I've been to this auto repair a couple of times and I am so impressed. A true family business. Juan is the owner and his daughter , Diana, is the front office worker. Edwin is his son and is a mechanic. There are also several other mechanics. They fixed my car perfectly on both occasions I have been to other auto repair shops and the pricing was significantly higher. Fortunately, I live fairly close to the shop and they are my go-to place for my car's maintenance. Recently my car was misfiring and losing power when I pressed on the gas. Why does it always feel like a car always has issues at the most inopportune times in life? Thank you, Jim, for being so accommodating and helping me take care of my car as a same day walk-in. He had the oil changed, tires rotated, and checked my suspension system in an hour. Was very honest in his assessment of my car, even though it was exceedingly obvious that I knew nothing about the vehicle (he asked me how many cylinders my car had, and I sheepishly had to admit I didn't know). We recently moved from the area and boy am I going to miss going here. I might actually still make the hike when needed. And honestly, it is 100% because of Jim (the owner and basically the main person you speak to and meet when you deal with them). During COVID, he is still taking customers but he doesn't allow more than one person in at a time so it's best to call ahead. He is that old school guy that will give it to you straight. I feel like Jim is one of those guys you just meet and it instantly feels like you've known the guy for years. He's genuine and honestly cares about his customers. It's cliche to always hear that it's difficult to find a trustworthy mechanic and for the most part always did find that places wanted to up sell at the very minimum. But Jim is the complete opposite. He has always been honest and in fact has told me about avoiding certain things. For instance, I was told about some suspension and tire issues (tire-rod and some of the related pieces) when i got some new tires at another place and they told me to make sure to get that taken care of soon so I later had Jim check it out and he recommended against it. He's not about making a quick buck and knows by just being honest and up front, you're likely to come back to him regardless and that is the truth. He gives great recommendations like when i had to change my alternator, he told me something along the lines of: "look, it can make it through December but I'd think about it then" and this was around March so it gave me a ton of time to add that added cost to my budget. But those kinds of examples is exactly what he does when there is work to be done. If you cant avoid the work, he'll be straight with you on that as well. Tip: Another tip that can also be COVID related is that he does offer a drop service. I know it's not unheard of but he makes it very easy. You can always drop off your car with the keys in his drop box. I usually left it in an envelope with a note on the issues. Of course, I'd also call him ahead of time but the note was a quick reminder on things we discussed. Honestly, this guy is the best. It's always great to help local businesses but when it's backed by great people, it always makes it so much better so go ahead and take it in, you wont regret it and chances are, you wont have to find yourself another mechanic again. read more

I took my car in that has been having intermittent issues with starting for at least a month before this particular visit. I had been seeing another mechanic that had done really great work for us on other issues, but was too far away to get to easily since my car began to require towing. I gave Supreme Auto a shot based on its proximity to our home and reviews. The head mechanic listened to the chain of issues my car had been going through over the past few months, including the successful repairs of the previous mechanics as well as their opinion of what might be wrong with my car (something in the ignition). This was undoubtedly a tricky issue, as the car can be dead one day and run the next. There is no real way to tell if you've fixed it as it has ran for weeks at a time then will die again. I had the car towed up to Supreme after explaining everything and leaving receipts with my car about the problem and I was surprised to hear back from them the next day saying that they fixed the issue - they said it was just the battery and terminal (which they had already replaced and charged me for when he called). I was really skeptical about this repair. Jim (?) insisted that this was likely the fix as the car started after the battery terminal was jostled - yet my husband and I had both tried jumping the car and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery ourselves. The battery had tested out fine with prior towing visits, and although the car won't start it clearly is getting power (lights/electronics power on, etc.). The mechanic then proceeded to talk some trash about the previous mechanics that they 'didn't even check this as a potential issue', which I know they checked the battery and said as much aside from the fact that we had checked on the battery and terminals ourselves. I picked up my car and drove it home, it was dead again in the morning. I called to see about getting it towed up there and asked if they would pay for it. He was evasive about whether they'd pay for it or not, so I asked him directly "under what condition would you pay for the tow?" and he said they would pay if they car wasn't starting due to the work they did. Clearly, the car wasn't starting due to the initial problem that they failed to fix. After explaining that I was in a bind at home with all these car issues and other stuff going on, he offered to pay for half. I ultimately didn't take him up on this and went to a Ford dealership, who kept the vehicle for a week and were unable to find the issue (but also didn't just slap some parts in and call it fixed when it would decide to run one day). Ultimately, I didn't appreciate not being called about the repair before it was done, the fact that I didn't feel like all of the background I provided on the history of the car/repairs wasn't taken into account, his attitude toward the other mechanics, and the hastiness/lack of thoroughness in diagnosing the problem. read more

Bring your car here! This is the only place I will bring my car! The pricing is more than fair, they are honest, friendly, knowledgeable and the service is fast and done well. I don't get the run around and I don't get charged if their diagnosis was incorrect. The first time I took my car here it was for a second opinion. I was told I needed a whole new exhaust, so I asked for a quote for one and was told my exhaust looked good, it just needed a new flexpipe welded into place. So, I saved hundreds of dollars and my car worked great! read more

