I booked a round trip from/to the LGA for my holiday weekend in advance. The pickup from LGA was a little long (about an HR) considering I booked in advance so they knew when I would be coming in. They want to make sure the van is full so we had to wait even longer once in the van. The trip in to NYC took about 2 hrs. So, overall it took 3.5 hrs from the time I got my bag until when I arrived at the hotel. It could have been worse but it certainly has been better. The return trip never occured. One hr before they were to pick me up, they texted me to tell me they cancelled my trip but would refund the fee. Great considering you can't keep the money when you don't provide the service. I called them as I needed to get to the airport. The customer service simply told me the same thing the text said and offered no help or even a suggestion as to how to arrange transportation. I am glad I was checking my texts or I might have missed my flight. The hotel I was staying in was great. They arranged a car service to pick us up around the same time super shuttle was supposed to pick us up. Of course, it was more as it was last minute but if another agency could find a driver to help out a customer why could supper shuttle not do the same thing or even give ideas about how to get to the airport and not miss my flight? I have used super shuttle company in the past and it was never great, but this is completely unacceptable. read more

My daughter had a Super Shuttle reservation going to Canada from LGA. The van was supposed to pick her up between 6:15 and 6:30. As she was going down the elevator, the van called to let her know she would be picked up AN HOUR later. I called their customer service and they kept me on hold forever. When she finally came back on the line, she advised that the dispatcher said that the van would be here between 6:30-6:45 ----It was already 6:35---When I asked for a refund, Elaine informed me that I couldn't get one as I hadn't given them 2 hours notice!! At 6;45 no van had shown up and my daughter was forced to grab a cab. I spoke then spoke with Jasmine, Elaine's supervisor who told me that I would be issued a credit in 3-5 business days but I called my c/c company anyway. Super Shuttle might work well in other cities, but it is a disaster here in NY. read more

Super great! The driver was confident but very personable. It was my first time ever in NYC so naturally I was a little terrified driving around in rush hour traffic in the rain. Despite the hectic situation he was still able to navigate well and even carry on a pleasant conversation which really helped to ease my worries. He let me know throughout the trip what was going on and where we were. Not ever having been there, that meant the world to me. My only regret is not tipping him more before hand. Awful. Just used this service on 12/23/13 to go to JFK. The driver was 7 minutes early so I had to scramble to get downstairs. When I arrived, the one other passenger said I was lucky because the driver was about to leave. We proceeded to pick up several other passengers and after he did, the driver started heading uptown. I was wondering why he wasn't taking the Queens Midtown Tunnel and when I saw he was headed for the 59th St. Bridge, I asked him if the van was going to JFK. He said he was going to LaGuardia first. WHAT??? I ordered the van for JFK. I told him I was concerned that I would miss my flight and he asked me what time my flight was and whether it was domestic or international, not that it mattered at that point. He told me not to worry and that I'd make my flight. He was argumentative and told me I was seven minutes late, but my pick up time was 4:37 a.m. and he was there at 4:30. I decided not to get into it with him because I didn't want him sabotaging my trip and he had been argumentative with another passenger earlier. So we drove all through LGA dropping off passengers and the clock was ticking. And it was raining. Finally got to JFK and, as expected, the terminal was packed with holiday travelers and I still had to check my bag and go through security. I did make my flight with little time to spare no thanks to SuperShuttle. Also, the van smelled like old stale farts. Couldn't even open a window. The driver spoke English poorly and had no customer service skills. The other bad experience I had with this company was going from JFK to Manhattan. Once in the van, we waited and waited and waited until the van was full with passengers. We waited so long that one of the supervisors gave everyone a discount coupon to use for future trips. Confident woman. OK, with a full van we proceeded to Manhattan. We were on the BQE and I could see the entrance to the Queens Midtown Tunnel up ahead. Finally, I would be home soon. Or so I thought. All of a sudden, the driver bangs a right off the BQE and we started heading north through Long Island City. What the heck was he doing? While in Queens, the driver made a stop, got out of the van and left us waiting there. Guess he had a personal errand to run. Back in the van, this guy heads towards the 59th Street Bridge. Did I mention that tolls are included in the price? Who's pocketing that money? We finally get into Manhattan and he starts to head downtown to make his first drop, which, as it turns out, is in the area of the Queens Midtown Tunnel exit. I was the last person to be dropped off. My flight had arrived just before 5:30 and it was now 7:45 pm, so it took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get home from the airport. Why? My advice to anyone thinking of using this service is to walk to the airport before you get in one of these vans. The bus service is much better and the only reason I didn't take it is because it doesn't give door to door service. But, if the bus says it's going to JFK, it's going to JFK and not LaGuardia first. And they do take the Queens Midtown Tunnel. After that, it's a short cab ride from the Grand Central Station area to various parts of Manhattan. I just want to mention that when I returned from my recent holiday trip, I took a cab home. Door to door it took 40 minutes and it didn't smell. read more

