The service was fine , but the course has deteriorated over the years. I played the course about 15 years ago because it is a local course, and at the time I saw the course beginning to deteriorate. In February I invited a relative from out of town to play. Superstition Springs was expensive but one of the lower fees for this time of year. I was so embarrassed and apologized to my relative a number of times throughout the round. Ugley bare spots on and around fairways, tee boxes uneven and divots from days ago left unfilled, not one bunker was edged or the sand tilled. I have never played a course the was this embarrassing, especially for the price. We were very disappointed. read more

The restaurant was very dirty at the time I had had lunch. There was only about 3 tables with people at them, in the restaurant. I ordered another beer with my meal. Not my milk. I am unsure of why these words were changed in my original post. and the seared steak sandwich. Was not seared. It was well done. The value was not worth the overcooked food and the poor service. read more

Have been coming to this course for years and it's always a fun challenge. Definitely need to play here.

Not a fun day. They allow way too many golfers on the course. They preach at you at the first tee about how important pace of play is, we waited on every single shot today, round took 5 hours and 15 minutes. The course looks nice, but it really is not, random holes all around the greens, making chip shots impossible. The tee boxes are not level, the ball is either above or below your feet on 50% plus of boxes. The kicker was at the turn and they have no prepared sandwiches and the cart girl hardly stopped to ask if you needed anything until the 18th tee. Not worth $92. read more

Wow, what a disappointment. This track could be so nice but they just don't do ANYTHING to maintain this course. I get what "desert" courses are supposed to look like, but this is just plain ugly. Born and raised here in the Valley. I have played over 150 courses in the state. I have always herd just how bad Superstition Springs is. People called this course trash, goat track, and not worth your time. My brother came down for the weekend. And wanted to play a couple of rounds. So he decided to book us here at Superstition Springs. I was cool with it, since I haven't played here yet. And without any high expectation, I was highly impressed with this course. Loved the layout on this course. Had a great time here. One thing they really need to work on? Clean the lakes. If they did that, this course would be amazing. Superstition Springs can be challenging, however if you just keep the ball in the fairways. You will be just fine. Greens are in good shape, rolls a little fast. I get it, we are very spoiled here in the Valley. We have some of the best courses around. However, the bad rep this place has received is very unwarranted. We golfed multiple times at SS. Wouldn't say it's on my normal rotation but we play it 2-5 times a year. Just played it yesterday and left at 9 for multiple reasons. Tee time was at 9am showed up at 830 no carts to be found. For some unknown reason they have flipped the 9's which contributes to the brutal slow play. Hole #1 is completely away from clubhouse so no starter to make sure people are on the box ready to go (2-3 groups on tee boxes every hole). Greens were bad, multiple holes the tee boxes under repair and they moved tees up to play as par 3's or real short par 4. (Still charged $53). Drainage still bad on the course so multiple soggy areas with no rain for 100 days. They need to flip the 9's back and not take as many Tee times, the course can't handle it. Club house guys were good and gave us rain check but won't use, way too many better public courses to play in the East Valley to waste time here unfortunately. read more

We bought the summer 6 pack and have been enjoying this course. It is a bit challenging in some spots but a great course to challenge yourself. The course is well maintained and the staff are friendly. I recommend it. read more

This course is the closest to the to my place and come in several times a month. the course condition is great right now. granted it has it ups and downs condition wise like any course but what keeps me coming back is the staff. always super helpful and friendly. front desk guys are always nice and Hosanna on the cart always puts a smile on your face. read more

Wow!!! I'm not super sure on where to begin on this one. Paid $60 to play this golf course. My tee time was at 3:48 Pm. I ended going out at 5 Pm due to it being "backed up" too much. I think on their website the tee time should mean when to leave your house. Therefore I should have left my house at 3:48 for my 3:48 tee time. They then said it was going to be backed up so they gave me range balls on the house, to only arrive to the range and it being more packed than a pack of hyenas. Also for that price for the golf course being on a massive ant hill, they may as well just call eco shield pest control to take care of their issues. I was hoping to at least get in 14 holes. Although what happens is not what you think, we got our cart straight from the group finishing 18. Idk if their carts are running on the energizer bunny but I had to push the cart back myself. Next time they should prioritize getting their carts from temu. Lastly, this should not be called a golf course, it rather should be called a practice facility, due to people in front of me not even golfing but rather getting lessons on the course. This course was once on our rotation of courses... we've tried a few times and have had the same results. Teeing off at first light means you will play into sprinklers, not the automatic sprinklers but a sprinkler attached to a hose, in my opinion this is even worse because it can easily be removed or turned off. Debris everywhere!!!!!!! The greens are horrible, absolutely embarrassing. The only positive is the staff is friendly and kind, but if you're looking for a relaxing round to enjoy the outdoors, skip this course. read more

