I never write reviews but this experience verged on traumatizing. Arrived at midnight and called shuttle. Had a reservation already. Was told I would have to wait an hour. I waited and hour and a half with no response. Called them back only to be shuffled from one rude agent to another each not having any information. Was told I would have to wait 2 more hours!!!!! Had a really bad experience with this Shuttle. Made a reservation 2 days before my trip to NYC- with arrival time, flight, everything. Landed at LaGuardia and immediately called shuttle- said they'd be there in 10 minutes. I waited one hour and called them again. They informed me they were "low on drivers" and it would be another half hour. I tried to cancel and they refused so I waited another half hour. Called again and was told it would be another 45 minutes. At this point I lost all confidence with this service and grabbed a Lyft, which arrived in 10 minutes and wasn't that much more expensive. Driver arrived to pick me up at my hotel 15 minutes early for my 2:25 pick up. He called and yelled at me for not being ready on his schedule. When I said I would be downstairs outside at the time my confirmation stated, he said he would leave to go pick up the next passengers and he expected me to meet him at THEIR stop at 2:25. I'm not sure how he expected me to walk to the next block sooner than I would be able to walk downstairs. He did wait for me at their stop (I got in the van at 2:30) and we did arrive at the airport in one piece. SuperShuttle costs about half as much as a cab, and you'll get about half as much service-- meaning almost none at all. Do not tip when you reserve your ride (Unfortunately I did) because my driver absolutely did not deserve one. read more

While the staff was nice and the reservation process was simple, the actual pickup and dropoff was another story. If you decide to go this route, make sure you give yourself at least two hours from pickup at the airport to destination...very frustrating. read more

I used their sevice to JFK and regret the decision I made. The time slot I got was 5:00 - 5:15 AM, so I got out and started waiting at 4:59 AM on Tuesday morning. I got a call at 5:01 saying that my pickup was rescheduled to 5:25 AM, which was OK. It was after 5:25 AM that I got so mad. I got outside and waited and waited and waited, no van showed up and nobody called until 5:40AM. It was cold outside in New York, and my family was waiting with me to say good-bye and we were all soooo freezing outside. So, I called their 800 number and tried to talk to someone to see what was going on. There was the usual automated message saying to press one to check the status and it was supposed to direct me to someone to check the status... except that nobody picked up the phone. I called them like 10 times or so, and finally a lady picked up my call. She checked the status and said the van was on site. Huh??? Nooooooo!!!!!! The van finally arrived at my place after 2 minutes, so he was close by when he got the message, so he decided to respond he was there, which was not right. So, the van picked me up at 5:48 AM when I booked the van for 5:00 AM originally. When I asked the driver why he was so late, his reponse was so rude saying it was not his fault. I understand that it is the system that caused this craziness, but he could explain it in a better manner. A friend of mine booked this shuttle to drive us to JFK from Manhattan and after reading the reviews here, I was seriously afraid. However, the shuttle arrived only ten minutes late (totally understandable with the traffic situation here) and the driver was very considerate and did not even charge us for a piece of oversize luggage (bicycle bag). It seems that the experience with this shuttle can be hit-or-miss. read more

I've taken this company to and from the airport so many times but I have no idea why. This past time I had to wait 30 minutes for my driver to show up. He then filled the van past capacity so not everyone had a seat or seat belt (pretty sure that's illegal) . This is seriously the last time I will use them. I'd feel safer in a cab. read more

My last experience, they were only 30minutes late at JFK and filled up their van so the trip from the airport to downtown took 3 hours. HELLISH SHUTTLE FROM JFK.... The driver was the main reason for our bad experience. He was constantly complaining that our destinations were far apart and he wasn't going to get home until 2 am. He must have complained about it 5-6 times for sure. He kept telling us, "Be prepared. This is going to be a long night. I mean a LONG night!" He complained about the company assigning him to us. He definitely was the opposite of positive customer service. Secondly, he drove so fast and was screeching around corners and gunning the engine and slamming on the brakes for lights. I was on the bench seat edge with nothing to hold onto. I grabbed the seatbelt that was attached to the top of the door and hung on for life. (I have burns on my hands from it) I was being thrown around as he erratically drove to the city. I did not feel safe at all. I have been in taxis all over the world and have had some harrowing rides, but this one takes the cake. He was mad and he was showing it in his driving. It was 11pm and I didn't want to get off in some unknown place or I would have told him to stop and let me off. We followed him on a map and the route he took was questionable. A couple of people slipped him some $$ so they got taken first. One gal changed her destination so we had to turn around and begin again on the route. My daughter and I were #8 on the drop-off route. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get to our hotel. I was so glad to get off. I vowed never to take Super Shuttle again. read more

