a 17 year old kid who was confused about the signs and which lot they referenced and was just trying to get a quick bite to eat. The worst part was the driver made me wait 20 minutes when he was just sitting in his truck 50 feet away. The company is a roaming company meaning they drive around and look for cars to tow. I highly discourage anyone and everyone from ever using this business as they are complete bottom feeders and the actual worst. I got my car towed from an apt's parking garage on 2nd Ave. Around 1AM, on a Wednesday. Apparently I needed a guest pass, but the people I was with (friends of a friend) forgot to mention that. Anyway, I called Superior that night and the guy on the phone told me it would be $100 to retrieve my car. He DID NOT mention, however, that that price was only for the first 24 hours. I didn't NEED my car the day after it got towed (Thursday), so I waited until Friday to pick it up. I was absolutely outraged to hear that it would now be 230 DOLLARS instead of the $100 I was expecting, due to a $50 gate fee for it being there more than 24 hours, and a $40/day charge that they also apply to the first 24 hours it was there!!! The two women at the desk said that when their employees are called, they are supposed to stress that the $100 fee is only for the first 24 hours. The man I talked to on the phone never mentioned anything about any additional charges. If I'd have known, of course I would've picked my car up immediately, but as I am not familiar with the in's and out's of a towing service, I never imagined that by waiting 36 hours to pick it up instead of 24 I'd get charged $130 more. Also, I could not finding any fees and rates [easily] on their website. Extremely grimy way of doing "business". Lesson learned from this experience - if you do get your car towed, pick it up as soon as you possibly can. read more

My daughter's car was parked in her complex and the decal fell unto the passenger seat. Her car was towed and when she went to pick up (a friend drove her) Superior tried to tow the friends car as she was sitting in it in front of the towing company. The employees (2 white male) were laughing at her as she was crying and pleading not to tow her as well. While my daughter was in the lot trying to pay for the car, a white male insisted on exact change (100.00) or she will not be able to get her car. Both of the females (19 years old) felt so afraid and unsafe around these employees. I called to speak to a manager and was told that he is not available. When I explained the situation to the guy on the other end of the phone he said "we are not in the business to make friends but make money" and hung up on me. I have contacted the landlord of the complex and requested a meeting about switching this company so no other female should go through this......... it appears from some of the reviews (yelp, Facebook, google) that this behavior is "normal" practice. I have contacted the UF police department as my daughter no longer feels safe around her complex since these people know where she lives.
