I've had no problems taking super shuttle to airports. But home, that's a different story. I checked in online and received a text message saying my shuttle would arrive within 15-20 mins. 40 mins later and no update or assigned van, I decided to call customer service. 17 min wait later I am transferred to the dispatcher who tells me my van "broke down" and it would be another hour until another van could come. I then asked for a refund which prompted a transfer back to the main number and another 10 min hold. After a handful more holding I was finally refunded. Needless to say all this was definitely not worth the 6$ I would have saved using super shuttle instead of uber pool. read more

After using this service satisfactorily for years will no longer use. We prebooked and paid online as we usually do. Pickup at our home went well, although vehicle was not clean inside and did not seem well maintained. Upon return at our prescheduled time, waited at JFK for an hour, no Shuttle, called them , put on hold several times, more than 15 minutes. Although we had reservation number were finally told no car available for at least another hour and that we should find another means of transportation and our money was refunded. Fortunately the yellow cab driver was a nice, competent driver and we were happy to give him the fare, expensive ,as the ride was to Suffolk County. read more

Don't do it!! I booked the Super Shuttle from JFK to Manhatten to save money on a cab..big mistake!! It took them a long time to pick us up at the airport..when they did, the shuttle was so packed here was no room for luggage so they put it in the doorway. Then it took forever to get to the hotel because they had so many stops to drop people off..spend the money for a cab..it isn't worth the small savings to lose so much time getting to your destination! read more

I've had a horrible experience with Supershuttle. I've used them in the past with no problem, so I'm really upset how downhill this company has gone over the years. I booked a ride to JFK airport and was supposed to be picked up about 3 hours prior to my flight. I received a text update that the pickup would be later than scheduled. Spoke to the guy 3 different times on the phone. He told me the other pickup was "late". At this point, he still wasn't there and on the locator map link he was driving away from my location. I had no choice but to get a regular Uber which cost me $70. To make matters worse, there's no customer service. I call the number and there is zero help from the supervisor. I'm told that after Supershuttle's screw up that I now have to go online, fill out a form and then wait up to 7 days for a response/refund? Okay. Fine. I'll go online and while I'm at it, you also get a one star Yelp review. And I'll call my bank and tell them this is a fraudulent charge for services I didn't receive. read more

Never take this-we waited 1 1/2 hours for them to fill the shuttle then we were the last stop so another 3 hours-arrived in Newark at 7 am and got to nyc hotel at 11:30 am- paid for round trip and on return (after waiting on hold for 30 min ) we were told pick up was 4:50 am for a 9:15 am flight on a Sunday morning (no traffic) so we took an Uber and got here in 30 minutes they said it was a busy morning and they could not guarantee we would make our flight read more

We arrived in NYC and there was a super shuttle at the airport. The driver accepted our ride so we didn't have to wait for the next driver to arrive. The trip into the city was an experience I won't forget, however I don't think any driver could have done better. Our trip back to the airport was the same. Why are they still allowed to be in business? It took me ten years to get over my last bad experience (didn't show up at the last minute or tell me they weren't showing up - suggested that I TAKE A CAB TO NEWARK AIRPORT). Last night I got into JFK at 11:30pm, promptly called Super Shuttle - "20 minutes, stay right where you are". Forty minutes later, "just five more minutes". If you want a real third world experience that will get your stay in the Big Apple off to a really crappy start, then, by all means use Super Shuttle for your ground transportation from Newark to NYC. We went around, and around and around and around from terminal to terminal for 45 minutes in an effort to fill the van up. I was pretty sure that if the driver had been able to find a load of chickens and a few goats to strap on the roof he would have done so. Once we finally got through the Lincoln Tunnel into Manhattan - and after we played "go eveyrwhere but your hotel first" - low and behold we encountered a Robert Burns Birthday parade at 51st and Avenue of the Americas. Being of Scottish descent I decided to exit the van and get a closer look at the marching pipers, drummers, tartans, etc. Big Mistake. Juan Valdez our driver immediately forgot I existed and tried to "run the gauntlet" between the drum corps and assorted pipers. While I tried to get back in the van Juan floored it and about took my arm off.. It was actually pretty funny. Juan's the only guy I've ever driven with that can talk on his cell phone, send text messages, listen to a maricchi music while humming "You are My Sunshine" in spanish. Judging from his performance at the Lincoln Tunnel I'm pretty sure that he's on of the guys than ran Dale Earnhart off the track. STAY AWAY! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The last reservation I made with Supershuttle, the driver never showed up despite me waiting for an hour outside of my pickup location. I was constantly on the phone with representatives who informed me that the driver was "just 10minutes away" each time. Finally, after an hour, I found my own way to the airport and called customer service to cancel my return trip with SuperShuttle. I was informed that my claim was sent for review and I was expecting a full refund. However, I just got off the phone (2 weeks of waiting to hear from customer service) and was told that they opted to not refund my trip. This is a HORRIBLE company with extremely poor quality of service. I would recommend everyone to STAY AWAY and NEVER BOOK WITH SUPERSHUTTLE! read more

