I am a four million mile frequent flier that has been regularly using Super Shuttle in multiple cities (e.g. LAX, PHX, BWI, NYC, EWR, etc..) for more than 200 rides during the past twelve years. I regularly find the Company's service to be solid & reliable and their employees to be honest & responsible. Their rates are very fair when comparing other options for modes of transportation (e.g. taxi, limo, shuttle, car service, etc..). I encourage everyone to make an advance reservation when ever possible, as I have found that this increases the likelihood of a smooth and enjoyable experience. I had already booked before checking Yelp, which I guess worked out OK for us in the end, otherwise, I might have been too scared to use them so here is my experience. We didn't have a horrible experience at all with SuperShuttle, we booked them directly through the airport at LaGuardia. We were clueless on what else to do. Here is a quick summary: Definitely cheaper than a taxi. You can chill at the airport seating and just wait for them to call your name. They were polite and loading luggage was fast and easy. Cons: Takes quite a bit of time to arrive at your destination and don't necessarily board at the time quoted on your ticket. Not a good option if you need to be somewhere at a certain time, so we did not use this service for our return trip to the airport. But for getting to our hotel when we had no timeline? Great service from LGA to Long Island. Much cheaper than what a cab would have been. Since I had two experiences with super shuttle, I would say that my review ranked an overall 4 stars. Going to Long Island, I didn't reserve the shuttle ahead of time and had to wait for 40 minutes. It wasn't that bad of a wait, actually. I had nowhere to be. I was in the van with two other people and it had a slight stench of must but I've been in worse situations so it wasn't that bad. My biggest problem with this ride was the driver tapping away on his navigation device for most of the trip. Any time anyone is distracted from driving (and I'm in the vehicle with them especially) it makes me incredibly nervous. Please don't let me die, Mr. Shuttle Driver. But we got to my hotel in Plainview safely. A week later, I needed the shuttle again and used the 5% discount (although yelp offers 10%--I didn't know that). My shuttle arrived right on time and the driver was really awesome. Much cheaper than a cab. I can't express that enough. read more

I would like to say that I normally support Super Shuttle, and I will continue using them, but I did have a HORRIBLE experience. I was picked up in a van that smelled like an entire can of air freshener had been used. It was floral, and floral scents are a migraine trigger for me. The windows are sealed shut, so i asked to sit in the front seat with the window rolled down. I was told, "No there was a spill. The seat is wet." I wonder if that's why he emptied an entire can of air freshener in the car? Regardless I was the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off and I was TRAPPED inside the van for an hour and a half. I was nauseous and wanted to die the ENTIRE RIDE. He also didn't call people once we arrived and we waited for like 15 min outside of one person's house for them to come out. He never gave us an update or anything. It was just us sitting there wondering wtf? Next time if there's a smell, I'm getting out and paying the triple fee to take a cab. I'll never suffer like this again. I'm waiting to see if i get reimbursed for my pain and suffering, (free fare) and if not I'll seriously reconsider going with them again. My driver, Emmanuel, navigated through them aggressively, but not dangerously. We made it to LaGuardia with plenty of time to spare. And only $16! Thanks a lot! read more

Circled around to each terminal at the airport twice then on the route to dropping people off we circled around westside lower 30s to the eastside 40s back to the westside upper 30s then down to fidi an then finally at union square. If you are taking them from Newark they text you to go to the welcome sign at baggage claim which is impossible to find if you are anywhere other than baggage claim 1 - hint do not go outside the desk is inside all the way at the furthest end of baggage claim. Also don't add a tip when you charge it or your driver may never get it. You get what you pay for though - $100 cab ride into Manhattan from Newark is only $21 with Super Shuttle. read more

