The first time I used Super Shuttle it was a good experience. My husband had just gotten off a flight and jumped on with no reservations. We live on the UES and were the first people dropped off, so it was a quick trip. I tried it again yesterday and it wasn't so good. Again I didn't have reservations, but the driver said he had room. He said he had a few more people to pick up. The problem was that we circled the airport several times, stopping but not picking up people. It took over an hour to get four more passengers (all at the same pick-up spot). Thank goodness I was first dropped off, a good two hours after I got on the shuttle. I felt bad for everyone else who must have spent at least 2-3 hours trying to get to their destination. My sister-in-law also tried the SS from Laguardia the last time she visited and had a bad experience. She was the last to be dropped off - over three hours after they left the airport. SS seems disorganized. I guess it is worth it if the normal taxi price is going to be $30 or more, but LGA to UES, a taxi may be worth it. read more

One of the most irritating experiences I've ever had. Flying in or out of Newark is big enough of a pain in the a** without this headache. I had a pickup scheduled and paid for. When I called from the airport all the so called "customer service" rep had to say was that there was no shuttles. No explanation, no apology, and obviously no form of contact to let me know I'd be stranded at the airport at 1 in the morning. Best recommendation is to use the $15 bus. It comes every 15 minutes and will drop you off at either PABT, Grand Central, or one other place in Manhattan (can't remember off the top of my head). Final recommendation AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! read more

Super Shuttle Super SUCKS! I hate that my first review ever is a negative one, but this experience was so horrible, I feel like it's my duty to warn you. In an effort to avoid a long, rant-y message, I'll just list all the things that went with their service. 1. My driver left me behind. After arriving in Manhattan, I called from the baggage claim for my 3:00 shuttle. Around 2:50, I use the rest room and when I return, I see the driver going out to the shuttle. I walk up to the window and explain that 1) i booked the shuttle in advance 2) i checked in from the baggage claim, as they asked 3) I was told I was on the 3:00 shuttle. As I'm explaining this, the driver gets in the car and drives away slowly until he couldn't hear me pleading. There were 3 other people in the van - plenty of room. 2. Two other drivers yell at me for not understanding the system, without actually explaining the system. After the 1st driver left, I saw more drivers and asked if they were going to Manhattan. I was told that yes, but they can't take me because "it doesn't work that way." 3. A 4th driver leaves me. At this point, I called the super shuttle dispatch to find out what was happening. She was nice enough to say my ride was free, since everyone kept leaving me behind. A personal driver was called to come pick me up "in 10 minutes." After 20 minutes I had not been picked up, so I called and they said "I'm not sure why the driver left without you." (that was the second time I heard that from them). After TWO HOURS of waiting for the super shuttle, I ended up taking a cab to my hotel. 4. Upon my request, they confirmed that my return trip was cancelled and I was fully refunded, yet they STILL sent a driver to pick me up at my hotel on Sunday and also charged me for BOTH legs of the trip....even though the first half was already "comped" since their drivers kept leaving me behind. I will never NEVER use Super Shuttle again and you shouldn't either!! read more

This is not a good or reliable service for getting to the airport. They are rarely on time and, when they don't come, they inform you that you can't get your money back if you decide to cancel. They give a 4 hour arrival window that they don't inform you about when you purchase the ticket. Buyer beware. read more

I gave SS a few opportunities to get it right. I live on the Upper East Side, so I expect a quick drop-off from Laguardia. The last two times I tried that, the van was routed over the Williamsburg Bridge! Once when leaving Laguardia, people became impatient with the pick up process and started to leave the van to get taxis instead. So, the driver took more time driving around the airport scrounging for passengers, which made even more people want to quit. So the process became a downward cycle of awful customer service. And the driver has to step out of the van and visit a desk inside each terminal where he has a pick up, taking up more time. Every ride I've taken has involved a driver illegally using a hand-held phone. The Super Shuttle service in New York needs a complete re-organization. They'll even have to tolerate an empty seat or two on an airport run. read more

