Their after 8pm special is elite. The quality of the sliced beef is goated and I love how they have split 2 soup base pots so we can enjoy spicy and mild soup bases. They also have a make your own sauce station and some buffet sides (fried rice, lo mein, rice, etc.). If you don't mind eating a little late, the $16.99 special for all you can eat is a steal.
This spot truly offers some of the best quality and value around. Their happy promo is unmatched and I have been back multiple times since they first launched it last year with the weekday after 8pm deal. It can get crowded inside, but it has never been intolerable. It is very well maintained and clean. Sometimes service may be slow but you will definitely be served. The cuts of meat and the wide variety of self serve hot pot options have never disappointed. The vegetables and mushrooms are always fresh and nicely prepared. I usually stick to lamb and beef, and if you are satisfied with those then go for it. The meat is consistently well balanced and never too lean or overly fatty. Just beautiful cuts. I have tried several broths including original, spicy, tomato, and pickled veggie chicken and all were exactly what you would expect and very satisfying. For such an established chain, it is impressive that it continues to get better. Recently they added more beverage options beyond the soda machine, which is already included with the dinner price, including my hot pot favorite drink, plum juice. One thing to note is that if you try to go on Fridays after 8pm, you will probably not get a seat. I went once, but the waitlist was already hours long by 7:30pm so I went elsewhere. They also have a milk pudding dessert that is very good, but not sure why it was not available the last time I visited.....
My friend is turning 30 very shortly, so a big group of us went to Happy Lamb Hot Pot this past Sunday evening to celebrate his aging. I sat with two others at a table for four and we shared a divided hot pot. We were given the menu that gave us the AYCE hot pot options, and we went with the REGULAR for $30.99 per person (weekend & holidays pricing). Since we were only here for red meat, we only tried the Natural Marbled Lamb and Hand Sliced Beef Short Plate. The lamb was slightly/moderately fatty, and the beef had more fat than meat (yikes!). For the broths, we enjoyed the original marrow and tomato. Both broths were quite flavorful and delicious. I would definitely recommend doing the split option. We cooked all the fatty meats in the tomato broth and kept the marrow broth clean for sipping purposes. For the rest of the other hot pot ingredients, we were able to go to the buffet bar and grab whatever we wanted. I enjoyed the wide glass noodles, fish cakes, quail eggs, fish filets, bean curd, fish balls with pork, napa cabbage (wish they would cut them in smaller pieces), bok choy, and all the mushrooms. The service was pretty slow (we only saw our server twice to order meat) given that there was lack of employees working. Our food started burning because we ran out of broth at one point and was unable to flag a server down to refill our pots. Our group was there for about two hours, talking and eating until we were ready to burst. At some point, we were so full and groggy from all the food we consumed that we were barely paying attention to our surroundings beyond our gluttony. One of my friends, while serving the cooked meats, accidentally placed a portion on the empty raw meat plate in front of our other friend, who simply ate it without thinking twice. It wasn't until a friend from a different table who came over, gawked in horror, and asked in complete shock, that we noticed he had been eating from the raw meat plate for the past few minutes. Woops. Overall, 3.5/5 -- the broth was flavorful and quality of meats and veggies were decent, but there's not a large variety and the service is slow/non-existent. However, for the price, I'll bump it to a 4/5. It's definitely the cheapest I've seen in the DMV area, as most places are charging at least $4-5 more. I recommend getting large orders of meats whenever the server does stop by (which is not often, and you have to chase them down). If i'm in the mood for a cheaper AYCE hot pot restaurant and don't mind slower service with the risk of our food burning, Happy Lamb Hot Pot is not a bad option.

My mom and I changed our dinner plans to visit Happy Lamb instead because $16.99 for hotpot just sounds too good to be true. There are a lot of pros and cons to this experience to name a few: Pros: - price is $16.99 for AYCE - drinks are included in price - good selection of veggies to choose from, looks fresh - hot bar items like fried rice, egg rolls, etc. - not too terrible of a wait, tables get called fast Cons: - $16.99 means only selection of meats from Classic which isn't the worst selection but there is no seafood and service for more meats is a little slow - As expected, all the self-service vegetables, noodles, and hot bar get picked through quick and it makes you want to get everything in one go (possibility of things running out when you come back) - Cramped space and depending on where you are sat you might be far from the self-service area This is opinionated, but my Vietnamese mom did not like the flavor of the broth and we did the split broth to try. She also didn't like that there was no seafood included so that is something to keep in mind bringing family that likes that kind of hotpot. If I were to come back, it would be for that happy hour only and with friends but I honestly don't mind paying the extra $ for hotpot elsewhere for a more enjoyable, less hectic experience.