Super Shuttle is unconscionably terrible. My ride on the trip out was pretty lousy, running a little late and taking forever such that I really had to rush to get the plane, but tonight's has been so terrible that I've spent most of the ride doubled over laughing in the van, unable to believe that a company could mess up a van service so badly. I had scheduled them to pick me up at JFK at 6:30 for a ride to Morningside. I understand that shuttles don't run exactly on schedule and take roundabout routes to drop others off... But they left me waiting at the airport for more than an hour, telling me that each shuttle that passed wasn't mine. Finally I got on one. The driver took us on an unnecessary detour through Flushing, then drove right by where I should have been dropped off without stopping even though I pointed out where I was going. He wound up dropping people off at Central Park, in Times Square and kept heading downtown. Finally, he called back to the other remaining person on the shuttle to clarify her address, which was another ten blocks downtown. When he finally doubled back to go to my stop, he nearly missed the exit. The 6:30 shuttle didn't get in until close to 11! American Airlines got me from Central America to NYC faster than Super Shuttle could get me from JFK to 121st street. If you're prone to car sickness, then don't use Super Shuttle. We discovered this service upon arriving at Newark Airport and needed a ride to our stay in East Village in Manhattan. The 'Transportation' counter at the airport recommended that we take this service, it would be $23 for the first person, and the second person would be another $10. For $33, it was definitely cheaper than taking other transit options. We waited for about 20 minutes for our shuttle, then they filled up the shuttle with 7 other people. The driver was a bit aggressive at times, swerving and swinging at several corners. The ride was a bit rough, and it took approximately an hour to arrive at our destination. We basically took a quick tour of Manhattan, as the driver had to make multiple stops to drop everybody off. For my departure from NYC, I booked a Super Shuttle online, and prepaid. Even though my flight was at 2:30pm, the time slot that was scheduled for me was 10:00am. A bit early, but I guess it's better to be early. The shuttle arrived 15 minutes later than the scheduled time. Again, the ride was a bit crazy at times, but it was good that the driver had the AC turned on so it was relatively comfortable. I arrived at Newark within an hour. Guess this is more of a 'miss' service as it really depends which driver you get, as some can be friendlier than others. read more

Well, I didn't have nearly as bad an experience as most of you, but I didn't have the greatest experience, so it boils down to about a 3-star review. I've used them twice, once in June and once in March for transportation to and from LaGuardia (June) and Newark (March). I booked both trips online, and tipped in advance. Both times (4 rides) I never had problems with the drivers not being helpful, not lifting my luggage into the van, etc. And both times, we were picked up right on time from the hotel (as a matter of fact, they were early the last time). My biggest problem lies with the transport from the airport. It looks like their business model requires them to completely fill their vans in order to make money. Sometimes, this means waiting 45 minutes or longer while they wait for the right amount of people to fill their vans. This is the least fun thing to do when you are excited to start your vacation. In June, we arrived super early in the morning (before 9:00AM, I believe). Since they wanted to fill the van, they included passengers going to every single part of the city. We arrived at our hotel after 2 hours. I guess on the bright side, we saw parts of NYC we would have never seen otherwise. Also, the driving is a little erratic. OK, a lot erratic. But if you can get over that and luck out with your driver, it's an affordable way to get to and from Manhattan. read more

Listen, I know this wasn't supposed to be a luxury ride by any means, but you'd think Super Shuttle would know how to manage their riders by now. I booked in advance and waited 30 minutes at JFK after I announced that I had arrived. I then spent 30 minutes riding around JFK picking up other passengers. We ended up picking up more people than we had seats, resulting in a poor man having to squash up front with his garment bag. The real perplexing part occurred when we started dropping people off. We started down around 56th and the last rider was dropped off at 145th. I don't quite understand why they decided to put so many people who were going so far apart into one van. I know there were other vans at JFK - I saw them! - and I wonder if they all had similar crazy routes. Super Shuttle, if you're reading this please talk to your operations manager and try and find a better way to schedule passengers. I fully expect a shared van ride to take longer than a taxi, but it would be excellent if the long duration of the journey could be cut down. read more

