I recently paid for a nintendo switch console here, I was pretty excited because its Christmas and im looking for a good deal. I come across the price tag of $180 for the console and as I was proceeding to purchase, a staff member separate from the transaction told the guy selling to us that "Those go for at least (280)" implying him to add on a $100 plus charge. The fact that it was priced at $180 yet they decided to up charge me $100 more is shady and ridiculous. I also proceeded to pay for the warranty and an extra controller with the warranty for that as well costing me close to $400. I paid cash but when they decided to add the extra "$100" charge/fee i felt that was false advertising and bad customer service in general, i am black as well and i havent actually had any "welcoming" service when doing business here. Well, you have to knock on the door to get in because apparently it stays locked. Red flag #1. Then after an angry faced woman let's you in, you stand waiting to be acknowledged by staff that lost their smiles and charisma long ago in a shift far, far away. The vibe is weird and unpleasant in there. Then when they quickly refused to buy a piece of jewelry brought in, I felt rushed out the door, like locking it behind me seemed emergent for the previously mentioned angry faced, door security, type woman. The whole situation felt nothing like a friendly morning of shopping and more like a shady attempt to buy and sell questionable goods. I could be wrong, but if it looks like a duck....I definitely recommend going here if you run out of street options and ghetto garage sales to go to. read more

We were looking at gold tennis bracelets- an amethyst one was $500 or above (research for a gift). Everything in the jewelry section was extremely overpriced. I'd rather go to a reputable jewelry store like Zales or Kays; I know that there are tennis bracelets for around $300 and above (not twice the price like SP). I'd also been to other pawn shops recently and was not impressed by Super Pawn but then again, I've never really had a need to shop in one of these opportunistic stores (yes, it's true I sold my wedding band from my 1st marriage, for a mere $50 at that). I just always thought that their (all pawn stores) prices were high in general. On a wall, near the jewelry, were designer bags like Coach and Dooney. I remember seeing a small Coach bag for $45. I've seen larger designer bags go for way less at Buffalo Exchange (down the street). The newer electronics (apple iPods) were in a glass case along an opposite wall. The older electronics were on the shelves nearby (but who needs tube tv's anymore?) as well as the large home electronics, like the landscape equipment and the vaccuum cleaners. There were quite a few customers in there. Some people looked shady and shifty (nervous looking). We didn't buy anything either. read more

Well it seems that ever since the show Pawn Stars has aired, it seems like every pawn shop these days now think they're on reality television. But let's face it, most pawn shops will low-ball you on items you want to sell. They make you jump through incredible hoops for a short term loan where they not only low-ball you even more but also make you feel like some kind of loser because you need some fast cash. On the bright side, the shopping experience at most pawn shops allows the buyer to get some pretty good deals. Since the experiences is often very contrasting, I'll review my local pawn shop from three perspectives: the buying experience, the selling/loan experience, and customer service. Shopping. I've been shopping at this store for years. Even when I wasn't living in the area, it's been the place I can go to get some decent gifts, electronics, and even jewelry for a decent price. The selection on items is sporadic at times. You have to really get there on good days to maximize your shopping. But overall, there's something for everyone and if you go in there ready to spend money, you will get something you want. There really wasn't much a need to haggle on prices because the ticket prices are more than affordable. That being said I've gone Christmas shopping her purchasing $5 DVDs and XBox games, low priced computers, and even my home surround sound was bought there. Customer Service. The service here is bi-polar at best. If you're buying something under the glass cases, a clerk will usually be right there to take your money. The same goes with any other big-ticket item. But try to get a clerk's attention to pull a video game from the the shelf or unplug a $20 DVD player and you might have a bit of a wait. Even though there is usually about 4 clerks behind the loan/sell counter, you can expect a wait. There's usually quite a few people there trying to pay off loans or get one. Selling/Loan. Okay, I'm going to put a personal note on this. I needed money to pay for gas for a trip to Southern California for a family emergency. I had an item that I had actually purchased two years ago from that same shop for a total of $300. I wanted to take a short term loan for $100. I didn't want to sell the item as it was something I could have easily got the same amount of money for if I wanted to sell it independently. The clerk looks up the item and says that it is an outdated model. Thus causing the value to be less. I had a feeling that this was going bad and it did. Despite the store having older like models on the shelf with a $300 tag on them, the clerk offers me an insulting $50 for item. The item was in pristine condition and I knew that if they had to sell it, they'd mark it for $300 like the others. So I countered with an $80 offer (enough to fill my gas tank to and from for my trip). The clerk then raises his offer a mere $10 making it $60. Not even enough to cover my gas expense, I plead to the clerk and tell him why I need the money. I was reasonable and polite and tried to get at least $70. The clerk wouldn't budge and began to portray a "take-it-or-leave-it" attitude. When I asked to see if a manager can approve the extra $10 dollars, the pompous twenty-something clerk says that he is the manager and that $60 was what he can offer. Desperate for the money, I take the offer which after interest will cost me $100 to pay off the loan. But what makes it even worse was that while the item being tested, other shoppers were scoping it out and offered me $250 to buy it. Unfortunately, the Super Pawn already got me. I would recommend this store if you want to buy something. But if you're looking to get a reasonable deal on a loan/sell... forget it. It's the shopping experience that keeps this place from being 2 Stars. read more

