They pack am unbelievable amount and variety of Mexican foods in a small building including an extensive butcher shop, fresh bakery items, and hot foods to go. My only complaint is that as a gringo, with not nearly enough Spanish, I have a hard time buying hot food and getting what I want. The service is otherwise very good. This wonderful Mexican grocery store is owned by a nice young couple who work very hard to maintain the reputation. I moved from San Antonio to near Lexington, and I drive an hour to shop here because they have the best Mexican food in Central Texas. Their marinated meats and tamales are perfect for dinner parties. And their prepared foods are 2nd to none. We just love this little grocery store. read more

It's odd how supposed inflation doesn't seem to exist in here but we can discuss that anomaly another day. They key thing is this--absolutely delicious and fresh produce, incredible ready-to-go foods (seafood and meat), plus delicious prepared guacamole, salsa, etc., along with ultra-polite staff, security and a clean, efficient environment. I almost don't want to promote this spot just because I don't want to see the woketopians ruin it. Go to eatzis or organic markets or whatever, and pay 10 times the price for garbage that goes bad in 3 days. Or is bad already. These dudes are great. And they're REAL Texans. And they act like it. This supermarket was located just over a half mile from our hotel in Deep Ellum. It's always nice to have a grocery nearby for snacks, water and food. The market was very clean and had all products you'd see at any typical grocery store. They had a salsa corner that was serving up fresh pico de gallo, that was amazing for grocery standards. I was assaulted by the security guard over a reusable bag. This same security guard was harassing people there earlier. I was pepper sprayed in my face and he tried to pepper spray my 3lb dog in his dog bag and my wife. Friendly neighbors helped us and waited for police to arrive and luckily everything was on camera. I am better now. Just moved to Dallas a couple months ago. He impersonated an officer and chased us down the block pulled a gun and it fell on the ground and fell apart and then pepper sprayed us. I know this may sound crazy however this is the only store in the metroplex that I have been able to find strawberry banana milk and I always come here with that in mind and leave out with all other types of things. This location has a restaurant inside of it, along with a bakery that makes some of the best bread and their fruit doesn't look like it's another stores left overs. The people are friendly, the staff is helpful (yes I'm that person that had them go look for SB milk because there weren't any on the shelves) and the items are reasonably priced. read more

This is the other supermarket that I do like to shop at - even though it's probably 98% Mexican. But it's clean, shiny, and even new. And the service is friendly even if the staff is unfamiliar with non-Mexican Latin products. The prices are also good although, it's quite comparable to Fiesta. While I enjoy the scale of the store better than Fiesta, and the environment, I stick mainly to the standard grocery goods since their selection of Latin American products are lacking if you're looking for products from South America. But surprisingly, they did have the masarepa or Harina PAN to make Venezuelan arepas! I was surprised since I had inquired about it TWICE, and the staff was unable to help me or to even locate it since they could not understand what arepas were. And when I explained that it was "harina de maíz precocida" - they just took me straight to where the corn flour for tortillas were at - and the harina PAN was nowhere to be found there. Perhaps they should organize the aisles better so that the harina PAN would be where the other corn flours are, for easier discovery by both customers and staff. I must, however, recommend their bakery. Their oversized galletas de nuez powder cookies are fabulous and have become an addition. If you had Mexican wedding cookies, these are very similar, and possibly even better! read more

This is hands down my most favorite Hispanic based supermarket in the US!!! I love coming here.....its good for practicing Spanish, but also great if I just want to speak English. They say they are the king of low prices and they are. Low price fruits, hot bar, and many other items but they do not sacrifice quality. Also when places are low prices they tend to be dirty, but this one is not! . My favorite places has to be the hot bar, they have so many choices and its all good. They have a lot of the basic necessities for hispanics. They have the typical bakery, meat department, etc. So I came here to see if I could get a special wedding cake made and boy did they accommodate and not rob me blind! I wanted a heart shaped 2 tier wedding cake with butter cream frosting and the inside, a white cake with a slight almond flavor. They even did the little roses on the sides as I requested. I brought my own pillars and had a beautiful wedding cake that tasted awesome. Everyone raved about my cake and couldn't believe it was from a Mexican bakery that is in a supermarket. I also bought some of the steak and chicken that I cooked as fajitas for my wedding. They tasted great but it was a lot of work and I regret not just getting food catered. I also get my conchas and fresh salsa here. This is a great little supermercado for all your hispanic necessities. All the workers are also helpful and friendly. read more