Use LYFT - It's CHEAPER!!!!!! See below. I used Super Shuttle to go from LaGuardia to the Belvedere hotel in Manhattan. I booked a reservation in advance online for two people at the cost of $18.00 per person. The total came to $39.20 total. We arrived at our airport, retrieved our bags and checked in online per the emailed instructions. We waited about 20 minutes before the shuttled arrived. We made one stop on the way into the city to pick up two additional passengers before we were each dropped off one by one. Honestly, I got the feeling that the driver was a little loss but the entire ride lasted less than 45 minutes. The driver was professional and drove with care. He didn't bother to carry our bags or lift them out of the car. He also didn't open the door for us so I chose not to tip him. On the way home we ended up taking a shared ride via Lyft. That cost us $23 for two people versus the $40 Super Shuttled charged. I was a little pissed I hadn't used Lyft instead of SS during our trip in... Moral of the story, use Lyft and save $20. It took the same amount of time, offered a comparable experience AND offered a more economical fixed rate. read more

Pick up from La Guardia was 2 hrs late, ended up canceling and taking a cab. Going back it was early and tracking never activated or just didn't work. Driver had no clue where Terminal for JetBlue was at and kept trying to put me out at the wrong terminal! Made me get out to ask how to get over to the right terminal. For the price from JFK to Manhattan, was a good deal and an acceptable service. Probably not the newest vehicles and a little bit noisy, but the waiting was short and the on line reservation was very easy. Fortunately, I was the first to be picked up and the first to be delivered in the Hotel, so the timings where very reasonable. I'd give zero stars if I could. I've already filed a formal complaint. My flight landed in Newark just after midnight, and i did not arrive at home until 2:40 in the morning. My driver told us repeatedly that he was the "only" SuperShuttle driver available at that entire airport at that time, and so he had to fill his car to capacity. There were 10 of us in the vehicle, and we did not leave the airport until almost 1:30am. My phone died while I was in the shuttle, and - understandably - my husband became worried when I wasn't home by 2:15 in the morning. He called SuperShuttle to see where I was, and they connected him to the NJ dispatcher who *hung up on him.* By the time he got someone on the phone again, I'd arrived. I booked super shuttle because I thought it would be faster and safer than taking NJ Transit after midnight. I was wrong on both counts. I felt like I was being held hostage in a van for almost three hours, while the driver attempted to pack in as many people as would fit and then drove us ALL OVER THE CITY with no concern for where the people getting in the van were going. We went across the bridge to Penn Station, to the Lower East Side, to the East Village, to mid town west, to the upper east side and then to west Harlem. It was insane. I use group shares all the time and have never taken a more nonsensical route. By the time the ride was over, everyone in the car was so angry that the driver and a Russian woman were literally screaming at each other. It was a nightmare. I will never take Super Shuttle again. I'm petitioning for a refund. read more

I booked a shuttle from Manhattan to JFK using their app. The pickup time was 2:45 AM. When I got there, the doorman said the shuttle came at 2:30 AM and left 10 minutes later. I was shocked! I called their customer service line and the lady said it was my fault because they changed the pickup time and I wasn't there on time. She said they communicated this via email but I got no message from them (even if they did, was I supposed to stay awake during the entire night checking my email?). They sent another shuttle and charged me twice. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

