Because Airporter went out of business, I booked Super Shuttle 3X (all well in advance) for trips to and from the airports/Grand Central Terminal. The three trips back from the airport all went fine. Here's what happened on the three trips FROM Grand Central TO the airports. Trip #1. Driver never shows up. Text received, telling me the time of pickup at Grand Central, but NOT THE LOCATION. No way to ascertain this information, and calling them does not produce the result. Ended up taking the bus for additional money. Complained at airport, and received a refund for the bus, but not for the (more expensive) shuttle... Trip #2 Driver 1/2 hour late. Is angry with his dispatcher (I do understand this). He takes out his anger on me, screams at me for 10-15 minutes in front of other passengers, tells me I can get out of his van at any time, and that I am "lucky" he picked me up. I was the last one dropped off at my terminal, at which point he advised me not to be angry with drivers, because "that's how people get killed".. Not sure if he was trying to help me, or intimidate me. Trip #3 See trip #1. Driver never shows up. I am in the rain for 45 minutes wandering from location to location along Lexington Ave, no idea where he is. As before, zero phone calls to me to confirm, and no way to phone him. Ended up taking the bus once again (for additional money). Driver was friendly, but he was on his phone the ENTIRE journey back to Grand Central. Honked at slower drivers in front of him at least 20 times. Weaved in and out of lanes. (was skilled at, to be fair) So a word to the wise. Do not ever pre-book. And do not use this service. Advice to Super Shuttle: when you send the confirmation text that the driver will be arriving at Grand Central Terminal, also include the EXACT location where the pickup will occur. read more

Update: 9:53 AM - Total cost - $62.63 for the original booking and $169 for the Uber to JFK. We'll see how the refund and credit goes. Original: SPOILERS AHEAD - NEW YORKERS DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! If a half star or zero stars were possible, I would choose that rating, but clearly not. Several years ago, I decided for the first time to use this service and after waiting 10-15 minutes beyond my pick up time, was told that my "van" wasn't coming. They couldn't tell me if it was late or if my reservation was messed up or not. I had to grab a cab.I vowed never to book them again and.... FAST FORWARD TO TODAY. I had warned my mother NOT to use this service but...here we are. Kissed my parents and aunt good-bye and went back to sleep to snooze only to have my elderly mother pounding on my door. The shuttle showed up on time and told them "We don't have room for 3 people, only 1." Um, excuse me but really? I calmed her down, took the reservation number (to file a complaint and get her $ refunded) and ordered the $150 Uber to JFK. Uber showed up in a few. Calling the Customer Service line, "Sarah", the rep was pleasant until I nicely asked her to connect me to complaints/refunds, then there was a complete 180 on her attitude and demeanor. She told me I'd have to "fill out a form". Having worked in a customer service role, I am aware that there is always an escalation path so I repeated my request to be connected to a person and she responded with "We don't talk to people about complaints, there's no one for you to talk to." I replied that while I did not fault her, I was upset and disappointed and cited this VERY reason as why I did NOT use their service and actively told people to NOT use their service. She was neither sympathetic nor offered any other solutions other than citing "company policy" There are too many better options in NYC. For your own sanity and peace of mind, PLEASE DO NOT USE this SERVICE. If you must save $ but don't want to use the subway, UberPool OR use the Airporter Shuttle that leaves from Grand Central and Penn Station. SUPER SHUTTLE. FAIL. Used SuperShuttle with previous visits to NYC. Very, very satisfied. Love the new message system (inc. confirmations) to my cell phone. Finding "loading" location upon arrival at LGA was a bit of problem. One note: be sure you schedule DIRECTLY with SuperShuttle and not a third party like one of the travel sites. Until this last time, I made my reservation at LGA upon receiving my luggage and was told 25-30 minutes. 35 minutes passed and I inquired, and was told that for some reason Super Shuttle did not receive my reservation until 15 minutes prior to my inquiry. Frustrating, ok.. so then I am told they will be there in about 20 minutes. 25 minutes pass, and still no Super Shuttle. I ask because now I've been waiting an hour and sleep deprived when I really could have just taken a cab and be taking a nap already. I ask again and they say they will call to find out. Forget it. For what this was and what we expected was what you get. You pay for a native to drive you. We did Newark to Manhattan in a shared van. There. It was great. Rough and car sick? Yes but it was like riding in a church van as a kid. BUT shocking and sharp turns. On the way back. Different story. I literally thought we might die and I'm not being dramatic. The van flipping was on everyone's mind. The driver was such an aggressive driver to the point I felt in danger and was worrying about pedestrians that he would zoom by. He cut off over 12 people and by cut off I couldn't see the front of the car out the back window. We cut from the far left all the way to the exit of the road on the far right. Everyone was wobbling from the car sickness. If you have a little extra money. Do a taxi or some other option. If you are on a budget and don't care. This is your best bet. read more