We went to dinner with a group of friends not knowing that they were offering happy hour deals for AYCE! - AYCE for $14.99/person after 8pm on Monday-Friday We got half Spicy Marrow broth and half Golden Cabbage Marrow broth. The spicy broth was not spicy enough for me, but it was still very flavorful! We ordered multiple rounds of meat and picked up fresh vegetables, seafood and dessert from the food bar. I really appreciated the staff for seating us before everyone in our table arrived and the server informing us to wait a few minutes til 8pm for happy hour!
For a limited time, after 8 PM on the weekdays, they are doing their regular menu for $14.99. So we went, and got to choose a bunch of their brisket and lamb. Lots of variety but the selection gets smaller at night--they didn't have udon when we went. They make a good simple fried rice for sure and their condensed milk fried buns make for a great dessert.
Hands down the best hot pot place. You can see from how many checkins I have here. We go at least once a month. The staff is so friendly. They have new items each time we go. The meat quality is great. There are tables for small and large groups. Soda is included. Parking is easy. They even recently got a cotton candy machine.

Their famous broth is so flavourful and hearty and their meat quality is amongst best you could get for the price! They have a ton of veggie and side options. They even have endless milk tea for 5$!!! I've gone here waaaay before they started this deal but I'm so glad it's here so I can come back more often! Service was quick and efficient thanks to the wait staff esp during busy hours with the promo. The front of desk girl could've been more welcoming initially but I understand being overwhelmed by people. Ambiance is hot n steamy!! In a good PG way ahaha. We went to Happy Lamb for dinner with some friends recently for the first time. We got the yin yang sauce so we can have both spicy and not spicy soup bases. For the price, it includes some appetizers, unlimited soda, and many choices of meats and vegetables. The ambiance was okay - to be honest it is a little cramped for a hot pot restaurant. The service was forgettable. We were basically seated and left on our own. Everything is good except that the buffet area is constantly wet because the clean plates aren't wiped down, the staff just keeps stacking them as soon as they get washed. I would be okay returning but I would be very careful not slipping on the buffet area.
This was a nice place for the price. Although I've never been to a hot pot place that did not have KBBQ, this was still pretty flavorful and I still had a really great experience. It's pretty spacious in there. There are lots of good sauce and additional toppings to add to your hot pot customer service was pretty great. I will definitely be back!
Really pleasant surprise. Had never been to Eden Center and never had hot pot, so stumbled into Happy Lamb looking for an adventure. Very popular place but we were seated quickly. Everyone else seemed to know what to do. Waitstaff was kind but a little more info would have helped newbies like us. But the instructions on the menu helped. Very clean, very fresh meats, veggies. Kimchi was tasty. Very fun experience, will do some research next time so I'm better prepared but if you know what you're doing, definite check out Happy Lamb!
My friend took me here and introduced the place. It's all you can eat where you order as much meat as you want from a menu and self service for veggies and some other items. I enjoyed the freedom to get up as many times as I want and not have to choose everything at once from the start. The two broths we chose were also very flavorful so I'm very satisfied with that. This restaurant has one pot per table so if you prefer one pot per person, as some places have, or if your group can't agree on broth maybe this isn't the place. It's delicious though, reasonably priced. I'm taking off a star because there was a fly in something but they immediately took it away and apologized and everything else looked fine and tasted good so

It had been years since my last visit, and I'm so glad I decided to come back. This place was just as good as I remembered. The happy hour deals are fantastic and offer great value for the quality of the food. The service was exceptional as well. Every time we finished a plate of meat, a staff member was already there asking what we'd like to order next, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The quality of the meat and broths was excellent, and everything else, from the tofu and fresh vegetables to the sauce bar, was well-stocked and tasted fresh. You can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for delicious hot pot, outstanding service, and great value. I'm so happy that they're finally here in Eden center. The best Mongolian all you can eat hot pot. I love how you can have unlimited milk tea, there's a buffet, and sauce bar (but you do have to pay extra for that). I love the Australian Wagyu. My favorite place when I'm craving lamb. I get their premium menu and order all the lamb specials. Last time I went I got some stewed lamb spine (like oxtail) which had some lamb marrow, and their chef special was lamb belly which was so yummy. Ordered a bunch of wagyu and spring lamb off the premium menu as well. Overall def worth the price ($33 ish for dinner). I love the veggies but sometimes they don't have lotus root which is sad. Favorite broths are mala and cabbage and tomato. Broths are good but not crazy flavorful like at some places (it's a bit watered down). But still good. read more

As a party of 2, we had a disappointing experience. At the sauce, drink, seafood, vegetables, miscellaneous food lines, diners were impolite and continuously cut lines as well as performed unhygienic practices. Only one pair of tongs is given for tens of selections of foods, making cross-contamination extremely likely. We had to order meat products by asking our server directly, which was inconvenient and slow, and meat plates took 10 minutes per plate to be given to our table (12:30-2pm on Tuesday). The attached picture shows their beef, which was disproportionally fatty. The broths were not flavorful. The dining environment was mediocre as well. read more