Newark APO - stay away they made me wait almost 1.2 hours for pickup. I spoke with several employees at welcome desk, this seems to be normal and drivers confirmed angry guests are common. The dispatch this morning Jose was asked for time he just kept saying 5 minutes 5 minutes when asked for a manager he transferred me to closed admin office. when I called back Jose hung u on my causing them to speak with Randy who was helpful. Felix driver was great after dispatch lies and delays .. I would avoid them and go with another or limo or taxi its worth it. Jose laughed and yelled at me thinking he will never be called on it. First conversation said driver would be in, Second stated 5 minutes, third said driver saw me go out and in bldg, 4th conversation had me go out to lot in which they left me and then tried to refuse my reservation, had to call 800 to finally get picked up. Lesson learned: NEVER take Super Shuttle from to airport to the city. Waited an hour and a half (yes, 90 MINUTES) for a shuttle from Newark Liberty to Grand Central. Should have taken the train to Penn Station + taxi instead. Have had good experience going to the airport with Super Shuttle (riding from the city to the airport); but will rely on public transport from now on when I'm at the airport. Things are bound to get messed up at the airport because you don't really have a reservation until you check in with the ground staff (after landing), then they need to scramble to get a sufficient # of passengers for a van ride out. When my flight landed at LaGuardia, I promptly received a text from Super Shuttle welcoming me, with a link to check in, once I had retrieved my baggage. I did that, and received another notification that my driver would be assigned soon. I called from the airport phone twice: once to find out where to wait, once to check on the driver's location. After close to 90 minutes, I received another call telling me that Super Shuttle was sorry, BUT my ride was canceled and to find myself alternate transportation. By then, it was about 4:15 pm. In rush hour traffic, it took me over 2 hours more to get home, at considerable and unplanned expense, so a total of 3 1/2 hours later ( 25 miles away). This is abysmally poor service. So, I do NOT recommend Super Shuttle at all. Yes, LaGuardia is under construction, but it has been for over two years and all the other buses, shuttles, Uber, taxis, etc, are still operating, so why can't Super Shuttle? No reason. I requested a full refund of my alternate ride in writing, with receipt, because I was assured I would be reimbursed for that, if not for my inconvenience. read more

Never EVER again! I booked a trip through Expedia and opted in for the to/from transportation to Midtown. I arrived at midnight and called from the Ground Transportation phone at terminal 4 to tell Super Shuttle that I was there. They told me to wait and the driver would come inside and call my name in about 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I called again and the dispatcher told me that the driver had come in and not found me. That was simply not true. When the driver arrived at 2:00 AM and we entered the van it was almost full except for one spot. The driver literally drove around JFK for another 20 minutes to pick up his one empty seat. I will never use this service again, EVER. read more

For 21 dollars, I got door to door service from Kennedy Airport to my apt. on the upper west side. I think it's a really good deal. The driver helps you with your bags, too. Even if you drag your luggage all the way to the shuttle, and then have to flag a cab to where ever you re going to from the subway, it comes to at least 20 bucks or more. Oh my god, I would never use this service again. I've been waiting until I got reimbursed for my missed flight before I wrote this review. I read the Yelp reviews when I landed at JFK and couldn't believe how overwhelmingly bad they were. I wasn't in a hurry so caught a shuttle into Manhattan despite the reviews. While there was a tiny mix up on the way in (They told me it would be 15 minutes until my shuttle and when I inquired about 15 minutes later, they told me the driver had already come and gone and that the next one would get in me in 10 minutes. How I missed the first one when I was sitting right where they told me was beyond me but I wasn't in a big hurry and 10 minutes was no big deal). I really wondered how they could be in business if they were as bad as their reviews. Leaving Manhattan to JFK was another story. I had a 5:30pm flight and the SuperShuttle dispatch told me I needed to catch a 1:30 shuttle at my hotel. I was ready and waiting at 1pm just relaxing in the hotel lobby. At 1:45 I called and they assured me it was coming, not to worry, and they'd get me there on time. This continued until nearly 3pm and with each conversation, I'd ask them if I should just jump in a cab. "We'll get you there" was always the answer. The driver picked me and was the first one to express some concern with the timing but assured me that I'd get there. On the way he made yet more stops and it wasn't until we were finally leaving Manhattan that I realized I probably wasn't going to make it with traffic. They dropped me off at JFK at 5pm which was too late to make my plane. I had to then find a hotel and make airline changes which cost me nearly $700 out of pocket. To their credit, they did reimburse me for all my additional expenses except for food. Never mind the stress, loss of a day's work, spending the night in Queens as I had to fly out of LaGuardia at 5am. I'm self-employed and was trying to save a little money since I wasn't in a rush and my ego isn't so large that I can't ride a shuttle. However, I would never trust this company to get you to the plane on time. There are times and places to save money, taking SuperShuttle to and from JFK is not one of them. read more

