Paid $17 for the shuttle from my sister's apt which is located close to Herald Square to LGA, I was scheduled to be picked up between 3.05-3.20 am for 6pm flight. The driver picked me up at 3.15am. Good sign, I thought and the driver is also efficient and friendly. There was already 2 passengers when I got into the car. The shuttle picked up 5 more passengers at 3 different locations nearby and we reached LGA Airport at 4.10am. Pretty good but too early and the Southwest counter won't be open till 4.30am and so I waited. I will give 4 stars. However, I have a different experience with supershuttle from SF Airport to my apt which costs $17.On both occasion, I made an online booking. Upon arrival in SFO, I waited like 7 minutes for the driver and I got on the car with 1 other passenger at 12.40pm. Then we go to another terminal to pick up 1 more people. This time the driver was an old Russian guy who was taking his time, chatting like 5 minutes with another super shuttle guy outside then got into the car and write something on his paperwork while mumbling to himself and then waited,Then we picked up another person because the driver was assigned by the system to do so. So total 4 people in the car. We all live closeby and SF is a small city. I was dropped at 1.25pm at my apt. I will give 2 stars for his service. So different state and different driver do make a difference on how you will like super shuttle or not. read more

I've had an okay experience with SuperShuttle in other cities, but my NYC experience was pretty bad. First off, the driver drove like a maniac. I know this is NYC, but really I'd like to make it to the airport in one piece. Secondly, once we were at the airport he asked us if we were domestic or international and which airline. Apparently he completely tuned me out or didn't care, so he drove right by my terminal. When I realized and said something, he was completely rude and pissed off like I had done something wrong! He pretty much refused to go back around at this point, so I had to get out in the narrow passageway and walk all the way back up to the terminal. Terrible experience! For my departure they canceled on me an hour before they were supposed to pick me up even though I booked weeks in advance. Then on my return flight - I arrived at JFK at 6:07am. I checked in for my SuperShuttle at 6:45 and didn't get dropped off at my place until 9:32!!! If I had known I would have paid for Uber/lyft - they weren't that much more expensive. My driver was extremely rude too. When I asked why we were dropping people off out of order (the app gives a drop off order) he told me the app doesn't matter he chooses the stops and I should get out of the car if I like (no where near my apartment bc he had driven clear across town out of order) - just for asking! I have one more trip already booked with SuperShuttle, but after that I WILL NEVER use this service again - and honestly you shouldn't either. Especially not until they have better software to organize their ride share. read more

Here's the deal...This is an inexpensive way to get to and from your hotel & airport if you're in a pinch or want to save some money. You get what you pay for. My experience: I flew into JFK and needed to get to my hotel in Times Square. They make it relatively easy by having an app and allowing you to pay through that, setting your reservation time, pickup and destination, etc. Went through the app to make a reservation and after i receive my confirmation email, the destination is completely incorrect and set it to a hotel relatively near my real destination, but in NYC terms, not close at all. I called and told the dispatcher about the app miscue and she said "Talk to your driver and let him know, I'm sure he won't mind." Fair enough, I waited a little under an hour for them to arrive all the while looking at the tracker on the app (not accurate) for him to arrive. He shows up, I get in the shuttle and let him know about my real destination. Times Square Sheraton Hotel. He looked at me like I had 10 heads and said "uhhh, whatever, sure." with the worst possible attitude. Not my fault the app was incorrect. We get to the ride and as expected with any public transportation service in Manhattan, it's an absolute nightmare, traffic out the ying yang, weaving in and out of cars, taking exits and on ramps to get in and out of traffic on the beltway (which was actually quite genius.) About 2 hours later I arrive at my destination. Not a big deal, I wasn't in any rush. This is not your own personal chauffeur. It's not a cab, it's a ride share that gets you from point A to point B. If you're in a time crunch, don't use this service. If you have nowhere to be in any particular time and don't want to break the bank, use this service. I will not rely on Super Shuttle to go back to the airport from my hotel with a huge fear of missing my flight even with giving myself a reasonable amount of time to arrive at JFK. read more

This is the first time this happened to me with Super Shuttle, so this review is based on one experience. I will never use Super Shuttle again, because I MISSED MY FLIGHT!!! I missed my flight due to a driver who was hopelessly lost and couldn't find me. I prepaid, online, clearly put the address in the reservation, it's a senior residence, they gave me the time of pickup between 4:40 AM and 4:50 AM. I watched on the app as the icon drove right by. Finally at 5:01, I got a call, asking where I was located, and I basically spent the next 45 minutes (on and off) giving HIM directions (why was there no GPS in the van?), and finally I yelled that I was going to miss my flight and I was going to call Uber, I ended up missing my flight, and was still charged by Super Shuttle. I have a complaint pending, but I see that charge on my debit card and am still fuming (this happened 2 days ago), hence this heated review. Again, I MISSED MY FLIGHT! (And ended up paying $40 for a cab.....while Super Shuttle still charged me $31.86.) Very angry. This is unacceptable. read more

