Disgusting. Avoid at all costs. Literally you should walk to your destination in the snow before deciding to book with super shuttle out of JFK. Was communicated to me that I would be waiting 15/20 min for the shuttle and that it might be more at peak times. My reservation was off peak and it took the driver 75 min to get through two terminals! Mine was the last terminal. Dispatch promised me a refund and free ride if they didn't show up in 10 min. 4 min later when I checked the map for their status, my ride was "complete" and I could no longer see the shuttle. I called back, sorry that was a mistake. 15 min later still nothing. Got an email saying my ride was cancelled. Zero mention of this free ride, zero effort to compensate for the wasted time, zero customer service at all. AVOID. read more

We will never use SuperShuttle in the future. We were not able to schedule our pickup time. Instead SuperShuttle schedules the pickup time based solely on the flight schedule. In our case for 12 travelers the pickup time was scheduled much closer to our flight time than we were comfortable with, leaving zero allowance for traffic or other unexpected issues that might arise. To make matters worse, our shuttle never arrived and we were stranded. Fortunately we were leaving from Times Square in NYC and there were taxis coming and going. We ended up renting three van-type taxis and we barely made it to the airport on time. In fact, our flight was boarding while we were running to get to gate before they closed the door. The thing we learned was we could rent taxis on the spot for less than the SuperShuttle cost, without any of the hassle of scheduling in advance and hoping the shuttle arrives on time--or not at all. Best Super Shuttle experience ever! I've used Super shuttle many times over the last 6 years since I moved to LA from my native NY. For those who are unhappy with wait times, bumpy rides, sitting through endless drop offs, what do want for $20 ish? Pay $70 and take a cab. Since I'm from NY I know not to waste money on insignificant things. Of course my adult son was with me on this trip so I was very relaxed. I may not want to use this ride share alone. Tonight we had Khalid. He was super accommodating without being annoying. He let me sit in the front which for me is a must (prone to carsickness). He let us be the number 3 drop off despite being on the west side. He kept taking add on calls while on the way out of JFK. I admire someone who doesn't turn down an opportunity Thank you Khalid and thank you the lovely Super Shuttle concierges at the welcome center. A pleasant experience from start to finish! I have used and recommended Super Shuttle many times over the years. At first, the system worked great, but now it's totally unorganized and just overall bad service. For a pick-up scheduled at 10:30am, they ended up showing up at 11:25am!! I called them 3 times, and each time, they told me: the driver's 15 min late, or he just 5 min. away, and every time, 15min. became 25min and 5 min. became 15min, and so on... Then I asked to speak to a manager, and complained to him, but he couldn't care less. He barely apologized and when I said I wouldn't use the shuttle or recommend them anymore, all he had to say was: NO PROBLEM. What kind of answer is that???? Bottom line: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you don't want to miss your flight!!! They're inexpensive but if you end up missing your flight because of their tardiness, then it'll cost you a lot more, but of course, SupperShuttle doesn't care cause they don't take responsibility if you miss your flight. So I have to agree with someone else who was saying that when it works, SuperShuttle is a fairly good and inexpensive service. However, when it doesn't work and they make a mistake, they are rude and have no system in place to fix the problem. read more

I take SuperShuttle both directions between Manhattan and EWR. The negative reviews are surprising to me, but I expect hotel location is a big factor. Staying at WTC (Downtown) usually makes me the first drop-off on the way in from EWR and the last pickup on the way out... my SuperShuttle journeys are always short. Aside from that, their website is great. I can easily process bookings and track the inbound vehicle on my iPad. That means I can enjoy my coffee from the comfort of the lobby, rather than waiting at the curb. Actually, there is a negative!!! Other passengers aren't always considerate. I've waited outside other hotels while passengers finish getting ready to leave their hotel. Staying downtown, I'll take SuperShuttle everytime. For Midtown think about the AirTrain. read more