We booked our ride the morning of our flight which may have been a little late. However the description on the website makes it sound like the shuttle will come rather quickly after you land and this was not he case. We waited over 30 minutes before we got in the van. Not a very friendly driver and the van itself dos not feel 100% safe. In the absolute best case scenario this service will act like a taxi but you run the risk of waiting a very long time, especially if you are not the first group dropped off. I would have preferred to get a taxi. read more

Waited 40 minutes to get picked up from our hotel to the airport. If you think LA drivers are bad, NYC drivers are THE WORST drivers in the world period. Horrible service. Won't recommend at all. We got off at JFK and were told the driver will be there in 20-25 mins. After 45 min wait, I called them back and they said another 15 mins. The driver showed up after more than an hour had passed and this is after making the reservation online with the flight details. But the story didn't end there. He made us wait for another 25 mins for other passengers to show up. Then he drove around for another half an hour at different terminals trying to get more customers (which he didn't manage to). Overall, it took us 3.5 hours to get home from JFK to downtown NYC. Definitely not worth the hassle. read more

A horrible experience. They lied about how long a wait-time before pick up. I was at the airport a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes before the van actually left the airport. And then it drove to 5 different neighborhoods East and West all over NYC. The van was shabby, needed new shock absorbers. and made a lot of noise as it rode. It was a two hour nightmare until I got to my door. If your time is completely free, and you are in no rush to get to your destination, then fine. For me it was a frustrating waste two hours. Use other transport; even a turtle might get you there faster. read more

I booked them through their APP. I checked in and took about 20 minutes for us to get our ride. I check in also through the APP. I called from the welcome center just to verify because I'm paranoid but everything was alright. The driver came to the Welcome Center and he had my name written in his iPad. We loaded the van and took our seat. Driver for van780 is very nice and courteous. I will update once my trip is finished as our van is packed! But I think it's only 2-3 stops total. read more

I regretted choosing to take Super Shuttle from JFK airport by the time we left the airport because the driver wanted to pick up more people and made a couple of more stops at various points/entry at the airport and it was about 40 minutes of waiting inside the van. The price was around $21 and not including tax. I think for the amount of time spent waiting to depart and drop others off the $21 was not worth it. After the shuttle was completely full we then finally head out to drop off the riders. There were 4 people already in the van prior to me that must have waited about an hour before we made it out of the airport area. It took me about 1 hour and 45 minutes to wait my turn and get dropped off at my hotel in Chelsea. I would advise inquiring on when the shuttle will leave the airport and expected arrival time at the destination for anyone considering taking this shuttle. If not, flights, trains, and appointments may be missed. Next time I will stick with the train, Uber, or cab instead. read more

The Super Shuttle took me from LGA right to my building on the Upper West Side - and then, a week later, back again! There were other passengers in the van coming into NYC, but I was the first to be dropped off. On the way back, I was the only passenger. For $20, it's well worth the money! Much cheaper than a taxi, and so much quicker and easier than taking a bus to the subway to another bus or subway! You do have to allow a good deal of extra time for getting to the airport. But I'm sold! I will definitely use this in the future! read more

