We had our windows replaced by LMR Windows and Glass Doors last week. I contacted several window companies in the area and had 7 bids for the project. As many homeowners will realize, there are a few things to consider when replacing windows. Some companies will take their measurements and give an old fashioned sales pitch. Luis at LMR Windows is straightforward and earnest with his estimate, I did not feel pressured by him and could tell that he is glad to help prospective customers. After a couple of phone conversations and 2 visits to my home to review the project/measure the windows, I settled on Luis' bid. He offered fair pricing (competitive when compared against other companies in the area). Throughout the process, Luis provided periodic updates on the status of the window order and once the window manufacture completion date was confirmed, he offered quick availability for installation. We had a total of 16 units installed at our home, including 2 sliding doors. Luis works with his son, Sebastian, who is not only skilled at what he does - but also very polite and respective of other peoples' home. The guys completed the job in 2 days and cleaned up at the end of each day. I am pleased with the quality of work - the windows have been sealed nicely and professionally. I have referred Luis and Sebastian to family already. I will gladly work with LMR Windows again in the future! Luis was responsive and his quote wasn't the cheapest or most expensive but still decided to go with his company. Once the job got started he then realized he didn't put in the estimate anything for the electrical which included moving a outdoor light, 2 plugs and 1 light switch because we were widening our sliding door which were clearly there when he came to my house to get a quote we ended up hiring someone else to do the electrical work. Once I paid the balance I realized the bottom of the sliding door was unfinished. I texted him thinking it would not be a problem and they would come and fix it but nope his response for me to look at the quote to see if stucco work was included. I assumed he would leave the sliding door how it look before and all the stucco he would need to break to put in the door he would fix. Just make sure everything is included in his quote. Lesson learned! To respond to the owners comment: We were not looking for cheap work the quote was $10,000 for 2 sliding doors which we accepted and did not negotiate or ask for discount . The only expectation was for you leave our house the way you found it. You did not do free stucco work! You had to break stucco to get the sliding door in and you fixed it on one of the doors as you should. You said it was a drip edge there before it is not a foundation issue. We only expected you to leave the door looking finished. I don't think that is too much to ask for. Follow up to the 2nd response: Wow! The lies and your response only shows how unprofessional you really are. None of that happened I never asked for a discount I went with the price you gave and you said you offered a 10% discount if I signed the quote the same which I am sure you tell everyone so your customers will know the truth, you never told me about the gap, and my husband does not do floors, we didn't ask for free stuff, and by giving my address out don't you think other customers would not be happy with you doing that but I guess it shows your true character. Also, I assumed the stucco you broke would be something you fixed. I figured that was an obvious. Very unprofessional Luis! TL;DR: I'll go straight to LMR for all my future glass needs. Got three sets of quotes for replacing 10 (!) windows in my 1920s-era house. LMR was the middle quote, but showed the most direct interest in what I was hoping to accomplish with the replacement, and what changes I would want to make. He had ideas on-the-spot about what styles would make more or less sense in different spots. Just great vibes all around. Luis and co did a great job, honoring the original frame style as much as possible. As you can imagine, there are some...strange? things in the walls of a 100+ year old structure, and Luis rolled with the punches, even reframing when necessary... at no additional cost from the original quote. At the end of each milestone, Luis made sure I knew about environmental and structural dangers (e.g., big cracks in the exterior stucco) that would need attention to give the new windows the best chance of a long life. My house is MUCH quieter now, which proves they did a solid job of sealing up all these windows!! There are only a few manufacturer-solvable issues with the end result, and I have no doubt that Luis will be on top of getting those over the finish line. The best part of working with them is the peace of mind - I know who's going to be in my home, when, and am confident they're going to respect our home and do a great job. They patched and painted the exterior, installed new porch posts, insulated and drywalled our addition, replaced our hot water heater, and replaced our back door. Well, our 30 year old patio "sliding door" was not sliding anymore - wheels apparently broken. So called 3 patio door companies - 2 of which just took my door measurements over the phone and then emailed a quote - never set an appt to come over. Enter Luis Rivera, owner of LMR Windows and Glass Doors in Long Beach to the rescue!! He immediately made an appt and came over. He showed me Anlin brand patio doors and then had me view an Anlin video of their factory in Clovis,CA. Precision built and Luis said he and his dad had NEVER had any problem with their products as delivered to them meaning HAPPY CUSTOMERS! Well we went with his quote which was very fair, paid the deposit and the order was placed at Anlin for our new French Doors w/side panels, 2-3 weeks lead time was customary. When we bought our house we knew the door into the garage needed to be replaced, I reached out to multiple places and the first response back was LMR (less than five minutes after I contacted them). When we decided to upgrade the windows in our home, I asked friends for referrals. Luis at LMR windows was suggested, so I gave him a call. He worked around our schedule to make a appointment to provide a consultation. Upon arrival, he was courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. We got our quote and then continued to solicit bids from other providers. Luis was the ONLY contact that was honest about egress code and upfront about pulling permits. Two other national chain companies skirted the issue in an effort to close a sale. The rep from Andersen outright lied about permitting. Between all of the different information I had received, I ended up having to call the city myself to get to the bottom of it. In the end, Luis at LMR was the only candidate that was accurate/honest about code and permitting. This brings up a very important point in the window replacement process. Renewal by Andersen, Pella, and others send salespeople to your home. With LMR, Luis handles the sales AND is there on install day. This is a huge distinction as there is continuity of service and you're not going to run into a situation where you think you've settled on a price, and then a "project manager" comes out and has to revise the sales person's estimate in face of the reality of your installation. After weighing our options, we went with LMR and selected Anlin windows for our project. I'm not going to get into the windows themselves as each customer may want different characteristics that are better suited to their project. For us, the quality, service, and price ratio offered by the combination of the Anlin windows and LMR install made the most sense for us. Install was surprisingly smooth. I knew how the process worked, but was pleasantly surprised at the courteousness of the LMR install staff. They were quick, polite, and clean. Luis worked around our schedule and he and his crew arrived on time and ready to work. The windows themselves look great and have made a huge improvement to the reduction of noise and draftiness in our home. After the March rains, I can say that the install was sound.
