So far I had positive experience taking it TO the airport. However, from airport is a NIGHTMARE. Be prepared to wait for an hour at least after you check in, even with prior flight information. They simply don't care. The tracker shows driver has arrived at airport but been spending 20 mins at each terminal. Update: After contacting socialmedia@supershuttle.com, i was refunded for the trip from airport. Still hate to wait but i think.this shows that the company does care about the delay and customers. read more

If 0 stars were possible...I am too exhausted to type about my experience with this horrible service. But Yelp is making me so long story short: (1) ride arrived over an hour late; (2) driver never responded to my texts; (3) when driver arrived would not let me onto the shared ride because there were "too many bags" from other riders. Took me 10 minutes and several calls to customer service -- the driver calling to say he had to leave me -- before I got on. Honestly, just take an Uber or walk. Decembers update ...Loving the SuperShuttle! I always give flight time 30 mins earlier than it is and have had no issues at all! About a year a 1/2 of no hassle pick ups. Awesome company to work with when my flight was cancelled due to weather 10 minutes before the driver arrived they were awesome about refunding my money. I use them every 6 weeks or so, without any issue. Highly recommend! read more

I would give zero stars if I could because I got ripped. I had a 24 hour travel time to NY and once I landed I called to check in because the app wasn't telling me where the driver was. I get told it will be an hour and a half wait. Wait.... what? Yes the shared shuttle deal was too good to be true. The lady said they were short staffed and the first thing she mentions is.... would you like one to cancel? Like she was happy to cancel my shuttle..... ugh yah I guess so! It was 1030 PM and I was cranky and tired so I said yes cancel me! Got an Uber instead which was double the cost.m but whatever. I wasn't going to wait another hour and a half in a city I didn't know. Just a hint of advice..... make sure you have the Uber or lyft app before you land just in case. read more

December 4th The Avoid-this-Service Shuttle. Not super. It didn't take but maybe 45 minutes of waiting at the airport for the shuttle to get there. with 3 seats to spare - me and my friend hopped in and started the long haul. The first 25 minutes was traffic. And we noticed a trend of no braking cushion between vehicles while sitting in traffic. It was nerve racking. Then once we passed over the bridge to Manhattan, things got out right scary. Once traffic unwound in Manhattan the idiot driver decides hes a raging maniac , and whips through traffic like hes driving a mini cooper. We realized the new yorker traffic only uses the dotted lines on the street as a decorative purpose. 5 cars going 50mph apparently fit on a 3 lane 30mph road. The van was awkward, on account that theres not much breathing room having so many people smooshed up with all their coats and winter things on for such a long ride. At one point we there's some kind of block off for the Macy's day parade thing ( weird, because the Macy's day parade was the week before.. but maybe they were putting away their floats or something) but the driver pulls to the curb then gets out, passenger gets out to unload, and a cop comes over and says he cant unload the passenger here, he has to reload the luggage, reload the passenger and go across the street. Well the driver wasn't too happy about this, And I sympathized, because the drop off only takes 25 seconds, he was less then 10 seconds from done with this unload and now he has to put it all away and go somewhere else to do it. So he did a U - turn, as the cop asked, but have you ever done 2 wheels in a van? we did. So me and my friend are the last ones on the van, we get dropped off and that's that. We kissed the ground after we got out. No tip, because it felt like our life was threatened because the drivers schedule was off. $70 for 2 people to get one way was plenty, probably even over charged. Not to mention another $70 to get back to the airport. Maybe someone could tell them that instead of getting someone to their destination safely would rule over getting someone over to their destination on time. Relaxing music might help too. Slow down, take it easy. read more

I usually take the SuperShuttle to get from the city to one of the airports (usually during odd-hours going to EWR). I've always booked ahead and never had an issue with getting there on-time although you usually need 2-3 hours (during rush hour) to pick everyone else up before you head to the airport. For the first time, I booked a reservation coming from LGA (late evening arrival). I figured it might be worth it so I can nap in the van and not have to deal with the M60 bus. I booked it online a week before and just asked for my flight information. I read instructions on contacting SuperShuttle at the airport when I landed. I had an early arrival so I contacted SuperShuttle at 10 PM. After being on hold for 20 minutes (I was not happy about that), they told me that I had to wait 2 hours. I was not really happy and the reservationist suggested I just cancel (nice to offer but usually companies would try to keep your business!). She transferred me to somewhere else where I held for an additional 30 minutes. Another lady took my information and accidentally dropped my call. I called back waiting 20 minutes on hold (by this time it was 11 PM and i'm already waiting for the bus) and then got my refund. All in all, I got home by 1 AM (M60 was slow in getting to LGA and there was construction on the 2/3 line that evening). I was NOT a happy camper and probably will not book a SuperShuttle again unless if it is a REALLY late/early flight out of EWR. read more

