    Bostan special Lagmen 过油肉拌面
    Eva L.

Sunday evening dinner with some friends. Parking lot is small but plenty for the three stores here. I was able to easily find parking for dinner at 6:30/7PM. Quaint shop with good Uyghur food. I ordered the bosan lagman which was good, but if I had to choose again, I'd probably go with the dry fried noodles that my friend ordered. The lagman came out and there wasn't really explanation of how I was supposed to eat it. It's came in two separate bowls and was a little oily. They did give me some spicy chili oil which helped bring out a bit more flavor. For the price, it was a pretty good deal and very filling. Overall quaint shop and great to support local. The service was good, a little late on one of my friend's dishes, but that's likely due to a huge birthday party that had come in around the same time.

Our family of 4 visited here for a Sunday brunch at 11:30am in mid-October 2025. We very much enjoyed our dining experience by sampling a few dishes that were surprising and outstanding. Our top 4 favorites were: (1) The Cold Skin Noodles, simple but packed with flavor once you mix it up with chili oil. (2) Samsa - the pastry reminded us of phyllo dough and the meat was delightful. (3) Lagmen Noodles - this is a traditional Uyghur dish that is quite filling. The long noodles are difficult to scoop into separate bowls (if you're eating family style). (4) the Eggplant Salad - which is not a salad at all. Service was friendly in a cozy setting - most tables are setup for parties of 2-4 customers. Parking spaces are available but shared with a 7-11 and other stores. We hope to return soon and try a few other dishes!

Above all, the food is great at Bostan. But the service needs some work, i.e. do better at making sure a table's orders come out together or at least not too far apart. Also, do better on checking up on customers during the meal. We were greeted by a friendly young woman mid-afternoon on a Saturday and seated promptly. There was only one other table occupied, but by the time we left, most of the tables were occupied. While there are wall decorations, the ambience is Spartan. For an appetizer I ordered the Samsa. This dish was two little pastries with meat fillings. The seasoning was mild but balanced. Overall, very good. JP ordered the Shepherd's salad. This was a tasty fresh salad made up of diced tomato and cucumber with a light pleasant vinaigrette dressing. For my entrée, I requested the Dry Fried Soman. Not sure what the "dry" part is, but this was a delicious dish. Loved it! Dry Fried Soman is very nice-Udon like noodles accompanied by beef, scallion, red pepper and green pepper topped with sesame seeds. The noodles and vegetables were blended together with a most excellent sauce. JP ordered lamb kebobs. They were generous on the portion size and were seasoned well and cooked to the right doneness. If you like lamb, you'll love these kebobs. One note: you place your orders at the table, but pay at the cashier at the back of the restaurnt when done eating. Despite the service quirks, the delicious and appealing food will bring us back.

Probably one of my favorite hidden gems in the nova area, especially as a repeat customer. Some of the best dishes I could recommend are the beef kabobs platter (which you can ask to have it come with rice) and the cold noodles. Prior to the management change, the style of the restaurant and food was different. I will say I'm biased in saying I liked how the food tasted before, however even now the food is still top notcb! Lovely place for a first date, family/large gatherings, or even solo :)

Friendly service, casual no-frills atmosphere, easy parking on a Sunday night as it's located in a small strip mall. Got the dry fried somen with handmade noodles, saozi noodles, and a skewer of lamb kabab. My favorite was the dry frieds somen - delicious and nice texture of the noodles. The saozi noodles were very spicy and the noodles were different- a little firmer/bouncier than other rice noodles I've had. The lamb was flavorful but a little dry and could've used more salt. The honey cake had a good flavor but was really dry. If I were back in the area I'd come back for the somen.

We had an amazing dinner here. Interior was cozy and casual. Service was very helpful and polite (answered questions about the menu thoroughly and checked with the kitchen). We ordered butter naan, vegetable gam bian soman and lagman. The naan was crispy on the outside and covered with sesame seeds. It had a chewy texture inside. The lagman white noodles came out first (heaping bowl). The vegetables and meat (beef) in sauce came out a minute later, and we mixed it into the noodles. The veggies included chives, tomatoes, Napa cabbage, peppers, onions and scallions. The beef was plentiful and tender. The sauce was smooth, savory and coated the noodles well. The noodles were springy and perfectly cooked. The entire dish had great texture and was filling (could only finish half the portion). The gam bian soman was also very good (similar noodles) but stir fried with peppers, scallions, chili and fried tofu (got vegetarian). Water was filled often and service checked in on us without being intrusive.

Visited October 2024. Small hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has an authentic feel. Everyone working there very nice. Food is just OK. Probably 3 star but bumped up a star because of the service. The kabobs are shown with 3 pieces in the picture but they are sold individually. Would highly recommend against the naan. Very dry and plain. Noodles and dumplings OK.

Good food and atmosphere. They can probably try to increase the temperature inside a little to keep the food from getting cold too soon.

