This review was going to be a one star review, however it turned into a five star review based on what happened at the end with Rick and his installer Jose. My story : I looked in craigslist and called a few window places, I got multiple quotes and everyone claimed to be the best, cheapest and great work, bla bla bla. Rick was one of the people I called and he first appealed to me since he said he was the manufacturer and would like to come on a Sunday and show me the window. I was wondering wow, someone wants to show me the windows on a Sunday, so it must be true, he must be the owner and he must really care about his customers. So Sunday came and he came as promised and showed me the windows. I was very impressed in how truthful he was when he said most of the window manufacturers have the same type of windows and his differed because it has the rubber inside and the metal balls instead of plastic. He did not say it was the best top of the line windows that were super unique, though it really was superior to the competition. He was very humble, caring and showed me how his windows were different. He did not pressure me like other sales people and said, if I wanted to go with him let him know. So I said Yes right away since I felt comfortable and was not pressured. He measured the windows and said said okay they will be made in the factory and he will let me know when the install is ready. He also said they were busy and it would be a couple of weeks before I was called. During this time, I had the measurements of the windows, however he said he does not need it since his measurements were accurate. He also did not charge me a deposit since he trusted me, which meant a lot to me since I love working with people who trust me. I was supper happy at this time and even recommended him to my father in law. He also gave me two free windows because of this recommendation! I was super happy at this point The Bad: Time went by and two weeks passed, I called Rick, he picked up and said the windows are not ready yet and they are busy. I asked him when it would be ready and he said in another week. A week passed by and I was getting frustrated since I felt like he did not care about my business. So I called and he said give him another week and they will be ready. So another week passed by and he said they are finally ready and he will send Jose to schedule an install. I scheduled an install for a Friday and he said the installer will be here at 12pm. The very bad: Friday comes, I took a day off and I was waiting for the installer. I removed some of the windows in anticipation of the installer coming. I wanted to help the installer since Rick said he can help me with some windows for free since I only paid for 4 windows to be installed. The installer did not show up and it was 3pm. I called Rick in anger and said " Your installer did not come and I have been waiting and took a day off" he said he will call the installer and let me know. So he called back and said the installer is on their way. So I was still frustrated, but waited for the installer. Its 5pm now and I called Rick, your installer is still not here! he said he will call again and find out. Then he did not call back so I called him and said where is the installer. He said sorry the installer got stuck in another job and would not be able to come. I was furious! since my windows was removed and I have to put it back. I said no that will not work, can he come and at least do the window that I removed. Rick called the installer and finally the installer shows up at 7 pm. He said he will work till sunset and finish the windows. I was so tired and frustrated, however still revealed since I am finally getting my windows done after a month of waiting! The worst news: The installer Jose, came and said sorry he was over scheduled and was not able to meet the appointment on time, but he will take care of the install. So Jose started installing the windows and OMG!! the measurements were wrong!!! Only 3 of the 12 windows fit!!! I was furious beyond belief! Can you believe it. I waited for a month and took down my windows, took a day off and then waited till 7 pm and they do not fit!! I was going insane and rick said yep this happens alot and Rick does not measure the windows correctly sometimes which triggers Jose to always deal with customers who are mad. Yelp had a word limit so I am forced to shorten the review thus I am leaving out some details. The very good: ( This is what changed a 1 star experience into a 5 star experience), unfortunately my during this period of time my father in law went with another windows company after hearing my experience. He spent 18K! Finally Rick and Jose Took care of everything and gave me an amazing deal. After another day of incorrect scheduling and a hostile conversation on how I was taking advantage of Jose, Rick scheduled another install for a Tuesday. An amazing job was done as promised! I was referred by my neighbor who had her windows replaced by Rick and his team. He came highly recommended by her and I can see why. Rick and his team did a great job. Rick's associate, Jose, showed up as scheduled to measure my windows and walk me through what to expect in the process. Rick was also very responsive when I would call or text with questions. The windows were ordered and ready in 2 weeks. Jose, who did the initial measurements, came back to do the installation. Rick provided me with the timeframe for start to finish to install my 13 windows. The team showed up on time and completed the job as scheduled. If you choose not to call SureGuard, you will make an incorrect decision with another company. I'll explain more, I had at least 4 estimates from different companies as I was researching windows. Since money was and is tight, I decided to only have 6 windows replaced. As I was getting quotes, it came very apparent that all the people giving estimates are professional sales people. What does that mean? Usually they have a 2+ hour window to convince you to buy, so highly