He first told the price is 19USD/person, but at the grand central station, he first said the card machine won't work in the area and we must either GO BACK TO THE AIRPORT or get cash at ATM. Then he finally admit we can use card but then he charged 26USD/person pretending we misheard the price and also demanding extra fee to use card. And no one else in the full bus used the station. Later we found the shuttle is reservation based, so he shouldn't offer the ride at the airport. What is worse, the company replied me that I need VAN NUMBER to request the investigation to the company. ALL THESE EVENT SUGGEST THE DRIVERS ARE SCAMMER AND THE COMPANY DOESNT TAKE ACTION. ---- I just got their automatic reply...just to pretend they took it seriously. Super LONG WAIT for Super Shuttle at LGA. Was told wait of approx 25 mins which was a little surprising as I have pre booked a reservation. Then after 35 mins the customer service representative placed a call and I was told the driver had to be switched and no more than another 10 mins wait. After another 25 mins I was told the driver was on his way and eventually after 75 mins of waiting the driver turned up 50 mins LATE. I logged a complaint form as I had plenty of time - after my promised 10 mins wait which turned into more than 30 mins wait - to complete the form! VERY POOR service from Super Shuttle, but I would give 5 stars to the three customer service agents at the Ground Transportation desk. They were helpful and friendly but situation was out of their control. I have used Super Shuttle at many airports and been pleased but service at LGA is unacceptable! read more

100 times no. I've taken super shuttle 3 times: twice to JFK and once home from JFK. Each time was worse than the time before. I'm currently writing this review from home since my 2 hour shuttle ride caused me to miss my flight. The driver was rude, late, and wreckless. One passenger got out to take a cab and I first thought he was an as*hole but hindsight shows he was the smartest of all. Suck it up and carry your luggage on the subway or pay for a cab. read more

If you want to take a bus that takes 4 hours to drop you off in New York City from Newark airport which is only 25-30 minutes away, by all means take the super shuttle. Not only did it take 4 hours, the attendants in the airport were completely unorganized and very gossipy with each other. Take public transit. The first driver that arrived to pick us up, spoke with us and told us that he didn't room for us on the van and that we would have wait for another driver - he refused to take us to the hotel. We waited another 90 minutes for the 2nd driver who was extremely personable, helpful and pleasant. That experience was very positive and we tipped the driver well. But the experience we had with customer service on the phone was horrible. They promised a driver within 30 min the first time who arrived an hour later and left us. Then, they promised a 2nd within 20 min and we waited 90 min. After being abandoned and misled, we would definitely use a different company next time and wouldn't recommend Super Shuttle our friends and family. read more

The driver in NY of this company at night was very aggressive. This is my first time to try share shuttle. And also my first time in NY. I come to travel with my mother. Usually I used private. My route was LGA to hotel in NY. I am arrived at 20.30 and we arrived to the hotel around 22.30-23.00. He ask me to walk to the hotel because our hotel is on one way road. I don't want my mother walk at late night so I don't accept for his asking. He was very angry. After he take me to hotel. He still look at me and let me pick up my luggage bu myself. I would rate Zero stars if I could! Was picked up from Newark Airport in a van filled with nine customers. We were well on our way home when the driver turned around for customers at the airport who complained about not making our van. Turned around and went back to the airport only to find out the complaining customers wouldn't be ready for another ten to fifteen minutes, and the driver subsequently left the airport for the second time with no additional passengers! This terribly frustrating experience would have been one thing if the driver were polite and apologetic about experience, but that couldn't have been further from the case. When a passenger indicated she would no longer use Super Shuttle, the driver cavalierly responded that the service would just gain additional passengers. read more

