Great service! Very friendly staff. They allowed us to see the RV and tour the inside before deciding to rent. The check out process was fairly quick. Just make sure to not go during their lunch break or you'll have to wait or come back. You get roadside service included in the rental, in case you have any issues. This was important to us because we never rented or drove an RV before. They had different sizes--small, medium, and large. We walked-in the day of to do a rental so our choices were limited, but if you reserve in advance they will prepare the RV size you want so you can rent it. Thus, more advanced planning will give you more choices. As for payment, you pay for the per day rental and then mileage. Thus, the price depends on how far you plan to actually drive the RV. It was a littler pricer than other RV places but we picked it because the RVs were newer--had leather seats vs cloth. It was also clean, which was important because we had two little kids that touch everything! We would rent from them again. They were good for us because they explained how to use everything! And there was a DVD player for the kids to watch tv. But we might get a smaller one. Driving the large size one was tougher than we thought!

The staff here is superb. Sandra went out of her way to make sure we were completely satisfied with the experience. We drove over 1800 miles and yes had some hiccups but every time we did I called and they handled it all perfectly even when I told them hey I'm going to have to call you back because the Golden Knights game was coming back on. I'd definitely rent again from El Monte RV, this trip was awesome and El Monte was a huge part of the great experience.

Check in was quick and easy and they were helpful with my auto insurance so that I could get what I needed to save money. Rv was clean and new! Easy to operate too! Check out was great as well! Quick and easy! Plus I got a $50 gift certificate for my next rental that is good for one year!

Sorry for the delay in my review, but this whole visit was to see my Grandma who then passed away July 29th, 2023. On May 31st,2023 I booked an RV by phone with Kelly in customer service, I placed a request for a Class A Family Sleeper RV, model FR3 and paid the $250.00 deposit. Prior to the pick up date I called and confirmed for the June 27th pick up. On June 27th, 2023 when picking up the rental they didn't have what I requested so I had to take something else. During the drive home I noticed it was pulling and handled very poorly. After arriving home, I immediately called El Monte to inform customer service about the RV issue and it possible needing an alignment, I was given two options: a) Call the roadside assistance number located on the contract or b) return the following morning of June 28th, 2023 (which now has cut into my time to Michigan) to have them inspect / test drive, t was near closing; 4:30 pm, thus finding a mechanic to inspect and repair was not going to happen. I choose option b and took the RV back the following morning. June 28th, 2023 took back the RV which lead me to taking a ride out with one of the technicians (Dave). Dave confirmed the RV did, in fact need an alignment and could not be taken on the trip as planned. Judy then presented me with a couple more options: a) wait the 2 hours out and get the original unit back or b) tour the coachman Pursuit she had available in the back. After further discussion/inspection, the Pursuit came with its own problem - the slide out was not functioning properly. Per Judy, they were in the process of determining if it was the motor or a possible pinched line. Judy's last attempt to rectify the situation was to offer a Class C, which subsequently I was told was the only unit available. So, was that solution? Why present me with options when, in essence, there were none. With no options but to cancel all reservations associated with my trip or attempt my trip in the Class C unit, because of timing and cancel fees, etc., I choose to take the Class C. Let's just suffice to say, I would have been better off cancelling and attempting to recoup my cancellation fees later, as it were the Class C came with a whole host of issues. Bad alignment as well, fought to keep it straight the entire trip - can you imagine how frightening and tiring that must have been? Steel belts exposed on right front tire-seems they swapped the left for the right - and that is a no-no. The main slide out to the kitchen has a gasket that is falling off the coach and leaked water inside on the drive through New Mexico into Oklahoma and when it rained while in Michigan and what a mess we got. The slide out window vibrates terribly. The refrigerator leaked, door continuously opened even with the latch on it, and it didn't keep the food cold. The shower was used once and then clogged to find out there was sand in the tub, however, we never stopped or went near any sand. This was my first time doing this at the cost of $3,379.99 plus everything else. Not very happy in the way they handled things and the constant push off by the manager. Beware it you decide to go with them. Was not able to get the videos to load where it can be seen and heard.

