NEVER AGAIN. Booked the Super Shuttle to get to the Newark Airport from Manhattan. My pick up window was at 5 AM to get to a 8 AM flight. The shuttle did not arrive, and I called the service around 5:17. The customer service representative told me that the car was three miles away and would be arriving soon. I thanked her and waited another 20 minutes. I called again and this time they told me that the car had arrived and had left because I wasn't ready (What?! I had been staring outside my window since 4:45 AM). I asked the second representative a few questions: 1. If the driver had indeed arrived, why didn't he attempt to notify me? A: "Super Shuttle isn't required to make contact." (Also, this is crazy because in modern times a simple service like UBER contacts their customers) 2. If I had indeed "missed" the shuttle, why did the first representative fail to mention that and tell me to wait for the shuttle? A: NO RESPONSE. At this point, it was 6 AM I had to take a taxi to get to the airport as to avoid missing my flight as the driver would not come to pick me up. When I called customer service, they forwarded my case to a case manager and I was notified today that GPS coordinates matched my reservation. Really? Then where was the shuttle? Why didn't I see the vehicle?! At 5 AM there's not a lot of traffic where I live. And if they can track the car by GPS don't you think they should be able to NOTIFY customers when they have arrived? In case they're not in the correct location. I have taken the Super Shuttle many times and have never experienced an issue like this one before, but the rudeness of the customer service is really what put me off. They won't apologize or acknowledge that they might have made a mistake. I hope charging me $35 dollars for a service not rendered was worth it Super Shuttle, because you've lost a customer for life. SuperShuttle is an absolutely abominable service that should be shutdown. After making a reservation for a 12:30am pickup at JFK on the phone (as their online booking system did not work) we received no text or email confirmation as promised. When we landed and tried to call again we were put on hold for half an hour. When a representative did eventually picked up the phone we were told that that last van had left JFK and that we would have to wait an hour for the next van. The representative was rude on the phone and refused to refund our reservation. Never again. read more

"The worst shuttle experience of my life!!!" from the moment the driver picked my sister and myself up from AROUND the corner of the hotel till the moment I got on the plane at JFK." The reason for the until I got on the plane is due to the fact that the customer service agent was almost as off point with their job as the driver. I have never been spoken to or yelled at by anyone the way the driver yelled at me and my sister in a van of people, because he was in a MOOD!!! and we made a mistake on the gates and didn't answer him fast enough, so throwing his phone or whatever it was across his passenger seat fixed the problem. I have no respect for the customer service agent or the company as a whole, due to the fact I was missing my plane because of all the issues and the LONG call with the agent and said I had to go. They had all my information and how I was treated ... feeling in a hostile environment with an off balanced driver.... Good luck to you when taking the shuttle make sure not to make a mistake about anything in the vehicle or ask a dang question. My drivers main excuse was that ... "you people do not make concessions for the language barrier here, and you need to do that..." They deserve ZERO stars. They do not run 24/7 even with a reservation in New York City. My wife & I landed at JFK on a flight from SFO at 2am. Did the "new" self-check-in via my cell phone and waited 25 minutes. I never received an assigned vehicle or any other communication from Super Shuttle. Having been in this situation before, I called and was informed they are short drivers and a driver would not be available until 5am- 3 hours later. "Short drivers" has to be a lie- I think they meant there were no drivers but just do not want to tell you that. A driver could get to JFK from New Jersey before 5am if there was truly a driver driving. Uber does not have a problem with drivers available at this time. Super Shuttle in New York also just raised their shared ride fee from $17 to $23- $6 is a 30% fair increase!!! I saw this when I booked and thought maybe the company made some changes to provide better customer service- nope. A 30% increase to leave you stranded at the airport still. Then when you call and speak to a customer service rep, they file a "formal complaint". I have done this before and nothing comes of it. I have left reviews on Yelp, completed their online surveys via email after rides... The company does not care. They will continue to provide zero service and lie to their customers. There is NO service past 12am. If they believed they were even capable of living up to what they advertise (a 24 hour ride service), they would offer you a credit for your next ride in addition to refunding the original fare paid due to their inability to complete your reservation... Nope- they just offer to refund what you paid. Thanks for giving me my money back because you never provided the ride that I paid for. They should not even have pick up or drop off options on their website b/t 12am-5am. After the fair increase, NYC Airporter is cheaper to Manhattan and UberPool or UberX or a taxi is not much more if there is more than 1 person riding & worth it to avoid the headache. read more

