Had a bad experience going from JFK to Midtown Manhattan on a weekday evening with the traffic. The van was full and the driver was weaving in and out of traffic like crazy. Did not help after a long flight. Took about 2 hrs to reach from the airport to the hotel. We tried to save money and ended up wasting money and time.The 2 stars is for the return trip from hotel to LGA which was much more pleasant and the driver was good at the wheel. It took us about 30 minutes to get there. If you are packed light, its better to take the subway and if your office sponsored your trip take a cab. read more

I've taken the super shuttle 2 times from Manhattan to JFK roundtrip. Each time they were on time and called prior to pickup. From the airport home the wait isn't bad - just make sure you check in at the service counter so they know to get you. read more

I booked a shuttle to the Pittsburgh airport 2 days in advance of my pick up. Super Shuttle confirmed my ride and I paid in full. My pick up was for 5:15am and they texted me at 4:55am -20 mins before they were to pick me up to cancel my ride. So now I'm stranded at my hotel at 5:00am with no ride to the airport. Very unreliable and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. read more

If you have nothing else to do for a bunch of hours, take super shuttle. Wow, it was so slow and tons of stops. They said it takes 3 hours to get to laguardia from midtown. Crazy. Absolutely terrible and a huge waste of time. Walking would be cheaper and probably save you time. Had to delay my van due to AA sending my bag on another flight, which SuperShuttle said they would not be a problem. 90 minutes later, I was still stuck at the airport. They kept swinging around and never picked me up. They told me they had picked up someone with the same name by accident (sure you did). In the end, it took me 2.5 hours to get into Manhattan and two-thirds of that was waiting for one of these vans to pick me up. This will be the final time I use their service. read more

What a horrible service to use in NYC. The first time I used Supershuttle they picked me up from my apartment an hour late. The second time I used them, they picked me up from the airport 2 hours late. The third time I used them the driver decided he didn't want to pick me up and just left me at the airport, causing me to wait an hour an a half for a ride. Supershuttle, I know your company means well and in other cities it is much more reliable, but the drivers that take on your name in NYC really lower your company's standards. This goes to show you in a franchised company, higher standards need to be tested prior to hiring someone to carry on your name. read more

Super Shuttle super disappointing. I made online reservation and paid in advance, including tip for driver. My flight arrived on time. SS claims that there are representatives in red jackets to help at airport. There are none at La Guardia, only reps for Port Authority. That woman phoned SS for me, I was told 45 minute wait for pickup. There is nowhere to sit to wait, and it's 11PM. I have had more than a few terrible experiences w Super Shuttle, including be where the driver got into a fender bender in December and I walked 10 blocks home in the snow, with luggage. Next time I'm trying Golden Touch or Airlink NY. read more

Completely late-I waited 40 min. The driver doesn't contact you even when I asked for an update. When he arrived he wouldn't let me in the car but made me wait longer. Not worth the savings. And don't tip online. You'll never get good service. read more

