Great place for fresh tex-mex. Best cheese quesadilla I've ever had. Pico is fresh, guacamole is flavorful, food is made to order. I get the Famous Fish Tacos only I sub grilled fish for the fried. The chipotle sauce, pico, cilantro, and authentic double wrapped corn tortillas are the perfect blend of flavors. The chips seem basic and are not my favorite but everything else I've tried has been amazing. They have a drive-thru which is ideal! Don't let the gas station location fool you! Who would have thought Ashland, KY would have a killer Taco shop? The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. The food reminds me of the popular roach coaches and food trucks in the southwest. Found this place on Yelp, and it is great! Don't be fooled by this place being in a Shell station, it puts other Burrito places to shame. I had the 619 burrito with steak, which was great. Staff was very friendly, look forward to returning on my next visit to Catlettsburg. read more

Employee I interacted with was extremely polite and courteous. I ordered a six-one-nine and was not impressed unfortunately. The steak was very dry and the portion of fries inside of the burrito to other ingredients was a little overwhelming. Walking into a gas station you wouldn't expect to find a really great taco place! This place is fast, friendly and oh so tasty! It was hard narrowing down the choices because the description of everything sounded so good. My husband and I finally decided on 3 tacos, chicken, spicy pork and carne asada as well as the carne asada fries. The tacos all come with onions, cilantro and guacamole. The meat was all seasoned really well, my favorite was definitely the pork! The carne asada fries were decent. I wish we had added queso because the shredded cheese didn't melt on the fries. The carne asada and guacamole on the fries were really good, it just needed a little something extra. read more

I'm a local who's lived in Ashland most of my life. There's very few places that serve authentic Mexican food. It has a luchador(wrestling) theme. The food is where it's at..I suggest the 3 taco combo(choice of steak,pork,spicy pork,and chicken) you can mix it up. The sweet tea is very unique and very sweet(if you like it like that,I do!).And the 619 burrito is a favorite by many. Some people may not be used to the type of food served at Duplex. I'd describe it as southern California street food. It's awesome is all I can say. It's different and very good. Good reviews here on Yelp prompted me to visit Suplex today. I'm glad I did. The staff was nice, and so were the customers. I ran in to a very nice couple from Milton who said that today was their visit too, and that they were there because of the Yelp reviews. The reviews are right, folks. The food is a refreshing change from the run of the mill. Fresh cilantro. Homemade salsa. Both were pleasing to look at and to eat. The lime wedges were a great fresh addition, too. I tried 3 tacos - Carne asada, carnitas and adobada. All were very good, but the adobada was A.mazing! Spicy shredded pork. I will be back. I MUST try the 6 1 9 that the staff told me was their best seller. I wish the guacamole had been chunkier and that it would have had some garlic in it - but that's really just my personal taste. read more

What a great little find! I would have given 4.5 stars for the food and ambience but the man at the counter was so nice to everyone that I decided on 5 stars. I had the 3 taco combo and my husband had the chicken chimichanga combo. We both really liked our meals but the plastic ware could have been a higher quality to make the food easier to eat. read more

Service was good, food was ok. I ordered three tacos, one pork, one chicken, one steak. All the meats were very dry and pretty bland. Too heavy on the cilantro, but the guacamole was really good. Very lacking in overall flavor, except for the gobs of cilantro. My son got the six-one-nine burrito and loved it, ate every bite. The hidden gem of the tri state area!!!! I'm a born and raised Californian who has been on the search for the authentic Mexican food that I grew up on. I'm pleased to say I found it here!!! In fact, this place is better than some of the places I grew up on out west!!! The fish tacos were my favorite but the others were also amazing. My only complaint is that I didn't find this place earlier!!! There's no possible way for me to express just how ecstatic I am that I found this place. The food and service are absolutely FANTASTIC. Fresh, delicious, a true departure from the Ashland norm. I go for lunch or dinner at least once a week. For the life of me, I dont know where all of these rave reviews come from. I just finished my meal there. I had the three taco combo that many posted about. Maybe the idea of Tacos hasn't made its way to Eastern KY yet, but these Tacos were COVERED in onions and cilantro, and they still managed to be the three most flavorless Tacos I have ever had. It was like the meat was boiled, instead of grilled or sauteed, and there wasn't even a hint of salt, or any other spice on them. They were very, very dry, and hard to even swallow at times. The rice was just as bland. Such a disappointment, and the place is very busy. Which tells me i probably didn't just get in on the end of a batch of meat. However, the girl at the register was pretty cute, and VERY nice, so I give them two stars for that. read more

Living in Pittsburgh, PA, my wife and I got used to authentic mexican street vendors and didn't think we would find anything like that in rural KY. Surprise!