As we arrived to this place, parking was limited but manageable, its shares with other businesses. As you walked in, the restaurant is clean, plenty of seats with multiple decors all throughout the restaurant. We ordered 6 items: 1) Samsa 2) Cold skin noodles 3) Lagmen 4) Eggplant salad 5) Dry Fried Soman 6) beef manta dumplings. These beef and onions stuffed baked Samsa were a delight. The batter of the pastry was mochi like that counter balance the filling. When the cold noodles arrive to the table, it was simple but yet packed with flavors. Once you mixed it around in the chili oil, your eyes will light up because it was surprisingly good. You won't be able to just take one bite. When the next dish arrive called Lagmen, it came in two parts. One bowl was the hand pulled noodles and the other was the stir fry meats and vegetables. Once incorporated the flavors came together but the noodles though.. it was one long strand so you will have to use a fork to cut it shorter when sharing with a group. If not you will be slurping one noodle for a very long time.. lol. The wok dish called Dry Fried Soman was incredibly flavorful and coats your taste buds. The manta dumplings had a thin layer of dough and the fillings were incredibly juicy. All of their noodles are hand pulled. The majority of their dishes were tapas but can be manageable when sharing with a group, so that way everyone can get a sample. Their eggplant salad wasn't a salad. It appears as sauté, oily, bland and just melts in your mouth. . The multiple servers and food runners were friendly and helpful. I would make another visit to try other items on their menu.

    Uyghur Naan (Bread)
    Chris S.

Ordered delivery for my first ever Uyghur experience. I ordered cold skin noodles, stir fried rice noodles and naan. I started with the rice noodles because the other stuff was already cold. Delicious but boy did they have a kick to them. I tried to cool off by eating a little bread between bites but eventually had to dip into the cold skin noodles, which not only are amazing on their own, but exactly what I needed to balance the heat. The naan was just ok but it is very healthy and I think it is meant to be a palate cleanser anyway. I will have to visit the restaurant to comment on the service and the atmosphere, but I loved the food and look forward to trying more.

Ordered my usual dry beef soman. With my FAVORITE SALAD. Tomatoes and cucumbers. And my other favorite lamb skewers To my happy surprise. Their prices have dropped to serve customers better !

Bostan Uyghur Cuisine This was my first time trying Uyghur food. To be honest, I'd never heard of the Uyghur population until my friend picked the place for dinner. Uyghurs are a Turkic ethnic group native to Xinjiang. Many have tried to escape the repression from the Chinese government. I know this is not a history lesson, but coming here made me want to learn more and I'd love to share what I learned because food is such an essential part of every group's culture. At first, I was very confused about pulling up to the address on my GPS. The restaurant is located next to the 7-Eleven convenience store. I walked in and a waitress waved us over. The shop has a handful of simple tables and chairs. A location that isn't a frills and thrills type of location, but one that has surprisingly amazing food. I would best describe the food as a mixture between middle eastern cuisine, chinese food, and indian food. There are momos, There are kababs or kebabs in other places you've ordered. Some noodle dishes that closely resemble lo mein, some stir-frys and stews. There is nan flatbread similar to naan from india. One of the most unique things was the Samsa, which can best be described as a cross of a spanakopita and an empanada. Overall, the food was great, the price was incredible, and the place was clean. The staff primarily just takes your order and brings it out, otherwise they leave you to enjoy the meal. We got confused, but you'll end up going to the counter to pay. Parking is a little tricky here. The parking lot is small and 7-eleven will tow if you park there.

It was my first time trying Uyghur food and this place did not disappoint. We didn't know anything about the cuisine so we pointed and ordered using the pictures on the menu. Everything was so delicious! I especially enjoyed the skewers that comes on large swords, their cold flat noodles were spicy to perfection, the eggplant was sauced and seasoned perfectly, and the flat pastry was like a meat pie and so tasty!! The service was great, and the ambiance was nice and intimate! Also, their prices were very reasonable!! 10/10 would come back again, and this time to try more items off their menu.. we tried a lot but I need more!!

Located in the busy Clarendon area of downtown Arlington this spot is quaint, cute and gets quite busy. I started with the Chilli Hoisin Duck Bao Bun which was hot, fluffy and savory. Their motto is " from bowl to soul" and this is hands down the BEST Ramen I've ever had. The Spicy Pork Szechuan ramen had so much flavor and definitely warmed my soul! The Spicy chicken broth along with the szechuan ground pork makes the dish, and the broth was rich & savory. The pork flavor was strong and the teriyaki took it up a notch. Mmmm mmm good. The ramen is very hearty but you can't stop eating it. Oh yeah the Banana Katsu with salted caramel ice cream is a great dessert to close out this meal. One of these days I will definitely try another dish but for now if it ain't broke I don't plan on fixing it!

I would ask for a booth/regular seating if you don't want to sit on the high top stools. I tried the mushroom and eggplant bao for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I could definitely eat more than two of these. The chicken katsu curry is a generous portion size and I took some home. My only note is that I would prefer more curry sauce for a more even sauce to rice ratio.

They have a decently wide variety of rolls and fish on their menu, but a select variety that you know that whatever you order, it will be top-notch. The environment is very calming and quaint in Kotobuki. Be prepared for a fair number of steps to get up to the small restaurant, but it is 110% worth it! I can't comment on the service or ambiance as this food was delivered. The portions were large. I was taken a back since the lo mein and eggplant were lunch portions, and usually you can expect a small serving, but not at this restaurant. Also, the lunch entrees came with a side of soup, which made this an even better deal (both were $13.95). While the food was delivered hot and packaged well, some of the items were great, and some fell flat due to texture issues. I really like the fried crab wontons, lo mein, and hot and sour soup. They hit the spot. I didn't enjoy the Hunan shrimp as the shrimp didn't taste fresh and had an odd texture to it. The eggplant also was overcooked so was somewhat a sloppy, dough like consistency when eating, which was kind of off putting. If returning, I would opt for the lo mein and soup.
