I've generally been a fan of super shuttle as I've used it many times in other cities (mainly Baltimore and DC), but I will never use SS out of Laguardia ever again. Don't be afraid to take the super shuttle. It's a fine way to get to Manhattan. Sure it takes a while for them to pick you up and the traffic situation in the city is pretty intense, but the van is comfortable, the driver was pleasant, and for $25 it's a simple and sure fire way to get delivered to your door. The worst service ever... I used super shuttle in SF and had a great experience that's why I booked again when I was traveling in NYC. At JFK I had to wait 60 mins+ to pick me up and then the van was so full and overloaded that everybody was complaining...Long story short, I landed in JFK at 7:30 pm, I ended up at my hotel at 11:00 pm...just terribly inconvenient. So, on the way back to JFK, I was waiting for 25 mins no van showed up and I kept receiving automated calls that the van is waiting for me. I had to take a cab not to miss my flight. I called and complained and I am still waiting to hear about my refund from the super shuttle customer service. In other words, NEVER use super shuttle in NYC.... read more

Shortened version, my experience is too long to include. This is a portion of my letter of compliant. This was my first and last time using SuperShuttle. This is the worst customer service that I've ever had in my life. Not only were the SuperShuttle representatives rude and unempathetic over the phone, but also the driver was very unprofessional and malicious. He should have never had the verbal exchange with me in front of customers. He should have never went back and forth with the about paying for service that are already paid for. His tone was aggressive with his attitude was rude and his body language was compulsive and I did not feel safe in the SuperShuttle van. Terrible experience.. Driver had 3 separate dropoffs. After the first drop off.. The driver had to stop and gas up the van and go to his bosses home to drop off his van and pick up the other van.. From looking at the previous reviews, I guess I have been one of the lucky ones who has had a good experience with SuperShuttle-friendly, good driver, although he did arrive way before my a green upon window period. My only comment is that I am unsure as to who we are tipping when we make the booking online. There are signs inside the vans stating that tip is not included in the voucher or ticket. It does not make sense that we are tipping SuperShuttle-my understanding would be that this would go to the driver. I don't know if I'm being stupid, but I feel like this should be clarified on the reservations page. read more

I booked a Super Shuttle well in advance for a service from Bowery street to Laguardia. My pick up time was supposed to be @ 11:05 am. I called them @ 11:35 am to tell them that the shuttle didn't arrive. I was on hold for about 10 minutes and at the end of that was disconnected - I didn't even get the opportunity to talk to a service representative!!! By 12 pm I had given up and called a cab to take me to the airport. I understand that traffic is really bad in New York, BUT THE LEAST THEY CAN DO IS CALL TO TELL ME THAT THEY AREN'T COMING!!!!! I received a call from Super Shuttle an hour before my scheduled pick-up announcing they were cancelling my reservation to Newark for an international flight. When I asked for an explanation, the representative told me that they could not guarantee getting me to the airport in time for my flight (they called me around 4:30 and my flight was not until 10:00pm). This left me scrambling to find another way to Newark.. I did receive a response from their Customer Service Team offering an apology and instructions on how to receive a refund for any additional costs to me. I explained that it's unlikely that I would use their service again as they were not reliable, and that I hadn't received an adequate explanation as to why my reservation was cancelled in the first place. It's really a pity that there is not a reliable shuttle service to and from the NYC area airports. Like so many others posting their reviews, I will find another way to travel. read more

Fool me once, it's your fault; fool me twice, it's mine. I should have learned my lesson after using SuperShuttle two years ago for a trip to Arizona. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!! They are downright awful!! This year, my wife and I traveled to New Mexico for a vacation. The morning service pick up was good and the driver was pleasant. However, the wheels came off when we returned from our trip on July 27, 2014. SuperShuttle requires customers to call for a pick-up reminder from the airport upon arrival. Our evening return flight had been delayed in Orlando and I called SuperShuttle to notify them that we would be landing 2 hours later than scheduled. I waited over 12 minutes on hold before a person picked up the phone.The receptionist thanked me for calling and told me a driver would be waiting for us at MacArthur Airport by 12:30am. I called the moment we landed (12:15am) and, after waiting another 16 minutes on hold, was told by another receptionist that they didn't have a driver in the area! (This is the same thing that I was told two year ago!!!) I asked her how this could have happened after I had called less than 3 hours earlier?! We had no choice but to wait because I prepaid for the service. My wife and I waited alone outside the terminal for over 1 hour! A police officer drove by us to ask if we were okay. I told him we were waiting for the SuperShuttle van to arrive, and his response was "you have my condolences." The SuperShuttle van finally arrived at 1:30am with one of the most unpleasant drivers I have ever met. He did not greet us or ask how we were. He just opened the van door and put out bags in. He clearly could care less about us as paying customers. As we departed the airport I told him that SuperShuttle drivers must feel like sitting ducks for angry customers who are left stranded at airports because of the company's bad dispatch practices. His sarcastic response? "It's late on a Sunday night and the drivers are all home in bed." He announced that all he was focused on was September 1, the day he was retiring. Are you kidding me? How can this company declare themselves a 24 hour service when they are ill equipped with such unprofessional drivers? My advice for this company? Get your dispatch system in order; stop making people wait 10-15 minutes on hold with telephone calls; hire better drivers without attitude problems! It is not my fault as a paying customer that your drivers are tired because it was late on Sunday night!! I gave your company more than ample notification that my flight was delayed in returning to Long Island and was treated like crap. I have had better transportation service in Europe. read more