Do yourself a favor, never use this SuperShit again. The van # is 683 Driver is an Indian. So if you happen you be in luck, please run away as fast as you can. Route: My hotel to LGA. It says the pick-up time is 7:30-7:45am on my reservation. I went out at 7:30 sharp. The van driver started yelling at me once I got in. I said I had a fever and I was sorry for being late, which I wasn't. He couldn't stop and told me I should be there by 7am. I said that's not the time on my reservation. Then I showed him my reservation and argued with him because he was so rude. Then he literally told me to SHUT UP. I asked his name and he refused to tell me and he started calling his supervisor (I assume) and lied to him that I was making trouble. I noticed that there was a cam in the car so dear manager/supervisor/whoever should probably take a look at how he pointed his finger at me and told me to shut up. read more

I have a complicated relationship with Super Shuttle. My last trip, though, showed me a different side. Say what you will about the experience in the van (I sure have), but their administrative/office support was a pleasant and very unexpected surprise. If you happen to lose something in a van, it's absolutely worth giving their customer support a shot. As always, it took us forever to circle JFK long enough to fill the shuttle. Yes, we crawled through commute traffic for hours (literally, 2.5 hours) to get to the West Village. Of course, I was the last person to be dropped off out of the full van. And, icing on the cake, in my jet-lagged stupor I left my treasured hand-me-down Ray Bans in the back seat! When sprinting down the street after my blue van didn't work, I called the office in Astoria just so I could feel like I tried to retrieve my beloved glasses. Much to my surprise, I reached a person who was not only able to figure out what van I'd been in (I had no receipt, just an approximate time and pickup/destination), but also call my driver directly, and relay my message. The driver called me back and assured me he had my glasses and would drop them off in their Queens office if he finished his shift without any more downtown pickups/drop-offs. One followup call to the office later, and I had a Lost and Found claim with my address in San Francisco attached. Two followup calls later and I was speaking to an actual human who had both my sunglasses and my Lost and Found claim. Five days after I left my sunglasses in a van in Manhattan, they were on my doorstep in San Francisco. Insane routes and ridiculous wait times aside, Super Shuttle really surprised me with their efficient Lost and Found procedures and their willingness to aid me in my crazy determination to get my glasses back. Do Not Use This Company!!!! We booked super shuttle for a round trip JFK airport run. The pick up was fine, driver was not friendly at all, but on time. We experienced a delay on our return trip, so I promptly informed super shuttle (Jennifer) of our new arrival time. When I arrived at JFK for my return trip and checked in; now at 12:30 am, we were told that it would be a 90 minute wait as the driver had to come from Long Island. The contract plainly states that "our vans wait in nearby "holding lots" and once you have checked in with us a van will be sent for you." I informed them that 90 minutes was not acceptable, and was shuffled off to a dispatcher, (Jason) who said he never got the corrected change information (which should mean they would have been there even sooner ...right??), and then he went on to say that he could not even guarantee me 90 minutes as it would more likely be 2-3 hours!! Then he told me that we "of course we would not pay for the return trip". I was then transferred back to the main switchboard and spoke with Karina. I gave her my cell phone number, and requested she call me when the van was on the way. I have still not gotten a phone call nor has my refund been processed! I will tell everyone I know .......DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ended up using the Train to the Plane....! That is the way to go. read more

Company is highly unprofessional. Canceled my shuttle 15 minutes before my departure time during Christmas holiday. I was left without ride. When I called to complain I was hung up on 3 times and transferred over and over again until finally I asked to speak directly to supervisor right away. Supervisor explained that they would pay for my entire taxi to airport. I even have email confirmation that the supervisor stated this. They are not refusing to refund the money. They have not responded to phone calls and several emails directly from myself to supervisor. Horrible company, highly unprofessional, surprised how they are still in business after reading reviews and my experience. Furthermore, my husband booked with them before my experience with them, they were 2 hours late for his pickup. Do not use this company. There are other companies offering shuttles which offer better service. read more

My recent experience was horrible, granted I had a 1 am arrival, but I called the phone immediately and told them I was ready and the dispatcher said 30 minutes. I saw a Super Shuttle can come by around 20 minutes so I went outside and the driver said he didn't have a pick up yet so I thought it was weird since no one else was waiting. Finally nearly 45 minutes later I swear the same guy showed up again with a full van so I sat up front. The only redeeming thing was the driver got us to the Theater District in about 20 minutes and I was the first one dropped off. My trip back never happened. They called me 20 min before my hotel pick up to tell me that they didn't have a van for me because it broke down and there was so much traffic due to the St Patricks Day Parade. You'd think Super Shuttle would PLAN for that, no!?!?! So they said I had to find another way to the airport. Literally writing this review while in the van from LGA to Manhattan. Reserved pick up time 3:30PM on a Sunday. Actual pick up time 4:40 . No transparency into where the van relative to picking you up. Called customer service in the arrival terminal 5 times. Each time I was told 5-10 minutes. Then they tell me I am in the wrong place. How am I in the wrong place? Your supposed to pick me up at the terminal for the flight I put arriving on. Then the driver tries to make small talk with me about why I got picked up so late from the driver seat through the passenger window and I'm like just let me in the stupid van. Don't take this from the airport to manhattan period. read more