If i could rate this company zero I would... Better off walking,crawling or hitchiking...than using this shuttle (non)service,i use the word service loosely.. Driver turned up at hotel and refused to take my bike even though we had booked and paid for it and i have carried it all over america without an issue.. He then told me the only way to get on the bus was to leave my bike in hotel..yer right!! I showed him that the bike would fit easily but he disagreed he rang supervisor we rang supervisor and it become a yelling match and at 1 point he actually shaped upto me...thinging i was gunna get knocked to the ground the concierge of the hotel stepped in and told me just to catch a cab,i insisted that i had paid for the service but the responce was the driver wanted me to pay an additionl $85(cash by the way) for the bike because he would not be able to fit in 5 other ppl,he said if i didnt want to pay it then to get lost.. He told me the only way to fit the bike was to lay the cardboard bikebox down flat so he could pack all other suitcases on top...think he must have been smoking something... Tossed the bike out, told me to take it up with his supervisor cause i was making him run late... He continued yelling and swearing at me got back into his vehicle and drove off... We have since contacted their customer service and they agreed the money needs to be returned to me...do you think i have it yet...6 weeks after still no sign of it!!! I write this as I am still in the Super shutle...after 2.5 hours. Check in before you get your luggage as you will need to wait 20-35 min after check in tp be picked up. Dont think that means you are on your way...after being picked up and seeing the van stop at each terminal i was still going in circles for an hour until the driver picked up enough people. I live in times square and he's dropping off ppl in the LES and all over Manhattan. What a waste of my precious sleep time. Next time ill take the express bus for $16 and a taxi from the bus station. It will be much quicker and the same price if not cheaper. I took super shuttle thinking itd be a lil faster than the train at 10pm. What a joke. Maybe after 3 hours I'll be at my door. I was traveling with my wife and 2 kids from Miami to NYC for a few days. My wife is disabled and has to use a scooter to get around. I didn't want any stress or problems getting back and forth between the airport and hotel. I knew the accessible taxis at the airport were t big enough for all of us with luggage, so I contacted a limo company and paid $300 each way for a large accessible van. When they showed up at the airport, it was a minivan the same size as the accessible taxi, which we could not fit in. After the limo dispatcher cussed me out, I sent them on their way and American Airlines helped us get on a private bus to the hotel, but only after a 3 hour wait. Since I no longer trusted the limo companies to give us what we needed, I turned to SuperShuttle to book a private shuttle. I was very nervous after reading all of the bad reviews of SS canceling their rides an hour before the pickup time, but I decided to chance it because at least I knew if they did show up they would have a vehicle that was big enough. About 2 hours before pickup time I saw in the app that our driver was assigned and on his way. I felt better at that point, but not 100%. It also showed the type of vehicle, which was a Ford T350, which I was able to lookup and see that it was plenty big enough. About 20 minutes prior to pickup time I saw on the map that our driver was already nearby and waiting. And indeed at exactly our pickup time of 11:55am I saw the big blue van pull up. The distinctive markings also makes it easy to know our ride is there without looking for one of hundreds of black vans and SUVs driving around. The van had a lift that made it easy for my wife to get in the van, and get off of her scooter to sit in a regular seat instead of having to sit on the scooter being tossed around like most other services we have used. For less than half the price of the black car service we got a much better vehicle and an overall pleasant experience. Although the reviews of canceled bookings will still be in my mind, unless I find something that will provide a similar service with greater reliability then SuperShuttle will be our first choice when traveling in the future. read more

My flight was canceled, and they said they would accommodate my changes. They picked us up at 6:30 am promptly.... AND THEN TOOK US TO THE WRONG AIRPORT. The company had our flight number at LAGUARDIA, and then took us to Newark. Then, they had the audacity to say it was my fault for confirming the wrong shuttle. Why would they ask for my flight information at a different airport? Do NOT use this service, as the management staff is UNACCEPTABLE. read more