Arrived at JFK at 12:50am, checked in with super shuttle at 1 and was told there would be a 45 minute wait. That was fine, so we opted to wait over taking the subway into Manhattan. So we book a "Super" Shuttle for an 11:10 pick up from our hotel to JFK. They said they would be there between 11:10 and 11:25 so we waited outside our hotel. At 11:35 I got an automated call saying the driver was 10 minutes away. He eventually turned up at 12:00. Then he tells us we have another two pick ups before we leave Manhattan. After the last two pick ups wading through traffic and taking the Queensboro Bridge he takes a detour through a neighbourhood that results us hitting more traffic. I assume the detour was to avoid tolls or something. Anyway, we end up getting to the airport at 13:50. Get an Uber, take a cab, get the train, even ride a skateboard before booking one of these things. If you do make the mistake of booking one, make sure you leave yourself at least 3 hours. read more

I can't believe this 'service' gets any repeat business. I guess I was lucky as I was the last passenger to be picked up. One person had already left to catch a taxi in order to get to a Broadway show. So I knew of course it was a shared ride but I wasn't expecting the first stop to be 113th when the rest of us were all south of Central Park. I actually got out at 55th on Lexington and walked to my hotel near Broadway and probably saved myself a bunch of time. It also got me away from the driver who spent the first half hour on the phone (hand held) on a private conversation dissing Super Shuttle. That was after he told us that the left hand indicator wasn't working. Horrible experience and so time consuming. The silver lining is it's incentivized me to sign up with uber for my return trip to JFK. Unless you've got tons of time to spare don't use this business. read more

If you are traveling alone then it might make sense monetarily for you to take Super Shuttle if you don't want to public transpo it. Just be warned that every time I have used them, I have waited quite a while for the van to arrive. Today I waited an hour for a van to pick me up at LaGuardia, but the dispatcher said that it would arrive in 20 min. I wouldn't advise you to use this service if you are in a rush. read more

Driver never showed! I had one phone call, went outside immediately and waited. When I called they said it'd be there soon and that it was just a warning call. Waited more, called again. This time they said I'd missed it and it was my fault. They refused to send another shuttle, I waited approximately an hour from my slot time before I had to take a taxi to the airport. I told the taxi driver and he said he'd heard of many similar stories! I've sent them an angry email and I'm just hoping they don't try to charge me for this ridiculous experience. read more

Generally good and reliable. Used it leaving Manhattan to JFK and again on return. Somewhat dependent on other passengers in ride share being on time and not causing delays, but even with these delays in both directions the drivers showed up when they were supposed to. read more

I booked a ride with Super Shuttle from Midtown Manhattan to JFK. They informed me that I was due to be picked up sometime between 12:50 and 1:05. However, despite being at the designated spot as early as 12:40, I was never picked up. At one point, around 12:50, I actually saw a Super Shuttle bus stopping on the opposite side of the street at a traffic light, but it just continued on when the light turned green again, without any intention of picking me up, despite me waving frantically. I continued waiting for the pickup for some time without seeing any other Super Shuttle. Eventually, I had to take a yellow cab to JFK to barely make my flight in time. I contacted them a day later to at least get reimbursed for the trip that never took place but despite sending reminders I neither received a response nor did I get a refund plus I had additional costs of about 70 dollars. It has been two weeks already since I wrote to them. Stay away, unreliable service and non-existent customer response. Not exactly what you want when you have to catch a plane. read more

If I could give negative starts, I would. -5 would be aboput right, if that can be the worst possible rating. I was picked up 3 hrs and 15 minutes before my flight. The driver was a total jerk, bragging about how many people he can cram into his bus, because he gets paid per person, not per trip or per hour. So, he drove all over Manhattan, picking people up for 2 hours! And then, as we were heading to the airport said that "it didn't look good" for me. I did, in fact, miss my flight. We used super shuttle from our flight from JFK to our hotel in Manhattan. Our driver was professional and friendly and the van appeared to be in good working order. The only down side was with all the additional passengers it took a long time to get to our hotel traveling through the city with all the city traffic. read more