My experience with super shuttle was a seemingly never ending experience just like some of the other yelpers. My flight gets into JFK about 40 minutes earlier than expected and by the time I got my bags it was about 5:30 AM so I think cool I can get the super shuttle a little earlier. WRONG! I find out the super shuttle doesn't actually start running until 6:00 AM. Finally at about 6:05 AM I see the super shuttle guy walking around as if he's really confused and disoriented trying to figure out who to pick up. He finally calls out my last name and I'm like cool that's my guy. He loads my suitcase and the two other passengers in the super shuttle and I think we're finally on our way. WRONG AGAIN! Without saying a word he goes back into the airport leaving us in the super shuttle wondering "what the f*&ck" for about 20 minutes. We finally leave that gate only to drive around the airport for about 40 minutes more to pick up even more passengers. He's driving so erratically the whole time I feel like I'm gonna vomit all over the place. While he's driving he's mumbling stuff under his breath and when anyone asks him a question he just mumbles or has a blank stare on his face. I'm thinking "what the hell kinda people are they hiring at super shuttle, this guy is a freak". After 9 AM I finally reach my destination on upper east side Manhattan since I'm almost the last person to be dropped off. At this point I'm hating super shuttle and questioning whether I want to take it to JFK when I leave. Since I'm super cheap I suck it up and decide to give super shuttle another chance. They actually ended up picking me up within the time frame I requested and this time I was the last person to be picked up so we went straight to the airport. I was the last person to be dropped off and this trip only took 40 minutes in comparison to the 3 hours it took to get to Manhattan. ahhhh they really make me angry sometimes with their lack of communication between the upper ppl and the drivers. They also suck at directions, they sometimes literally go around the block ten times just trying to find a stupid apartment! OhHh anddddd sometimes they'd go to a place to pick up someone and NO ONE's THERE! Last friday, They picked up three people in the beginning, and wasted about an hour circling around picking up nobody! Normally I am usually very happy with the service I receive from Super Shuttle. I almost always use them to drive me TO the airport. My last trip I made the bad decision to use them to drive me home as well. Well, not only did I have to wait 30 minutes for the driver to pick us up, but he also made 5 more stops after that to pick up more passengers. I was the last to be dropped off 3 hours after I landed. I should have paid $45 to get back to Manhattan instead of trying to save $20 by using Super Shuttle. It was uncomfortable and after a 6 hour flight, the last thing you want to do. read more

A horrible experience. My wife and I flew to new York , September of of 2010. It was our 1st trip to the big apple. we made prior arrangement to catch Super Shuttle, and they showed up as promised. The problem was that we gave the driver the address to the Hilton Time Square. and He totally dropped us off on the wrong street, then lied to us. He swore the entrance was around the corner, but do to the heavy traffic he couldn't get to it. we believed him and even tipped him well. We ended up walking 4 blocks. And i mean 4 NEW YORK blocks. Horrible. I used to love this service but I will never use it again. On my way home from Hawaii I decided to reserve a seat because no one could pick me up, I put in my number of bags booked it and went about my business. Upon arrival of the shuttle, which was 45 mind late, I was told I had to pay $10 extra per bag because I had more than two. I can understand an extra bag charge, but if you ask me how many checked bags I have and I tell you four then you charge me for the extra then or have something alerting me to the fact that I will be charged for the bags. You don't wait untill pick up and throw on extra charges and then get an attitude when I inquire about why this is. For $70 I could've gotten a private car and not have to sit through multiple drop offs, and it wouldn't have taken me 3 hrs to get to Manhattan from Newark. Never again. read more

I read a lot of negative comments here before booking. However, I decided to give it a shot since I was in no rush to get from the airport to the city. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised. I took the shuttle from LGA to Hells Kitchen. Everything went very smoothly and in a reasonable timeframe. My recommendation would be if your in a hurry take a personal transportation service but if you have a little extra time and want to save $$$ on your transportation, then give the Super Shuttle shared ride a try. read more