December 4th The Avoid-this-Service Shuttle. Not super. It didn't take but maybe 45 minutes of waiting at the airport for the shuttle to get there. with 3 seats to spare - me and my friend hopped in and started the long haul. The first 25 minutes was traffic. And we noticed a trend of no braking cushion between vehicles while sitting in traffic. It was nerve racking. Then once we passed over the bridge to Manhattan, things got out right scary. Once traffic unwound in Manhattan the idiot driver decides hes a raging maniac , and whips through traffic like hes driving a mini cooper. We realized the new yorker traffic only uses the dotted lines on the street as a decorative purpose. 5 cars going 50mph apparently fit on a 3 lane 30mph road. The van was awkward, on account that theres not much breathing room having so many people smooshed up with all their coats and winter things on for such a long ride. At one point we there's some kind of block off for the Macy's day parade thing ( weird, because the Macy's day parade was the week before.. but maybe they were putting away their floats or something) but the driver pulls to the curb then gets out, passenger gets out to unload, and a cop comes over and says he cant unload the passenger here, he has to reload the luggage, reload the passenger and go across the street. Well the driver wasn't too happy about this, And I sympathized, because the drop off only takes 25 seconds, he was less then 10 seconds from done with this unload and now he has to put it all away and go somewhere else to do it. So he did a U - turn, as the cop asked, but have you ever done 2 wheels in a van? we did. So me and my friend are the last ones on the van, we get dropped off and that's that. We kissed the ground after we got out. No tip, because it felt like our life was threatened because the drivers schedule was off. $70 for 2 people to get one way was plenty, probably even over charged. Not to mention another $70 to get back to the airport. Maybe someone could tell them that instead of getting someone to their destination safely would rule over getting someone over to their destination on time. Relaxing music might help too. I usually take the SuperShuttle to get from the city to one of the airports (usually during odd-hours going to EWR). I've always booked ahead and never had an issue with getting there on-time although you usually need 2-3 hours (during rush hour) to pick everyone else up before you head to the airport. For the first time, I booked a reservation coming from LGA (late evening arrival). I figured it might be worth it so I can nap in the van and not have to deal with the M60 bus. I booked it online a week before and just asked for my flight information. I read instructions on contacting SuperShuttle at the airport when I landed. I had an early arrival so I contacted SuperShuttle at 10 PM. After being on hold for 20 minutes (I was not happy about that), they told me that I had to wait 2 hours. I was not really happy and the reservationist suggested I just cancel (nice to offer but usually companies would try to keep your business!). She transferred me to somewhere else where I held for an additional 30 minutes. Another lady took my information and accidentally dropped my call. I called back waiting 20 minutes on hold (by this time it was 11 PM and i'm already waiting for the bus) and then got my refund. All in all, I got home by 1 AM (M60 was slow in getting to LGA and there was construction on the 2/3 line that evening). I was NOT a happy camper and probably will not book a SuperShuttle again unless if it is a REALLY late/early flight out of EWR. read more

I arrived at JFK shortly before 4pm on Monday, having booked SuperShuttle a couple of days prior. Having eventually got through the lines at immigration and customs, and having received a text message telling me where to head to to find my driver, I proceeded to the Ground Transportation desk in the arrivals area. They confirmed my reservation, and gave me a ticket indicating a pickup time of 5.34pm (by this time it was 4.50, so no great length to wait. It gave me time to use a restroom and buy a soda, anyway... As I returned to the meeting point, at maybe 5pm, my name was being called. We then waited while the driver found another couple who had been assigned to his van, loaded up and set off to other terminals to pick up, in total, a further 6 passengers. And so began the ride to Manhattan... Other reviews have mentioned the "aggressive" driving of their van driver. Ours, while never being rude to any other road user, certainly held his own in the battle for road space. He threw the van into gaps that probably weren't really big enough, and this, coupled with the state of the road surfaces in some areas of the route, did make for a less than smooth ride. But it was all part of the adventure of being a first time visitor to the Big Apple, so never mind. I did not catch the name of our driver, but he was helpful, courteous, and safe, despite the comments above. The ride was fun. His van was liberally decorated with reminders that most of the drivers' money comes from tips. I did not have enough singles to give the suggested 15%, so, as we parted outside my hotel I told him it was his lucky day and gave him a five instead of three. The fifth star has gone because at each stop to drop people off, other passengers had to get out to let us off - the couple who boarded the van with me were first off, I was second. Perhaps there's a way to ask people to sit in a particular row of seats based on the route being used around the various drop off points. It's probably only worth a half-star deduction, though. Although on this trip I am returning home from Boston, I would have no hesitation using this service again were I flying out of JFK. read more