This review is for a shared van from JFK airport to a residence in the Upper East Side. This is the second time I used them. Both times, it has taken me close to 3 hours, starting from calling the service, to get home. It must be SuperShuttle policy not to leave the airport until the van is full -- this time our driver spent more than 90 minutes circling the airport picking up customers. Just spend the money and use a yellow cab -- they'll get you home in 1/3 the time for a little more than 2x price. read more

Had a reservation to go to the airport 4am. Come 2am (!) I got a call (shockingly enough, I was sleeping) saying they have no one to send over and that they're canceling my reservation. At 2am it was too late to find a different service so I ended up using uber for twice as much money. Apart from that, they have messed up every single reservation in the last few times I used them. I am currently stuck in one of their cars after a red eye and before a work day and have been waiting here for an hour and a half (we are still at the airport somehow). This is definitely the last time I am using super shuttle. This service is simply completely disrespectful of their customers' time. read more

We booked transportation with another provider, waited for 30 min, then the driver shows up and takes us to the van and refuses to even look at the voucher. 30 more minutes after when passengers from all other terminals were picked up - the driver starts going through the list of passengers and ... Turns out we were not even his passengers! He turned around and drove back to the airport to drop us off. Very unprofessional - drivers need to confirm the vouchers to make sure they pick up the right passengers! read more

We booked super shuttle from Manhattan to LGA for 8:30AM ( recommended time for them to pick up based on the flight info they requested!) They give me a 15 minute window - based on traffic. I was at the door at 8:20, and waited until 9:00AM - NO SHUTTLE! After calling and waiting endlessly, the customer service rep said the shuttle was on the way! They did not come until 9:20AM ! I waited an entire hour - very frustrating and upsetting! This is the second time Super Shuttle has been so unprofessional! As students, we depend on shuttles for our transportation to airports especially. I will not recommend Super Shuttle to anyone on my campus. They are very unreliable! I took the shuttle from my apartment on the Upper East Side to JFK. I recommend downloading the app, it is super helpful both in booking the trip and in tracking the location of the shuttle, and how much time I had before I needed to take my luggage downstairs. The driver was helpful, on time, safe, and got me to my destination 2 hours before my stated flight time. I entered my flight time as being an hour earlier than it actually was, just in case there was a mishap with the driver being late, traffic, or a lot of pickups. I happened to be the last pickup, so I'm not sure how long the ride takes if you're the first one. I would definitely recommend this service if you are on a budget and needing to get to the airport. It cost me $25 including tip, which is significantly less than a taxi or car service. read more

I am never taking super shuttle again. Not only did I wait 30min past my pick-up time with no contact from the driver, but I was switched vans 3 times, and eventually after waiting an hour the company cancelled my ride completely and texted me to "take a taxi". This all happening after I made a point to call SuperShuttle and confirm that there were no problems and my ride was on the way to pick me up. When I called to confirm that SuperShuttle was going to reimburse me for said taxi, they told me that they would only return the money I spent on the shuttle that never showed, and that the taxi is my own responsibility. The representative went as far as to blame other passengers as the reason why my ride was cancelled, because they "took to long to be ready", and did not assume any responsibility for the fact that their own scheduling and dispatching mistakes led to cancelling my ride. I purchased a service that was now making it impossible for me to get to my flight on time for the price I paid for. I was forced to call a $60 car to the airport, and that was my cheapest choice! Incredibly unprofessional, went as far as to blame me for booking a flight so close to the holidays. If you allow a customer to book a service, and pay for it, you either complete the service through any means necessary, or reimburse the client for said service and any inconvenient costs accrued. I will be demanding to be refunded for the car they left me no choice but to take. read more

After waiting for more than an hour at the JFK welcome center, I finally gave up and just took the airtrain and subway. When I tried calling later, it was impossible to get a refund. Booked an executive car for 3:15pm. Landed at LAX at 2:45, sat on hold until 3:45 trying to reach someone to let them know I was waiting for my car. Eventually I gave up and canceled the trip and took a taxi, adding an additional 30 minutes of rush hour commute and cost to my trip by being stupid enough to wait for super shuttle to answer the phone in the first place. My husband travelled to EWR for business this past week and this was his experience: I had to wait over an hour at the airport before I was picked up. The pickup time just kept incrementing by 1 minute every minute without providing any real idea of when the vehicle was actually going to show up. The pickup vehicle was abruptly changed 40 minutes after initial notification, without any explanation. Not helpful at all. Driver dropped me off, with my luggage, on the road at hotel driveway entry instead of taking me to the hotel lobby entrance. Gave flimsy excuse that vehicle was too tall to make it to the hotel lobby entrance! This was by far my worst experience with SuperShuttle. On top of it all, the price was about 5 dollars cheaper than regular cab and about 15 dollars more than Uber. Definitely not worth it. I will not be using SuperShuttle again. I will tell anyone planning to use SuperShuttle to use regular cab or Uber or Lyft. read more