I lost my first wedding ring a few years ago, so my husband bought me a plain wedding band. I went to the Pawn Shop on Nellis yesterday, and I found a couple really pretty wedding rings. I took my wedding band off and put it in the outside pocket of my purse. I tried on the rings and decided to wait and talk to my husband. I walked out to my car and went to get the ring out of my purse and couldn't find it. I looked through my whole purse...nothing. So I went back inside thinking that I had pulled my keys out of the pocket and dropped the ring on the floor in the pawn shop. The guy who was helping me earlier was SO NICE! He helped me look everywhere. Then he walked me out to my car. On the way out to the car, he saw it on the ground in the parking lot. YAY! Tried to sell my wedding set as it was from a previous relationship and just collecting dust in my jewelry box. It is a matching his and hers set. The sets are 14k gold. The diamonds are small but total out to a full carat according to an appraisal I did when first receiving them. When I arrived at the location there was a bit of a line so I patiently waited. When I got to the counter the woman behind the counter said they were beautiful. She walked back taking measurements and entered some info in the computer. Really nice girl at the door greeting guests. I'd say that was the best part of my experience... After waiting awhile I had a pair of earrings I knew they where real 18K gold but the gentlemen told me they would not pass the test he said it kept coming up inconclusive. He told me he had been doing this for 10 years and was not interested. He was really nice about it but after waiting then feeling silly infront of everyone I went to Nevada coin and jewelry and they placed the earrings in a machine and I got a little over $300 for the earrings. I will never take any old or unwanted jewelry to super pawn again. I've sold jewelry similar to the earrings I had with me and have never received anything over $60 they are definitely not your go to place for gold that is for sure! read more

This Shop Has really went downhill recently. I have bought many thousands of dollars worth of DVD's and gold coins and many tools from this Pawnshop. Everything is fine as long as you are spending money. You run into a problem when you try to get a loan on something you bought here tho, I bought a gold coin and paid over $400.00 for it a couple months ago and when I tried to pawn it I was told that I only paid $160. for it and could only get $80. in pawn for something that I had paid over $400.00 for. The people working here ,including the so called managers have NO KNOWLEDGE of US gold coins at all and should not be selling them. I really learned a hard lesson about buying gold coins at a Pawn Shop. From now on I will spend my money at a Coin Shop and leave these crooks alone. read more