I arrived at JFK shortly before 4pm on Monday, having booked SuperShuttle a couple of days prior. Having eventually got through the lines at immigration and customs, and having received a text message telling me where to head to to find my driver, I proceeded to the Ground Transportation desk in the arrivals area. They confirmed my reservation, and gave me a ticket indicating a pickup time of 5.34pm (by this time it was 4.50, so no great length to wait. It gave me time to use a restroom and buy a soda, anyway... As I returned to the meeting point, at maybe 5pm, my name was being called. We then waited while the driver found another couple who had been assigned to his van, loaded up and set off to other terminals to pick up, in total, a further 6 passengers. And so began the ride to Manhattan... Other reviews have mentioned the "aggressive" driving of their van driver. Ours, while never being rude to any other road user, certainly held his own in the battle for road space. He threw the van into gaps that probably weren't really big enough, and this, coupled with the state of the road surfaces in some areas of the route, did make for a less than smooth ride. But it was all part of the adventure of being a first time visitor to the Big Apple, so never mind. I did not catch the name of our driver, but he was helpful, courteous, and safe, despite the comments above. The ride was fun. His van was liberally decorated with reminders that most of the drivers' money comes from tips. I did not have enough singles to give the suggested 15%, so, as we parted outside my hotel I told him it was his lucky day and gave him a five instead of three. The fifth star has gone because at each stop to drop people off, other passengers had to get out to let us off - the couple who boarded the van with me were first off, I was second. Perhaps there's a way to ask people to sit in a particular row of seats based on the route being used around the various drop off points. It's probably only worth a half-star deduction, though. Although on this trip I am returning home from Boston, I would have no hesitation using this service again were I flying out of JFK. read more

Recently changed airport transportation method from car service( about $70 incl tax etc.) and/or Taxi( $65-up incl tax etc.) to the shared van service including Super Shuttle, especially to the Newark, because I experienced good and efficient service a couple times. Based on my three trip from/to Manhattan with shared van service, I found this service is desirable when... -You have early morning/late night flights -You have enough time and possess a great capacity of patience -You want seamless possible transportation in cheeper price(no change train or walking) But this is truly the service that equalls to the price. Here's what I have experienced and encountered. Experienced; -Without a notice, my reservation was modified and took me extra 30min to find out. Seen: At EWR, I saw customer waiting in front of the van LEFT without a discussion just because they were not at the proper meeting place, which was at welcome center inside of the terminal. There were plenty of space in the van, and I heard them saying they had a reservation, but the driver took off telling them its their fault and they need to make a new reservation although they were standing infront of the van. Me and the other passengers were like ".... ?? what does he doing?" read more

Terrible! I have used other shuttle services at different airports and it all went well. Super shuttle on the other hand was the worst! I reserved the shuttle a week in advance. We checked into the super shuttle right off the flight and were told we had to wait 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. After 30 minutes we were taken to our shuttle by a rude attendant. Once we arrived to the shuttle we were told that there was not enough room for us and we had to wait for another shuttle. The shuttle driver said he called another driver and they were going to arrive within 10 minutes. Well, TWO HOURS later, we were still waiting!! We went back to speak with the attendant who had taken us to the first shuttle and she very rudely said it wasn't her fault, it was the shuttles fault. Even the shuttle driver that arrived to pick up another party said it was our fault for not going inside to speak to the attendant sooner. I called customer service to let them know what was happening and they repeatedly told me our shuttle was on the way. There was no shuttle in sight for two hours. I ended up cancelling everything and took an Uber to my destination which only took 5 minutes to arrive. Overall the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and will never use super shuttle. read more