There were 6 adults in my group, traveling to JFK at 4:45am on Aug. 10th. I didn't want to ask any family members to drive us at that unGodly hour, so I began to price around. Because we all had at least 1 piece of large luggage, we couldn't just call a cab, it had to be a van, which as it turns out is pretty pricey. I called Super Shuttle as a last resort and am SO glad i did!! They were much less expensive. They were prompt, the vehicle was clean and new, the driver couldn't have been nicer. This is the first time I used their service and it was relatively good. The client support on the phone was good, the driver came on time, however he didn't follow my simple instructions for pickup (being on the crossing street and not on the main avenue), even though they did appear on the reservation. His answer to me was that he doesn't read the comments - so I ask myself why did they even bother to ask me for special instructions on the phone? read more

They made me wait an hour at midnight for a ride I had reserved in advance. Not the first issue I've had with them. Last time I used them and had a problem (needed to use alternate transportation to make my flight since they were very late) I spent weeks and weeks trying to track down customer service to resolve the issue. Do not use Super Shuttle! We scheduled an executive car to take us from JFK to our hotel near time square and it took almost an hour for them to show up. A few days later we scheduled an executive car for a 12:01PM pick up from our hotel to take us to the Brooklyn pier 12 and after waiting outside our hotel for over an hour they finally showed up. I am furious with this company. I booked a shared ride to be picked up at JFK airport. I received confirmation from Super Shuttle for my ride. My flight landed, and I retrieved my luggage then checked in for my ride. I received a call at 12:11am from someone from Super Shuttle stating "we cannot pick you up to take you to your destination because there are no drivers available because of the weather." There was absolutely no rain, sleet, snow, fog, or any other unsafe weather happening at the airport or near my final destination. I was STRANDED at JFK airport for hours since I RELIED on your services to take me home from my flight. It was the middle of the night, I was alone, and had no other way of getting home. If your company's drivers KNEW there was "bad weather" in NY, why wasn't my ride cancelled sooner? I did not know I would be stranded at the airport until AFTER my flight landed. We booked a shuttle for my minor daughter travelling alone from JFK to Manhattan. Her reservation was confirmed for a pickup for her flight arriving at 5:15am. Her flight was on-time and she did not check any luggage so she checked in via the app AND checked in with a Supershuttle agent at the airport by 5:45am. The agent said she was all set. On the app, we could see that the van was at the airport. But for some reason, the van never moved and she waited for OVER AN HOUR before getting picked up! That's ridiculous for a pick up at a major airport like JFK. Unfortunately I was on the west coast and it was after 3am, so I went to sleep assuming that the shuttle would pick her up soon since the van was very close according to the app. Yes, my daughter should have called or spoken to the agent or contacted the driver via the app, but it was her first time using Supershuttle and she is a minor and didn't know to do that. This morning, I then tried to talk call customer service to find out what happened and the CSR told me there's nothing they can do and I have to submit a complaint on their website and someone will respond within 5 business days. I cannot talk to anyone on the phone about it. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and the CSR hung up on me instead! I guess that's how they handle any issues hanging up on you. read more

It was an extremely poor experience. The process is unclear and there are absolutely no signs to direct you towards the super shuttle (or in this case welcome center) upon our arrival. We asked several employees of the airport and only 2 had vague descriptions of where it might be. Customer service was unclear and had to call several supervisors for clarification. Super shuttles at Laguardia will not be seeing my service anytime soon. The website also neglected to mention that you do not need to check in for pick up from your home but you do need to check in for pick up from your airport. read more

This was a terrible experience, After I got picked up at 4:30 am we made another stop, I waited 30 minutes in a cold van (no heat) for the couple to come down and get into the van. What happened to the 15 minute gap? Then on my way home I again booked on line in advance. After getting my luggage I proceeded to the desk at 6:30 pm and they called to "confirm" my reservation. I thought that was the whole point of booking on line in Advance? They said I had to wait an HOUR for my shuttle to come. When the van finally arrived, I took the last available seat. When we got to the city we made several stops, east side, times square, ground zero and then finally my stop- the upper west side. i was the last one to get dropped off. I didn't get home until 9:00 pm from a flight that landed at 6:00 pm. I called customer service to complain, they offered me a free voucher, WHY would I want to go through them again? read more