Recently changed airport transportation method from car service( about $70 incl tax etc.) and/or Taxi( $65-up incl tax etc.) to the shared van service including Super Shuttle, especially to the Newark, because I experienced good and efficient service a couple times. Based on my three trip from/to Manhattan with shared van service, I found this service is desirable when... -You have early morning/late night flights -You have enough time and possess a great capacity of patience -You want seamless possible transportation in cheeper price(no change train or walking) But this is truly the service that equalls to the price. Here's what I have experienced and encountered. Experienced; -Without a notice, my reservation was modified and took me extra 30min to find out. Seen: At EWR, I saw customer waiting in front of the van LEFT without a discussion just because they were not at the proper meeting place, which was at welcome center inside of the terminal. There were plenty of space in the van, and I heard them saying they had a reservation, but the driver took off telling them its their fault and they need to make a new reservation although they were standing infront of the van. Me and the other passengers were like ".... ?? what does he doing?" read more

Terrible! I have used other shuttle services at different airports and it all went well. Super shuttle on the other hand was the worst! I reserved the shuttle a week in advance. We checked into the super shuttle right off the flight and were told we had to wait 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. After 30 minutes we were taken to our shuttle by a rude attendant. Once we arrived to the shuttle we were told that there was not enough room for us and we had to wait for another shuttle. The shuttle driver said he called another driver and they were going to arrive within 10 minutes. Well, TWO HOURS later, we were still waiting!! We went back to speak with the attendant who had taken us to the first shuttle and she very rudely said it wasn't her fault, it was the shuttles fault. Even the shuttle driver that arrived to pick up another party said it was our fault for not going inside to speak to the attendant sooner. I called customer service to let them know what was happening and they repeatedly told me our shuttle was on the way. There was no shuttle in sight for two hours. I ended up cancelling everything and took an Uber to my destination which only took 5 minutes to arrive. Overall the customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and will never use super shuttle. read more

I used to be a huge fan and user. I've come to conclude they stink in nyc. They started calling me an hour before my pick up time. The driver arrived an hour early and told me to hurry and come down because the van is full. I told him he was an hour early and I would not come down. Then he asked me for a tip.after he dropped me off. For some reason super shuttle and golden van both called me 8 times. Have they merged? Over time their drivers speak worse English, they have become less organized. And at $25 they are not cheap. I realized uber pool is about the same price with less aggravation and I can book it closer to my flight time vs leaving 3 hours before. I'm done with super shuttling. read more