Drivers were great - professional, prompt, and helpful! Communications via text were appreciated and kept me in the loop at all times. Thank you!! This is a great alternative to cabs if it's a busy time at LaGuardia (which it normally is). It allows you to control the price by paying in advance and you're able to avoid the "hidden" costs of some cabbies who will take advantage of some tourists. Also, if you aren't pressed for time, you're able to see some sites and neighborhoods of NYC while other passengers are dropped off (if your drop-off isn't first). My only suggestions (which may be beyond the SuperShuttle control)...... 1. - there's a woman who works the desk in LaGuardia (not sure if she's with SuperShuttle or airport) where passengers check in....you cannot hear her because she talks so quietly and she's totally panicked in her demeanor, which is a little unsettling and can cause passengers to think there's some issue and question - hmmm, are we going anywhere today and did something just happen? 2. more space/seating and fewer tv's are needed in LaGuardia waiting/pick up area; passengers are like sardines with blaring tv's; thankfully, we didn't have to spend much time there! LaGuardia is a "necessary evil" sometimes, though....it's a dump of an airport in need of a major renovation. SuperShuttle - thumbs up to you and, unlike some other reviewers on here, we had a great experience with the drivers who worked the January 2nd vehicle #827/early evening shift and the January 6th vehicle #661 early afternoon shift. read more

Take a cab. I am currently seething in a super shuttle since he had two drop offs in Washington DC and I live in Maryland. It has been over 45 minutes on this freaking shuttle and still riding around in DC for the second drop off. I have had easy rides TO the airport, so I figured I would give them a shot. But they don't care about their customers time, or the fact that they may not want to sit in traffic for OVER an hour due to their poor planning for customer drop offs. I really want to ask for my money back, since this is really unreasonable. I expect some inconvenience due to the business model of super shuttle, but if you have 4 passengers for DC and 2 for Maryland, there should have been two shuttles. I really hate the fact that they wasted an hour of my time after having a long day of flying. I will not be recommending this service ever again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Upon arriving to the airport we waited about 20 minutes to get picked and it was another 15 minutes before we left the actual airport after picking up 2 more families. Booking super shuttle we anticipated a straight ride from the airport to our hotel... Man we were mistaken. It was more like an unwanted tour of Manhattan. Traffic was nothing worse than the usual New York City traffic but I will say it took us 2 and a half hours to get from La Guardia to our hotel on 33rd Street. Having mapped it before our trip it stated the ride should be no more than 45 minutes. We would have been better off using public transportation. Also upon booking and payment there was the option to tip the the driver, so I did. Upon entering the the shuttle there was a sticker stating gratuity not included in fair. See this I felt almost obligated to tip the driver again. Let me just say this was not a good start to our trip. read more

I would love to give Super Shuttle zero stars, but it's not an option. I booked a shuttle from Manhattan to EWR for 1:30am...at 12:30am, I got a call from a driver saying that since no one else booked a ride, that my ride is being cancelled. THANKS FOR THE F-ING NOTICE! As anyone who flies out of EWR knows, the NJ transit train is not running at that hour, so you are kinda forced to either leave super early if you want to take the train...or book a shuttle/bus. I booked the shuttle well in advance because I'm too lazy to go to the airport super early to catch the NJ Transit train...I wish they had given me the same courtesy of cancelling my shuttle in advance so that I could make alternative arrangements. It ended up being very stressful and put a bad vibe on the beginning of our trip to Mexico. I would recommended NOT using SuperShuttle. Go with the Newark Liberty Bus, or take the train. Zero stars. Let me start with....waiting time at JFK lounge was bit longer than expected but it was nice once i was picked up by SS. i found driver was very nice provding all the information that i asked him. There is no doubt that i will recommand to all friends and colleagues who plan to travel to US. i will also recommand to first time travel to take care of them against very little money compareing to taxis. I booked a ride for my mother from the Port Authority bus terminal in NYC to JFK airport. The night before, I called like 5 times trying to figure out where in the terminal they would be picking her up from, only to be mistreated and hung up on because I didn't know the address of where I was going to be picked up from and the rep "wasn't local" (the reason why I called in the first place). The following day I realized that the reservation confirmation said she'd be picked up from Port Authority but the confirmation email said Grand Central. I called several times, was transferred and given different numbers to call, and hung up on again, only to find out they had hired another company to take the ride, but that company no longer offers the Port Authority-JFK trip. She ended up waiting 1 hour to be picked up and had to take a taxi instead, costing her like 3x what we had already paid for the shuttle service. I did receive an email from a customer rep offering me a refund, but wouldn't recommend this company to anyone as I ended up spending like 2 hours on the phone with them and can confirm that their phone representatives are very rude and unprofessional and will not care at all if they're leaving you stranded and you might lose your international flight or not. read more

I would give it less stars if I could. And by the way it's not because of traffic because the driver didn't start driving to the other pick ups until 7:15 and he was on the exact opposite side of the island (their pickup was in the 20s and he was in the 90s). read more