SHUTTLE DIDN'T SHOW UP! We had 2 bookings from the same address for the same flight. One shuttle showed up and we asked if we could all get in one van. We were informed there was a second one on the way. We waited for 40 mins, and 10 mins past our pickup time and no second shuttle. Our friends on the first shuttle didn't pick anyone else up, they had 3 spare seats. We called and got hung up on twice, then transferred 5 times. Finally someone informed us our shuttle had arrived and no one was there (we were waiting the whole time). She then put us on hold for another 8 minutes to see if someone could pick us up. We were then informed no one is in the area - you'll have to apply for a refund. We were left with almost no money and time to get to the airport, in pouring rain. Worst ride ever! I requested an ExecuCar Luxury Van for $300 and I got an old SUV. Total junk! I spent the ride sitting on my bags and that isn't even the good part. I called an tried to complain 1 day after (March 25) but I was told I had to contact them online. I have 6, yes 6 ticket numbers from them and have not heard anything from them. The first ticket was submitted almost 2 months ago. Worst customer service ever! I will never use again. ***Edit*** I emailed them and I am still waiting to here back. I used Super Shuttle a few years back.. but it was an experience that I will never forget so I thought I should share it. I got picked up from JFK.. and got in the packed van full of passengers. The driver then drove to Queens, which we all thought was somebody's drop-off location. We were all really confused when he parked the car, got out and was gone for about 15- 20 minutes. He came back with a slice of pizza and a lady friend who sat in the front seat (this was a completely residential area). He then drove back to the airport to pick somebody else up.. He drove like a maniac and got really pissed off when other passengers asked him where he was going and started to yell and cuss people out. All the other passengers in the van (minus the lady friend in the front seat) whispered to each other confused and scared. I finally got to my location in Manhattan (hours later, of course) and the driver then asked me for payment. When I told him I prepaid and showed him the confirmation, he didn't believe me.. He wouldn't let me leave until I paid again.. then cussed me out when I didn't leave a tip. This was the short version of what happened, but it covers the main events. One of the most unsettling rides of my life. Like most other reviewers, never again. 8/15/12 edit - Just wanted to update my review to note that a customer service representative reached out to me after I left my review. While she couldn't help me out directly, she did encourage me to contact their national customer care team. I'm writing this only with the experience of going to the airport. The van came relatively on time (5 minutes after the time window given). The time spent in the van depends on when you are picked up. I personally spent about 40 minutes. Some people spent an hour some spent only 20 minutes. Basically, you get what you pay for. It's super cheap but do not expect a first class ride. read more

Reading all the reviews on here, I was really hesitant to call SuperShuttle to provide a ride from Deer Park to JFK. But given we were a party of 6 (me, my wife, my two daughters, and my parents), I had little choice (at least at a reasonable cost). So I opted for a exclusive van. Through the website, the latest pick up time was 5:00am for a 8:47am flight. In that amount of time, I can probably make 2 round trips to JFK from my home. Anyway, I called and asked if I could change the time to 6:00am instead. With no problems, they changed my pick up time. And guess what? The driver showed up at 6:00am! He was courteous, polite, helped all of us with our luggage and reminded/asked us if we remembered all our phones, passports, keys, etc., which I thought was really nice. And in less than an hour, were were at JFK. At this point, I don't understand what all the negativity was about on Yelp. I would have easily given at least 4 stars for the trip to the airport. It was as smooth as can be. So as you may have guessed by now, the return trip was where we had some issues. First, let me say that I like the technology. I got a text message the day of my trip reminding me about my pick up and to encourage me to use the mobile check in. So when I landed and got my luggage, I did just that. I could see the map of the van in relation to where we were. Awesome. The van was in the cargo area and it should be curbside in just a few minutes, right? Well, this guy must have been pushing the van because it took close to 1.5 hours to get to where we were. I live in Suffolk County Long Island and I probably could have driven home and back to the airport faster than this guy took to get from the cargo area to our pick up area outside the terminal. Terrible. It was a late flight. The lines for customs and luggage were already horrible and now we have to wait over an hour for this van? Needless to say, this made all my family members very irritable. I just don't understand how that's possible because I travel a good amount for work and it normally takes my driver 5-10 minutes to get to curbside after I call him. Anyway, I would absolutely do exclusive van pick up again for a large party TO the airport. But for the return trip home, I would avoid it like the plague! read more

Do NOT gamble with this unreliable service. They do not guarantee a transfer. Here is my experience: I booked a voucher for their service on viator for transfer from Baltimore airport to Washington DC. I called them to confirm my reservation. I got an email and sms confirmation and they assured me that I gonna be transferred as scheduled. I flew into DC, got another sms confirmation with instructions where to find their staff member. I did so, gave my details and the lady said that I will be on my way to DC in 30 minutes. 1 hour later, after I asked where is that van, the lady said that she's sorry but there are no shuttles available which go to DC and that they can refund me. I was shocked! I called their operator, first he said that there are no shuttles and that this service is not a guarantee and that I am a standby customer so they don't offer a guarantee. After going back and forth for 10 minutes or so and after I proved I have a reservation, he found it and confirmed it is in their system, but said that they still don't have any vans, their service is not guaranteed and that they will send me a refund. by that time it was 12 AM and I had to book a uber ride which costed me $58 (which I should have done in the first place and not book this scam!) plus they wasted 3 hours of my time with all the reservations, confirmations, waiting and talking with their disorganized and disrespectful staff. also, I NEVER GOT a REFUND which they said they will send! my reservation confirmation number was 1308852 my guest number was 654 all those numbers don't mean anything. unfortunately it seems they are completely disorganized and unreliable. read more

