This used to be a go to spot for us but we've been encountering issues the last couple of times which has been disappointing. First encounter was we walked in for lunch and was told they don't have space and that it'll be an hour wait. We looked around and 50% of the restaurant was empty. Fine whatever. We went across the street to Happy Lamb and had a good time there. Second time was tonight when we arrived just a bit before 830pm. Yelp says they close at 9pm but we were refused seating on the premise that they are closed. Not that they care but this is definitely no longer a favorite...we used to come pretty often and we're usually in and out with 30min. We have our go to order and are pretty efficient in finishing our food, paying, and being on our way. We have a Pho 75 that is down the street from where we live within walking distance and may need to revert back to that. We had liked the eden center one initially and it offered a fun little area to walk off our meal before heading home or we could buy groceries nearby but it's more important to me to be able to eat as planned. read more

I previously had a bad experience here during Covid but I think they had significantly improved since which I appreciate because they listen to feedback. So I'm updating my review because it's well deserved! I have started ordering from Hai Duong through Uber Eats again in the last year and so much improvement! The food arrives fast, hot, and with very generous portions. They are definitely not stingy like I had experienced in the past. I love it when businesses take feedback to be better. In the last year, we usually order the Mi Nam Vang and Mi Bo Kho, and both are consistently excellent. This past weekend, we finally decided to eat at the restaurant in person at Eden Center, and it was just as good as when we order delivery. The guy seating people was very polite and friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Bun Mam and Mi Nam Vang, and both were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and came out super hot, which I love. There are plenty of condiments on the table if needed, but honestly the broth is so flavorful that you do not really need them. They also give a great portion of protein, which I really appreciate. The place was packed and clearly very popular, and I can see why. Tucked away within the all the shops and restaurants in Eden Center, this restaurant is located in the building right at the entrance off Wilson Blvd. For lunch time on Sunday, every seat was taken. However, the turnover was pretty quick and we were seated within 5 minutes. Once seated, there was a delay in service, but they were very generous and apologetic for the wait, which was not an issue at all. We ordered the Bò Lúc Lắc, plain pho, and Chả Giò, which came out within minutes. The pho broth was tasty and delicious and did not require any additional flavoring. Some of the best pho I have had in the area!!! A close call with my favorite spot- or perhaps even a tie... :D I think about this place and want to return often. As is with many places in the Eden Center, this is clearly a small-family owned business. Cute, clean, simple! Easy and fast service. Although it says "cash only" in some areas of the restaurant (they should remove these signs), *you can actually use card as well.* One note- as a gluten free diner, it is not clear here what is gluten free. I took an educated guess (I'm not sure the staff knew what I meant when I asked about GF) as most pho is GF, but honestly I would have felt more comfortable if things were labeled or the staff knew what GF was - this is the only reason I have 4 stars, so if you're not gluten free, no worries for you! read more

