I decided to splurge on a SNS set for my wedding in February and I'm so happy that I did! (Side bar: if you're on the fence about SNS, my nails were the longest and strongest they've ever been after I took them off. 10/10) My nail tech wasn't happy with how the first set came out so she re-did them to make sure they were exactly like the picture I showed her. I was happy with the first set, but knowing that she cared that my wedding nails were *picture perfect* was nice. I am a senior at Texas State. I have been to ever nail salon in San Marcos and always ended up disappointed and waiting until I went back home to get them done BUT this place changed everything. Although the exterior may seem off-putting -needs updated- this nail salon is phenomenal! I went in for a Shellac manicure and I will keep going back. The employees were very friendly and unlike other nail salons, they spoke fluent English. I went to a young guy named "Esther" and I would recommend him to anyone! I gave them a 2 cause the ladies were nice, but their work just isn't up to par! We went Saturday and here it is Wednesday and my gel toe nail polish is already coming off. I hadn't went swimming or did anything for it to come off, my nails are just bumpy and she used small tips so the don't cover my whole nail. 75 dollars and my toe nails look like my 4 year old nephew painted them and my nails are just awful. read more

We called last minute for two pedicures and they were able to take us right away. The salon appears clean and the pedicure thrones are newer. There was a bit of a communication barrier. I couldn't carry on a basic conversion. Pedicures were affordable. Under $30. However, it is quite a long process and left with rough feet. read more

I went to this place yesterday...my pedicure wasn't bad, not the best pedicure I've had but not bad. I go to sit down & get my full set on and I should have known this wasn't going to be good. From the get go, he had told his mom he didn't know how to do solar and that was a big turn off for me but then he sits back down and is like never mind, I do. He starts putting the fake nails on and I was like ok...then he starts to shape them & cut them... ALL my nails were different shapes. I thought she would be able to fix them & nope. I had one oval, one coffin, one shaped like an egg plant, one shaped like a candy corn. A DISASTER. She said "just wait for the color to be on" I did. It was still a mess. I can't believe I spent 30$ on these nails. I told her over and over again I was unhappy with it. I left 0$ tip and told them my nails were trash & now tomorrow I have to go somewhere better to get them done. I don't think I've EVER had a worse nail job in my life. DONT GO HERE if you don't like wasting money. I am still VERY UPSET. As soon as I got home I cut my own nails & they still look terrible. I will NEVER come here again. read more

I've been coming here for years but not anymore. The same lady, kim, has worked there for a long time and I recently had an experience where I tried a new salon and they messed up my nails so I came back to this salon and everything was great until I left. I had a chunk of gel still on one nail and it was already started to chip after 3 days my nails turned yellow like I'm a smoker! I'm not a smoker at all! I called and she gave me hassle about coming back but I left out of state that day i got them done and she knew I did because I told them that's why I rushed to their shop and not to the original ones who did my nails. She argued then told me to come in when I get back. I went in today and she argued with me in front of customers saying maybe I'm the reason they turned yellow and that she has lots of customers and it never happens. She finally agreed to redo them. I got seated with a nail tech and he told me the lady who did my nails original probably put a water based top coat on. So...I won't go back. read more

We went to San Marcos last Sunday. My wife wanted to have her nails taken care. We went to Super Nails as an suggestion of my friend. It was a very good experience. The owner was very fun to talk with. I think her name is Kim. Anyway, the best thing is that my wife was happy with the service. I am not a super nail person to make any comments. Waste of money! Super Terrible is what they should change their name to. The costumer service is horrible and extremely unprofessional. They do a half ass job and pay very little attention to detail. My last appointment went so bad I regret spending money on the service. The lady working on the my nails paid more attention to the television show than she did my nails. It's been one week and my nails are already needing a touch up. I feel like I wasted 45$. I will never return to "Super Nails." read more