I booked SuperShuttle for my return trip from Cancun. My flight was delayed due to the weather conditions in NYC'S LGA airport. Instead of arriving at 11:11 pm I arrived at 12:30 am. I immediately called SuperShuttle. I was told that it would take my van 90 minutes or more before they arrive. I didn't complain I waited 2 hours before I called back. When I spoke to someone the 2nd time I was told that no one would pick me up until 5 am. I cancelled SuperShuttle's service and had to call Lyft. They (Lyft) arrived in 5 minutes. I will never ever use SuperShuttle again. I paid more for my ride with Lyft, but at least they will come at any hour and they are very reliable. Don't use if you land late at night. Booked the shuttle on their website, with flight information for JFK (landing at 12:55am), and plane was on time. However when calling to find the shuttle it turns out they don't have any at the airport (excuse is they are all in the city), and it will take 90 minutes, which is interesting as it only took 30 minutes for the Taxi to get to downtown Manhattan, that I took instead. Venting to the taxi driver about, he said they do that all the time. When waking up in the morning, Supershuttle had called at 3am... So avoid at night, not worth it. read more

Hands down the worst ride share experience I've ever had. This review is long, but please take a minute to read it if you're planning on taking Supershuttle. After my experience, I'd honestly prefer walking to the airport over this - it'd be quicker and considerably less frustrating. A few months ago, I prepaid and booked a Supershuttle for 1PM from lower Manhattan - I had an international flight leaving JFK at 5PM that evening. At around noon (I was busy running a few last minute errands and wasn't even home yet), I get a call from the Supershuttle driver saying that he was already at my apartment! What the heck, right? I told him that I entered my flight time and the site said that he wasn't supposed to arrive until 1. Double checked and triple checked the confirmation email - yep, 1 it was. That's fine, he said. I'll just wait for you to get home! What? An hour long wait? I agreed to it, but was slightly confused. On the app, there's a tracker that allows you to see the driver's location; he was indeed in front of my apartment waiting for me. I finished up my errands, grabbed my luggage, and left my apartment at 12:45. No driver to be seen. I called once, called twice, called three times. Nobody picked up, and still no driver in sight. Waited until 1, then 1:15. I go on the app and suddenly it says my ride is completed! What the heck? Did the driver just lie and say that he picked me up without doing so? What kind of a mess is this company even? I kept calling - was anybody going to pick me up? Nope, no response. Ended up taking a $65 Uber to the airport to make my flight. Okay, whatever. Emailed customer service, they refunded me and apologized. I had booked a Supershuttle after my return flight too, so here's their chance to redeem themselves. How it works is that after you pick up luggage and go through immigration and customs, you select "ready" on the app and meet in a pre-designated room for airport shuttles (near the entrance of JFK). I purposely marked ready before I'd even gotten my luggage, since I knew it would take longer than expected. Yep. A full hour of sitting in the waiting room and finally the driver arrives. We pull our luggage outside and to his van. He lifts my suitcase up and puts it in his back trunk, and the insults just start FLYING. He groans and rolls his eyes at me. Your bag is SO heavy, I can't believe I have to carry this! My under 50 lb suitcase is heavy? And you work for an airport ride share company? I'm sorry? After finally getting my "heavy" suitcase into his back trunk (with my help, too), we all piled into the van. Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, 4, 5, and 6. Supershuttle picks up people from all different terminals - something I knew going into the trip, but also an hour long endeavor. Finally, after the van was packed and morale was low, we were ready to leave Queens! How exciting! The driver took the Queens Midtown Tunnel to Manhattan, driving all the way down 2nd Avenue and weaving in and out of 1st to drop people off. I live on 18th and 1st - right in the area - and I asked if he could just drop me off since we were ONE BLOCK AWAY. He completely ignored my request. Two HOURS later of horrific Manhattan traffic and dropping every single person in the van off before me, he turns around and rolls his eyes at me AGAIN. You're still here? Ummm, where would I have gone, sir? He muttered to himself about the long day he's had, grumbling all the way up as he drove towards Stuytown again (you could have dropped me off two hours ago). Once we were finally there, he refused to park near my apartment (even though I live on a loop and it would have only required him inching his van upwards half a block). Still complaining, he got out to "help" me with my luggage. Just kidding, no help at all! He looked at his trunk, remembered that I was the girl with the "heavy" suitcase, and shook his head and refused to lift it. Over it. I grabbed my own bags and went home. My flight landed at 5:30PM and I didn't get to my apartment until 11:15PM. How in the world is any of this okay? Also - for $30? A 6 hour trip from the airport? I could fly halfway across the globe in that time! So not worth it. I'm still so stunned that my experience was as horrible as it was. I hope that Supershuttle gets some better management (or at least drivers with a good attitude). Until then, I'll be taking my $65 Ubers or walking to the airport. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