We paid for 5 days, but were told we cannot pick up the vehicle til after 1pm on the first day because it would not be ready yet. We showed up at 3pm, and they were still replacing a tire, told us it would take another 20 mins, we waited another 2.5 hours. This was the first sign that they did not value our time. After our long weekend, we were 3hrs into our 4.5hr drive home when 2 back tires blew. We were told about their roadside assistance at pickup, so initially we were not concerned, we assumed help would be on the way promptly. The initial phone call they told us we would receive a text with an ETA soon. Our family had stopped to help, but since we were told someone would be on the way soon, they went home. 5:34 first outgoing call to roadside assistance - 5 mins 6:09 outgoing to roadside assistance- 7 mins 6:18 outgoing to roadside assistance - 6 mins 6:26 incoming from tire place asking for location - 8 mins 7:22 outgoing to roadside assistance - 7 secs 7:23 outgoing to roadside assistance - 2 mins 7:34 outgoing to tire company - 13 mins 7:48 outgoing to roadside assistance - 1hr 22 mins 8:33 Text message saying service was canceled 8:36 outgoing 3 way call to tire company while on hold, tire company was now closed - 36 mins 9:12 outgoing to roadside assistance - 6 mins 9:18 outgoing to roadside assistance - 58 secs 9:20 outgoing to roadside assistance - 19 mins 9:45 outgoing to roadside assistance - 1 min 9:48 outgoing to roadside assistance - 43 secs 9:48 FIRST CALL BACK FROM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE! (4 hours later) Asked for mileage, told us to hide the keys, said to get everything & everyone out of the RV. They were going to tow it. With NO resolution on how we were going to be able to get home with 5 adults, 4 children and 3 dogs. Ending the conversation with "Have a good night." - 2 mins 10:16 incoming from tow truck company - 2 mins 10:18 outgoing panicked phone calls to friends & family til we found someone to help us We were trapped in the middle of nowhere off US93. In the Nevada desert during summer, with monsoon storms all around us. Only 1 person having cell phone service. Vehicles driving passed us at 70mph+ all night. We were all on edge, especially the children. It took us another few hours to get home. We had to call numerous people to find a way to get 12 of us home (INCLUDING CHILDREN AND DOGS), plus all of our gear. Sitting on the side of the highway in the pitch black of the night. We arrived at home after 1:30am We were forced to throw away hundreds of dollars in food. Our relaxing camping vacation with family was ruined by the stress and anxiety brought on by being stranded on the side of a highway for over 7hrs and having no help whatsoever from El Monte RV's roadside assistance. We went to there in person as soon as they opened at 8am the next morning. They informed us that we could be held liable for the tires, and that they couldn't close out our account until they received notification from the dealership on fault, mileage and generator hours. The staff there did not offer any compensation, no apologies. In fact.. One of the employees felt the need to point out that we had used cuss words twice... Not taking into account the pure frustration and lack of sleep we had been experiencing from this entire situation. We left after being told we would receive a call by noon, so they could speak with the dealership first. When they did call all they had to say is that our security deposit would be deposited back into our acct, but made sure to mention that WE should have been held liable for the tires. They had claimed they needed to wait to get the mileage & generator hours from the dealership, but we actually received a phone call from that dealership asking us where we had hidden the keys, 2 hours after they had called us with their "resolution". So clearly they were just buying time and wanted us to leave the premises. They put my entire family at risk in so many ways. By sending us on our way with bald tires, having only fixed 1 of them. By leaving us stranded on the side of the highway for hours without any regard for any of our well being. The tire company had at least asked if we were safe, El Monte did not. If they had just told us from the beginning that they couldn't offer us any help, we could have made arrangements to be home a lot sooner than we were. Instead they had no regard for our time or safety. No other compensation. No apologies. Still paid full price for the trip. I think that is extremely unacceptable. I will obviously never use them again, and will be sure that anyone I know will not use them either. I only hope my reviews will keep people informed so no other families are put at risk of a serious accident, or being stranded in the middle of nowhere, during a desert summer.