I signed up for the back 9 and breakfast online. I show up to check in and they gave me a voucher for the breakfast which is good for today only all the while telling me how good the breakfast is there. I play the back 9 working up an incredible hunger. I walk in to the restaurant to try out the amazing breakfast I heard so much about only to find out it's closed on Wednesdays. Awesome. Quite the bait and switch they got going on there. I guess I'll hold onto the voucher good for today only as a souvenir and reminder of the bad service and I'll find a new course to play the back 9 and breakfast with. read more

Two weeks ago I played and I talked with Alex, the golf assistant manager, out on the range. He was picking up baskets and I don't think I know of another course where the managers are as attentive to the course as this one. Was impressed. Alex and Bill made it fun... I usually hit balls at greenfield but I think I'll come here this season. Range needs work, but overall was happy with conditions. Maybe some water or beer stations at the range would make to cool/more accommodating. read more

Wow! What an amazing and interesting course! My husband had booked an early tee time on Saturday morning and we were both excited to try this place out as we had never been here before. I'm not this golfer, I like to take along and drive the cart and be moral support. When we went into the clubhouse golf store we were greeted by one of the staff, who was an older gentleman and very enthusiastic about golf. We were amazed at how kind he was. We talked to him for a bit then got on our way to play the back nine of this course. We started at 6am, and honestly it was beautiful. I took so many photos, the course was in great shape. It was very interesting and challenging, which was great to see my husband challenged. He had a great time, we would most definitely recommend this course and would return. read more

Played here on 7/23/23 and won't be going back. It's unfortunate as this course has been great in the past but has completely fell off a cliff. The conditions are some of the worst I've ever seen for a course charging $70. I wouldn't want to play here even if you paid me $70, it's not even worth it. Most tee boxes lack any grass at all, fairways just about the same with an occasional green spot. Greens we're in relatively good shape as they are recovering from being punched recently so they are understandably bumpy, it's that time of year in PHX. Really sad to see a fun track like this take a turn for the worst. Hopefully the crew is working diligently to revive it and bring it back in a few years. Sad to see. read more

Played this course about a week ago and it's very sad to know the course is going downhill. The water holes are awful and full of trash. The smell on hole 6 is so toxic you can feel the sewage gases. It really, really is bad and it can't be healthy for anyone! If you play there avoid hole six, you'll be ready to throw up. I can't understand how anyone hasn't reported this to the city. It's really BAD!! Great layout and could be a beautiful course but come on guys, CLEAN IT UP!! Disappointed and won't be going back. By the way, Kokopeli is just as bad if not worse! read more

Me and my group have been ARCIS members here for the past 5 years and I can tell you this will be the last. The management here has really dropped the ball here this past year. We show up for our tee time and they do not have enough golf carts so you have to stand around waiting for a group to come off of 18 so you can get a cart often times it takes up to or past your tee time last week we waited until 30 minutes past our time and finally just left without playing. Also the pace of play here is painfully slow especially on hole 8, they removed a walking bridge here a few years ago and this really slows play there is generally 2-4 groups waiting on this tee box. Play is generally a 5 hour round here, brutal. Part of the problem is they are scheduling 8 minute tee times so they keep sending groups out even when the course is all backed up. We have complained about these issues and the local management does not seem to care. Overall I would not recommend anyone play this course unless you enjoy standing around waiting all day. Like I said before this will be our last year here. read more

They promoted that they had just aerated the greens and were very apologetic. The greens were the best part. There was garbage like a homeless camp on one hole. Stunk to high heaven. Played there yesterday our round was 6 hours with no apologies. There was a golf tournament but we should have been warned. Restaurant was swamped. This golf course is run down, shabby, and dirty. The ponds in some cases were totally empty, the fairways patchy, and the sand traps were like hitting out of cement. Very few had actual sand in them, which is unfortunate because there are a lot of traps on the course. Garbage lined the pond on the 18th hole, and you felt as if some of the bridges were unsafe. At the $48 rate, I feel ripped off. There are better courses available for $15. read more