As you can see from the other reviews here, the chance that you miss your flight and potentially lose hundreds and even thousands of dollars and a lot of time is not worth the little bit of money you save on this service. I used their counter at Javits Center to schedule a ride to Newark Airport and was told the ride would come in about an hour. I waited for an hour and 20 minutes in the SuperShuttle waiting area, got a text message that the ride was there, walked outside and looked and looked, went back inside to ask where the shuttle was (6 minutes after walking outside), and the dispatcher called and was told that the shuttle left. Alfred at the counter tried to help and told his own dispatcher that this was ridiculous, that I was sitting there the whole time and that they should have come in or contacted him, but they refused to do anything. Another guy was also standing there and in the same situation. They tried to get me to take a 4:30 shuttle, which was an hour before my plane was scheduled to depart, so that wouldn't work. We argued with the SuperShuttle service saying they had to do something to get us to the airport but they refused and just waited us out, knowing we would have to eventually run to catch our flights, which is what happened -- we finally had to run outside and flag a taxi down. I spent $90 to get to the airport, wasted an hour and half waiting around at Javits for no reason, and I still have not received the refund that I was promised and that the dispatcher signed for on my receipt. Instead of answering all of the complaints online to appear like they care about customer service, they should just prioritize customer service to begin with. read more

First 45 minutes circling airport and we were sent back to pick up one more person after we were on the highway. I will NEVER use this service again. It was a NIGHTMARE taking it from the airport to our hotel. Before even boarding the driver was yelling at me about not having a voucher. I explained the printouts I had were from the travel agency. The print out had the voucher # on it, I had to figure that out on my own- the driver just kept yelling about it not being a voucher. After the 15 minute confrontation and miscommunication we boarded, the driver had the radio blaring and then it went to static and he just left this horrid static on high. Honking and yelling at people on the road, I was so tired from flying all day, 10 minutes in this shuttle and I had a massive headache. 1 hour later, we had driven in a complete circle back to where we started to pick up 1 more passenger. Total it took 2 1/2 hours to travel what should have taken 30 minutes tops. Never again-NYC Airporter is the best!!! read more

I have used super shuttle for decades and have used them all over the country. Sometimes I have the most fabulous of rides, other times they are average but due to the price, I'm always happy. I have even chosen them over other shared rides at the airport even if the wait is longer. however today was a disappointment. At the last minute, noon, my daughter had to travel for work and we ran to book the shuttle online. we were given a departure time of 3:20 to 3:35. I called back to add to the directions (ie the cross street). at 1:46 I got a text that the times were dramatically changed - 55 minutes earlier. My daughter was out buying items for her trip. I called immediately to find out hat was happening. The female customer service rep told me that this was the only time available. Ok, fair enough. But then she went on to tell me that I was supposed to book this 24 hours earlier. My response was: why did the company take the reservation and frankly where is this written or indicated on their website. Clearly it is not. she didn't have an answer. So now I have to cancel it and she said she would. I asked for an email cancelling and was told that the cancellation number is the same as the confirmation number. I said I wanted an email anyway. I was put on hold for nearly 15 minutes and suddenly a recording came on telling me to go to the website to REQUEST A REFUND. This is terrible customer service. why would I have to request a refund, why wouldn't it be automatic. And then I have to wait 7 to 10 business days for my refund. We eventually got to our location but we had to wait over an hour between the time that we called for the pre-reserved shuttle and when it left the airport. What made things so terrible to generate a poor rating is the Super Shuttle app that repeatedly states that the driver would be there in 5-10 minutes but kept updating with new 5-10 minutes every 15 minutes or so, so we thought the shuttle was coming and waited but it took well over an hour. So the app is loaded with false info to keep you from finding another transportation. Plus, the riders were not going to same area so we first delivered someone to the Bronx so that added an unexpected 30+ minutes to the ride. So it took over two hours to get to our Manhattan unit. read more