We booked Super Shuttle in advance via Expedia.com for pickup from LaGuardia to Manhattan and back. On arrival had to schedule pickup than waited for 20 minutes then made it to our hotel in a very tight van. On return, Manhattan to LaGuardia, were given a pickup time 4 (four!) hours before scheduled flight. When we asked for a pickup 3 hours before flight customer service said OK but that they will not guarantee timely arrival to airport. We were ready in lobby at pickup time. Consierge made the comment that SuperShuttle is always late and indeed after waiting for 20 minutes we had to call customer service and were told that there was "heavy" traffic (not true), driver was about to arrive and we should go out and wait at intersection to speed things up. However 40 minutes past pickup time, we had to call customer service again and were told that the van is less then 1/2 mile out and we should keep waiting at same spot. Traffic was not even close to heavy! Needles to say, even 60 minutes past pickup time the shuttle did not arrive and we took a taxi. It cost the same as the shuttle including tip and we had a confortable direct ride to the airport in 25 minutes. Being in New York for the first time your company has caused us significant distress and anxiety and acted in a non professional manner. Personally I never again plan to use SuperShuttle.. read more

Terrible. No accountability whatsoever! Tried them twice, won't do it ever again. First time: My wife missed my flight because the shuttle showed up a full 45 minutes late. The shuttle driver showed no remorse at all for showing up late and made some comment like "you can't fault me for NYC traffic". Second time: After waiting until 2:40 for a 2:00pm pickup in the city, my friend had to rush to Penn station with all her bags. On the way we see the shuttle and I confronted the driver about the delay. His response repeatedly was, "this is not my problem. I had to pick all these people up first, so it is Supershuttle's problem"! I see some folks have provided favorable reviews for the Newark super shuttle here and I don't doubt that they would have been on time on a few occasions. But this seems to be a lottery - sometimes they'll get you to the airport on time, and some other times they may not show up at all! No thanks, making or missing a flight is not something I want to gamble with. read more

The T(r)ip I Regretted the Most! Last Aug 13th I booked Super Shuttle to get from the Upper East Side to JFK. Big mistake. The van that was supposed to pick me and my boyfriend up was more than 20 late (that is to say, 20 minutes after the 15-minute window). Secondly, the driver didn't know anything about my reservation (which was detailed and made 48 hours before). He didn't know how many people he was picking up, the number of luggages, nor the terminal he was supposed to drop us off (even though I wrote the airline company, the number of the flight and destination on my reservation). To make matters even worse, he was absolutely lazy and didn't feel like picking up our bags to put on the van (my boyfriend actually had to do it for him or we wouldn't move). Never regretted tipping so much. Finally, the worst. Since he completely ignored all the information I had provided, he dropped us at the wrong terminal in the airport (even though I asked him twice if he was sure it was the right terminal) and caused a great deal of distress. We had to take a long international flight and we found ourselves carrying heavy bags around the wrong terminal of a gigantic airport more than 35 minutes after we had hoped to be in. There is no excuse for such a lousy service rendered. This experience showed me I should never use Super Shuttle services again. This company is not hungry, and you can drop dead for all they care. I did not have the awful experiences I read below going TO the airport, in that they showed up. So I guess I should not complain about huge delays in getting picked -up for the trip FROM airport, and mixed-message updates about pick-up time going TO the airport. There seems to be a slot screaming for a hungry, RELIABLE, truth-speaking, user-friendly competitor in the NYC market. We traveled to NYC in October 2011 and the travel Agency arranging our trip recommended Super Shuttle for airport transfers, but after reading the reviews I was a little reluctant. After doing some research and seeing that a taxi from LaGuardia to our hotel wouldn't be too bad I decided that we would go that route. After arriving and getting our bags we changed our mind after seeing the line at the cab stand. There was a Super Shuttle driver by the Port Authority stand and I asked him how long for a ride to our hotel and gave him the hotel's address. We lucked out and he had room for my daughter and I. We picked up a few more people at the Airport and had almost a full van. Traffic was bad, but all in all we arrived at our hotel in less than an hour after dropping off the other patrons at 4 different stops. It was by far more reasonably priced than a taxi would have been and the driver was very courteous. I reserved Super Shuttle for our trip from our hotel in Midtown Manhattan to JFK less than 12 hours in advance and the driver was about 10 minutes early but we were already downstairs and ready to go. He heard that there was a delay on the highway so he took an alternative route and we arrived at the airport faster than I had anticipated. The person taking the reservations checked the recommended travel time from Midtown Manhattan to JFK to ensure we had enough time to make it through security, etc. so we wouldn't miss our flight. All in all I thought this shuttle service did a nice job and perhaps they have added vans and drivers to improve service since the last comments were posted. I will definitely use them again the next time traveling to NYC. read more