After attempting 3 other local nail salons today (2 were closed for spring break...?, 1 was booked up) I, and my 3 sisters in law, ended up here. The place is clean, the atmosphere is comfortable, no loud music or tv, and the techs are extremely nice. They offered us bottled water or tea. Nice touch, especially for a low cost salon ($15 mani, $25 pedi). They let all of us sit in the massage chairs, including my niece, even though we weren't all getting pedis. Again, nice. They didn't chat amongst themselves in their native language constantly, which can be distracting and can become rude. Instead they engaged us in appropriate conversation, without "ruining" the relaxing experience. I got a manicure and a pedicure with nail art on my big toes (which I wasn't even charged for-BONUS!!). The water temp was perfect, the prep work and massage were amazing (not rushed and no nicks or ouches!), the hot towel was wonderful!!, and my polish looks great. Bottom line: great prices for exceptional service in a clean, comfortable salon. When I'm in need of a good mani, pedi, or both I'll definitely return. read more

Horrible first time experience trying an organic nail set for my graduation. After awhile I noticed two spots on my nails. I go to another nail salon and find out I had not one but TWO nail infections!!! The manicurist was shocked at how my nails were done. As she was taking the nails off we both had to wear mask because there was so much dust. Which she said was a classic sign that the "organic dip" was cheap and fake and that the nails weren't even done right. It scared me so bad because she said that if I had waited another week or few days then I would had probably had to lose the worser nail. Tried this place out for my eyebrows today and what a waste of $10 that was. First of all they seat you in a desk chair...the heck? Once she was "done" she showed me the results and it did not look like I'd just gotten a wax. I asked her if she could please pluck out the stray hairs but was very reluctant about it. Do not go to this place. I came here because my usual nail place was busy and I was in a rush. Bad decision. The selection of colors was sub par. They began to take off my old shellac, and I chose my color. They did not have the color. Then she began to cut my cuticles, and I select another color. They did not have this color either. I honestly tried to select another color but it was ugly. I asked how much it was for the work she had already done and they tried to tell me it was $20 for half a manicure. I said no ma'am, you did not have either of the colors I wanted and then on top of that she has not even fully done the manicure. They lowered it to $10. ---GO TO 'B NAILS'. I gave them a one because I could no give a zero. 3rd salon I've tried in San Marcos. Still disappointed. My nails where thick, poorly no horribly shape, they looked like spoons. Unfortunately, I had to wear them over Thanksgiving Holiday. Not one complimented my nails.. (Which has never happened) When I returned to have them fixed they said that was how they were suppose to look. They were thick because of the tip. Tip or no tip my nails have never been this thick. I usually keep my natural nails and I allowed her to cut them off for this.... They were lifting and I had to pay for another full set after two weeks of this mess.. My mother and I aren't that picky when it comes to nail salons, the main thing is that they need to smell good and look clean. This is my go-to nail place, although I only get pedicures. Have never had a bad job although some of the workers are better than others. Even got nail art on my big toes once for a cruise and the woman did a great job. I showed her a picture of what I wanted before she started and she didn't have to ask to see it again. It wasn't an exact copy of the picture but I liked it just as much and thought the palm tree looked nicer than in the picture! I go to other places if I'm not close to this place, but other places have cut too much or scrapped too much or the nail polish started chipping off a couple of days later, etc., or they are good one time and not good the next time. I have never had any of those issues here. This is the only place I've been in San Marcos that is consistently good. There are others with better massage chairs or nicer TVs or more TVs, but have yet to try a place that does a better job and that's more important to me. I even splurge once in a while and get one of their upgraded treatments with hot stones and/or paraffin wax! Definitely worth a try! read more

Worst set of nails I have ever had. They were lumpy and way to thick. They were unwilling to give any refund back. She wanted to add more powder to make them smoother. They were already too thick. Also implements did not appear to have been used in the autoclave for the pedicure. After she was done with my pedicure she wiped the nippers with her fingers and put them back in the drawer.