Please save yourself the time and energy and DO NOT book with Super Shuttle. I ordered a shuttle to arrive at 4:20 to pick me up from work and bring me to JFK. My driver arrived at 3:30, and called me to see if I was ready, to which I told him I was not and needed to wait until my scheduled pickup time to leave work. He said he would wait for me until then. I did not receive a follow up call before my scheduled pick-up window, and arrived to my pick-up location at 4:23 and could not find the shuttle. After searching around for a few minutes, I called my driver and he did not answer. I followed up a few minutes later, and he answered and let me know that he left because I was "not at my pick-up location". I told him that I was indeed downstairs, and would have appreciated a follow-up call from him during this pick-up time before he abandoned me at the location. He said I could either come to Midtown to meet him, or call the corporate office. After calling corporate, I was told that there was nothing they could do - as my ride had been canceled because I was a "no-show". After explaining that my ride was wrongfully canceled, and that the driver left 3 minutes into my pickup window without letting me know he had arrived, they claimed I must be lying about the time I arrived. They said there was nothing they could do for me, except state my claim on the online form. They said they were unable to dispatch another shuttle -- something I later found out from customer service was not following procedure. I brought this issue to customer service, and presented them with evidence that the driver did not call me to let me know he was leaving, and expressed my concern with how I was treated by both the driver and the initial customer service representatives. It was not until I demanded a phone conversation with customer service after going back and forth for two weeks that I received a partial refund. read more

Considering a super shuttle you have to take into account that it's a van shuttle system where there are multiple pick up and drop off locations so it will take TIME, and especially in a busy city near NYC, it will definitely take awhile from pick up and drop off. I've used super shuttle in another city and I find the app is very easy and convenient to use, so I booked a shuttle pick the same day as my pick up, and I didn't have any problem. I booked on the app before I departed the airport in Houston at 8 AM and I had my pick up at LGA at 1:30 PM. Once you arrive in the baggage claim look for the Welcome Center and that's where you can wait for the attendants to call your name and then you get on the shuttle. I was the 5th passenger to get on, and then we circled the airport one more time to pick up the last set of passengers before heading to Manhattan. It was a packed van, but that's normal. I think I was the only one booked my reservation on the app because the others signed up through their hotel or at the airport, which looks like it's a bit of a longer hassle kind of a process. Not sure what I did right, but I was the first stop from the airport and it was a breeze! This is an affordable alternative to taking a cab or even Uber IF you're open to carpooling and have some time to spare. But I do find the drivers are bit wreck less in their driving, not worried about the bumps and dips on the streets. read more

This service is extremely disorganized and nonsensical. Despite making reservations I've had to wait over an hour for a shuttle. Their app doesn't seem to do anything productive other than take make a reservation and so updating it in the case of a flight delay makes no difference and they are not prepared for your arrival. I've seen two shuttles take individual people with similar locations while I have to wait for one that will take me in the opposite direction. It's just extremely apparent how disorganized their system is and I'm honestly not sure how they are able to make money with it. read more

If I could I would give a rating of 0 out of 5 stars. I'm currently still in route to get to Hell's Kitchen because the driver insisted on taking the 59th street bridge, worked his way up to 101st, touched the Bronx to make it to w 138th, and is currently circling back to make it downtown. I'm extremely pissed that a simple journey is taking me more than 2 hours to get from JFK to w 47th street. Super Shuttles NEEDS to do BETTER! Never again will I waste my money on poor service. If passenger aren't grouped based on their final destination - your drivers should be trained to make executives decisions that will get all passengers to their destinations within a reasonable timeframe. In addition, please make sure your driver is knowledgeable of NYC traffic - this way s/he isn't taking the most congested routes when dropping off passengers. read more