I took Super Shuttle home from JFK after arriving around 11:30pm last night - I would've been better off spending the extra $20 on a cab. The driver took 30 minutes to arrive, and there was another passenger who'd been waiting longer than I had. They put 10 of us in the van, which is not a comfortable experience. Passengers lived everywhere from Fort George to midtown-West. Thank goodness I live in the middle, but I hate to think how long it took the passengers left in the van to get home! All in all, it took me 2 hours to get home the airport - after a cross-country flight, it was exactly what I did NOT want. The only reason I give it 2 stars is that the driver was really polite and seemed to be making a considerable effort to get us home efficiently. The idea behind the model is superior, however the customer service and professionalism is lacking. I scheduled service 2 days prior to pickup, and reconfirmed with a customer service rep 1 day previous to pickup that the itinerary was set and a van would be available. I was rudely awaken one hour previous to a 4:45 am pick up by a phone call from a dispatcher advising they could not fulfill the service and that they have already refunded the balance to my credit card, he then hung up. I was stuck with little time to rearrange reservations, and at 3:45 in the morning, few options....MTA happen to be much more reliable. This service is awful. The van arrived 10 minutes past the 15 minute window that I selected. It was crowded and extremely messy with little leg room. The driver was kind enough, but he seemed to have brought a friend along with him and the two were yapping away the whole ride. My trip from the Upper West Side to JFK took approximately 2 hours. Of course the horrible NYC rush hour traffic is not the fault of Super Shuttle. Primarily because of the very poor quality service, I will not be using Super Shuttle. I recommend taking either the A line of the MTA or spending the extra money and getting a yellow cab. read more

Being a native New Yorker, I've used supershuttle many times. There are always issues, but this last trip was it for me. I booked a reservation from laguardia to my home 2 days prior to my trip. Got to the check in desk at 8:52pm and was handed a print-out that stated the driver would arrive at 9:22pm. At 9:35pm the desk agent calls supershuttle to find out why I haven't been picked up, and the driver said he needed 10 more minutes. So, 25 minutes later (over an HOUR after I checked in), the driver finally shows up. I asked why he was so late, and he just replied, "I don't know, call them! Get on it!" and turned his back to me. On top of all that and the seatbelts not working (which everyone who's ridden supershuttle knows you need), my van took people going to both the East and West sides of Manhattan, making the drive home twice as long as it needed to be. If you ever try to get supershuttle from your home/hotel TO the airport, keep in mind that they may schedule your pick-up 3-4 hours before your departure (domestic!). They will show up late even though you will be on time. You'll probably miss your flight. JUST TAKE A CAB! It's worth the extra money. If there's 2 or more people in your group, it's often more cost-effective to take a taxi anyway. *Be wary of pre-booking your supershuttle ride to Brooklyn through travel sites, as I saw a guy who had done so and they would not honor it; they talked him into spending $125 on a private car service instead. Meanwhile, a cab to Brooklyn is $45 ($20 less than he pre-paid for his family to take supershuttle). read more

So after writing my review SuperShuttle asked me if I wanted to follow up with someone, here's what i had to say - I'm not sure there is anything to follow up on - if you were stranded at 1:30 am with no transportation alternatives except spending $100 on a cab ride you couldn't afford you'd be spending the night on the cold floor. They said no longer than 30 minute wait but I ended up waiting for at least 45 minutes to an hour. One of the transportation authority people were nice enough to help me call to check on the status on my ride but he ended up being placed on hold for like 10 minutes and instead of taking him off of hold they call him back on another phone. I think taking the bus would have been cheaper faster or the same as using this service. If you're in a rush I wouldn't recommend this service. I'll be finding another mode of transportation going back to the airport. read more

NEVER EVER using again. I booked a roundtrip to JFK because I knew I had a late flight back into the city. My flight arrived on time at 12.30 am and I checked in at 1 am. I was told the shuttle would be there in 30 minutes. After 1 hour, still nothing so I called and was told that the wait time was a total of 90 minutes. The person was not friendly at all and seemed bothered that I was upset. I figured I might as well wait 30 more minutes. I will spare the rest of the details but after a couple more phone calls and worthless promises, I ended up waiting OVER 3 HOURS before the shuttle finally showed. read more