I arrived at LGA and had no arrangements to get to my hotel in Garden City. I expected to catch a shuttle van. LGA's ground transportation called the driver to get an ETA & was told 30 minutes. The driver arrived in :20. He was told that he was on standby to wait for others. I wasn't bothered & was in no big hurry. The wait ended up being a little long though, about :25 min. We ended up waiting for nothing as he got no additional riders. The dispatcher forgot about us. My driver & I got along great, cracking jokes the whole time. I liked him very much. The unnecessary wait went by much faster because of him. Once on our way, the drive went very smoothly. read more

Supershuttle NYC/JFK/EWR is broken. Pre-paid reservation was not being honored and I was asked to join a long waiting line of walk-ins. Missed bus and took a total 2.5 hrs to the city. Inacceptable, it's a big liability for the SUPERSHUTTLE brand that works ok in other cities. read more

The customer service never call me back when they ask me to leave my phone number on machine. The lost and found department is fake. I am shocked at all the negative reviews. I had a 650 am flight out of Newark and after researching several options it seemed that super shuttle was a door to door service that was the least expensive. My pick up was at 345 and the driver was there promptly, had a positive attitude and was jamming to some good music. The only real downside was that I was the first pick up so it did take a while to get to the airport (got here at 5 am and was coming for the ues).. However,nI am a firm believer of you get what you pay for- if I wanted door to door service with no waiting for other passengers I would have taken a 90 dollar yellow taxi. I have used super shuttle service 3 times. I had them come to my place to pick me up at the first time. They were on time, which was good. But when I scheduled for picking up at the LGA airport. It was terrible!! I had them picked up at LGA airport twice and ended up cancel both times after waiting 1.5 hours. It's too rediculous. I don't know what's the meaning for us to schedule/reserve it online if we still have to wait for so long. Seriously!!! 1.5 hours.. If I take subway, I am already home. I have taken Super Shuttle twice recently. Manhattan to Newark Airport. I chose to take Supper Shuttle because New Jersey Transit doesn't run all night, and in both cases, I had an early morning flight from Newark Airport. The first trip it was slightly late, but on my most recent trip, Super Shuttle was an hour late -- at 3 in the morning. The driver couldn't be reached, and the customer service people I spoke to were unsure if he were actually going to show up at all. If not, I would have been stranded without an easy way to get to Newark Airport at 3am on a Sunday. Luckily the driver/van showed up, but I barely made my flight. Lesson learned. I will not use Super Shuttle again. Mainly because the customer service is shoddy at best. read more

Terrible first experience! 745pm-800pm reservation, drivers leaves msg to change pickup time to 730pm. In the cell dead zone at Javits I don't get the msg until 740pm when I step outside to meet van. Called SuperShuttle and was told the "system" said I was already on the van! Dispatch contacted driver who said that I was not there at 746pm so he left w/o me. Customer service says they can't prove where I was when I called so they "try" to get me a refund. They should try to keep their reservations and not hire drivers that are lying sacks of crap. read more