I never leave reviews but I feel like I have to for this company. I had prebooked a shuttle and got a text showing that it was close by so I left my friends apartment and went to go meet him. 20 minutes after he was scheduled to arrive I got a call that my shuttle was cancelled no offer of alternative service nothing. I have a broken shoulder and had to walk two blocks with 3 pieces of luggage to catch a cab. And this is not the first time they were no shows. If you need reliable transportation to the airport I ABSOLUTELY would not use them. UPDATE: contacted supershuttle via email comment below. Still unable to reach a resolution. It's disgraceful and unacceptable for a business to act in this manner. If I could I would change my one star to a zero. read more

this is the 4th time I've used Super Shuttle from Suffolk to JFK and I couldn't be more pleased with the price and the service. The app is very easy to use and the drivers are always on time and courteous. The price for 8 people was 50% less than other companies I called. We booked a round trip with super shuttle while they were a little late picking us up, I didn't complain much considering there was traffic, which was horrible, and they did have other trips before our stop . the driver was nice and we made it to our destination with time to explore the night . Returning to the airport was no issue they actually picked us up at 11:30 though our scheduled time was 12:05 ...we made it to the airport with 2 hours to spare . If you're in no rush after landing I would recommend the service however if you're in a rush I would recommend a personal driver instead of a shared shuttle read more

That was easily the worst shuttle service I've ever used. Just spend the extra money and take a cab! When we arrived at JFK, we ended up waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF before our shuttle finally arrived! And the women working at the "customer care" kiosks clearly couldn't care less that we were still sitting there after all that time. Twice I went up to ask where the damn shuttle was, and both times I was told "less than ten minutes". Ha! Not to mention that I was clearly interrupting their cell phone time with my question. But the waiting didn't end once the shuttle arrived! Once we finally loaded into an almost full shuttle (2 seats left), the guy just waited there, chatting with another driver! We started talking with the other passengers, and found out that a family of four from Australia had been stuck in that shuttle for over an hour, driving from terminal to terminal, trying to fill the van up... And they'd been traveling for over 30 hours!! Finally the guy started driving, and had to go pick up more people before he could finally take us into the city. When the dad of the Aussie family complained, the driver blamed the dispatchers: "They are all Spanish, so they only give fares to Spanish drivers!" So clearly he is the victim in all this. We eventually got to our hotel, well over two hours after we landed. We'll be canceling our return ride, because we really have no idea if we will make our flight!! Just jump in a cab instead, they have a flat rate, and the extra money will be worth it rather than dealing with this ridiculous operation. read more

Avoid at all costs!!!!!! Last evening I arrived at JFK around 12:45AM. I had booked my flight months ago and made a reservation with Super Shuttle at that time. While waiting for my luggage I called Super Shuttle from my cell phone and waited on hold for 25 minutes. I collected my luggage and walked over to the ground transportation phone. While still on hold I dialed 29 for Super Shuttle. Someone immediately answered. I told them I had a reservation and would like to know where the Shuttle would be picking me up. The rude lady informed me they did not have a driver and that it would be at least 90 minutes. It was now after 1 AM and I was supposed to wait until at least 2:30!?!?! Now I now why we always called it STUPID SHUTTLE! We had pre-paid a r/t to and from the Swan/Dolphin Resort in Disney. Getting from the airport to the resort, no problem. Getting back to the airport from the resort was the issue! The pickup window was 1:30-1:45. We were getting our luggage from bell services and we were out curbside by 1:40pm, apparently they LEFT WITHOUT US, the app said trip complete. UM NO, if the driver is supposed to be there for a 15 minute window the driver should not leave before end of said window. So now we are out money, and had to pay for a cab 78.00 and a tip later to get us to the airport on time. We will never use this service again. We will also be disputing the charges with our credit card company for services not received and sending a scathing email to corporate office. Use Mears or Uber in Orlando if you must! read more