This was the first time I used the Supershuttle service. I used it just last week for my trip to NYC, and I was so glad I found them when searching transportation options from LaGuardia to Manhattan. I arranged for shared shuttle service round trip from the airport to my hotel and hotel to airport. Booking online couldn't be any easier. You choose the dates and approximate times and you prepay online. You can even include the tip in advance so you don't have to worry about remembering to have small bills with you. TIP: The site does ask for your flight departure time, but I bumped my time by 30 min to ensure I would get to the airport in time for check-in, security, etc., with plenty of time to spare. Once you book, you get an email confirmation with your reservation numbers and instructions. I was skeptical at how the directions on the confirmation made it seem so easy to let the service know you arrived at the airport and were ready for pick-up. But in this case, it really was a piece of cake. I found the transportation desk near Baggage Claim, and they were so helpful in notifying Supershuttle that I was ready for pick-up. They even had a small waiting area with TVs. Though my shuttle was running about 15 minutes late, I thought the driver was courteous and he zipped us to NYC as quickly as he could through the maze of traffic. The van is one of those extended vans with 3 rows of seats. I thought the van was clean and it had working seat belts. Since it was mid-January, the heat was on but not too much - the temp was comfortable. The driver dropped me off right in front and helped with my bag. Easy-peasy. For the trip back (hotel to airport), it was just as easy. I really appreciated getting a text notification the day before my scheduled departure confirming pick up time and when to be out in front of my hotel. I'm all about convenience and getting the confirmation via text put my mind at ease that we're still on schedule for my ride back to the airport, and I didn't have to follow up by phone. The van arrived within 10 minutes of my approximate time. The driver confirmed my name for pick-up and we where on our way in no time. We only had one more passenger to pick up and then it was off to the airport with no delays or issues. I've used shared services such as these for international travel, but this was the first time I used it for domestic travel. I must admit, I liked the convenience of this so much and the price was, in my opinion, very reasonable. It definitely is cheaper than a taxi if you're traveling alone or with another person. I plan on trying it again for other domestic trips where available. read more

Pre paid for the shuttle days prior. Landed at LGA and was told the shuttle was full and I would have to wait 45 minutes to 1 hour. I'm not familiar with NYC and decided to wait. 2 hours later they arrived. Worst service ever. Use the yellow taxi, Uber, Lyft, anything else. read more

NOT RELAIBLE. I booked the shuttle when travelling to Atlanta, GA. I waited for the shuttle for more than 40 minutes before calling the company. I was in the phone for 15 minutes and talked to different people that made incoherent excuses. After an unpleasant conversation I was offered to wait for the next shuttle that would arrive in 30minuts! After more than an hour of waiting of course I did not accept and had to call a taxi to get to the airport on time. I am now waiting for a refund of the service I have already paid and no answer from the company. Do not use this company! It is NOT A RELAIBLE SERVICE! read more

Best Super Shuttle experience ever! I've used Super shuttle many times over the last 6 years since I moved to LA from my native NY. For those who are unhappy with wait times, bumpy rides, sitting through endless drop offs, what do want for $20 ish? Pay $70 and take a cab. Since I'm from NY I know not to waste money on insignificant things. Of course my adult son was with me on this trip so I was very relaxed. I may not want to use this ride share alone. Tonight we had Khalid. He was super accommodating without being annoying. He let me sit in the front which for me is a must (prone to carsickness). He let us be the number 3 drop off despite being on the west side. He kept taking add on calls while on the way out of JFK. I admire someone who doesn't turn down an opportunity Thank you Khalid and thank you the lovely Super Shuttle concierges at the welcome center. A pleasant experience from start to finish! Just be aware of how it works so you can appreciate their service. read more