El Monte RV this is how the part of the RV was...I didn't inspect it cause the guy who walked with me went super fast and this was my first time ever...plus he wouldnt let my mom walk with us and believe u me if she would have she would have noticed it....they charged up for the repairs a super inflated price like it's our fault....the blonde female manager made every excuse in the book this has to be our fault .... UNACCEPTABLE! El Monte RV is this inspected and professional huh...when I went to hook up the sewage this is what I encountered.... COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and the blonde female manager had every excuse in the corporate book why this is ok. ..SERIOUSLY!!!!!! El Monte RV our sewer hose was broken, no inspection no mention from them that we might need an adapter to hook it up...we get to our camp site and try and hook our sewer up and found out not only was it not inspected but it was broken...we tell them and manager on duty is like we don't supply the adapter....well can u at least tell me that or inform me plus the sewer line was broke to start with...no inspection...nothing...the manager on duty this Sunday Morning Sept 25th between 830-10am was not only a horrible person but hid behind corperate legal rather than saying "i apologize for the difficulties and for the struggle...these are things we will address thank you for bringing them to my attention...NO SHE EXCUSED EVERYTHING AS OUR FAULT....how dare u and ur non-sense....I hope the hell u read this cause I gonna make sure u and the company u work for and rely on for a non existing back bone knows who's the hell I am u worthless company....I even told u to ur face have some damn decency and with straight face u kept up with that damn corpate BS....it's unexcusable and completely unprofessional how the manager on duty handle this entire thing ...U SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF URSELF!

Another year of great service!! We have rented from El Monte RV the last 5+ years for Halloween. I have previous reviews and each year the service we receive is what keeps us coming back. The staff is friendly and nothing short of accommodating. We always request an early pick up and this year they offered us to pick up a day early for no extra cost. Although we couldn't make that happen, it was nice having that offer. Also, we were able to return on Sunday (just happens to be Halloween) but our friend rented from Cruise America and they were closed (sucks for him). The RV we rented was the 22ft 2022 Sun Seeker. The interior was very nice and offered plenty of space for table seating multiple people and a nice stereo system. I wish we took more pictures but there's always next time for that. A few tips: If you have AAA use it!! You will get 200 free miles and a price deduction. And after each time you rent with El Monte you will get a $50 off for next time use. I'm a fan of any kind of discount and every little bit helps. Thank you everyone in the office for always being so good to us. Specially to Crystal, you always seem to check us in and out. See you in a year or less I hope!

Absolutely terrible service. Left my family of 5 adults, 4 children, & 3 animals stuck on the side of the highway in the middle of the desert with no care to assist us getting home. We had 2 tires pop due to the tires being bald. We were an hour outside of town & were left out there for 7 hours before we had to have a family friend come get us & all of our belongings. They told us to unload the rv & leave it there & they would tow it, with no options for us to get home. No compensation was offered & they tried to put the blame on us. Absolutely will never be using again & don't recommend to anyone else.

    Cracked Fridge Handle

RV Review Unit # 32917 If you're thinking of renting an RV from El Monte RV, make sure you get all the ins and outs of the model you're driving. I didn't know that my broken mirror mount was just a quick tightening of an Allen screw. The drive is somewhat difficult to maintain stability on the road because there's too much play on the steering wheel shifting left and right. I found that 60 mph was the sweet spot to be able to maintain stability on the road. The passenger side mirror broke off the mount and would spin freely. I was told to fix the mirror myself by using duct tape or take it to a shop for repair. Like I mentioned above, it was just a matter of tightening the Allen screw that fix the problem but I couldn't find any instructions or videos on how to do that. The USB ports above the dinette and above the sofa have been pushed so far in so they are unusable. This RV being a 2020 should've had two roof air conditioners one for the front and one for the back The fridge and freezer handles are made of low grade plastic and easily crack and break. In fact, the fridge door handle is already showing signs of cracking and eventual failure. And finally, on our last day, the fridge stopped working. I later found out that the vehicle battery is responsible for maintaining the cooling system in the refrigerator. We were parked for a few days so even if power showed full, The fridge stopped working. Good thing we were going home the next day and we finished all the frozen foods. The good: Water, Power, and Drain Hookups worked well. The DVD player and extra HDMI port were a welcome plus especially for the kids. Apple/Android car play / mirror was a nice feature. Sleeping room for 4 adults and 2 small kids proved to be quite comfortable. Outside outlets and shower were convenient. Lots of storage in the back and sides. Air antenna with TV scan allowed for local channel broadcast and entertainment. Stove and microwave worked well and so did the toilet and shower spaces. Overall we had a good experience and being our first time driving an RV I give it a grade B+

$445 to replace the bumper with a small dent. Insane. It's a scam bc there is no way they are replacing the bumper but they charged me for a replacement and the shipping cost of a replacement.