Do yourself a favor, and never ever ever use this Super Shuttle. Take public transportation, a taxi- really just about anything else if your time is worth something to you, because it certainly isn't worth anything to them. I made an appointment online to have a Super Shuttle get me from LGA at 1:30am, my flight from Chicago had been delayed, so this was the estimate. In making the appointment they asked for my flight information, so I assumed they would see if any further delays ensued... We arrived at 1:45am, I immediately called the service, looking for my ride, they give me an estimate of 45 minutes! This was already ridiculous, but I really didn't want to pay for a cab, so I decided to stick it out. 3am rolls around, I give them 10 more minutes, and call again. This time they give me 20-30 mintues! At this point I'm pretty furious and explain to them that over an hour ago someone told me it would be 45-minutes, which was already ridiculous, what the hell!? They basically have no answer. As it's now 3am, and the airport is essentially empty, I grumble back into my seat and figure fine, what's another 20 minutes? As 4am creeps closer and closer, I'm counting down the minutes until I literally flip out and tell them to forget it. At this point I might as well just wait for it to get light out and take the bus. Scarcely moments before I placed the call to unleash my fury and cancel, the driver walks in. I was the only passenger. To his credit, the driver was nice enough. But by this point I was really in no mood for nice. I explained to him what had happened, and he asked why I hadn't taken a cab. Seriously?? I told him I absolutely would have, had I not been lead to believe I would be waiting for considerably less than over 2hrs. Then he stopped to gas up his van.... Then, he tells me I'm lucky, because he was supposed to get someone else before me to go to JFK, but she wasn't ready yet, so he had then come to get me. I was lucky!? I checked in an hour and a half ago, am exhausted from a full day of traveling, and I am still waiting. I was told yet another 15-20 minutes, meaning from the time I checked in to the time I finally leave the airport is going to be 2 hours. I am very disappointed with the service. While it is one of the cheaper options to get to your destination (to the airport or from the airport), the wait time is wildly inconsistent. I was supposed to be picked up at 1:15 pm but I didn't get picked up until 2:15 pm. Plus, you are sharing the van with other people, so you'll most likely reach your destination much later than expected. This service is NOT worth saving extra 20 - 30 dollars. DISCRIMINATION PRACTICES not only condoned but completely ignored by Company headquarters and dispatching management. I had a 1400 reservation for trip from EWR to Manhattan hotel. I checked in online when I landed, and followed the email directions to the curb area. There was no SS pick up at the door the directions indicated. Went back into terminal to the SS area and was told "We CAN NOT help you once you have checked in online." They wouldn't even give me directions to the right curb pick up location. No kidding !!! So i just waited and followed the girl out on the next group of people she walked to the shuttle. Meantime - I get phone text with driver # and van #. Wait 50 mins. Driver finally comes by, slows up and doesn't stop --- but we make eye contact, so I know he sees me. He never fully stops but pulls to area where I can't walk. Within one min he pulls away and I got another text with new driver #(2) and van #(2). About 30 mins later, repeat. New text with driver # (3) and van #(3). Now I am two hrs past my reservation, freezing my butt off outside, no help from counter and drivers that are deliberating NOT picking me up. Another driver shows up, not my number --- and I explain what I was experiencing. He asks to see the address where I m going --- then without batting an eye. Your address -- they'll skip it. Too long, not enough money in tip. I called SS and asked for manager. When I got the manager, I asked for his manager and the most senior level of management on duty. Got the run around - but eventually i spoke to someone and explained the events, that I had all the texts, emails and even photos of vans 2 and 3 - hanging out in the non-ped area. Evidence seemed to freak them out. Now the driver who was not my driver, all of sudden gets call and says he will be assigned to my trip. He puts his hands up -- but is nice to me. But then tells me there are 4 other customers that land in 30-50 mins so we'll have to wait for them first. (I am at 3 h :10 mins by this time) Luckily it is only 30 mins before all 5 of us are packed up and ready to go. I called back to SS and asked why i had to wait another (potential) hour -- and they said everytime the drivers wouldn't pick me up -- my "clock" for pick up was basically RESET. So in their logs I was only waiting 20 or so mins vice the 2+ hrs. After arriving at my hotel 5 hrs later..... before I was dropped off (last one) all 4 other customers were dropped off and 3 more were picked up !!!!!!!! YGTBFSM. I did some homework. A taxicab driver is required to drive a passenger to any destination in the five boroughs. You can make a refusal complaint by calling 3-1-1. Update: SS refunded me one way fare for the RT reservation. But I took all the emails, screen captures of text with driver name, number and van number (with full times --- records easy to check) and voice recordings of phone conversations with "manager" and burned to disc... and sent off the both the DOT and NYC transportation departments. Good luck renewing your license to operate at EWR Super Shuttle !!!! And I hope all 3 drivers lose their license, get fined --- or better yet, both. read more