Basicly saying; Super Shuttle is shit. At arrival in Newark Airport, we had to wait 25 minutes for our super shuttle to arrive. Thing is, the super shuttle was already there the whole time, waiting for nothing, well us, I suppose. After getting into the van we waited at a lousy gathering place for some other people. The people didn't show up there and the driver had to drive back to the airport to pick them up. Afterwards, we got stuck in traffic, not the driver's fault, but he could have circumvented it by just leaving and get the other passengers with another van. Our expected time of arrival at our apartment was 5 pm. 7:30 pm was our real time of arrival. And that's not all. When I called for our ride back to the airport I waited 8 minutes on hold, while hearing a messed up 32 kbps jazzy sound. Do you imagine listening to that for 8 frickin minutes? I was ready to throw my phone out of the window. Our call was finally picked up (let me remind you that we called 11:30 pm, who the heck calls at that time?) by a really slow guy. We sat on the phone for 23 minutes. That's 28 euros for caling a van that should be easily ordered online, but no. You can't insert your booking reference online, you can only buy tickets online. It's ridiculous. So bottom line: 84 euros for the rides from and to the airport. 28 euros for calling on the phone. You're better off calling a cab. Peace out. read more

I would like to write this review because I have been disappointed so far with the opinions of fellow NYC yelpers. When I took the SuperShuttle to the JFK, after reading your reviews 4 days ago, my flight was due to leave at 6:15 pm. BUT after reading all the negative reviews, I worried I would miss my flight if I chose my pick-up time to be 2:00 pm. Therefore, I pretended that my flight was due to leave at 4:00 pm while booking my shuttle and arranged for pick-up at 12:45 pm. This way, I figured, after reading so many poor reviews about supershuttle, even if I ended up waiting one hour and stuck in traffic for 2 other hours, I would still be in the airport around 3:45 pm, just in time to check-in for my flight. Well, the pickup shuttle was in front of my building at 12:45 pm. I was in JFK by 1:30 pm, checked in by 2:00 pm with 4 hours and 15 minutes to waste in an airport that does not invest in free Wifi. This was my experience. I don't want you to base your opinion of super shuttle solely on my interactions with this business. But I also would like to reassure passengers who prefer to pay less for their fare to the airport. SuperShuttle seemed to work for me. P.S. On the way back from JFK, I took airlink NYC. It was a thirty minute wait and I was in my apartment within 1 hour. I think it's reasonable. You are taking shared transportation, it's going to take longer than a cab. read more

THEY ARE THEIVES. 45 minutes late I can handle - having a driver take two of my dresses - $500s GONE. When I call to campany, they dont care, treat me like im an idiot, sarcastically tell me to call the police. We were left waiting at the airport for an hour and a half. We called at least five times and were constantly lied to, being told it would only be "5 or 10 more minutes" after an initial 30 minute estimate. If they had just told us in the first place the real amount of time it was going to take, we would have gladly taken a cab instead. Then to make matters worse the driver incompetently drove all the way to the East side and dropped off all the East Side customers first, even though he entered the city through the Lincoln Tunnel on the west side of the city and was just two minutes from our apartment, adding an extra half hour to the travel time. The driver also talked on the cell phone the entire ride home, and he did not use a hands free phone, which is illegal! In the end it took us nearly 3 hours to travel just a few miles from Newark into Manhattan. This company is the absolute worst ever and I will never use their service ever again. read more