Half the Price, Three Times the Wait I would normally take a cab from JFK to Manhattan, but decided to see if I could save a few bucks by giving SuperShuttle a try. Ordering online was easy, and the $25 price (including tip) was about half what a cab would cost. When I arrived at JFK I called and told them to pick me up in about 20 minutes after I had collected my luggage. The woman told me to call back after I had gotten my luggage. SuperShuttle doesn't wait for you; you wait for SuperShuttle. Sure enough, after I had my luggage, I called back and was told it would be about 15-20 minute wait. Actual time: 25 minutes After getting in the van, we circled the airport MANY times picking up more passengers. The van had a capacity of 11, and the driver wasn't going to leave until it was full. I am 200lbs+ and the guy next to me was even bigger. Together, we easily filled the front bench seat. But it has an official capacity of 3 people, so we circled that airport one more time until there was another poor soul to squeeze in. Elapsed time: 40 minutes Packed in like sardines we headed for Manhattan. There were stops to be made all over the island. Unfortunately, my destination on the Upper West Side did not put me near the top of the list. We went through the midtown tunnel and snaked our way uptown. I wasn't the last person dropped off, but still, the trip took about 90 minutes. So the result: SFO-JFK: 5 1/2 hours in quiet comfort JFK to NYC: 2 1/2 hours in a crowded noisy van It made the whole trip seem so much longer. I am a four million mile frequent flier that has been regularly using Super Shuttle in multiple cities (e.g. LAX, PHX, BWI, NYC, EWR, etc..) for more than 200 rides during the past twelve years. I regularly find the Company's service to be solid & reliable and their employees to be honest & responsible. Their rates are very fair when comparing other options for modes of transportation (e.g. taxi, limo, shuttle, car service, etc..). I encourage everyone to make an advance reservation when ever possible, as I have found that this increases the likelihood of a smooth and enjoyable experience. I had already booked before checking Yelp, which I guess worked out OK for us in the end, otherwise, I might have been too scared to use them so here is my experience. We didn't have a horrible experience at all with SuperShuttle, we booked them directly through the airport at LaGuardia. We were clueless on what else to do. Here is a quick summary: Definitely cheaper than a taxi. You can chill at the airport seating and just wait for them to call your name. They were polite and loading luggage was fast and easy. Cons: Takes quite a bit of time to arrive at your destination and don't necessarily board at the time quoted on your ticket. Not a good option if you need to be somewhere at a certain time, so we did not use this service for our return trip to the airport. But for getting to our hotel when we had no timeline? Great service from LGA to Long Island. Much cheaper than what a cab would have been. Since I had two experiences with super shuttle, I would say that my review ranked an overall 4 stars. Going to Long Island, I didn't reserve the shuttle ahead of time and had to wait for 40 minutes. It wasn't that bad of a wait, actually. I had nowhere to be. I was in the van with two other people and it had a slight stench of must but I've been in worse situations so it wasn't that bad. My biggest problem with this ride was the driver tapping away on his navigation device for most of the trip. Any time anyone is distracted from driving (and I'm in the vehicle with them especially) it makes me incredibly nervous. Please don't let me die, Mr. Shuttle Driver. But we got to my hotel in Plainview safely. A week later, I needed the shuttle again and used the 5% discount (although yelp offers 10%--I didn't know that). My shuttle arrived right on time and the driver was really awesome. Much cheaper than a cab. I can't express that enough. read more

I would like to say that I normally support Super Shuttle, and I will continue using them, but I did have a HORRIBLE experience. I was picked up in a van that smelled like an entire can of air freshener had been used. It was floral, and floral scents are a migraine trigger for me. The windows are sealed shut, so i asked to sit in the front seat with the window rolled down. I was told, "No there was a spill. The seat is wet." I wonder if that's why he emptied an entire can of air freshener in the car? Regardless I was the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off and I was TRAPPED inside the van for an hour and a half. I was nauseous and wanted to die the ENTIRE RIDE. He also didn't call people once we arrived and we waited for like 15 min outside of one person's house for them to come out. He never gave us an update or anything. It was just us sitting there wondering wtf? Next time if there's a smell, I'm getting out and paying the triple fee to take a cab. I'll never suffer like this again. I'm waiting to see if i get reimbursed for my pain and suffering, (free fare) and if not I'll seriously reconsider going with them again. Going to San Francisco from the airport was fine, driver was friendly and car was clean and new. Going back to the airport 2 weeks later, same arrangements with Super Shuttle it was horrible. Old broken down van and driver was very rude. I emailed and complained but they said that is what I agreed to. Which is not true. No refund! I was traveling with my wife and 2 kids from Miami to NYC for a few days. My wife is disabled and has to use a scooter to get around. I didn't want any stress or problems getting back and forth between the airport and hotel. I knew the accessible taxis at the airport were t big enough for all of us with luggage, so I contacted a limo company and paid $300 each way for a large accessible van. When they showed up at the airport, it was a minivan the same size as the accessible taxi, which we could not fit in. After the limo dispatcher cussed me out, I sent them on their way and American Airlines helped us get on a private bus to the hotel, but only after a 3 hour wait. Since I no longer trusted the limo companies to give us what we needed, I turned to SuperShuttle to book a private shuttle. I was very nervous after reading all of the bad reviews of SS canceling their rides an hour before the pickup time, but I decided to chance it because at least I knew if they did show up they would have a vehicle that was big enough. About 2 hours before pickup time I saw in the app that our driver was assigned and on his way. I felt better at that point, but not 100%. It also showed the type of vehicle, which was a Ford T350, which I was able to lookup and see that it was plenty big enough. About 20 minutes prior to pickup time I saw on the map that our driver was already nearby and waiting. And indeed at exactly our pickup time of 11:55am I saw the big blue van pull up. The distinctive markings also makes it easy to know our ride is there without looking for one of hundreds of black vans and SUVs driving around. The van had a lift that made it easy for my wife to get in the van, and get off of her scooter to sit in a regular seat instead of having to sit on the scooter being tossed around like most other services we have used. For less than half the price of the black car service we got a much better vehicle and an overall pleasant experience. Although the reviews of canceled bookings will still be in my mind, unless I find something that will provide a similar service with greater reliability then SuperShuttle will be our first choice when traveling in the future. read more