Am I going to get my butt kicked for having a great experience? We had the concierge call the day before from the hotel. It took about 10 minutes and we pre paid with her. Tip included was $82 bucks. The limo was in front of the hotel on time, the driver was now where to be found. Having a smoke on the side of the building. The town car was new and very accommodating. Heated back seats, radio and temperature controls at your finger tips. He got us to the airport driving like a human being should in record time. DO NOT USE SuperShuttle in New York!! They are very disorganized and poorly managed company! I think they shouldn't be doing any business in NY! Below is what happened. At 1:00AM, I checked-in online using my phone. At 1:00-15AM, They sent multiple texts, but every text had differrent Vehicle Number (see my photo) It was strange. At 1:15AM, I called the dispatch using the built-in phone at the Welcome Center at Terminal 4 Domestic to make sure they know I checked-in and waiting to be picked up at the Welcome Center. .... At 2:30AM, I waited 1 hour 30 mins and I called dispatch, then she told me the driver has already left to the city!! She contacted the driver but the driver LIED to the dispatch, he went to the Terminal 4 Domestic where I was waiting. I was standing all the time and looking at the hall. The way how the arrival center was designed, you just cant miss anyone in SuperShuttle blue shirt. The person at Welcome Center and the Security person standing there, we all saw nobody came to pick me up. At 2:45AM, I gave up with this stupid company took a taxi back to the city. ($70 incl. tip) At 3:20AM, I got home in Upper West Side. I have already and filed formal complience to the SuperShuttle and I hope they will refund my money. And I am also planning to file the complience to Better Business Bureau. I hope the company will do something to the lying driver and the nasty dispatch lady. You know how some people are so hardcore they never give five stars for anything, well I'm that way about one stars. I just don't hand them out to anyone, this is my second one star rating. I try not to use the word fuck in my reviews too. I wish I would have read Yelp, live and learn. I book my shuttle for an 8a flight, she tells me to be ready at 450a. OK, I can dig it, I don't mind getting to the airport early, I could have a cup of coffee and relax. So I am down in the lobby around 430a, in case they happen to be early, you know, no time like the present. Wrong. He arrived around 520a. Gee thanks. Then when I get into the van, he has the radio turned to a normal to loud level, like when you are by yourself and then I'm in the backseat behind the backseat, so it's blaring. I tell him he has to turn the radio off or I need to get in the front seat. He was from a country where woman do not tell him what to do and he promptly told me that it's not loud. When someone is unreasonable and not polite, it trips my trigger, turn that radio down. It was blaring commercials for ten solid minutes. He even turned up the music up to thumping and said "this is loud." What a dick. I had earplugs because I went to see Ice Cube the night before, so earplugs in my ears, I was fine. The poor girl in the van, finally asked him to turn it down. Then we traipse all over Manhattan to pick up three more people. Finally we pick up the last lady and he freakin' says something about LGA. I ask incredulously, "we're going to LGA & JFK?". I about lost it. I'm thinking, I need to get a cab. So I asked him, are we going to LGA first, he told me no. Then what do we do? Drive to fucking LGA. Finally, I get to the airport at 645a- can you imagine how pissed I was to get up at 419a to get to the airport at 645a. Yes, I saved $20 and learned a valuable lesson. read more