The service from Laguardia to Manhattan made me want to scream - it was bad. You shouldn't have to wait over 30 minutes to be picked up especially when you make a reservation in advance. Then the driver provides zero info as to how many other people we are picking up and who he is going to drop off first. The driver drove all over the city and had no idea who to drop off first. We were crowded in the van like sardines and it was not worth the money. From the time we got off the plane until the time we arrived at our destination in the city, took approx. 4 hours!! It would normally only be the most 35 minutes!! You feel like you are riding around forever when you really could have been dropped off 10 minutes ago. For an additonal $10, i will definitely spring for a cab. Everyone else in the van agreed and we were all ready to get off and take a cab!! THe worst experience ever!!! read more

The driver has been going back and forth with the guy at the headquarters. I can't believe these people do this every day. Terrible experience with Super Shuttle from Newark EWR airport! Even if you have a reservation made days in advance, the wait time for a shuttle can take a long time (in my case, one hour!). Super Shuttle does not make this explicitly clear when you book. There are also no Super Shuttle ground personnel at EWR -- instead you talk to the general EWR ground transport staff. The driver was rude and quite indifferent. He made four women cram in the last row like sardines, made me cram next to an elderly couple (who then had to hold carry-on bags on their laps for 2 hours) and kept the front passenger seat empty the whole time. He was also quite sarcastic when we told him our destinations -- tourists don't know NYC maps like the back of their hands, that's the whole point of taking a shuttle. This kind of rudeness makes for a poor introduction to NYC tourism. I am a long time customer of Super Shuttle and will likely never use it again in any city. There are far better alternatives via Yelp. It's also no wonder why transportation network companies like Uber are probably going to take over with their far better customer experience. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I made a reservation with them for a pickup to JFK. They didn't show up, plain and simple. When the driver was a no-show, I tried calling them, but was repeatedly put on hold and then disconnected. When I finally got through to a person and didn't get cut off, they claimed that the driver was on his way. When the shuttle didn't show up after that, I tried calling again, and they claimed that the driver had already been through the area and hadn't seen me. Which was impossible, because I was at the designated pickup location well before before the scheduled time and 30 minutes afterward. There was no way the driver could have missed me, and I certainly didn't see the shuttle pass by (it's hard to miss a big blue van, right?). Either the driver screwed up the pickup address or just didn't come. Either way, I ended up calling a car service and spending $75 to get to JFK so I wouldn't miss my flight. Don't use this service. I waited for 1 and a half hour at newark airport, then 20 more minutes at the van because the driver "forgot" someone and before it they supposed to show up in the next 5 to 10 minutes every call i made... In the end, i landed at 7pm, had a pick up scheduled for 7:30 they showed up at 9 pm and got home at 10 pm. Definitely not worth it... There are buses at EWR Newark Airport for 15 dollars every 15 minutes that actually has a better schedulle.. Next time i will try those big buses... read more

The van picked me up over an hour after I checked in with my phone. Then, the van drove around other terminals to pick up other people. Total duration from checking in online until getting out of LaGuardia airport is over 2.5 hours. I know it is a shared van but it is ridiculous. What even worse is my friend who checked in the same time with me did not even receive a van number. She called customer service and they said they had system issue and just said sorry to her. NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. They won't even let my friend get on the same van with me. I will never use this service again! read more

Price: Not terrible $50 round trip from Manhattan to JFK. Outbound: The driver was 45 minutes LATE! On the positive side, the customer service line was very friendly and understand at 4:30am when I was calling to find out what happened to my shuttle. Return: I was under the impression when I booked at 4:15 shuttle that it would be ready when I arrived but I had to get a ticket and wait 30 mins for them to call my name for the next available shuttle. (First come, first serve) Then the driver drove around JFK for 1.5 HOURS picking up more passengers!! The whole process took so much longer than it should have. I was picked up promptly and had only one other passenger pick up. We scheduled for a 3:45 pick up in New York City. This company was more than one hour late, so we canceled our pick up. Trying to get a refund for service is very difficult at best. Do not blame the driver totally, as he's sent the people his way to drive them, but he thinks he's a know-it-all and got lost more than once dropping people around, which prolongs your agony while trying to arrive to your destination.