El Monte was the best! We rented a class C with their one way deal. It was brand new. On our way to delivere it from Indiana to Las Vegas the Class C was perfect for visiting 6 different National Parks. We returned that and got a beautiful brand new Class A motorhome for the rest of our trip which we took through California down the Pacific Coast Highway. They were always just a phone call away when we had any questions. We had absolutely no problems and would definitely recommend renting from them. Only good things to say!!!!!

Can I drive up to the Las Vegas, rent a RV, then park my vehicle there during my RV trip for grand circle? Thinking about driving up to Vegas from SoCal. It's better than me renting RV from SoCal as it will add lots of extra RV mileage.

There is a sign in their parking lot that overnight parking is not allowed but I would call and ask them because they are very helpful and might be able to direct you to a parking lot nearby.

Just called today to set up our trip and how lucky for me they "updated" there system and any old reservation from 2023 and back are no longer in the system. The trip started fine until we reached the RV park at 12am. No water hoses, sewage lines or TV cable for full hook ups, NOTHING. Next the slide pop out had trouble opening. Next the fridge stopped working and a strong smell of ammonia was coming from it, next the CO2 alarm started going off and never shut off. The alarm was so loud (and rightfully) so the RV park made us leave. We then had to rent a hotel for the duration of our trip. The 1800 roadside service number I called had me on hold for over a hour with finally no one to service us. This all sounds like the worst experience right? Yes, but I was told my account would be noted and a redo trip was appropriate. I didn't want my money back. I wanted exactly what they said they would do. Family trips are not easy and not something we can do every year, but 21 months later and a baby later we decided to have another go at RV'ing. I've rented before from Road Bear and every time we had a issue they solved it, but now with "The new system" I'm screwed? So when you rent from them babysit and double check their work, make sure everything is working and all equipment is ready and if you have any issues just know they will fight you now tooth and nail on their screw up thanks to the "new system". I was told by someone I was clearly bothering that an upper management person would reach out to tell me in a higher paid voice I'm SOL.

Ice was needed our entire trip to keep anything remotely cold. 2. When you hit the brakes at 55-60 mph or more, the brake pedal vibrated as did the vehicle. 3. The headlights were terrible because the lenses were so sun faded and fogged over. 4. I'm unsure if the shocks were ever changed but every bump on an interstate or rough roads at 65 mph or greater, the van shook pretty bad and wobbled more anything. 4. When rented, I took a picture of the odometer at 598 as the last 3 and they claim it was 587 and charged us for the 11 miles we didn't even drive the vehicle. This is the 2nd time we've used Escape because the first time it was a great experience. This time was not an enjoyable experience and we won't be back. For the price of everything, you'd expect a van in good condition that felt safe as well as being fully functional...we did not get that.