Been a customer for 10 years and I am finally accepting that supershuttle has horrible service and customer service. Biggest tip if you decide to use them is never pay online. You will never get a refund no matter if it's your fault or not. It's you versus their machine and for some reason humans matters less to them. The reason why I was a customer for the past ten years was bc of the cost. I paid for what I got. I am quitting them because I paid for service I never received, they called the customer a liar, and wouldn't check the status of my shuttle when requested. Customers always lose. When I told them I've been with them for 10 years they came back with a backhand 'i see you only spent x amount in the past 6 months'. That does not mean I haven't been using the service for the past 10 years. Poor moves supershuttle. And of course, this isn't the first time you've heard of this. 4 out of 5 stars? Based on the other reviews you've read on this page, you're probably wondering if I made a mistake. Surprisingly I haven't! Recently took a family vacation to NYC. It was our first time, and after making hotel and flight reservations, I needed to figure out how to get us from LaGuardia to our hotel in Chelsea. Found HORRIBLE reviews for SuperShuttle and pretty much every other transportation service I could find. Being completely unfamiliar with the area and not wanting to take a cab or the subway, I decided to just take my chances and made a reservation with SuperShuttle for transportation from LGA to our hotel and back. We arrived around 11:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. Our scheduled pick-up time was around 11:30 p.m. Followed the instructions, called SuperShuttle from the ground transportation area at LGA, and was immediately told that it would be "at least" 45 minutes until we were picked up. I immediately started kicking myself, remembering all the horror stories I had read on Yelp about 2- and 3-hour delays. I told my family that if the shuttle didn't come in 45 minutes as promised, I would call, demand a refund, and pay for a cab. 45 minutes later, to my surprise, the shuttle arrived! There were already a couple people in the van, plus my family of 4, plus several other people also waiting, adding up to about 11 people. With that, the van was full and, after waiting about 10 minutes for the driver to figure out how he would drop everyone off, we were off! Arrived at the hotel shortly after. Total time from reservation to drop-off: 1.5 hours. We weren't necessarily in a huge rush to get to the hotel, so we were happy. The driver helped us with our bags and seemed friendly enough. Nice big sigh of relief. (Something to note: we were second dropped off despite other people having been in the van before us. Guess we lucked out. Keep in mind that you could possibly be picked up first and dropped off last. Bring a book to read or something, lol.) Day of departure was the following Saturday. Having read reviews of delays and people missing flights, I decided to schedule our pick-up for 9 a.m. even though our flight out of LGA wasn't until 1:40 p.m. Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call stating the van would be arriving 15 minutes early! Driver showed up like clockwork, helped us with our bags, and then proceeded to pick up several other passengers. We arrived to LGA around 10:30 a.m. Total time from reservation to drop-off: 1.5 hours again. Another big sigh of relief, and plenty of time to spare before our departing flight. Overall, I was completely satisfied with my experience. Considering this is a shuttle service in a highly congested area, I don't consider the time we spent waiting to be excessive, and the price was great. One thing I think might be helpful to check out if you do choose this company: their "Where's My Van?" service (https://m.supershuttle.com/Default.aspx?content=WhereIsMyVan). Type in your confirmation number and you can see, on a map, your van's location in relation to your pick-up point. When you're told the van is 15 minutes away, this can help you to determine if that's a legitimate claim or a flat-out lie (allowing you to come up with a good plan of action accordingly). I was able to use it on my phone and see the van getting closer (which definitely put me at ease), as opposed to wondering where in the hell it was. Would I use the company again? Sure. But I would still make sure to allow for plenty of travel time. In other words, don't schedule them to take you to the airport 1 hour before your flight. Pick the earliest time available just to be safe, and be ready to wait for other passengers. Bring your headphones or a magazine or something. Be prepared to wait and be prepared for a trip lasting at least 1.5 hours. If you keep these things in mind and schedule yourself accordingly I think you'll be fine. Thanks SuperShuttle! read more