high and uncomfortable situation. Think like you're attending a time share. Remember, actual measurements take about 15 minutes, the rest is talking. The worse experience was Renewal by Anderson, it's a complete scam. I don't want to spend time talking about other companies, because they are not relevant. My mind was set in Milgard windows because I was familiar with them and I love the quality. Matter of fact just had a Milgard window installed in a different house for a bathroom remodel, didn't know about SureGuard at this time. I was skeptical having another quote, especially when everyone says 'We are the factory'. I was burned out and going to give up, but these guys ARE the factory. I was very impressed with the sample and it felt similar to Milgard quality, but on further inspection, I noticed better seals, thicker felt, thicker plastic and real metal rollers, not plastic in Milgard. The owner was present with his son and actually listened to my 6 window request. He then said, do you have 4 more as we have a 10 window deal going on, yeah I heard that before and it's never a 'deal'. I showed him four more windows, which I wanted to get done anyway AND the price was given. I was waiting for the pressure upscale, but these gentlemen are straight forward with no scam or deceitful motive. They also recommend to replace the slider as it could barely open up and it was priced correctly and installed great. The price given was extremely fair and I know the money goes to the company, not a salesman, this is important, because it appears they want their customers happy, not just a closed sale and move to the next person. Actually their price blew everyone out of the water and with this quality? Just happy as can be. I had a few custom sizes which needed to be built, so it took a little longer, but it's ok as I was in no rush. I'm sure they could've built them quicker if I mentioned it, but again, I had patience. As for the windows, I highly recommend SureGuard and I guarantee that you will be impressed. They will be the company I recommend when people ask about our new windows. ***Note, I also recommend a triple pain in the Master bedroom or other rooms that have noise issues. The standard window works great, but triple pain is amazing and can still open and close with your pinky. ***Another note, stay away from grids and if your house is light color painted think about almond colored windows, they look great. So getting back to my initial statement, you will be duped if you DON'T go with SureGuard, I know from experience by having multiple salesman try their best to convince me to sign a contract. I found this place through the Penny Saver of all places. I was shopping around for energy efficient windows, since my house needed them badly. I called and spoke with Rick. He came by my house and looked at my windows and gave me an estimate. I had 5 other estimates and Rick gave me the best estimate. I called Rick and told him that I wanted to go with him. Rick came out to my house again to obtain measurements. I got a phone call from his receptionist, Carly to schedule a date for installation and within 3 weeks I got brand new spanking windows. The day of installation, there was a 2 man crew that arrived. My windows are original and it was pretty tough to take out, and the workers tried to do minimal damage as possible, but it was inevitable for an old house. I had 7 windows and a patio door replaced and I have abnormally large windows. The installers were there for almost 8 hours working with very little break. The guys cleaned up after themselves and were very meticulous. Rick has a factory and he makes his own windows. The brand is Anamar. Also, if you have damaged stucco or chipped paint prior to or after installation, then they're not responsible for it. They don't do do patch work. Overall, I'm really happy with my new windows. Terrible experience with this company. Rick did measurements, quoted a fair price, we paid our 50% deposit. Then the problems began. He returned 3 more times to remeasure. On the night before they were supposed to install he called to tell us there was a problem. Apparently Rick suddenly discovered our slider door glass was too thin 1/8" and it should be 3/16". This would require a complete door frame replacement. Tack on another $1,600 for 2 doors and we would have doubled the original quote for the job. Add to this the fact that Rick can never be reached unless he wants to talk to you, broken promises, delays, and an unprofessional lack of knowledge, and you've got a really lousy dealer. Discriminating company! I had questions about their services and decided to give a call, they answered the phone and I wasn't sure what they said so I decided to respond in Spanish. When I responded in Spanish I heard that the person on the other line hung up the phone. I was like ok wtf so I decided to call back and when they answered they said the same thing and so I asked do you speak Spanish or English then the man said English so I then told him you should of said that instead of hanging up the phone like that!! His response was "mmhmm" so then I told him if this is your attitude then I don't want your service and hung up. I purchased 15 sliding, double paned windows from Sureguard about 8 years ago and they still look and function amazing! While cleaning them recently I noticed that the tabs on many of the screens were corroded due to the salt air (we live within 1 mile of the ocean). So I called Rick to see how I could go about fixing them and he offered to pick them up the very next day and replace them for FREE! What?!? Sure enough, he arrived exactly when he said he would and returned the brand new screens to me within 24 hours -- AMAZING! If you develop a water leak around your window, His son will examine the caulking and say " no holes in the caulk your house, building etc has a leak". Then they will leave, they told me they saw 15 jobs with leaks and all were the house. Really? I went outside and felt on the sides and found 