Worst trip ever from JFK to Manhattan. I will never use this company again. Here's why: - they give a 25 minute window for pick up. My wife and I booked Super Shuttle from JFK to Manhattan and back. After making the reservations through an online package deal, we became so concerned about the negative reviews that we were tempted to give up our non-refundable payment and use another mode of transportation. For us, though, we could not have asked for better service. Our drivers were courteous and professional. Our arrival van arrived within 20-30 minutes of our request for pickup at JFK, and our return van picked us up well within the time we requested. I received a text letting me know the location of the van as it came near the hotel. On the way to JFK, our driver had to make a few stops to pick up people. All but one were waiting for him outside their hotels. The one, however, caused the driver to wait a few extra minutes, but we still made it to the airport right at the agreed-upon time. So, to be fair to Super Shuttle and your fellow passengers, be ready to board when they show up. read more

Its my second to use supershuttle. the price is pretty reasonable and the driver was helpful. (compare with taxi driver.) My first time was taking super shuttle from JFK to downtown. That time was a little bad because the van was broken on the way to downtown. All the passengers had to walk back to hotel. Luckily, my hotel was only 2 blocks away from the drop-off point. Well, at least the driver return us some money so that I feel not too bad service. This time the driver was a little late, but he has called to inform us earlier. Overall, the service was good. We ordered the shuttle way ahead of time and we had to wait for over an HOUR after our flight arrived for the van. The driver was great, he weaved in and out of traffic to try to get us to our destination quickly. We left Newark at 5:30, so naturally we hit rush hour traffic. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! My flight was delayed and came in at 1am to Newark and I had arranged weeks ago for supershuttle to Manhattan. They called me as my plane landed and stated they had no shuttles and I would need to wait TILL 3AM alone at the airport. I took a cab $95 later not happy. An hour before the pick up on the way from Manhattan to Newark at 2pm, they called and said they had no drivers, no shuttles. I had another cab take me to Newark for another $95. HOW DO THEY OPERATE A MAJOR HUB LIKE NEW YORK AND NEWARK LIKE THIS??? I did contact them minion on the phone would do nothing. I wrote a letter to complain..NOTHING. At LaGuardia - Would not recommend. I prebooked my transportation for a conference - big mistake. On arrival, I waited for 90 minutes at the airport before giving up. I contacted them twice to request a refund, both times I received an email response that "they would get back to me" - it never happened. For departure, I was picked up on time but then the driver circled and picked up other riders for 90 minutes prior to leaving NY for the airport. Never again. read more

Was nervous about getting to LaGuardia for my 7:45 am flight but our driver was earlier than expected (SS texted when he arrived) and we were early to the airport. Drivers were courteous and helpful. Have been calling customer service for 40 minutes straight only to get "wait a moment, we are transferring lines". Because Airporter went out of business, I booked Super Shuttle 3X (all well in advance) for trips to and from the airports/Grand Central Terminal. The three trips back from the airport all went fine. Here's what happened on the three trips FROM Grand Central TO the airports. Trip #1. Driver never shows up. Text received, telling me the time of pickup at Grand Central, but NOT THE LOCATION. No way to ascertain this information, and calling them does not produce the result. Ended up taking the bus for additional money. Complained at airport, and received a refund for the bus, but not for the (more expensive) shuttle... Trip #2 Driver 1/2 hour late. Is angry with his dispatcher (I do understand this). He takes out his anger on me, screams at me for 10-15 minutes in front of other passengers, tells me I can get out of his van at any time, and that I am "lucky" he picked me up. I was the last one dropped off at my terminal, at which point he advised me not to be angry with drivers, because "that's how people get killed".. Not sure if he was trying to help me, or intimidate me. Trip #3 See trip #1. Driver never shows up. I am in the rain for 45 minutes wandering from location to location along Lexington Ave, no idea where he is. As before, zero phone calls to me to confirm, and no way to phone him. Ended up taking the bus once again (for additional money). Driver was friendly, but he was on his phone the ENTIRE journey back to Grand Central. Honked at slower drivers in front of him at least 20 times. Weaved in and out of lanes. (was skilled at, to be fair) So a word to the wise. Do not ever pre-book. And do not use this service. Advice to Super Shuttle: when you send the confirmation text that the driver will be arriving at Grand Central Terminal, also include the EXACT location where the pickup will occur. read more