Met up with a friend on Fourth of July of all days. If you are unaware the restaurant is located in the famous Eden Center which depending on the day can be very busy so be aware of the limited parking situation. Restaurant was nice with plenty of options you have one broth per table or can do a split broth bowl. Options include the regular meats and a premium meats section. I believe that you can get good enough selection on the regular priced side. Servers come around regularly to top up your broth if you are running low and check in if you want to order more meats. They have a grab yourself sides (including seafood noodles and veggies) as wells as a make your own sauce bar. Interior was nice for it being a small space my only complaint was their AC was either not on or not working and on a hot day eating hot food it was pretty warm inside. read more
Happy lamb is easy to find being part of the Eden center with plenty of parking. The staff are super friendly and helpful for when you have questions. It's about $30 a person or $36 for the premium meat menu. We chose the regular menu and didn't feel like we missed out on anything. If you aren't familiar with hot pot dining it is definitely something to experience. You have a pot of broth (we suggest going the one split into a spicy and regular broth) boiling at the center of your table and you get raw food brought to you that you then cook yourself in the broth before eating it. The food is limitless, you just have to ask for more and they have all the meat, vegetables, and noodle options you can think of and the meal makes for a great social experience so go with family or friends you like. It is way easier than it sounds so don't be intimidated by it. Our favorites were the shrimp balls and the pork. read more
I came here a long time ago and it wasn't all you can eat or at least it was a different type. This time, everything except the meats are self serve. The meat quality here is very good compared to all the other places I've been to. The lamb and brisket were so soft and tender- love it! Their drinks were okay and personally I'm not too impressed with their soup base. We had ordered the original pork broth or what was similar to that and the tomato- I didn't love the tomato as I didn't think it was that flavorful. They also have a cotton candy machine in the back where you could make it yourself so that was fun. Overall everything was good here and would definitely visit again! read more

We came for dinner on a Saturday night. There was no wait. We got the premium upgrade which included the waygu beef and surf clam. We got the spicy and non spicy bone broth which were both tasty. It's all you can eat with soft drinks included. The veggies were fresh. My favorite meats were the pork and beef rolls. Located in Eden center. Lots of parking. read more

Great hot pot! Broth options are all tasty, meat options were well prepared, all other ingredients are buffet style and also tasted great! Noodles, veggies, some seafood and things like beef tendon are all available, as well as house made chili sauce, green onions, etc. what I'm saying odd there are a lot of options. It did get a little warm and humid since the pots are boiling/cooking at the table, but that did not stop us from spending a good amount of time making our bowls. Awesome service as well, all our table refills were delivered quickly and with a smile! Not too cramped despite a packed house, a little bit of bottle necking at the buffet but otherwise everything else was awesome! Will be back for more! read more

Came during the $15 happy hour. For the price this really is unbeatable. You get a fairly diverse assortment of meats, veggies, and sides to choose from at the self serve bar. There are also unlimited drinks around that area as well. The broth itself actually tastes quite nice. I particularly liked the tomato base though I traditionally enjoy spicier bases. The silly tofu dessert was also really good and a great way to end the meal. The service was just ok and it would be nicer to have a tablet at the table to order meats instead of waiting for the server to come by, but otherwise no big issue. The overall ambiance was also ok, though a bit crowded and difficult to traverse considering the happy hour special attracts a lot of customers. read more

It's been a while since my last review and many things have changed here. They are now AYCE and have a sauce bar. That said, they are still the best hotpot place in nova. Get here early to get on the waitlist and prepare to wait at least 20-30 min. My advice is to take some time and walk around Eden center and take in the local culture, sights, and especially smells from all the delicious food places. My go-to is the lamb. I used to try and rotate between the lamb and pork but the lamb is just so good. Get yourself the best of both worlds so you have one side spicy and the other non-spicy. Load it down with vegetables to enhance the flavor and then the meat last since it doesn't take long at all. read more
Good value AND tasty All You Can Eat Hot Pot! I don't remember what I got, but since it's all you can eat, we just got one of everything from the menu for starters, and then ordered more of the things that we actually liked. The premium experience is only a few dollars more than the regular (~$35), so we got that one, and it was definitely worth it! I don't usually go out for hot pot but having already been out all day, we didn't have time and heard great things about this place so had to try it out. There were two selections and since we don't venture to Virginia that often, we went with the more inclusive option. Unfortunately one of the meats was not available but we still had plenty to choose from along with various veggies and seafood we could get ourselves. Going during peak dinner hours, we often had to flag down a server to place additional orders of meat. Despite all this, I would recommend people trying this place out! Definitely expect to wait a bit if you go during peak busy hours. Google said that there was no wait time for when we wanted to go but had to wait ~45 mins as we couldn't reserve ahead of time. I appreciate when other restaurants provide iPads that allow its customers to place orders to the kitchen so hopefully they'll think to incorporate this idea. read more

All you can eat is a promotion they have sometimes, but is not a standard menu choice. i.e. sometimes they do AYCE for birthdays, or weekday AYCE (limited to certain items) etc.