I've posted a feedabck here over 3 weeks ago - like always, they posted a commet on my feedback saying how sorry they are and suggested i should write an email to their costumer service throught the attached link promissing replay within 3-5 days. First experience: fine. Second experience: terrible!! I was waiting for a van to get me to JFK. Van was supposed to pick me up between 7.15 and 7.30. By 7.35, no one, and the tracking system said the van had arrived to JFK already, so I called the service. They told me that the van had forgotten me and that nobody could pick me up, that I had to find another way to reach the airport. When I asked for a refund, they sounded surprised. The next guy gave a number and told me I'd receive an email with information about the pending refund. When I finally was in a taxi, around 7.50 I received a text saying the van was waiting for me outside my building. It is now almost 4 weeks later, and I received nothing: no email, no refund, no response to any email I sent. Terrible service!! NEVER, NEVER USE THEM. THE WORST SHUTTLE COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED. I arrived at Newark on September 16th at 12.20 a.m. and made the call from the airport to let them know I was waiting. Ten minutes later they reached me to my cell letting me know that the closest driver will take at least 90 minutes to get to the airport, so I can cancel their services if that is what I wanted to do. I managed to reach my hotel in a SuperShuttle van with a driver who was making a private service to a couple and allowed me to go with them. DRIVERS ARE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS. They own the van and have the freedom to do their own rides as they please. The result is that if they find clients who pay more for the ride, RESERVATIONS DO NOT MATTER, you will be ditch whatever you are because drivers are not available. This is how this company operates. Reservations are irrelevant for this company, you can never be sure you actually have a shuttle to your destination. read more

Terrible service. Booked in advance. Arrived in JFK, phoned to check in and was told 25-30mins for a van to arrive. 45mins later, no van. Phone them back and was told that we where listed as a no show even though we stood exactly where we where told. Said they would send another van in 10-15 mins. 30 mins later no van. Phoned again and they said he was pulling up outside terminal 7 where we were. Went outside, no van. Phoned back and what they meant was he was pulling up outside terminal 4 to pick up other passengers. Instead of leaving the airport at 9:40pm, it was after 11pm. We then did a massive detour round NYC to leave off other passengers, some of which had waited 3 hours for their pickup, we arrive at our hotel at 1:30am. read more