NEVER AGAIN. Booked the Super Shuttle to get to the Newark Airport from Manhattan. My pick up window was at 5 AM to get to a 8 AM flight. The shuttle did not arrive, and I called the service around 5:17. The customer service representative told me that the car was three miles away and would be arriving soon. I thanked her and waited another 20 minutes. I called again and this time they told me that the car had arrived and had left because I wasn't ready (What?! I had been staring outside my window since 4:45 AM). I asked the second representative a few questions: 1. If the driver had indeed arrived, why didn't he attempt to notify me? A: "Super Shuttle isn't required to make contact." (Also, this is crazy because in modern times a simple service like UBER contacts their customers) 2. If I had indeed "missed" the shuttle, why did the first representative fail to mention that and tell me to wait for the shuttle? A: NO RESPONSE. At this point, it was 6 AM I had to take a taxi to get to the airport as to avoid missing my flight as the driver would not come to pick me up. When I called customer service, they forwarded my case to a case manager and I was notified today that GPS coordinates matched my reservation. Really? Then where was the shuttle? Why didn't I see the vehicle?! At 5 AM there's not a lot of traffic where I live. And if they can track the car by GPS don't you think they should be able to NOTIFY customers when they have arrived? In case they're not in the correct location. I have taken the Super Shuttle many times and have never experienced an issue like this one before, but the rudeness of the customer service is really what put me off. They won't apologize or acknowledge that they might have made a mistake. I hope charging me $35 dollars for a service not rendered was worth it Super Shuttle, because you've lost a customer for life. SuperShuttle is an absolutely abominable service that should be shutdown. After making a reservation for a 12:30am pickup at JFK on the phone (as their online booking system did not work) we received no text or email confirmation as promised. When we landed and tried to call again we were put on hold for half an hour. When a representative did eventually picked up the phone we were told that that last van had left JFK and that we would have to wait an hour for the next van. The representative was rude on the phone and refused to refund our reservation. Never again. read more

They deserve ZERO stars. They do not run 24/7 even with a reservation in New York City. My wife & I landed at JFK on a flight from SFO at 2am. Did the "new" self-check-in via my cell phone and waited 25 minutes. I never received an assigned vehicle or any other communication from Super Shuttle. Having been in this situation before, I called and was informed they are short drivers and a driver would not be available until 5am- 3 hours later. "Short drivers" has to be a lie- I think they meant there were no drivers but just do not want to tell you that. A driver could get to JFK from New Jersey before 5am if there was truly a driver driving. Uber does not have a problem with drivers available at this time. Super Shuttle in New York also just raised their shared ride fee from $17 to $23- $6 is a 30% fair increase!!! I saw this when I booked and thought maybe the company made some changes to provide better customer service- nope. A 30% increase to leave you stranded at the airport still. Then when you call and speak to a customer service rep, they file a "formal complaint". I have done this before and nothing comes of it. I have left reviews on Yelp, completed their online surveys via email after rides... The company does not care. They will continue to provide zero service and lie to their customers. There is NO service past 12am. If they believed they were even capable of living up to what they advertise (a 24 hour ride service), they would offer you a credit for your next ride in addition to refunding the original fare paid due to their inability to complete your reservation... Nope- they just offer to refund what you paid. Thanks for giving me my money back because you never provided the ride that I paid for. They should not even have pick up or drop off options on their website b/t 12am-5am. After the fair increase, NYC Airporter is cheaper to Manhattan and UberPool or UberX or a taxi is not much more if there is more than 1 person riding & worth it to avoid the headache. read more

This review is for a shared van from JFK airport to a residence in the Upper East Side. This is the second time I used them. Both times, it has taken me close to 3 hours, starting from calling the service, to get home. It must be SuperShuttle policy not to leave the airport until the van is full -- this time our driver spent more than 90 minutes circling the airport picking up customers. Just spend the money and use a yellow cab -- they'll get you home in 1/3 the time for a little more than 2x price. read more