I have used super shuttle numerous times to go to the airport. Have had one very bad driver experience, rude, and bad driving. Most of the time it's mediocre. Today I has another horrible customer service experience. They were going to be 25min late picking me up, which was cutting it way too close to check my bag at the airport. When I asked to cancel so I could find alternative arrangements they said no because I was canceling too close to the service time! Which mind you was in over 2 hours. They were rude and unappreciative of the additional travel stress they caused. I wish there was a better shuttle service in the city. read more

I have to travel to NYC several times. Supershuttle is almost always first choice if I have a flight from or to Newark airport. Service I experienced were pretty good. On time. Pick up in advance is totally acceptable. So far they were never late for my trip. However if you have to go in between rush hours, travel time will be added and it is so hard to predict. Only one time when I was disappointed. When I picked up my family from JFK. He went back and forward to every terminals until van was full, and sure we were the first. It took an hour for this process. Also driver had no idea about manhattan street. It was not fair for travelers who did not know the exact location of their hotel. Where do I start. Super Shuttle is the single most horrible ground transportation service I have ever used in my life. As someone who typically Yelps everything, I don't know why I did not Yelp this company and I regret it. I booked my reservation and prepaid online about a week before my arrival. I flew a red eye flight and was tired, arrived at 630am. Upon arriving at the airport, I followed the instructions in my email confirmation to go to the ground transportation area and use one of the courtesy phones to call Super Shuttle. I spoke to a woman who took my confirmation number and told me to just wait right in the area where I was and the driver would come in and call my name. Seems easy enough, I hang up with her and notice a guy with a Super Shuttle jacket on and see he is recruiting passengers to fill up his van. I go up to him, tell him I called and have a reservation and ask if I will be going with him. He says "oh, you called, just wait here and someone will come in and call your name". So I stand around and watch him fill up his van with people that obviously did not have reservations and watch him leave. I see another van pull up and think, "okay, this is okay, I'll be getting on this van, just wait for them to call your name". So I watch the driver come in, get Starbucks, chat it up with the ground transportation desk lady, recruit a passenger and then leave. Really? At this point, I'm pretty tired and becoming pretty agitated. I go to call them again and am on hold for about 5 minutes when I see another driver come in. I wave him over and explain I followed the instructions and have been waiting for an HOUR and watched two shuttles leave during that time. He was very understanding and nice and used his radio to contact the dispatch office. I hear the other guy say that I was a no show. Excuse me, what?! I had been waiting in the same place for an hour!! So frustrating. Anyhow, this nice driver guy pleads with the guy on the other end of the radio to get me onto another shuttle. Yes, I said he had to plead to get me the ride I had already paid for. Best the dispatcher could do was get me on a van in 15 minutes. So, I wait calmly even though I am quite upset. The guy arrives and walks in yelling my name frantically, no greeting of any sort. There is another girl that is supposed to come with me and apparently has also been waiting for over an hour. The driver and the ground transportation lady get into it because he says this other girl isn't on his list and he has only room for one more (me). The other girl was clearly upset as we packed up and drove off, understandably so. The driver didn't even try to smooth things over, it wasn't his problem, not like he is in the business of customer service or anything. The van smelled strongly of mildew. By now it's heavy rush hour traffic time, so I get to sit in mildew van for over an hour. From the time I called to arriving at my hotel, it took over THREE HOURS. Filed a complaint with their customer service and requested a refund, was given a case number and promised a return call. Surprise, surprise, no one ever followed up. This was my first visit to NYC and Super Shuttle was a shameful first impression. I can't believe the airport actually promotes people using them. It's too bad they can't clean up their act and be a respectable business. read more

TERRIBLE!!! Left a phone in the van and realized it as it was driving off. Tried to call customer service right away before the van leaving airport. They couldn't reach driver as we were tracking the phone (still showing at another terminal). As we were boarding plane, they said the driver said it wasn't there. Total Liar!!! Supershuttle is THE WORST. It costs more but you're much better off using Uber, a taxi, or some other car service. I had a reservation from Manhattan to JFK airport. The driver never showed up for my pickup time and when I called to check their location, I was told they were 30 minutes behind schedule because the van was still in queens! I checked into my reservation at 12:19am. As I type this I am still waiting at the welcome center of jfk at 1:49am. This is incredibly rediculous that a 15-20 minute window that was given to me upon check in is now almost 2 hours wait at such an hour. I have called 29 on the service phone without any real assistance as I am still waiting. This is incredibly unreliable service, but specifically for those who have business to attend in the morning and who have been given a false waiting window. I've been using SuperShuttle for as long as 18 years. They've always come for me on time and brought me back home with no problem. I have always used the shared van and it's never been a problem for me. You have 4 different time frames to choose from for them to pick you up at your house. Last time I picked the latest time and I got to the airport 3+ hours before the plane departure time. SuperShuttle is awesome and even if you don't want the shared van, you can have him come for you by a car and only carry you(of course I wouldn't do that because it's more expensive). I have a flight to catch in December and I already have the reservation booked for supershuttle from now. read more