I wish I could give negative stars. Please shoot me if I ever consider taking SuperShuttle ever again in hopes of saving a few bucks. After a 10 hr international flight the last thing you would want to do is wait 3 hrs to get home, but that's exactly what happened. I landed at 6 am this morning (saturday) and Immigration/customs and baggage was a total breeze. I had reserved the super shuttle prior to my trip so I thought the van would be waiting for me and i would be on my way home! WRONG!!! I went to the weclome service desk, checked in and then was told to wait for my driver. after 45 minutes, i called super shuttle to see how much more i had to wait. Apparently, the driver was there, but never came to get me (i was told to wait for him/her to call my name when i checked in). I was the the first to get picked up and so we had to go all over JFK to pick up the rest of the guests. I told the driver if I could be dropped off first and he agreed. I took a peek at his itinerary on his tablet and it was totally doable. There were 3 downtowners and 3 midtowners. As long as he took the BQE and got into the city via williamsburg bridge, it wouldn't have been a hassle or out of the way. Due to whatever thought process the driver had going on, i ended up being one of the last to be dropped off (he decided to take the queensboro bridge). So 6 am landing 6:30 am supershuttle checkin 7:20 am pick up 9:00 drop off at apt. Does that sound like a good experience to you? There must be some way to give SuperShuttle negative stars. I reserved a van WELL in advance (at least a month). Upon my arrival at LGA (11:40a), I immediately called SuperShuttle only to wait for the next available operator (15 min wait). When I finally reached someone it was already 11:54p. They said "Sorry we don't have any vans for you right now, the wait can be an hour plus". Contemplating whether I should wait or get a refund I decided to give them a chance and waited for 80 minutes. I called back furious and they responded "We still have no available vans for you". WTF??!! Screw it, I decided to cancel and get a refund. The lady said "Sorry we can't give refunds since its Thursday 1:20a and not Wednesday". Wow...just wow...I kept my cool and provided her with whatever information was needed to get a refund request, hung up and waved for a taxi. Super Shuttle charged me almost $20 including gratuity, a taxi was $22 including gratuity AND was much much faster. I will NEVER reserve with SuperShuttle and will NOT recommend this service to ANYONE. read more

This is for Super Shuttle from Laguardia Airport. I should of gotten car service or taken a taxi. I had to wait almost an hour to be picked up from Laguardia Airport and it took 1.5 hours to get to my apartment which should of only taken 20 minutes. I also had to listen to the driver bitch about how much he hated his job, like I care. I prepaid for my shuttle service online as well as gratuity. The driver said that gratuity doesn't go to him, so I gave him a few bucks. I don't care about the few bucks but I'm just wondering if he was lying to me or not. I'll give this 2 stars because he got me to where I needed to go. Edit: The story gets better. I took SS again back to the airport on my return trip, cuz I already paid for it. Driver was late picking me up and was driving recklessly. I was thinking, this guy is going to crash if he keeps driving like this. Sure enough he does....We got side swiped by a yellow cab, which cause my driver to swerve and hit a police car. He had to stay at the scene so he ended up calling another SS to drive us the rest of the way. Luckily I didn't miss my flight. read more

DO NOT take SuperShuttle. Just suck it up and spend the extra $20-25 for a taxi. After my flight landed I waited in the Welcome center area for an hour and followed the van the whole time on the link they sent through a text message. I know for a fact that the van did not even stop at my terminal because I was watching it the whole time. They lie and blame you. I checked in online per their instructions. I got a confirmation text with a guest number, and their app showed a van at the next terminal. Van never moved. Then I started getting new confirmation texts with new guest numbers saying I was checked in. Van still hadn't moved. I called them on the courtesy phone and they said I'd just checked in (though I'd checked in 30 minutes previously and had the text and guest number to prove it). They said since I had just checked in (lie!) I would have to wait another 30 minutes. Best I can determine, this is a SCAM where they send you a new guest number and every time they do, it resets the clock to give them more time to get more riders in each vehicle. I gave up and took a cab. I never canceled the ride and they continued sending me new texts with new guest numbers even though I'd been home for hours. If I hadn't taken (or been able to afford) alternate transportation, I think I'd still be at the airport. It's been 8 months. read more