Had a reservation to go to the airport 4am. Come 2am (!) I got a call (shockingly enough, I was sleeping) saying they have no one to send over and that they're canceling my reservation. At 2am it was too late to find a different service so I ended up using uber for twice as much money. Apart from that, they have messed up every single reservation in the last few times I used them. I am currently stuck in one of their cars after a red eye and before a work day and have been waiting here for an hour and a half (we are still at the airport somehow). This is definitely the last time I am using super shuttle. This service is simply completely disrespectful of their customers' time. read more

We booked transportation with another provider, waited for 30 min, then the driver shows up and takes us to the van and refuses to even look at the voucher. 30 more minutes after when passengers from all other terminals were picked up - the driver starts going through the list of passengers and ... Turns out we were not even his passengers! He turned around and drove back to the airport to drop us off. Very unprofessional - drivers need to confirm the vouchers to make sure they pick up the right passengers! read more

We eventually got to our location but we had to wait over an hour between the time that we called for the pre-reserved shuttle and when it left the airport. What made things so terrible to generate a poor rating is the Super Shuttle app that repeatedly states that the driver would be there in 5-10 minutes but kept updating with new 5-10 minutes every 15 minutes or so, so we thought the shuttle was coming and waited but it took well over an hour. So the app is loaded with false info to keep you from finding another transportation. Plus, the riders were not going to same area so we first delivered someone to the Bronx so that added an unexpected 30+ minutes to the ride. So it took over two hours to get to our Manhattan unit. read more

I booked a ride for my mother from the Port Authority bus terminal in NYC to JFK airport. The night before, I called like 5 times trying to figure out where in the terminal they would be picking her up from, only to be mistreated and hung up on because I didn't know the address of where I was going to be picked up from and the rep "wasn't local" (the reason why I called in the first place). The following day I realized that the reservation confirmation said she'd be picked up from Port Authority but the confirmation email said Grand Central. I called several times, was transferred and given different numbers to call, and hung up on again, only to find out they had hired another company to take the ride, but that company no longer offers the Port Authority-JFK trip. She ended up waiting 1 hour to be picked up and had to take a taxi instead, costing her like 3x what we had already paid for the shuttle service. I did receive an email from a customer rep offering me a refund, but wouldn't recommend this company to anyone as I ended up spending like 2 hours on the phone with them and can confirm that their phone representatives are very rude and unprofessional and will not care at all if they're leaving you stranded and you might lose your international flight or not. read more

SUPER LATE!!!! I scheduled a SuperShuttle and it's pick up time frame was between 7:25 to 7:40. It is now 8:05 so 25 minutes late and still is not at my location. I would give it less stars if I could. And by the way it's not because of traffic because the driver didn't start driving to the other pick ups until 7:15 and he was on the exact opposite side of the island (their pickup was in the 20s and he was in the 90s). read more

I've had no problems taking super shuttle to airports. But home, that's a different story. I checked in online and received a text message saying my shuttle would arrive within 15-20 mins. 40 mins later and no update or assigned van, I decided to call customer service. 17 min wait later I am transferred to the dispatcher who tells me my van "broke down" and it would be another hour until another van could come. I then asked for a refund which prompted a transfer back to the main number and another 10 min hold. After a handful more holding I was finally refunded. Needless to say all this was definitely not worth the 6$ I would have saved using super shuttle instead of uber pool. read more

After using this service satisfactorily for years will no longer use. We prebooked and paid online as we usually do. Pickup at our home went well, although vehicle was not clean inside and did not seem well maintained. Upon return at our prescheduled time, waited at JFK for an hour, no Shuttle, called them , put on hold several times, more than 15 minutes. Although we had reservation number were finally told no car available for at least another hour and that we should find another means of transportation and our money was refunded. Fortunately the yellow cab driver was a nice, competent driver and we were happy to give him the fare, expensive ,as the ride was to Suffolk County. read more

Let me start with....waiting time at JFK lounge was bit longer than expected but it was nice once i was picked up by SS. i found driver was very nice provding all the information that i asked him. There is no doubt that i will recommand to all friends and colleagues who plan to travel to US. i will also recommand to first time travel to take care of them against very little money compareing to taxis.