We recently visited New York and used Super Shuttle on our return trip to California. Let's just say that I did not regret spend the extra $$ to use their service. They showed up on time and the driver was very courteous and making us feel very safe while driving from Manhattan to La Guardia airport, NY. If you are a group of 4 or more and have lots of luggages, I highly recommended to rent a private (no-sharing) super shuttle ride. The 'share' super shuttle will take about 3 times more to get to your destination (due to all the droppings and pick ups people along the way). Plus there is zero chance of running out of room for your luggages and/or people took your luggage by accident! read more

Availed of their services twice and both drivers just dropped us off across the street. We have to cross a busy street with our large luggage and handcarried bags. It's a "driver's convenience" airport transfer service and not an airport-to-door service. Then the drivers even have the audacity to ask for a tip. read more

Nightmare - and 0 stars -if I can sum it up. I read other reviews and thought only those with negative experiences noted reviews as I remember some positive reviews years ago. And then I experienced it Never again I would book this service. I booked the service using SuperShuttle app. Booking worked perfect. I got reminders to check in very clearly. Nice job with the app. Unfortunately it was the only thing that worked. I arrived at the airport and was asked to wait for 15 to 30 minutes. I waited 45 minutes and then called the shuttle service. they said the driver was on his way. I could see the little car icon and the assigned driver name on the app only a minute away. Then it stopped moving. then I saw the shuttle on the app turned away and the wait time kept increasing and Then the shuttle disappeared from the app completely. I called three times and the customer service representative kept saying that driver was on his way. And they cannot file complaint or help me as they only do bookings or cancellations. They told me to wait. I asked the helpdesk at the airport and the nice lady connected me to another shuttle service. They picked me up in two minutes. I cancelled my booking by calling and now waiting for my refund. Never ever ever again. Worst customer service and experience. Unfortunately there were no seats to wait for the shuttle at the gate. Since it was cold I could not wait outside and take a seat so I waited inside for an hour and was exhausted after a long trip. How are you going to compensate me for my time and distress. read more

More airport travel woes... Despite the other poor reviews, I decided to try SuperShuttle to save a few bucks--bad and stressful idea. Despite the large buffer of time recommended by SuperShuttle, my girlfriend and I barely made our flight, thanks to it being delayed and there being no wait in security. Being the first pickup, starting by Columbus Circle, we worked our way down to the East Village (for what I think is an overall longer route) to pick up people taking about 1:15 hours to just start to get out of Manhattan. The driver was nice and friendly but felt no urgency to get us to the airport while he gathered additional pickups (we even waited while one of the passengers went to Duane Reade for something for 10 minutes). We were thankfully the first drop off where we paid for curbside checkin to speed us into security. Unless you know you are the last stop (I think we logically should've been) and are traveling solo (the small savings, maybe twenty bucks, are not worth almost missing your flight), take a cab or the subway. read more

I don't understand why Supershuttle even asked for our flight number and arrival time, they didn't seem to have anticipated the pick up. We called once we landed at JFK and were told to wait 30 minutes. 45 minutes later we called again and were told to wait just a few minutes more. 15 minutes later, our 20-mos-old son had a melt-down and we took a cab. For the return portion, we were picked up on time. But we were the first of 11 people being picked up and ended up having a very very long van ride. I would never use them again. NEVER. A cab isn't much more money (especially for couples or more), and it's much faster. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had!!! I scheduled the shuttle online two days before I went to New York and got a confirmation letter, my visa card was also charged. I printed the confirmation page and checked in with Super shuttle from the airport. It took 10 MINUTES for somebody to pick up the phone and he told me that the shuttle was going to be there in 25 min. After 30 min, I phoned super shuttle again, and they told me that the shuttle would be there in 10 min. Then after 10 min I got a phone call and they told me that their shuttle was not going to my hotel!!!! They told me that it was a system/online error!!! After I waited almost 1 hr at the airport, they told me they were not going there!! (I booked online two days ago, there was an option to my hotel to choose from. They just said, sorry, it was an error.) Then I called taxi, it arrived in 5 min and the price was fair. read more