This is the most incompetent shuttle service I've ever been to. I was told that even though I booked my shuttle in advance that it would take 30 minutes to get to me. Okay. 30 minutes go by and I check in to see where the drivers was at. They said sometimes it takes a while for the driver to get around the airport so I sat back in the area they told me to sit in and waited. And hour goes by and still nothing I check in and they said my driver had already come in and looked for me and left which was completely impossible since I was sitting in the designated area that they told me to and no one had gone bye. This was the first time I used the Supershuttle service. I used it just last week for my trip to NYC, and I was so glad I found them when searching transportation options from LaGuardia to Manhattan. I arranged for shared shuttle service round trip from the airport to my hotel and hotel to airport. Booking online couldn't be any easier. You choose the dates and approximate times and you prepay online. You can even include the tip in advance so you don't have to worry about remembering to have small bills with you. TIP: The site does ask for your flight departure time, but I bumped my time by 30 min to ensure I would get to the airport in time for check-in, security, etc., with plenty of time to spare. Once you book, you get an email confirmation with your reservation numbers and instructions. I was skeptical at how the directions on the confirmation made it seem so easy to let the service know you arrived at the airport and were ready for pick-up. But in this case, it really was a piece of cake. I found the transportation desk near Baggage Claim, and they were so helpful in notifying Supershuttle that I was ready for pick-up. They even had a small waiting area with TVs. Though my shuttle was running about 15 minutes late, I thought the driver was courteous and he zipped us to NYC as quickly as he could through the maze of traffic. The van is one of those extended vans with 3 rows of seats. I thought the van was clean and it had working seat belts. Since it was mid-January, the heat was on but not too much - the temp was comfortable. The driver dropped me off right in front and helped with my bag. Easy-peasy. For the trip back (hotel to airport), it was just as easy. I really appreciated getting a text notification the day before my scheduled departure confirming pick up time and when to be out in front of my hotel. I'm all about convenience and getting the confirmation via text put my mind at ease that we're still on schedule for my ride back to the airport, and I didn't have to follow up by phone. The van arrived within 10 minutes of my approximate time. The driver confirmed my name for pick-up and we where on our way in no time. We only had one more passenger to pick up and then it was off to the airport with no delays or issues. I've used shared services such as these for international travel, but this was the first time I used it for domestic travel. I must admit, I liked the convenience of this so much and the price was, in my opinion, very reasonable. It definitely is cheaper than a taxi if you're traveling alone or with another person. Not only that but i got no call, email, or notification on the app. I called to find out where my driver was and the person on the phone said "no one is coming". This is at midnight in 5 degree weather (but roads are bare and dry). I have had good luck with SuperShuttle in Texas but will never use them again. One time stranded is one time too many. Here's my advice: take Super Shuttle TO the airport, but NEVER FROM. I've taken SuperShuttle in a few different cities, and have found my experience fairly uniform over several years. Thus far, anytime I've ordered a ride to an airport, the pick up has been on time, and I've arrived in plenty of time for my flight. Sure, some of the rides have been long, especially packed like sardines in the van, but I've arrived ok at a good price. (Now that I see others' experience in reviews here, I'm feeling a little wary about saying this.) By contrast, airport pick-ups have been just awful every single time. One time, reserved passengers waited in the van for close to an hour at JFK, so the driver could go try to drum up more passengers at various terminals. Then, the route went all over Manhattan. Total time to get home: 4 hours. The absolute classic was at Burbank about 5 years ago -- a small airport in the Los Angeles area that was 20-30 minutes from my destination at night. My flight arrived around 9pm. I was done with baggage claim and on the shuttle in a few minutes. The affable Super Shuttle driver was sitting in his van, waiting for the 2 other reserved passengers. A little pleasant patter, we're all settled in and the driver seems ready to roll. But, no: instead he exits the van without comment, sits down on a bench with a couple of other drivers, and they play backgammon, smoke cigarettes and drink coffee for AN HOUR. At some point, out of the dark emerged a new, unreserved passenger, who spoke to the driver and got in the van. Maybe this is what he waiting for?! No, the game went on. The airport closes at 10, lights out and all, so there was no question of pissing this guy off by complaining. This was pre-Uber, Lyft, et al. and there was no other way home, unless we wanted to wait in the dark deserted airport waiting for an unreliable LA cab. So we sat, silently, as if everyone understood that one word would unleash a contagious but useless fury in all of us. Eventually, affable as before, the driver hopped back without a single word about the delay. Time to get home on this adventure: 2-1/2 hours Burbank finally convinced me to never, ever use Super Shuttle again for airport pickups, and I can see by reviews here and elsewhere that there's been no improvement. read more