If you're in the Eden center area definitely check out this place. It is located in the shopping center closest to the main road and it is one of the first stalls when you first walk in. The restaurant is fairly big so if you have larger parties, I'm sure they will be able to accommodate . The service was very pleasant. They were prompt to get your order and the food came out no later than 10 to 15 minutes. They do also have a large parking lot that is shared across the shopping center, so there's no need to worry about any street parking or walking too far. We ordered the summer roll and the spring roll and both were very delicious and very full of toppings. We then ordered an egg noodle dish, which was also very delicious and the serving of vegetables and meats were very generous, not to mention the size of the vegetable pieces. Let's be rieu - you can get pho literally anywhere in the world, but dishes like Bun Rieu and Bun Mam are relatively rare Vietnamese gems that you're not going to find anywhere else in the DMV (certainly not DC, I've looked). Bun Rieu here is likely a light pork broth with some tomatoes, and a slew of proteins (pork bone, cha, crab meat, even a blood cube). You get a good amount of meat which is delicious on top of vermicelli noodles. They give you a little sauce to pour on it. Located in the Eden shopping center, the parking lot is large but can be very busy! The shop itself is a little tight and they do not allow strollers. I had my baby in an infant carrier on the floor and one of the employees told me to place him on the table for safety...but then told me no put him in the chair...so I was a little off put by that beginning situation. I opted for the #63: Chao Vit ($16.95), a Vietnamese duck rice soup that's essentially a savory congee with a deeply flavorful broth. It's served with a side plate of duck salad: tender pieces of dark and light meat on the bone, laid over a crisp, refreshing salad dressed in a tangy vinegar-based sauce. Everything was prepared and put in a box uncooked except the shrimp and soup were seasoned perfectly! You would cook everything at home so everything stayed fresh! A bit of work but it's fine! Every time I've walked by Hai Duong the place has always been buzzing with activity, but never too crazy. We were grocery shopping at Eden center and decided to stop in for lunch. There was plenty of seating and the tables had selfservice chopsticks, spoons, and condiments already, which we liked. We ordered tea, spring rolls, Bun Cha Hanoi, and a vermicelli bowl with spring rolls, grilled pork, shrimp and pork skin. The food was delicious. Our favorite was the spring rolls which were probably the best we've had since we visited Vietnam a few years ago and were the most authentic - unlike a lot of Vietnamese restaurants, they wrapped their spring rolls in rice paper like they do in vietnam which adds a unique texture and crunch to the dish. The service was quick and friendly. You pay at the counter once you're done with your meal and despite the signs indicating that you must pay in cash, they do take cards. This place is where I take all my friends who never had Vietnamese food (besides Pho). Hai Duong is the gateway to Vietnamese cuisine. They have a variety of popular dishes and soups. I would always order the roasted quail to impress my guests. My go-to soup is the Bun Mang Vit (noodles w/ bamboo shoots and duck) or the Bun Bo Hue. Are they the best versions? I wouldn't say so, I've had better at other places that specializes in each bowls. One thing for sure, it's consistently good. My parents swear by this spot for Vietnamese food in 7 corners (Eden center). I'm happy to say I was very satisfied and delighted with all of the food we got! We all shared cha gio /fried spring rolls with pork, shrimp, vermicelli as appetizer. You must try these fried spring rolls. The wrapper is perfect texture and super addicting and don't say I didn't warn you! We waited maybe 5-7 minutes for food which was good surprise because I was starving. Me and the hubby ordered the beef pho with flank and Bo luc lac. I dropped my phone in my pho before I got to take a picture (shame!) but it was delicious. I started eating asap and didn't get another photo attempt before it was gone. The broth was tasty and dirty! Only the best way to enjoy it. Very disappointed and horrible dinning experience here! Because of the all the GOOD REVIEWS , our family and friends decided to take our lunch here. 4 of us came in 1st and told the male employee that we are total of 10. He told us to sat on middle sections with a long tables. While our friends were looking for their parking spot, suddenly I noticed our table had another party if 4 just sat down. I immediately noticed the same male employee, he denied we did not tell him we are 10 people, he told the other party " You sit!" And looked at us " You guys need to move." But we were still move to another table at the back even though we were shocked, because we don't want to argue with him. The same male employee, he was totally not welcome us, very rude and arrogant. Our friend asked for a small bowl for her kids, he rolled his eyes and turned around. When we almost finish, her husband asked to order an ice coffee to go, he told the husband you should go to the cashier, order then pay the bill. Then he looked at me, if you finish, you go to pay and wait outside. I understood the restaurant was busy, maybe you were not in the mood, if you talk to us politely instead of rushing tons with that attitude, will it be better? Don't have to treated your customers like this, just because we are not local?! We are tourists?! This place is known for their noodles soups. They do a very nice clear broth which shows they make it from scratch. The soups I've had that have been good include their pho, hu tieu, and BBH They are the only restaurant in Eden Center that does a proper Bun Cha Hanoi. They have both the grilled pork n pork patties. The other places only do grilled pork. They don't have a lot of interesting appetizer options other than the usual options but it would be nice if they can add some street food as appetizers like banh beo, banh it, etc... We tried their banh xeo last time there's definitely better ones at other restaurants but it wasn't bad. I probably won't get it again here though. read more

It was a cold evening after our Zoo adventure and we pho this place by chance. Usually if the place is packed then it's a sign it's good. The restaurant didn't have any space room because when we were seated, we were so close to other customers tables that it was hard to be seated and not bump into them to be seated or even take off your jacket. My pho was lack of flavor and has an after taste. My brother in law got their signature special chicken rice plate and if you look at the picture, it's more like he got a plate with nothing but bone with little meat. He left hungry! My sister got their BBH and she says it's flavorless and just spicy. Overall we didn't enjoy our meals but to each their own. read more

Really great Vietnamese restaurant!! I ate here with several friends. I'm appreciative of the fair prices and the great quality of food. We shared an appetizer of Chai Gio (crispy spring rolls), which were delicious. Everyone ordered a different broth - I enjoyed the Mi Tiu Tom Thit (#54 on the menu). It is different from pho broth, more salty in my opinion. I in the mood to have some seafood in my broth, so I enjoyed having shrimp and pork. There's so many great menu options, depending if you're feeling a noodle dish (rice or egg noodle), soup-based dish, rice dish, and all types of protein. Food comes out quick, and service overall is very fast and efficient. Great with water refills, and took our orders very soon after we seated. Ambiance is very casual restaurant. 7/30/23 Today I ordered #26-Banh Xeo (Vietnamese golden crêpe) and 3 orders of the #3-Cha Gia (aka Crispy Spring Rolls).   There is a certain look to the Crispy Spring Rolls I had in mind and several of them I saw had the golden brown look, but not the style I had in mind. I have been to Hai Duong before and my wife has too. We were here before and the experience we had here was pleasant.   The owner of the restaurant remembered us from years of absence.  Nevertheless, he greeted us warmly and I also had the strong feeling the Crispy Spring Rolls would still be made in the style I was looking for. My hunch turned out to be correct. The Crispy Spring Rolls were delicious. This restaurant is absolutely ridiculous. I used to come here occasionally, but after today, never again. Because it was cold outside, I ordered two cups of hot tea. To my surprise, they charged $1 per cup! Hot tea is a staple in Asian restaurants--since when did we start paying extra for something so basic?