Native Campervans is definitely worth a look if you're looking to rent a nicely equipped campervan…read morefor a fair price in the southwest. We recently wrapped up a trip to Utah's "Mighty Five" National Parks, and picking up a campervan from Las Vegas was the most convenient option for us. The entire booking process is done online, offering clear descriptions of your options and very flexible pickup and drop-off dates and times. (We even had the option to drop off on Easter Sunday, which no other company offered, as far as I could find). Pricing is fair for what you get. Even the actual pickup process is contactless, which is great if you just want to get in and start your adventure. Our particular van (a Squad, built from a Ram Promaster 1500) looked like it had seen better days, with some visible damage all around the exterior. Not sure if I needed to do it, but I took photos of the damage just in case I needed it later. We then got in and drove off. The van is nicely equipped, with a queen sized bed inside, a hard shell rooftop tent, propane stove, basic cooking supplies, a large cooler, and 5 gallon water tank. Most of these things work well. If Native offered a larger, long wheelbase, high roof van, with a wet room, that seats 4, that would have been awesome. But again, good price and value here. Good storage options throughout the van. A table that can be placed and put away as needed. There were a couple of minor issues around the van. Cruise control didn't work, which would have been a big help on some of our long highway drives. Not a huge deal, but annoying for sure. The power inverter's outlets were also barely functional, needing us to press on the plug a certain way to work. In addition, the van's auxiliary battery power switch was turned off at pickup, so I needed to fiddle with the finicky switch at the side of the driver seat to get the ceiling vent fan, interior accent lighting, and some other electrical things to work. The cooler's drain plug was loose at pickup, so some water was leaking once our first batch of ice started melting. That just needed to be tightened all the way. Lastly, after one night's rain, we had a water leak coming inside the van through the overhead map lights. Possibly coming from the roof antenna or marker lights. In addition, one of the window flaps of the rooftop tent had a broken zipper, meaning it couldn't be closed to block out wind. Only the mesh screen could be zipped. In early April in the Utah desert at night, that was an issue with temperatures dipping into the 30s. We also had a small rainstorm one night but luckily the wind was blowing the other way. The van itself was otherwise in decent working condition. The brakes felt like they were due for service but they worked. Fuel economy seemed to be in the 18 MPG range. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd certainly rent from Native Campervans in the future for another vanlife adventure.

We just finished a 9 day trip to several National Parks in the southwest. We rented the 'Smalls'…read morevan from Native Campervans ("Vincent Van Gogh"), which was the perfect adventure vehicle for the two of us! It was easy to drive (if you're used to a van or SUV), got good mileage, and was fast on the highway. We appreciated all the creature comforts we had on this trip, including a very comfy bed, a kitchen that is quick to set up, lots of storage that is easily accessible, and a nice roof-top fan that kept us cool all night. We added on the roof-top box, where we kept our unused airplane luggage and other items (like camping chairs) that we didn't need quick access to. We loved being able to pull-over and quickly put-together a picnic lunch at scenic views, and the convenience of the van made it easy for us to get to the hiking trails very early in the morning. We got several compliments on the van during our trip and we liked that the van did not stand-out in parking lots. We didn't miss our fridge, but we did buy ice for the cooler-bag every-other day. Luckily, every gas station and grocery store in the southwest sells ice, so that wasn't a hassle. There are also lots of places to shower, either in campsites you might stay in, or in RV parks along your route, so we did not miss that too much either (though we did have to accept that we were going to smell a bit some nights!). One thing to keep in mind is that the 'Smalls' is, well, small. Getting in and out of bed involves some flexibility and probably isn't for everyone. My husband is tall (6'2") - the bed was just long enough for him and the driver's seat had just barely enough leg room. He was comfortable, but if you're any taller you'll probably want a bigger vehicle. Also, the 'Smalls' has only enough storage for about 4-5 days, both in terms of the amount of food storage, and the amount of clothing storage. We bought more groceries and did our laundry mid-trip. On the plus-side, since the 'Smalls' doesn't use a generator and is the size of an SUV,  we were able to easily camp at "tent" sites, which are much less expensive than RV sites. Most of the parking-spaces are fairly flat, and with some maneuvering we were able to get the van nearly-level. No one hassled us for not having a tent, and the van is quite sound-proof, so we were never disturbed by our neighbors. We were worried that the water jug might not be large enough (5-gallon) for the desert and we bought a second collapsible one, but we didn't need to use it. We were also worried about changing clothes in campsites (since the van has to be open to cook), and we bought a cheap privacy tent on Amazon. This was useful a couple of times, but is not necessary. Since the kitchen is totally exposed to the elements, we brought a small tarp in case of bad weather. Luckily we didn't need to use it, but we were glad to have it just in case. These vans have a lot of mileage, ours was pushing 100,000, and it is starting to show. The storage drawers had a different locking mechanism from the one advertised, because the original started to break. Instead of a dimming interior light there was just a switch. Instead of bedside USB ports there were cigarette lighter sockets (and we couldn't get the ones near the driver to work). The privacy shields probably worked well once, but they are getting old and kept falling off the windows (we ended up rigging a system with our towels for privacy). On the positive side, despite its age the van ran smoothly and we had no mechanical problems whatsoever on our 1700 mile trip! Overall, we highly recommend Native Campervans for your next outdoor adventure!