I've never encountered such a horrific experience! I politely asked the driver where he was going next, and his response took me by surprise (as well as the other passengers) as he was extremely rude. He questioned why I was asking as he didn't seem to understand why I was asking in the first place. When he confirmed that I was to be dropped off next, he continued to be extremely rude and even racist, telling me to speak English better (even though I was born here and have an American accent!). At this point I was angry and upset, and once I was dropped off, he didn't help me get my bag from the back of the van, which was amongst many heavy boxes and bags. When I turned around to walk to my residence, he grabbed my heavy bag in a harsh way, and began yelling at me, telling me that I need to pay. I kept telling him that I did pay and even waited for him to get a pen and paper to write down my confirmation number. And of course it was confirmed that I did pay. I feel uneasy that he has access to my details including my address. The way he looked at me after he abruptly grabbed my bag I've never felt so threatened in my life. Awful, just awful. The shuttle was 2+ hours late in both directions. The people on the phone kept saying "the driver is 5 minutes away." Two hours later he shows up and takes quite possibly the longest route possible to get to JFK. Both drivers had a cruddy attitude and threw luggage around like trash. The poor Dutch students in our van almost missed their international flight because of Super Shuttle. Just take a cab! Its easier and worth the money. If you're brave enough to take super shuttle, be sure to factor in at least a 3 hour cushion. read more

Arrival to LaGuardia and trip to Hotel: HOT. It was 80 degrees plus and the shuttle had little-to-no air. They do pack you in like sardines in a can so beware of that. The shuttles are very uncomfortable. Other individuals riding with us had to deal with payment issues. The representative at the desk quoted them one price ($18) and the driver argued with them to pay differently ($27). Also overheard a woman on the shuttle who had super shuttle reservation issues...as in she wanted to change her time, was told she could not, so she decided to keep her previous time. Instead the Super Shuttle people cancelled it. So when she arrived to the air port she had to wait for hours to get a spot on a shuttle. Leaving - Hotel to LaGuardia: Our flight was at noon and we were told we had to be picked up at 7:30am because apparently the super shuttle people thought it would take three hours at that time to get from the Times Square area out to the airport (it only took a half-hour...including picking up other riders). Also we got out to the shuttle early and the driver told us our pickup time was 7:20 (?). Good thing we got out there at 7:19 I guess. Bottom Line: Rude drivers, and desk reps that don't do their job. The drivers and reps can't keep their prices straight. Pickup times are set for you with no thought to the customer. My advice is to try a different shuttle service or just pony-up the money for a taxi....as our concierge suggested for our trip back to the airport. read more

But I get a call at 340 pm. I was all ready and as soon as I step downstairs it was right outside my bldg. I was left behind after making a reservation online days before. I was told that "there were none in the area and it would take at least an additional hour and a half to get to me" after already waiting a half hour. I managed to flag down an Airlink Shuttle at my terminal and as we past by another terminal, I saw 2 SuperShuttles there waiting empty. The Airlinke Shuttle driver said that they make shady cash side deals and will blow off the pre-paid because the company has to pay for the refunds, the ones that follow through enough on it and it doesn't effect the money they pocket. Take Airlink Shuttle, cheaper and far more accommodating. read more

Just don't do it. Don't even think about taking Supershuttle. If you're still reading this, I hope you're not still considering. Don't do it!!! Earlier this year, SuperShuttle didn't show up to get me at EWR at midnight (after confirming on the phone that a van was on the way). This was for Laguardia (SP) to Manhatten. It was so frustrating I think my bloodpressure soared to heart attack stage. Long and short we waited almost 2 hours for the pick up. Shuttles kept going by but never for Manhatten. I had to call 4 (maybe 5 times) to get a confirmation they were EVER coming. To make it worse they kept telling me...just another 15 minutes then I call back and they said. Didn't someone tell you it ws going to be an hour? well I DO NOT recommend them FROM the airport. From the hotel they were on time so only use them that way...if you dare. Never again. read more
