I had just happened onto a 22 year old 1990 miata with very low mileage. All used cars have some problems to work through and this one was no different. The rag top's rear window had begun to separate from all of that time spent sitting in a garage. Jow was just wonderful in helping to repair it very effectively where others wanted to replace the entire top at much higher cost. He is a stand-up guy and you are likely to be pleased if you choose to do business with him. The work was first rate and my vintage miata is well on its way to being in shape again. Supreme Interiors saved my couch after my dog shredded the cushion, and they did for a lot cheaper than it should have cost. Not only did my dog rip about a quarter of the foam out of the cushion, he shredded the back of fabric lining. To replace the foam and hand-sew the fabric back together would have been well over a hundred dollars, which was way more than I could afford. Supreme Interiors offered to rebuild the foam for less than half that. They even sent the cushion to their son at Upholstery Pros (I reviewed them too), who did an excellent job of sewing the fabric back together. Between the father and son tag-team, I've got a resurrected couch cushion that is so plush and perfect that it makes the rest of the couch look shabby. And they did it in less than a week! The folks here are also super nice, and happy to sit and chat for awhile. I brought my dog with me, and they loved on him too (not surprising, since he was the one bringing in the business). One note: they are pretty much cash only, and the owner really likes ones. Fortunately, they were really clear about that in advance, so it wasn't a problem. read more

I repaired a leather recliner with Joe of Supreme Interiors (in conjunction with Frankie at Prime Interiors). The arms of the recliner were badly scratched and the bottom corner was chewed down to the frame. Their work was extraordinary, it was such a clean job my first thought was that they had reupholstered the whole chair! They had in fact repaired it to what appeared to be new condition. I had Supreme Interiors reupholster two sets of chairs -- an old wrought iron patio set we inherited from my husband's grandparents and an old kitchen set we bought at a flea market 25 years ago. Judy and Joe are very helpful and aided me in finding the best materials for each job. When I found some vinyl that wouldn't hold up in the sun for the outdoor set, Joe steered me toward something that would. The chairs all came out looking great. My wife and I recently bought a car with a split seam in the leather seat, knowing we could get it fixed. We took it two 3 different upholstery places nearby to get repair quotes, and Joseph at Supreme Interiors was the only one who really came off as a straight shooter. The other two places kind of looked at it and said well it could be this much or it could be twice ans much (some quote, huh?). But at Supreme Interiors, we were given a solid price, and on top of that, he explained exactly what he would do to reinforce the area, and check the surrounding seams. Well, after that it was an easy decision. We arranged a drop off a couple days out and the work was done that day. These guys reupholstered my motorcycle seat and a piano chair. The motorcycle seat had very unusual material on it - custom made years ago. Two great experiences with Supreme. We brought in a worn and ugly antique couch and got a great price for the reupholstering. Not only that but it came back with the woodwork looking like new and solid legs where they had been wobbly before. Not sure where to begin, as Joe and Judy were so great from start to finish and the work was impeccable. They recovered two club chairs and a captain's chair for us, both in leather. We used recycled leather, on their suggestion, which is something like 4x as tough as hide leather at 1/3 the price. They look beautiful, down to the last details. And the captain's chair had a split leather seat and broken caning underneath. They replaced the leather seat, restuffed it, and because they couldn't fix the caning, Joe attached a piece of kevlar to hold it up--and backed it with a piece of cloth the color of the caning, so you couldn't see it. THEY DIDN'T CHARGE US ANYTHING FOR THIS CHAIR. Plus, they're genuinely pleasant, courteous local business owners. We're bringing them the couch next. Great folks, great quality work. read more

Had dining chairs that needed re-upholstering. I bought my own fabric. Called and was quoted an average price of $35-55 per chair over the phone. Then I emailed a photo of the chair to Supreme Interiors and was quoted $75 per chair for new seats and back by Judy. Dropped off the chairs and fabric and was told by Judy that the price went up to over $200 per chair! This was the highest quote of 4 different local re-upholstery places that I had contacted and I even brought the chairs in for the quotes! I took the chairs back from Supreme Interiors. Tony at Bay City Upholstery Supply of Oakland did a great job on my chairs for $105 per chair. read more

