Supreme Hot Pot is actually supreme. I always say that Columbia Pike has nothing worth visiting and that was true, except this place is worth it. I'm so sad. I didn't try Supreme when it first opened. It's absolutely delicious. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly and helpful. And this place is always busy. I've visited three times, all solo, and have seen many other solo diners there, which is great. It's got a fun and funky vibe and it's open until midnight. Supreme is AYCE and you order via QR code. My favorite broth is the Chinese herbal. It's light but very comforting. And then the Sichuan is my second favorite and it's so spicy and so delicious. I do wish they would have placards naming the options at the vegetable bar, like they do for the sauce bar. After many years of coming here, I still think this is the best hot pot spot around. The service is always incredibly kind and attentive, and the food comes out impressively fast. The meat quality is excellent, especially for all-you-can-eat. Just look at the marbling on the Kurobuta pork. Everything is sliced very thin, so it cooks almost instantly and reaches the perfect texture without becoming tough. I usually get the half original and half spicy broth. The original side is rich, savory, and comforting, while the spicy side has a deep, fragrant heat that builds without overpowering the flavor of the meat. The lamb skewers are also a must. They are fatty, spicy, tender, and almost melt in your mouth. They remind me of the lamb skewers from the street carts in New York. What impresses me most is how this place keeps improving. Years ago, they did not even offer all-you-can-eat. Now they have added AYCE hot pot, a self-service vegetable bar, and an AYCE skewer option, while somehow maintaining the same high quality of the meats and broth. Pretty good hot pot! Came here with three other friends. Did the all you can eat which was $37 per person for Saturday at 3 PM. After tax and tip, it ended up being $49 per person, and that was without any added on premium stuff. The price can be considered steep but probably is standard for the area, and you do get a lot of food and options. Service was kind of nonexistent as other reviews have alluded to. The servers did not say much or explain anything. You even self serve yourself, hot tea, and ice water. You order the meats on your phone, such as lamb, beef, pork, chicken. Seafood such as shrimp and squid were all available at the buffet area. The whole variety of vegetables was laid out there, plus all kinds of fish balls, Ramen, noodles, shrimp paste, whole crabs, other toppings. There was of course a standard hot pot sauce bar. There was a fridge with premade ice cream cups for dessert. We got the bone marrow broth and the tomato broth them. Both were absolutely delicious. For AYCE and unlimited fountain drinks, the price was fair (Arlington). The beef, lamb, and pork slices were thin and delicious. The meats felt fresh. For veggies, they have this bar where you can load up on unlimited veggies, mushrooms, and meatballs. They were pretty good too! I also had the tomato base. The base was super tasty! I was very impressed by their AYCE because there was no limit. If you spam the meat, your whole table can be filled with sliced deliciousness... no one bat an eye. Totally insane. Food is good and fresh - honestly probably one of the better places I've been to in VA. The broth was pretty flavorful and the sauce bar and ingredient bar was pretty well-kept. I particularly like the szechuan hot and spicy broth aka the mala broth, which in my opinion, is better than any other place I've tried so far around this area (they use real spices, not packaged broths, which is a totally different taste and depth in flavor). The free ingredients include clams, squid, fish and other seafood so I'd say it's a very good deal for what's included. The interior is pretty unique with the dragon paintings on the wall. Here's where the one star cut comes in. The main negative for me though was the service. You basically use the QR code which pops up the menu and send the order to the kitchen. We paid for a premium broth but it looked like they gave us one of the basic ones. When we asked then they brought it back in and then put the right broth. Strange, but we didn't think much of it. Then they brought out one of the 4 plates of meat we ordered. When the other 3 didn't come out for about 10 min, we asked when they were going to bring it out. They then said they would check on it and it came out right away. When we ordered 2 beers, they brought out 1. I think you see the theme here, point being- pay attention to every single thing that you order and make sure it's coming out (particularly the items you're paying extra for). I've seen other AYCE hot pot places do this- like you need to ask twice for something to prove you really want it, but not really to this extent, particularly for paid items. Would I go back? This place has a great selection for hot pot. I love that you can pick two different soup bases and have it split in one pot to share. My friends and I got house special and the Szechuan hot and spicy. Be warned the hot and spicy is really spicy and I have a pretty good spice tolerance. The flavor of the soup was really delicious. There's not many places that have Szechuan and I love that numbing spice. There was lots of items to pick from but I do find ordering on your own phone kind of difficult especially when you're sharing with friends. When you do order, the food comes out pretty quickly. They didn't have too many selections for meat, but they do have a lot more variety you can't find at other hot pot places. I tried this dessert that was like a churro rice cake. It costs extra from the AYCE but it was really good. They also had a cute shrimp dumpling that was shaped like a fortune bag. The place is pretty dark especially at night when there's no light coming from the windows. We were also placed in the corner so it was hard to get out to make our own sauces. This place is a bit overpriced. Our soups were tasty but very oily. My partner and I ordered half herbal soup and half spicy soup (level 1 spice level, mind you). But the latter soup was waaaay too much. Too oily and super hot. The level of spice and oil may make sense for a dry dish, but for soup? It made it hard to slurp. Plus, the oil coated every veggie and meat that it touched. Funny enough, they also give you an extra bar of oil with the name "Supreme" on it - a nod to the super trendy brand. But unnecessary. We didn't end up touching it because - you guessed it - there was plenty of oil all over everything already! (Ask for extra napkins early on because it gets messy!) We ordered fish and sliced pork, plus a mushroom special and bok choy. If you're not familiar with hot pot, you cook or dip your raw foods in the soup to cook it fondue-style. I do appreciate how the menu suggests different cooking times for each dish. (King mushroom - 9 minutes; thin slices of pork- pretty instant). That was a win on their part. There was no guessing game if my food was undercooked! All the food was nice and tasty if you kept it in the herbal soup side. I liked the ramen, as well. The seaweed was a little too chewy for my liking and not as fresh. The waiter didn't seem the friendliest and didn't go out of their way to explain or offer recommendations. For example, who knew there was a whole separate sauce bar station? The waiter didn't even mention it throughout the whole dining experience. Shrug. Also, it took a lot of asking to get more water and napkins. I love hot pot, but was a little disappointed here. We paid a lot of money, so expected more. I thought their house bone broth was good but if i go back I'll order something with a little more flavor. I wish they labeled the buffet better. The sauce bar was located right across from our table - although not as many options for sauce mixing as I've seen at other places - it was enough to make a tasty concoction to dip your meats in. Service was good and quick. The way it worked here, once you're ready to order - you scan the QR code that is linked to your table so the food is ordered directly from your phone and brought out extremely quickly once you push it through. For the most part, food was good but def some of the options we ordered were just ok. Squid was super hard and sausage tasted a bit strange.