This is literally the second worst golf course to play golf at in the entire state of Arizona. And I've played em all over 30 years. Course design sucks, price sucks, pace sucks, it smells bad, bad shape even in the winter (why so f-ing soggy in late November?) and comically barren in the summer. Sometimes (like today) there's no water in the water hazards, other times they're ridiculously over full and you have to drive your cart through them floor board deep. Summer fairways and tees don't have grass on them. Winter tees and fairways are soggy as sh*t. Some rough is dry dormant Bermuda, other rough is 6 inch high winter Rye. You never know what you're gonna get. Tee boxes are as mounded as the fairways. I live a couple miles from here and always hate myself for giving it another chance. Never again. This track needs to die. Only Kokopelli is worse, and it's a close call. Don't do it, unless you love the scent of dead fish and 6 hour rounds paired with goofy golf design. Play anywhere else. I came here for a sorority formal event. The place is beautiful and the staff was friendly. However my pasta came out very dry and the noodles weren't cooked properly and stuck together. I understand that they have to cook in large quantities but for a banquet type hall you would think they know how to cook for a large party and keep the pasta from sticking together. They set up a drink station with tea, coffee, and soda but they were lacking in the water department. Each table had two pitchers of water that quickly ran out on two different tables I was at. And the servers didn't do a good job in refilling the pitchers. Although a very beautiful location, I don't see myself returning to host any events here. read more

This 2 star review is no reflection of the staff, they were top notch for what they had to deal with. The course was very very dry, the "water" hazards had no water, and the fairways, tee boxes, & greens were dry with dirt showing. The pace of play was extremely slow. This could be due to overbooking or from what we experienced on hole 11 and hole 18. Hole 11 had a woman let what we are guessing are her kids run across the fairway with their dog. When we yelled at the kids "hey don't go over the fairway or even close to it because you could get hurt" she yelled at us saying "you haven't even taken a practice swing, they will move." This comment is completely wrong and we had to slow our pace of play while she let her kids run around the fairway to deliver a dog to another golfer driving his cart across our fairway to revive the animal. If you're paying over $70 to play a round I don't want kids in bathing suits running all over the place as it is distracting, trespassing, and dangerous. On hole 18 there were 6-7 high school age kids literally fishing on the tee box before 5 PM. I'm all about fishing, myself and my friends always fished on golf courses growing up. That being said, we always waited until the golfers are gone and the course security can't get you like at McCormick ranch, any Troon course, Stone creek, or Gainey Ranch. I want to reiterate the employees were top not and the only reason this isn't a 1 star review, but the experience by those around the golf course ruined it for us for that price. We will not drive 40+ minutes to play this course again. read more

Landscapers we're working and getting in our way for the first 9 holes. One of them even threw one of the balls we hit a little off the fairway into the water. I had to rent clubs because I flew in from Florida, spent $162.00. Over priced and inconsiderate to say the least. read more

Course is in crap shape. Besides the water levels being low which I can understand with the lack of rain but it was the trash lining the water hazards that really stuck out. The bunkers have hardly any sand in them and what is in there has not been raked in a long time. Tee boxes were in horrible shape, uneven and hardly any grass. It looks great when you drive by it on the street, but don't be fooled like us. The course is a water hazard on almost every hole. What I mean by that is there's standing water on almost every hole and I noticed in 80% of the bunkers. The tee boxes are very bumpy and uneven. Pace of play was fine, but I'll never come back here. Played Superstition Spring Saturday Oct, 2nd. The staff was pleasant and very friendly. However the disappointment began when we found they were prepping the course for reseeding. Was not warned upon making Tee time. Then we thought we would hit some balls at the range. Paid $5.50 for a bucket of ball and the ball vending machine had no balls. Fortunately they gave us our money back. The course although I feel had a great potential for play if green was not maintained as I would have hoped. There was grass clippings in the bunkers that buried your ball and difficult to find. Greens although long cut were nice and challenging. Would have been nice to have a course map on the scorecard so you know how the holes laid out and played or maybe a GPS on cart. I believe we would go back and play again after reseeding and greener course. 3 out of 5 is the best i would rate it at this time. read more