This is my second review of Supreme Interiors. I wrote one in 2017 when Joe and Judy did work on my leather Eames foot stool. This month in January 2020, I asked them to redo the matching chair. Its a 60 year old antique bought by my parents shortly after this mid-century museum item became available to the public. Joe knew exactly what to do to maintain its antique quality but updating the leather with beautiful natural cowhide and repairing the fasteners for the arms, one of which was broken and the other was about to break. They are the most gracious professionals, as we worked through on the phone the various issues, including adding more padding to the lost down padding from the original. We have a twin chair which hasn't been used as much, so isn't quite ready for an overhaul, but we will be sure to return when its time comes. Their high quality work is not cheap, nor should it be. We are paying for the best! read more

In September we took our old (2-300 hundred years old) carved wood arm chair to Joe and Judy Michaels for reupholstery and general maintenance. Last fix up on this family heirloom was in the Fifties: the chair was a horror, and we were very anxious about what would happen to it. Must say though, these folks were a pleasure to work with and the results couldn't be better! Joe spent a lot of time with us, working out our options, choosing materials, and then had the good sense too to let us digest everything before getting to work on it so we were sure it would be right (we finally took his advice and are very glad we did). Our new old chair is fabulous! I did go on-line to find the perfect upholstery nails as he didn't have what I liked in the shop, but he supported the effort and used and praised what I found. Working with this shop is as good as it gets. Can't say the job was cheap though, but you do get what you pay for. Judy sent us pictures via email as they tore our chair down and began repairs (turns out the chair was probably in a flood, we suspect the early 1900s so-called Great Flood in SW Ohio) so we could see what they were doing. They saved the old hand made nails they found (which we kept) and returned to us a modern miracle. In the process Judy even rechristened our chair from the old "torture chair" (because it was so ugly and so lumpy) to "the throne." Thank you, guys. And good luck too in your struggles with Caltrans, to retain the on-street parking that makes this excellent small Oakland business possible. There really should be an alternative to building sound walls along 880 that block your front door! So, Yelpers, when you go--do first check to make sure Supreme Interiors is still where it should be, easily reached from Fruitvale near the intersection with 880, the shop with the gorilla out front. They do a lot more than car seats. read more

Glad I found Supreme Interiors. We had a set of six Danish dining room chairs we got as a wedding gift. After 25 years the upholstered seats and backs needed to be replaced. Joe and Judy did a great job. They are fast, helpful, very nice and very reasonably priced. I cannot say enough good things about working with Joe and Judy from Supreme Interiors. We needed to have a reformer, which is a very specialized piece of Pilates' equipment re-upholstered. This is no easy feat due to all the intricate angles as well as it must be fitted to withstand daily wear and tear. Joe did a magnificent job on both the reformer as well as several other small pieces. It looks like new and in fact one of our clients thought we had purchased a new one. Their service is impeccable, right down to timely return of calls as well as delivery of our goods. We were working with a very tight turn-around and they totally honored this with a high quality job. I highly recommend them to other Pilates' studios for repairs as well as any other businesses in need of professional equipment upholstery. I had bought 3 old (or "vintage" as they say) wooden dining chairs at a garage sale on the cheap because I loved the woodwork, knowing I would need to get the seats reupholstered. After already purchasing my fabric, I went to the closest furniture store and asked how much it would cost to reupholster the seats (simple detachable wooden seats with some foam and the fabric wrapped around). Now I don't want to insult anyone's professional craftsmanship and maybe it was some sort of living in Berkeley tax, but I was quoted $100/seat!!! After calling a few other places and getting quotes in the $60-$80 range per seat, I finally found Supreme on Yelp and I'm SOOO happy I did. The woman on the phone was so nice and professional, agreed that $60-$100 per seat was ridiculous and was able to quote me a much more reasonable $45 per over the phone. I brought my seats down to their shop around 1pm and the transaction was so simple--it turned out to be even cheaper than she had quoted me after looking at what needed to be done and how often does that happen?! It was a Friday and they even finished the seats same-day because I had mentioned I was having people over the following Tuesday. The workmanship was great, the seats are super comfortable to sit on (they added extra foam) and my chairs look amazing!! Thank you so much! read more