Several years ago, I decided for the first time to use this service and after waiting 10-15 minutes beyond my pick up time, was told that my "van" wasn't coming. They couldn't tell me if it was late or if my reservation was messed up or not. I had to grab a cab.I vowed never to book them again and.... FAST FORWARD TO TODAY. I had warned my mother NOT to use this service but...here we are. Kissed my parents and aunt good-bye and went back to sleep to snooze only to have my elderly mother pounding on my door. The shuttle showed up on time and told them "We don't have room for 3 people, only 1." Um, excuse me but really? I calmed her down, took the reservation number (to file a complaint and get her $ refunded) and ordered the $150 Uber to JFK. Uber showed up in a few. Calling the Customer Service line, "Sarah", the rep was pleasant until I nicely asked her to connect me to complaints/refunds, then there was a complete 180 on her attitude and demeanor. She told me I'd have to "fill out a form". Having worked in a customer service role, I am aware that there is always an escalation path so I repeated my request to be connected to a person and she responded with "We don't talk to people about complaints, there's no one for you to talk to." I replied that while I did not fault her, I was upset and disappointed and cited this VERY reason as why I did NOT use their service and actively told people to NOT use their service. She was neither sympathetic nor offered any other solutions other than citing "company policy" There are too many better options in NYC. For your own sanity and peace of mind, PLEASE DO NOT USE this SERVICE. If you must save $ but don't want to use the subway, UberPool OR use the Airporter Shuttle that leaves from Grand Central and Penn Station. SUPER SHUTTLE. FAIL. Until this last time, I made my reservation at LGA upon receiving my luggage and was told 25-30 minutes. 35 minutes passed and I inquired, and was told that for some reason Super Shuttle did not receive my reservation until 15 minutes prior to my inquiry. Frustrating, ok.. so then I am told they will be there in about 20 minutes. 25 minutes pass, and still no Super Shuttle. I ask because now I've been waiting an hour and sleep deprived when I really could have just taken a cab and be taking a nap already. I ask again and they say they will call to find out. Forget it. I walked to where the cabs are lined up and finally got to where I was going. SUPER SHUTTLE YOU SUCK NOW. TERRIBLE BUSINESS. Don't bother, take Via, or a cab. read more

Please save yourself the time and energy and DO NOT book with Super Shuttle. I ordered a shuttle to arrive at 4:20 to pick me up from work and bring me to JFK. My driver arrived at 3:30, and called me to see if I was ready, to which I told him I was not and needed to wait until my scheduled pickup time to leave work. He said he would wait for me until then. I did not receive a follow up call before my scheduled pick-up window, and arrived to my pick-up location at 4:23 and could not find the shuttle. After searching around for a few minutes, I called my driver and he did not answer. I followed up a few minutes later, and he answered and let me know that he left because I was "not at my pick-up location". I told him that I was indeed downstairs, and would have appreciated a follow-up call from him during this pick-up time before he abandoned me at the location. He said I could either come to Midtown to meet him, or call the corporate office. After calling corporate, I was told that there was nothing they could do - as my ride had been canceled because I was a "no-show". After explaining that my ride was wrongfully canceled, and that the driver left 3 minutes into my pickup window without letting me know he had arrived, they claimed I must be lying about the time I arrived. They said there was nothing they could do for me, except state my claim on the online form. They said they were unable to dispatch another shuttle -- something I later found out from customer service was not following procedure. I brought this issue to customer service, and presented them with evidence that the driver did not call me to let me know he was leaving, and expressed my concern with how I was treated by both the driver and the initial customer service representatives. It was not until I demanded a phone conversation with customer service after going back and forth for two weeks that I received a partial refund. read more

This service is extremely disorganized and nonsensical. Despite making reservations I've had to wait over an hour for a shuttle. Their app doesn't seem to do anything productive other than take make a reservation and so updating it in the case of a flight delay makes no difference and they are not prepared for your arrival. I've seen two shuttles take individual people with similar locations while I have to wait for one that will take me in the opposite direction. It's just extremely apparent how disorganized their system is and I'm honestly not sure how they are able to make money with it. read more

I had prebooked a shuttle and got a text showing that it was close by so I left my friends apartment and went to go meet him. 20 minutes after he was scheduled to arrive I got a call that my shuttle was cancelled no offer of alternative service nothing. I have a broken shoulder and had to walk two blocks with 3 pieces of luggage to catch a cab. And this is not the first time they were no shows. If you need reliable transportation to the airport I ABSOLUTELY would not use them. UPDATE: contacted supershuttle via email comment below. Still unable to reach a resolution.