Absolutely sucks. Should be investigated by the consumer fraud bureau. Had a reservation for 8 pm from Newark to Manhattan, not picked up until 10:30 pm, then waited around the airport for 1/2 hour. Got tired of waiting and got out and took a cab! The customer service reps said that this is a franchise and basically the super shuttle simply dispatches the shuttles (like a cab company)..and the drivers are independent and do whatever they want. This is my first time of using these services, so I might not have enough experience for comparison. One thing for sure is that I was surely protected by the company. I booked the shared shuttle for my flight at 6 am at 4th of July. As you can see, only crazy would leave NYC at 4th of July, so that shared shuttle was (I presume) not filled. But the company sent me a car (I did not have to pay anything extra for that) just for myself. The best thing was that I did not even know that the shuttle was cancelled, and did not get even nervous/anxious about it. They just resolved the problem without my participation. Earlier, they called me to shift my planned shuffle for an earlier time, which was okay by me (some might not like it). It was just okay. We did it for the price to get from Newark to midtown, but you get what you pay for. Extremely packed ride and it took us quite a while to get there. I was confused as to where pick up was since I've never been to that airport and I requested the driver contact me for clarification, but he never did. I got off my red eye flight from LAX to JFK at 5am and I had reserved the super shuttle in advanced because the LIRR doesn't run east until 8am. When I got to the stand - I was informed that I had a 45minute wait!! What's the point and convenience of reserving in advance?? I'm exhausted and I just want to go home. Now I'm still paying $200 for a taxi cab. I will NEVER rely on super shuttle again for me personally and I will not let my office book our travelers with them either. I was standing outside for there pick up and get a text they will be there at 3:30. As i went to call super shuttle the driver called my house .The driver was rude and said that he was not supposed to be driving tonight he had been driving 12 hours already. (hmm sounds a little dangerous.) He stated he could pick me up at 3:25 and was HE COMING OR NOT?. I said okay he was cutting it close but i had pre-paid so i timed the trip it still worked. I then asked the driver if i missed my flight because of them would i be reimbursed for the cost of a new flight. He said No and was he picking me up or not?? I called super shuttle they assured me i would be if i missed my flight they wold book me another one. I told them fine to send the driver.. Standing outside again. 3:30 I called super shuttle they informed he was running even later than the 3:30 window and still had another pick up 20 minutes away after he picked me up. (not the direction of LGA) I packed my things in my truck and pulled out of the driveway at 3:45 am STILL NOT THERE. (they may have been willing to book me another flight if i missed mine but the next was 4 hours later with 2 lay overs and did not want to waste my whole day because they could not get to me on time.) I used Super Shuttle to travel from JFK to the city. It was my first time traveling to NYC, so I wanted a means of transportation that was the easiest option for me. Finding Super Shuttle in the airport was easy enough. I went to Ground Transportation at JFK and gave my confirmation number. They called me when the driver arrived, about 15 minutes later. That was the easy part. Since it was a shared ride of 10 people, it took forever, especially when there was a last minute addition to our ride and we had to sit and wait. It took almost as long to pick everyone up as it did to drive into the city. The driver kept apologizing to us. In fact, our driver was very friendly and made the trip very pleasant. The van was clean and the drive was safe, even in cold, rainy weather. I would say use Super Shuttle if you don't have to be somewhere at a particular time, as it took a while to drop everyone off, also. I would probably use Super Shuttle again, but not at JFK. read more

Three things that turned me off: 1. I used to use SuperShuttle a lot but recently I made a reservation at an airport in Florida and it required phoning a dispatcher to send me the shuttle (smaller airport I am guessing?). I couldn't reach one-- neither could the customer service rep I called to help me. So I cancelled the ride and took a taxi last minute-- expensive ride this way, so that is why it was distressing. 2. When I booked online to get this ride scheduled in the first place, their website offered a rebate and a number to call. So I called. Turns out it is a third party and SuperShuttle doesn't take responsibility for it (though they allow that company to do the popup when you reserve). Well, the problem was the third party person would only give a rebate if I signed up for another thing... she was also rude and talked over me even though I said I was not interested. Don't call the rebate number. 3. A. I called SuperShuttle to let them know that this number had rude service and that I had no idea whether I was signed up for something else or not. SuperShuttle said they couldn't help me because it was a third party... I asked if I could let someone at the company know that they had signed on with a third party that had rude service and that it doesn't help SuperShuttle customers. So they said to call their customer care number on a business day. B. So I called on a business day, and the new rep that I asked to connect me to the customer care number said the other rep didn't know what she was talking (!) about and that I can't talk to the customer care people (?). She was so pushy and rude that I asked to just speak to another person, and she falsely claimed there was no other person (mind you, if I hang up and call again, I would automatically get another customer service person.) C. She was so rude and not telling the truth so I asked to speak to a Manager/Supervisor. Get this: she refused to. (!) Wow, so rude. So that is when I finally got upset and demanded again to speak to a manager. She put me on hold, then got back to me with a phone number to call. (note she still did not transfer me to a manager, so, SO rude). D. So I hang up and call that number she gave me: DEAD number, does not work. So... I call another rep and tell her to connect me to a Supervisor, she says she can and does. I speak to a supervisor, I am assuming a legit one (I used to work in Customer Service for another company and witnessed people saying they were Managers when they weren't, so I was hoping I was actually speaking to a legit Manager in SuperShuttle's case). And she said she would talk to the customer service person who I was complaining about because she was "sitting right in front of her." ??? Thought there was no manager around, thought there was no other person around...??? Conclusion: I say all this to you so you see what the company's driving service and company's customer care is like. I have no idea if they were making a fool of me or being sincere in the end... but this run-around was not necessary at all nor was the first rep's rude, pushy, unsupportive, and defiant behavior.