I went here for auto repairs. The repairs took longer than explained by the mechanic. I had to rent a car and take more time off from work. Though the repairs were done I had bigger problems later. I went to get an oil change a couple weeks later because the oil light had come on. It turned out I had a bad oil leak I was unaware of and Jiffy Lube wouldn't change the oil for me because the dipstick was missing. I ordered a new dipstick for the make and model of my car, but it wouldn't fit because some kind of way something was broken off in the place the dipstick is inserted and/or the engine is turned and it would cost more to fix it than to leave alone. All of that to say, though Supreme Auto Repair fixed my original auto problem, they in turn caused a problem by not putting things back together before giving me my car back. Now i have this long term problem I could go back to have them fix...but the experience was soo awful I'd rather deal w/ this problem then risk something else going wrong w/ their attempted correction. I would not return to this place again and caution others against going there for repairs. There's no clean place to sit while waiting for repairs or pick up. And the place reeks of cigarette smoke thanks to employee chain smokers. Also, foul language is used in the presence of customers. read more

My family has been in the Auto industry since my grandfather came over from World War II so you could say I have some experience working with a lot of different garages and mechanics. I took my old ford Mustang to get checked out at Supreme after taking it to a different Garage in the city that told me I needed to spend a lot of money to fix it. Jim evaluated the car and he could not find the problem I was concerned about which likely means it wasn't really a major problem in the first place. Since then the car has been running great. Now Jim could have said the opposite and told me the same story as the other garage to make a buck, but he didn't. He is honest and trustworthy. I was told by Firestone that my ball joints were shot and they needed to be replaced. they offered to do the job for about $500.00. A friend recommended me to Supreme Auto. Jim was very kind and took me right away. He put my car on the lift and noticed that the ball joints had no grease in them. He used a grease gun to fill the ball joints and that was all that they needed!! The noise stopped and that was it! I asked him how much i owed him and he said don't worry about it! A very kind and TRUTHFUL man. Firestone lied and tried to charge me several hundred dollars. Jim pointed out the real issue and fixed it for free. I will definitely be going back. Don't get ripped off by these guys! Brought my car in because AC wasn't working. They quoted me $600 for a $10 fuse. I called them up thinking maybe I need freon levels checked. They offered to check it for free. When I arrived I they pretended to troubleshoot it. I know a lot about cars and I was like what in the world is this guy doing??? All I care about is finding a honest, reasonable mechanic. The worst thing I could say about them is "everybody" smokes there- a lot. I took my boyfriend's car to them after recommendations from two cousins. I called for an appointment and they got me in immediately. I was a little leary when I got there because the place isn't very large. But to my happy surprise, Jim got me in and out in an hour and a half. He looked over the car immediately and gave me an honest assessment and quote. Not only were they fast- they were very thorough. They did only what was needed and did it well. When I called my boyfriend with the estimate, he was surprised how reasonable the oil change, brake pads and adjustment, tire rotation, etc. I laughed because he assumed it was going to be double! The thing that I appreciated most was Jim's attitude. Over the years I have found a lot of male mechanics condescending or patronizing towards women. Jim was careful to explain what he needed to do and why it was needed and then broke down the costs. No, "I found this later on further inspection" nonsense. I have to say this was the best experience I ever had at a car repair shop since I moved to IL! I brought my car in as I noticed coolant leaking from my car. They took a look and realized I needed a new radiator. They verified that I had extended warranty even made the call to care max for me to make the arrangements necessary to cover my cost! I took my car there for an oil leak. I picked my car up two days later after I was called that it was ready. I checked before I left (fortunately for me I checked) it was still leaking. I was told I would have to pay again for them to tear it back down again. I grew up in the shops weather and time constrains didn't allow me to perform my own work. However this is not very trustworthy or customer satisfaction at all. I had to take my car to a more reputable shop to have the work performed properly. This is the first review I've ever done However in the event I can save someone some money or hassle it's all good. I supplied the best kit with everything for the job. The oil pump gasket and oil pump seal wasn't replaced which was in the kit. Jim has a lot of talent and knowledge, However I guess time can take it's toll sometime. read more

Went there for an oil change, I always use Mobil 1 oil for my car, told him that so he said he has to ask someone getting it for him, i never see anyone ran an errand to get it and my oil change done in 20min. He told me I need to change brake pads and rotors he charge $290, i think it's expensive so I went to another place to see if i need it. They say i need pads but not rotors cuz they are fine. This supreme auto is BS on my oil change he even charge labor cost for oil change and told me i need rotors which i don't. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN. I'm being nice giving 1star, wish there is a zero or half star rate. read more

Jim and his crew are very very honest. i had an annoying grinding noise coming from the front end of my car last week. I was told by Midas that i needed the entire front end of my car rebuilt, which they would give me a "deal" at $1034.00. I told them i will check back with them and and a good friend recommended me to Jim. He looked at it and told me that wasn't true, that it was actually a brake disk shield cover that had become bent and was rubbing on the the cars brake rotor. He bent it back into place for free of charge. Very Very honest man. We need more mechanics like this read more