I continued to check for each prompted request. While in the airport I missed one call. I called back a few minutes later and the operator shared they had been trying unsuccessfully for a long time to get in touch with me and the shuttle would be over an hour if I would like to wait. I used them to get to the hotel from Newark Airport and the driver was loud, hostile and offensive towards other drivers including yelling and arguing on the road. The service ordered from the hotel to JFK, the driver was super late, and after three attempts to reach him, I was unsuccessful and therefore, I did not use them and had to call for a yellow cab. Not sure about all the negative reviews. Just got back to SF from NY today. Was looking at cheaper options of getting from Manhattan to JFK as the train takes more than 1 hr and Uber/Lyft/etc are all $30+. Had an early, 730am flight. I googled "JFK van" and Super Shuttle came up. The website looked legit and so I put in my route, was able to locate my flight details and SuperShuttle showed me the time my van would come. It was $22 + I gave my driver a $2 tip. I did this at 10pm the night before a 730am flight. I was skeptical and figured I would dispute the charge if the service didn't show up and just take a Pool or Line. They told me I would be picked up between 4:40am and 4:50am. I was up at 4:20, got a text from SS saying my van was on it's way and started to monitor via their website (you can track the van in real time). It was a bit later than expected (around 5am) when the van arrived. The driver showed up to where I was staying, put my bag in the car and off we went. 30 minutes later and a van with 3 other people we arrived at JFK. Hopped out and that was it. IMO it was worth the $10-$15 savings you would get from UberPool or Lyft Line and I saved $40 versus taking a standalone cab/uber/lyft. Overall, really solid experience and I have 0 complaints. Would definitely use it again. read more

NOT RELAIBLE. I booked the shuttle when travelling to Atlanta, GA. I waited for the shuttle for more than 40 minutes before calling the company. I was in the phone for 15 minutes and talked to different people that made incoherent excuses. After an unpleasant conversation I was offered to wait for the next shuttle that would arrive in 30minuts! After more than an hour of waiting of course I did not accept and had to call a taxi to get to the airport on time. I am now waiting for a refund of the service I have already paid and no answer from the company. Do not use this company! It is NOT A RELAIBLE SERVICE! read more

This company is a piece of carp, I used their service a couple of times in the past and I had minors set backs like the app sending texts of the driver being outside when he was just starting the route and in another occasion it was too packed but I paid it no mind. Today they outdid themselves in terms of bad service, my international flight is departing at 8:44 pm and my schedule pick up was 4:00 pm four hours prior but I thought is better safe than sorry, around 2:50 pm they just send a text saying that the had no drivers and that my card was refunded, I called them and asked them to schedule another ride because cancelled the reservation in less than 24 hr without any consideration for the transportation and financial situation of the customer a cap to the airport is 60+, the person gave to flying craps and just kept repeating that supershuttle refunded the money and I was up to me to find an alternative, this is just an hour notice and they acted like it was my responsibility, I will never recommend this service to anybody ever again. read more

Half the Price, Three Times the Wait I would normally take a cab from JFK to Manhattan, but decided to see if I could save a few bucks by giving SuperShuttle a try. Ordering online was easy, and the $25 price (including tip) was about half what a cab would cost. When I arrived at JFK I called and told them to pick me up in about 20 minutes after I had collected my luggage. The woman told me to call back after I had gotten my luggage. SuperShuttle doesn't wait for you; you wait for SuperShuttle. Sure enough, after I had my luggage, I called back and was told it would be about 15-20 minute wait. Actual time: 25 minutes After getting in the van, we circled the airport MANY times picking up more passengers. The van had a capacity of 11, and the driver wasn't going to leave until it was full. I am 200lbs+ and the guy next to me was even bigger. Together, we easily filled the front bench seat. But it has an official capacity of 3 people, so we circled that airport one more time until there was another poor soul to squeeze in. Elapsed time: 40 minutes Packed in like sardines we headed for Manhattan. There were stops to be made all over the island. Unfortunately, my destination on the Upper West Side did not put me near the top of the list. We went through the midtown tunnel and snaked our way uptown. I wasn't the last person dropped off, but still, the trip took about 90 minutes. So the result: SFO-JFK: 5 1/2 hours in quiet comfort JFK to NYC: 2 1/2 hours in a crowded noisy van It made the whole trip seem so much longer.