Once again I took Super Shuttle against my better judgement b/c it was significantly cheaper than a taxi or Uber. Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps other people. When you sign up for SuperShuttle, you are taking a gamble. I have use this company in many different cities. It seems highly variable the experience you get as far as what the wait might be. Here's my experience this time at JFK. Booking online is easy as always. The info is straightforward and you immediately get a confirmation. When I land at the JFK airport, it was pretty straight forward too. The instructions tell you to head down to Ground Transportation. I check in with the guy at the counter, he tells me "25 minute wait for the shuttle". OK this seems all very reasonable and expected. The shuttle gets there about 20 minutes later, so it is already better than expected at the very beginning. However, it turns out that I am the very first passenger. We then proceed to drive to multiple other terminals, with long stops at each one, picking up 10 total passengers. Yes that's 9 additional stops. The shuttle was packed completely full. It had taken over an hour (plus add on the 20 minutes, so that's over 80 minutes wait) and we were STILL at the airport. I had landed at 3:15pm, but by the time that we were finally pulling away from the airport, the traffic is bad, what can you expect on a weekday, right? I guess I just didn't expect to wait over 90 minutes and still not have left the airport. But hey, it's JFK, a big crowded airport. By the time the shuttle driver dropped off the first passenger at her hotel, it was already 3 hours AFTER I had landed. Since the driver wouldn't tell us what order we were going to be dropped off in, I couldn't risk potentially being the 10th passenger to be dropped off. At the rate we were going, it could have been another hour! The drop off of that first passenger took another 5-10 minutes b/c that person hadn't prepaid and apparently didn't have any cash and the credit card machine must have been having issues. During that wait, I decided to hop out of the shuttle (since I had a meeting to catch), tipped the driver and walked the rest of the way. It was only a mile at that point and the weather was nice. When I looked up transportation times, it looked like 30 minute drive vs slightly over an hour to take subway + bus combo. Seems like a good deal with the SuperShuttle, plus I didn't have to figure out the public transportation system. In retrospect, I would have much rather tried to figure out the subway system. I recommend you go that route unless you are carrying a lot of luggage. I only had carryon luggage and the weather was nice that day, so I really should have taken the subway. I would have gotten to the hotel in the time that it took us to just pick up the 9 other passengers and still be sitting at the airport. Of course, hindsight is always 20/20. Of course it could have been not that bad if I had been the LAST one to be picked up, since then you are eliminating 90+ minutes off of the whole wait time at the airport. On the way back to the airport, the ride picked me up slightly outside of the 15 minute window that they gave as an estimate. It was only 5 minutes beyond that window. The customer service rep was very helpful in giving me info on where the shuttle was when I called (which should be easy to figure out in this day and age with smart phones and what not). Since I was the LAST person to be picked up, we headed towards the airport at that point. Because there was some bike race that day and she shut down some of the streets, the traffic was pretty bad, but that only took a total of 60 minutes, much better than the over 3 hours it took on the way to the airport. Bottom line: if you value your time and don't want to risk potentially taking 3 hours to get home, then you should pick something else. If time is not of the essence to you and you don't mind taking that risk of having more than 3 hour commute to home for only 10 miles, then this might be a good option for you. I still gave it 3 stars because it is an ok option and you get what you pay for. I would still consider using them in the future depending on factors such as weather, time of day, how much luggage I have, who I'm traveling with, etc. read more

Could I give zero stars? Left LGA at 1:30 and I'm still in the shuttle 2 hours later. There was no rhyme or reason to how our driver dropped us off. We were in midtown, then Times Square (but not yet mine and another passengers hotel) instead of dropping us off, he took us back down to the financial district. Booked my reservation online and came to the counter where a JFK airport representative told me that I should pick up the self service phone to check in. I did and told that it would be a 30 minute wait as the driver has to make other terminal stops. Fair enough. It's an hour later. Still no driver. I just got off the phone again with a very tired sounding Super Shuttle rep who told me that my driver is about 10-20 minutes away. I'm exhausted after having flown over 24 hours. But here I am in JFK T5. Still waiting. My plane had landed almost 2 hours ago. Unacceptable. read more

Only reason why I didn't give 5 stars, a cab cut him off and he pulled up infront of the cab, blocking him in for a minute or two and than driving really close next the same cab, almost hitting eachother, that was a bit childish but very NY style. hahaha The price is great, I would highly recommend them to my friends. read more

They got one star only because that's the lowest I can give and we did have one decent pickup. Late almost an hour to start with because he was lost. I called and messaged both dispatch and the driver and they still couldn't find us. We were on the corner 6th and 37th. Not exactly a hard address. He made the others in the van late for their flights because he he couldn't figure out gps. We were using our phones to help him. The driver was surly-he wouldn't answer any questions except to say it will be "fine". Awful. Use anyone else BUT this company. read more