The company had our flight number at LAGUARDIA, and then took us to Newark. Then, they had the audacity to say it was my fault for confirming the wrong shuttle. Why would they ask for my flight information at a different airport? Do NOT use this service, as the management staff is UNACCEPTABLE. read more

If you are taking them from Newark they text you to go to the welcome sign at baggage claim which is impossible to find if you are anywhere other than baggage claim 1 - hint do not go outside the desk is inside all the way at the furthest end of baggage claim. Also don't add a tip when you charge it or your driver may never get it. You get what you pay for though - $100 cab ride into Manhattan from Newark is only $21 with Super Shuttle. read more

Super Shuttle is unconscionably terrible. My ride on the trip out was pretty lousy, running a little late and taking forever such that I really had to rush to get the plane, but tonight's has been so terrible that I've spent most of the ride doubled over laughing in the van, unable to believe that a company could mess up a van service so badly. I had scheduled them to pick me up at JFK at 6:30 for a ride to Morningside. I understand that shuttles don't run exactly on schedule and take roundabout routes to drop others off... But they left me waiting at the airport for more than an hour, telling me that each shuttle that passed wasn't mine. Finally I got on one. The driver took us on an unnecessary detour through Flushing, then drove right by where I should have been dropped off without stopping even though I pointed out where I was going. He wound up dropping people off at Central Park, in Times Square and kept heading downtown. Finally, he called back to the other remaining person on the shuttle to clarify her address, which was another ten blocks downtown. When he finally doubled back to go to my stop, he nearly missed the exit. The 6:30 shuttle didn't get in until close to 11! American Airlines got me from Central America to NYC faster than Super Shuttle could get me from JFK to 121st street. Note: I wrote this review a few weeks ago, but couldn't post it because I was on the shuttle for so long that my cell phone died. read more

If you're prone to car sickness, then don't use Super Shuttle. We discovered this service upon arriving at Newark Airport and needed a ride to our stay in East Village in Manhattan. The 'Transportation' counter at the airport recommended that we take this service, it would be $23 for the first person, and the second person would be another $10. For $33, it was definitely cheaper than taking other transit options. We waited for about 20 minutes for our shuttle, then they filled up the shuttle with 7 other people. The driver was a bit aggressive at times, swerving and swinging at several corners. The ride was a bit rough, and it took approximately an hour to arrive at our destination. We basically took a quick tour of Manhattan, as the driver had to make multiple stops to drop everybody off. For my departure from NYC, I booked a Super Shuttle online, and prepaid. Even though my flight was at 2:30pm, the time slot that was scheduled for me was 10:00am. A bit early, but I guess it's better to be early. The shuttle arrived 15 minutes later than the scheduled time. Again, the ride was a bit crazy at times, but it was good that the driver had the AC turned on so it was relatively comfortable. I arrived at Newark within an hour. Guess this is more of a 'miss' service as it really depends which driver you get, as some can be friendlier than others. read more

I used to be a huge fan and user. I've come to conclude they stink in nyc. They started calling me an hour before my pick up time. The driver arrived an hour early and told me to hurry and come down because the van is full. I told him he was an hour early and I would not come down. Then he asked me for a tip.after he dropped me off. For some reason super shuttle and golden van both called me 8 times. Have they merged? Over time their drivers speak worse English, they have become less organized. And at $25 they are not cheap. I realized uber pool is about the same price with less aggravation and I can book it closer to my flight time vs leaving 3 hours before. I'm done with super shuttling. read more

This is the most incompetent shuttle service I've ever been to. I was told that even though I booked my shuttle in advance that it would take 30 minutes to get to me. Okay. 30 minutes go by and I check in to see where the drivers was at. They said sometimes it takes a while for the driver to get around the airport so I sat back in the area they told me to sit in and waited.