Two words.. false advertising. Came in and they had a pair of Jordan retro 5 size 10.5 and they had a tag in front of the shoe that said $80 so I asked to see them. Then the Latina lady who was helping me proceeds to tell me they were tagged wrong and that it was selling for 180. Not sure what I did wrong but this is unacceptable business practice and you all ought to be ashamed of yourselves. The tag said the shoes were Jordan retro 5's which is what the shoe was and then you want to hike up the price for no reason. Yeah that is false advertising and because of this I will no longer shop at this store. You can't just hike up prices whenever your sales people feel like it. He gives the worst service, always acts as if hes frustrated and annoyed to help. 1040 E. Flamingo Rd Las Vegas NV location......Horrible Service. I went in tonight with my kids. I planned on buying 1/4 ounce of Gold if they had any in the case. I was rudely confronted by Security to have my daughter leave her backpack outside. Now I am in here twice a week buying DVD's or loose gold. Never once in the about 30 trips was my daughter ever asked to leave her backpack. Now her backpack contains her medicine. She is Diabetic and is to never be away from her insulin. I tried informing your staff but to no avail. Your staff needs to learn about the ADA. I will be filing a complaint in regards to this treatment and will NEVER shop in any of your locations again. The store is tiny. It would have been easy to "keep an Eye" on us, but no we get chased away. read more

I Had Read Reviews About This Store Which Were Bad Reviews and I Couldn't Believe the Bad Experiences That were Written About This Pawn Shop. Now I'm a Believer . I needed to Get a 7 Inch Screen ; Laptop to Replace My Friends Wife's Asus as a Gift , So When I Went in to Pay Interest on My Second Laptop Which is an HP 2000 ,I Ran Across a Nice Looking 7inch . After Paying the Interest on My Laptop ,I Browsed and Saw a Nice Looking 7Iinch Asus Model eee. Tried it Out and It Worked Fine. I Got the Clerk to sale it for an Even $ 80.00 . I Shipped the Laptop to My Friends Wife and When She Went to turn it On , The Screen Would Not Light up. So After Checking the Possibilities of Trouble Shooting Was the End Result of Having the Laptop Sent Back to Me to Return . They Give a Thirty Day Warranty on Electronic Items. I went to Return The Laptop and Asked to Speak with "Eric " the Manager , and He Tells Me that I Needed to Check with the USPS Who Shipped the Laptop. Regardless I Feel That He Should Have Honored My Store Credit Because I Just Wanted to Exchange and Pay the Difference on another 7 Inch Laptop that I saw on the Shelf. the only reason i didnt give 5 stars was due to the amount they offered me and my wife for some items we thought were worth more. we kept said items. but i will say that as far as buying this is the best pawn shop we have came across. rey is a great sales associate , hes always helpful when we come in even though half the time were window shopping and dont always buy something. he never makes us feel like hes agitated or rushy like some other places have. and the manager randy is also great to deal with. we are mostly shoppers not sellers but the shopping experience here is awesome. i love how you get one year to upgrade. little by little we kept upgrading jewelry and now we have a nice little collection :) highly recommend this place especially for shopping purposes . read more

I'm shocked to see that this place only has 2 and a half stars! I went in here today because I found out they were selling a WII U for a pretty decent rate. I called in to verify they still had it and once confirmed I immediately drove down here today. The product was dirty but the person helping me cleaned it and she went ahead and hooked it up to the tv so we could see that it was working. We couldn't turn the control pad on because the charger that it was wrapped up with was actually a 3ds charger and the sensor was missing as well. The manager immediately got involved and went to the back to search for it. It turned out the charger was in really bad shape (wasn't usable at all). Luckily they did have another WII U. This one was in much better condition and had all the things it was supposed to come with. This one was priced a bit higher but the manager went ahead and gave me the price I was looking for without any discussion. He new exactly what I came there for and what i was expecting to pay and didn't even try to make a game out of it. I am extremely impressed and completely thrilled. This was for my daughters birthday and I am so happy that I ran into such wonderful people. Everyone was very helpful! I will definitely be coming here again.