This grocery store is like a one stop shop; it has a meat counter, a food court, a tortilleria and a bakery. Overall the service is always really good in this store and it's always very well maintained. If you're trying to find a good tres leches cake or a chocoflan, look no more. I'm honestly impressed with this store. I've been to this location a couple of times already and I love how organized and clean it is. I have been to other Rancho locations that are the opposite. They have a wide variety of pastries at the bakery section; pan dulce, all Mexican flavors for cakes, Gorditas etc. They have a food court that has the best carnitas I've ever tried! All the other food also looks really good but I've only tried the carnitas and birria. They have aguas frescas as well, they taste pre-packaged so I don't think they are natural but the food makes up for it. Best of all they great prices! read more

They serve rotten meat. Sirven carne podrido. The menudo was rotten. When I told them the cook sucked his teeth at me. After not slapping him the manage came over with a smile and gave me my money back. No response just stupid smile. And they left the rotten menudo soup there. They continued to serve this rotten food. I'm going to be looking into how to file a city complaint. It was that bad. This fr a Mexican who knows and has been eating menudo his entire life. I drove by this Mexican market in an old Office Depot location dozens of times before I stopped in one day to check out their marinated fajita meat (which is delicious by the way, if not quite up the crack-like addictiveness of that at La Michoacana). I was expecting another decent, if not spectacular, Fiesta-type, kind of weird-smelling store. I was pleasantly blown away by how clean, festive and well-stocked this place is. The walls are adorned all the way around with colorful scenes and bright colors. The first thing you see is their bakery, with an entire wall of breads, rolls and Mexican pastries on your left. To the right is a long display case filled with incredibly tall and elaborate cakes, all at very reasonable prices compared to other bakeries. There is a giant hot foods counter, tortilla machine and fresh salsa case. I did manage to create mass confusion by asking for a quart container of rice to go - apparently nobody has ever not had it as a side to their enchilada/taco plate. They have a great selection of gringo brands as well as the imported items you would expect, all at decent prices. And their meat counter is giant. If you love to grill, they've got you covered, unless you're looking for $30 steaks. There are 2 reasons that I didn't give them 5 stars. One is that they don't sell beer or wine. The other is that I've twice gone in on a Saturday to get boneless skinless chicken breasts that were in their flyer that came out on Wednesday, and both times they were out (even though they still had the sale sign on the display case). No substitution, no rain check, heck, not even a "sorry about that" now that I think about it. So get your adult beverages somewhere else and get there on Wednesday if you want cheap chicken boobies. read more

Most of the food products in this store have cancer-causing chemicals in them. Almost everything you would want to have sugar in it instead has cancer causing high fructose corn syrup in it. This store even comes fully equipped with baby water specially loaded with deadly fluoride in it! Yes the same compound you find in rat poison you can find in their baby water. Literally almost everything in this store can and will kill you... I would recommend walking across the street to Aldi where they sell organic stuff and eat there instead. read more

*Really* like this place. Brand new--just opened up a few weeks ago and they have all kinds of great stuff. I'll give them a slight edge over Fiesta. First, I'm happy someone has occupied this old OfficeMax space on lower Gaston. Second, they always have someone greeting you at the front door with a sales circular--this normally annoys me but each time I've been the person was really genuine and cool. Incredible bakery rivaling that awesome one inside Mi Tierra in San Antonio. Excellent produce section with nice, inexpensive produce (avocados are like 69 cents each!). Also they have really great fresh-made salsas--verde, roja, and some kind of evil satan one--all very good! My favorite part is the meat counter--they've got great stuff in there, admittedly about the same as Fiesta, but its really good. I'm able to get tripas (the intestine kind, not the frozen block kind) and chicharrones and even a whole pig head if I want. Half of the store is gross to me (lots of raw stinky meat pressed up against glass walls), but the other half is great. They have a hot foods line where you can get an entire cooked chicken for $6.99, as well as tacos and other cooked meats by the pound. Their fruits and veggies appeared fresh and seemed reasonably priced - 2 huge oranges or 3 little pears for under $1.50 and cabbage for $.50/lb. They didn't have a giant variety of vegetables like whole foods, but stuff was cheap. The bakery section has a ton of cakes, mostly if not all under $30. Not sheet cakes either - fancy tall ones with fruit on the top! They also have a wall of pastries that looked delicious. read more

I really like this store. This is my first visit to the store conveniently located in east dallas and near the house. The store is super clean, I mean really clean in comparison to other supermarkets of this type. It's very well lit shelves are fully stocked prices were decent in comparison very well organized a huge selection of pastries, bakery items made fresh daily it appears, also had a hot food bar and an area to eat your selection. Well she obviously thinks she's prettier than she is and obviously gets away with her rude bahavior toward customers. Servce with a smile, not her.