I wish i could give them no star for their service. I arranged a car service , and executive suv to pick my family up and drive to the airport. The car was arranged for 4:15am, my family was standing outside on the curb with all their bags for 15 minutes, i called at 4:30 and they said that it would be there in 15 minutes. So at 4:45 i called, transfered, disconnected, finally put some else on the phone who by now is 4:57am and says the following words: " MMMmmm Yea ma'am, mm we have a SITUATION. None of our workers showed up to work today so we wont have anyone to pick you up." AFTER I HAD BEEN WAITING FOR 45 MINUTES?! YOU TELL ME NOW?! THIS IS BY FAR the WORSE COMPANY ive ever seen. SO my family had to take 2 cabs to the airport, and now i had to file a complaint, and wait to weeks to process my claim so maybe i can get my money back, RIDICULOUS, dont take them even if your life depended on it, cause most likely, you would die. read more

It may be a few dollars cheaper than a cab, but its seriously better than being crammed in a van full of people, waiting for the driver to drop everyone off one by one, and then finally getting to your destination after a 2.5 hour trip that should only have taken 1 hour. I had the worst airport experience of my life, thanks to Super Shuttle. I was picked up close to Times Square in NYC and going to Newark. I was picked up early because the driver said there was traffic. There were 3 older people on the shuttle when I got on. We drove all over NYC trying to pick up more people. The driver was aggressive, rude, and erratic. He was cursing people off, cutting people off and very aggravated, we were at the edge of our seats. He drove in reverse for a half block. When he got out to pick up a pass anger, the customer sitting in front said that the driver had yelled at her because she questioned the one way price versus round trip. We were all saying how scared we were. The driver got furious when he got back in the van and said the passenger had left in a cab. Once we got on the freeway he was going 80 - 90 MPH. I had a phone conversation with a family member while on the shuttle, we were discussing politics. The driver left me off at terminal A in Newark and said terrible things about the political candidate I was talking about, and talked to me about his candidate and why he was better, but I was so in shock I decided not to even engage him. Once I got into the terminal, shaking and speechless from the experience, I realized my airline was not there... The driver has purposefully left me at the opposite side of the terminal. I had to take a train from terminal A to terminal C... with all of my bags! I did contact the company and they were very sympathetic. They gave me a refund. However, the driver is a franchisee owner and they were unable to tell me what measures they would take against him. For this reason and because this lunatic is behind the wheel, I will never take Super Shuttle nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

Pros: Clean van, and no car wrecks. Honestly, the driver was good, when driving. Cons: Over hour late for a scheduled pickup at JFK airport. Then sat in airport parking lot with a full van, without explanation, for 15-20 minutes. No customer service response to questions, and then complaints, about lateness. Rude at drop-off, slammed door in face of exiting passenger without apology. It was slower getting back to Manhattan than the AirTran+subway, more expensive, made me very late to work, and with no explanation, sympathy, or refund. I've had much better experience with The Airporter, and good ol' MTA. read more

When I took it from JFK we dropped people off all over the place in mid-upper manhattan and it took well over an hour to get home, with no traffic. Also, we had to first drive to pick people up at various terminals. So overall, it took a long time to get home. The bus to port authority plus a taxi would've been cheaper and faster. I landed in newark airport at 5:00 A.M. We made reservation but they said the shuttle wouldn't pick up until 6:15 A.M. After romping around town dropping everybody off. It's 3 hours we spend after landed to get to the hotel. I'm not happy with the service. It's taking too long. If i would have known this i would find other alternative. read more

I pre-booked a reservation for a flight arriving JFK at 3:20 pm. I waited nearly 30 minutes for a van to pick me up. I realize this service makes multiple stops. However, the driver took me and two others to a loading place with other vans, left the van without saying a word to us and returned about 25 minutes later with another large group of people. Net - it ended up taking over an hour to merely get on a bus and off JFK proper. Never again. read more

I just got off super shuttle to JFK from hotel in Manhattan. I had a very skilled, excellent, and courteous driver who knew how to work the crazy traffic in NYC. I got here in less time than I expected and enjoyed the ride as well! The price is great ($22 one way). I tipped $5 too. I'm so thankful to not have this job for my career! read more

While the people on the phone were friendly I had a horrible experience. I expected the shuttle to come within a 15 minute window. I called and listened to a recording stating that my shuttle was 7 miles away after around 30 minutes. After 45 minutes I called and talked with someone and after making some inquiries he refunded my money stating that they were having problems getting a driver to me. The part that sucked the most was that I was not contacted first! I could have waited long enough to miss my flight and no one would have contacted me at all! read more

Super shuttle was convenient. Was a longer ride but expected with other passengers. The only thing I didn't like was the air vents in the van which were missing and the air was blowing directly from the large holes above me so I was freezing. read more

Waited over 1h 30 min to be picked up at the airport (JFK). First and last time I use this service. It is much better to take the bus to Grand Central (always leaves on time and in a predictable way). Every time I called to find out about the status of the shuttle, they would say "5 to 10 min away", but it was not true. read more