6 holes I took pictures and does Rick say he's sorry? NO.. 2. Rick himself and his measured my windows and of course got the measurements wrong!!! so my windows are the wrong size love his Customer Happy slogan.. So much more but why waste your time, do what you want but I'd be very careful... We had all of our windows and our back sliding door done by this company, and they're AWESOME! Rick and his workers were so fast and efficient, I loved it. A couple months after getting everything done, our sliding door handle got loose and completely fell off which meant that we couldn't safely lock our house and our back door is our main way of entrance. I called Rick and BAM he said he could come in the next morning and fix it for us with completely new handle pieces, no charge. I was thoroughly impressed! It was around the holidays too!!! Not only are Rick and his workers efficient workers, but they're honest too. My mother accidentally dropped a $100 bill on the floor and wasn't even aware it was missing, but one of the workers picked it up and returned it to us. Definitely got bonus brownie points there for honesty :) They not only do an amazing job, but they're also great people who really care and are willing to completely satisfy their customers. I found this company at a home show. I was looking for a company that would put a dog door in a patio door and they had a sample at the show! But I decided to do my research and had hoe quotes of 2 other window providers at the show. Sureguard had the best prices and they were the most accommodating. Rick's workers installed 5 windows into my condo yesterday. One of the really big windows was incorrectly manufactured and so the window didn't look right. Since I'm in a condo the HOA Board is very picky about the look of the windows. Rick had a new window made that day and had it installed the very next day. Rick came out himself and measured our windows and gave great suggestions on which side the windows should open based on what made sense for the room. He also suggested a raindrop glass for privacy purposes for a large side window that looked into our neighbors house. It looks amazing and offers the privacy that we needed. He delivered the windows when he said he would and his installers did a quality job on installation. We've had several rains since the windows were installed and we are so happy with our new window. Dishonest people. Stay away. They installed my window and promised to install a new screen door slider. On the day they were installing the screen, they realized they made it too small and said they would come back and install the correctly sized screen then next week. It's 4 weeks later and no screen. I've called and talked to the Rick the owner and he says he'll take care of it, but never has. I've called him at least 5 times since and every time he asks my for my phone number and address as if that was what he needed to complete the installation. He said the screen was ready and going to be installed the following Saturday but they never showed up. Now he is saying they need to come out and measure the glass door so they can build? So basically he was lying to me? They never return my calls after saying they will "call you tomorrow". Every time the owner Rick answers the phone he says he'll take care of it and then he never calls me or back or does anything. We paid in full and they have not fulfilled the terms of the contract. They give me every excuse in the book as to why they are delayed. The window is nice but it does not open from left to right as we requested. They got it backwards, but they say we that's what we told them. Hardly. Do not do business with these people. read more

We have now spent lots and lots of money with Sureguard, and i am referring them to friends and family! Rick came out to check my sliding doors that needed to be replaced, and was able to squeeze us in, in just over a week for the actual installation. We were super impressed with the professionalism of the crew, and our doors and windows look great... and Rick is very easy to work with. My only hesitation is that our second installation (again, we were so impressed with the quality and the fairness of the price the first time around...) was a little sloppier. The crew took down blinds and kind of haphazardly left them on the floor, and furniture that had been moved was not replaced to where it had been. There was some trash left as well. Nothing major... but it was different than our first experience. Overall, i would still recommend, and we will be calling Rick to finish our window needs! read more

Terrible service. I ordered a custom dog door for my slider. They came out and measured everything and said they placed the order. I spoke to Rick several times who didn't know the status of the order. I called last week and Rick said everything was ready and scheduled delivery today at 11am. After no one showed up I called again and was told they still need to measure the thickness of the glass. So now I have nothing and it's been six weeks. Regardless, I find it amusing that I called and called AND wrote letters when we had these installed ALMOST THREE YEARS AGO and NO one ever responded. In 2008 I contracted Sureguard Windows to replace all the windows in my home (24 total) and 1 sliding door. The installation was quick and the results were noticed immediately. Living in Corona keeping the house cool is always a major issue. With the new windows we are able to keep the house several degrees cooler during the heat of the day putting less strain on the A/C. To top it off they truly stand by their product and workmanship. I recently had a window crack and Sureguard came out and replace the window, no questions asked, under their warranty. I shopped around with 6 other companies and no one could beat Ricks price or was able to do the things that he did for me like taking the grids out of my 2 new construction windows and framing those two windows to make them match the rest of the new windows that they installed.