Service - AVERAGE. VERY PROMPT. Price - $27-28 (including tip and tax) / one trip. Its interesting reading the other reports of SuperShuttle because I haven't had a bad experience with SS... yet. I've scheduled for 2 pick ups so far from my apartment in UES, and the service so far has been adequate to fulfill my needs. Paid $27-28 each time. Scheduling hasn't been a problem either, My flight was scheduled for 6.55AM and I called in the day before (or night before) to schedule a pick up from my apartment and there was no problem with scheduling for a pick up immediately the next day. The first time I called, I told them my flight was at 6.55AM and they recommended a pick up time of 2-2.30AM. I thought that was simply way too early so I asked if they could pick me up at 3AM instead to play it safe (i've never driven around NYC in the wee hours of the morning so I wasn't sure about traffic) and they said that they could pick me up then, but if I miss my flight I cannot sue them yada yada yada that it would be my fault if anything happened. I said that it was fine. They called my phone 1 min before arriving, and immediately 1 min later I saw that they had arrived in front of my apartment complex. The driver wasn't friendly, wasn't rude. took my luggage and stored it in the back and then we went off to pick up 1 more passenger before going to JFK. The van was a bit packed though, so be sure to be squeezed with other passengers when you're travelling with SS. It took only about 45 min max to get to JFK from the UES, and I was definitely the first person at my terminal. The second time, learning from the mistake of the first pick up, I asked if they could pick me up at 4AM. The lady once again reminded me that the recommended pick up time was 2AM and that I would be responsible for missing my flight. This time, they called me 3 min before arriving, and were very prompt with arrival. We then drove off to LGA to drop off 1/2 the van, and then the rest of us were then shuttled over to JFK afterwards. It took about an hour from leaving my apartment to getting to the airport. This time, I was still one of the first few to arrive at my gate. I think overall, if you're going to take SS from your residence to JFK and you're in Manhattan, you don't need to be picked up that early! You definitely make it to the airport in time if its the wee early hours in the morning. I can't speak for other travel times though. The service was fine. I heard the driver asking some of the customers if they had pre-paid and they said yes and he didn't have trouble believing them. I paid in cash. It was $25.25 so I ended up paying $27-28 each time. It is a bit pricey I think, but I think it's cheaper than taking a taxi to/from UES - JFK. Recommended if you don't have someone to come pick you up and you want to SAVE MONEY on the taxi and (CONVENIENCE) go straight to/from a residential address. read more

if i could give negative stars, here's the winner! incident 1: supershuttle takes over 2 hours to get from my place (downtown) to JFK at 5am when there is NO traffic. this was primarily b/c the driver didn;t know where most of the addresses were and did not seem to have an efficient route for the remaining pick-ups. as a result, i missed my flight. thanks stupidshuttle!!! incident 2: (NOTE: would not have taken SS again if not for the fact i was in a rush and didn't have time to research alternatives) i reserved an airport pickup with snowboarding gear. made it clear that i would have a 6' long bag with me when i booked the shuttle. this same bag has ridden in numerous SSs before without a problem. the driver took 45 minutes to arrive (past the already excessive 25 minute dispatch estimate). to boot, when he finally arrived, the driver was too lazy and/or incompetent to even TRY to put the bag in the van. it easily fits underneath the seats. instead, the driver tells me i need to reserve a private car, then drives away. upon calling the dispatcher, they tell me the driver reported that i had too many bags to fit into the van. i had ONE bag. a second shuttle finally arrives, where i had to convince the driver to TRY putting it under the seat. basically, they didn't even want to bother, all in, it took 2:45 to get home from JFK. i HATE supershuttle. don't go. they have the plague. read more

Extraordinarily long wait time. Have been waiting for more than an hour since 1:30am at EWR (Newark) and this is certainly not considered "peak arrival times." No customer service representative on site. No further communication until I called and was initially told that the driver would arrive within 15 minutes. Subsequently received a call back 10 minutes later to tell me I need to wait at least another 25 minutes. The only saving grace was that they allowed me to cancel my reservation at this point so that I could go take an Uber instead (hopefully the refund comes through). If you value your time (and sleep), taking Supershuttle is not worth the cost savings (since, as we all know, time is money). This is all coming from someone who has previously taken Supershuttle on more than a handful of occasions in the past and never encountered such egregious and unacceptable wait times. Wish I had checked Yelp before I booked them. I could've taken an Uber for the same price and been happier. The dispatcher called me numerous times from the second I landed to see where I was. This would not have been a problem if it wasn't every minute. Then when he determined I was in the airport he checked me in even before the airline had started unloading bags from the plane. This resulted in the driver then calling numerous times to ask where I was. He then berated me for signing in too early when he found out I didn't even have my bag yet. I had never checked in that I did have it!!!!!! When I did finally get my bag and go outside he grabbed it, tossed it into the back and proceeded to drive crazily . Thank god I was the first stop. While the concept is sound I find the drivers and dispatchers to be rude and unprofessional. Never again. I'd rather walk! read more