We have (what seems to me to be) a complicated set of cushions. They've got piping that surrounds the top, but curves in and out to follow the contours of the chair back. I contacted several shops to get quotes. Supreme responded very quickly, understandably and informatively. The numbers were reasonable, and at the low end of the several responses. I headed over, chose the fabric I wanted from their extensive sample supply, and was told the work would be done in 7-10 days. It was! Great service, firm quote, excellent work. We had a great experience here, it was very reasonable (Joe gave us the option of removing the old leather and staples ourselves, which was time consuming but easy. This saved us a lot of money). Yes, this shop is as good as it gets! I had Joe and his team put new seat covers and a new top on my Toyota MR2 about six months ago after having it vandalized (for the third time). This time the insurance company totaled it out, so I bought it back from them and had the guys at Supreme Interiors do the work. It is absolutely better than new. Great job, excellent price and service. I brought in my SUV for a small repair on a seat this morning and (finding this rather hard to believe these days) told me he could do it no problem, but he has a guy with a mobile repair facility that he would recommend that could fix it better and quicker than he could! Amazing. So he gave Frankie a call and sure enough, he came out and did the repair on the spot and you could never tell there was ever a small rip. And yes, I'll be writing a review for Frankie as well. I would even be more than happy to show anyone the work these guys did. My dog pushes his feet against the vinyl on the rear seat to boost himself into the car and after ten years, it was shredded. Joe's crew removed the back seat so that I could drive away and replaced the torn material with a heavier gauge vinyl whcih looks better than new - all for $90.00, including installation of a new steering wheel cover at no charge. Recently had 8 dining chair seats and a small ottoman reupholstered. I purchased the fabric. Best price quoted for the job from several companies. The project was completed very quickly. This was a wonderful surprise. I had a small problem. I had requested that the screw holes on the bottoms of the seats be left open so my husband could re-attach the seats to the chairs. Brought the seats home and discovered the screw holes were nowhere to be seen. Called Judy, and we discussed various options, and while I was on hold, she gathered her workers together and actually came over to my house, where the guys proceeded not only to find the screw holes, but re-attached the seats to the chairs right then and there. Wow! That made me very happy. And had a nice chat with Judy while we waited for the work to be completed. That is good very good customer service, to correct this mistake so quickly and cheerfully. read more

Basically, I hesitate to state how good these folks really are because I don't want it to get more difficult for me to get in. I brought then a challenging auto upholstery job that had been essentially rejected by others as "too difficult" and time consuming. Joe, the main guy there. took the time to explain the options available and helped me make the right decision that made most financial sense for me. In the end, the work was perfect and flawless in every way, they really went the extra mile in attention to details. I will definitely be returning to them. Nice folks too, which counts for a lot. I just had a great experience at Sureme Interiors. I tried them based on good yelp reviews and after having had problems with Kay Upholstery. Supreme is the best! I had six old dining room chairs that needed re-upholstering. Judy in the front office was extremely friendly and patient in helping me look at fabrics and pick samples to take home. Joe, the owner, quoted me a great price on the chairs and said it would take 4 or 5 business days after the fabric arrived for the job to be done. About a week later I got a call that there was a delay with the UPS delivery of the fabric. It came in a few days later and they worked to get the job done in one day to make up for the delay, even though it wasn't their fault. Very old school sense of pride and service. The upholstery work is perfect, and they shined up the chairs and added some extra foam at no extra cost, again to make up for a delay that wasn't even their fault. For future reference, they have something like 6,000 fabrics in stock, which would make for an even faster turn around time if you choose one of them. This company gets the highest rating from me! read more
