My husband, a friend, and I signed up for a 4-day surf/yoga/massage package. I'd absolutely recommend any one of the elements, but the whole package is amazing. First things first: Rochelle is an outstanding surf coach. She immediately spotted our strengths and weaknesses and worked with us individually and specifically to improve all aspects of our surfing. We also went out with one of her other guides, Milo, who was incredibly helpful and generous. Both of them know the breaks like the backs of their hands. Rochelle's yoga was terrific too. The yoga sessions offset her surf instruction in an holistic way that addressed some of my injuries, habits, and weaknesses both in and out of the water. Pain from my cervical spine stenosis was almost entirely relieved by her paddling tips and yoga placement/strengthening work. And the massage was miraculous. It's an integrative experience that not many people could offer. As a former professional dancer I want to say that Rochelle truly and deeply understands the body, and brings all her knowledge to bear in her instruction and bodywork. Set up my yoga appointment for a 1 on 1 lesson at 7:30 in the morning on a Monday during my vacation. Was $137 for a hour and a half on the beach. Was told by my booking agency that the instructor would contact me about a meeting spot. Still didn't have my meeting spot when it came to Sunday so I decided to call. I believe my instructor was Rochelle. Rochelle was extremely rude to me for simply asking where we were meeting up for my appointment. WHICH WAS HER JOB. she was such a bitch I was debating canceling the appointment then and there. Decided to give her the benefit of the doubt even though she was complaining about not doing her job because she was too busy in her garden. She told me on the phone Sunday to come about 10-15 minutes early. I then showed up at the meeting spot at 7:20. I waited for about 20 minutes and went home. Around 7:45 when I was already home she called me and asked where I was and called my booking agency and said I never shows up. I was the only person at the the meeting spot so it was impossible to miss me. She then said she was on time and it was my fault. I told her that as bullshit and I was waiting for her for 20 minutes Since I shows up at 7:20 and left at 7:40 (my appointment was at 7:30). She then asked me to give her forgiveness after being a bitch on the phone. Probably because she didn't want a bad review. She couldn't do math and tried to correct me and say it was only 10 minutes I was waiting. Moral of the story don't book with this lady unless you want a yoga instructor who lives in Kauai to complain about doing her job. I would recommend booking anywhere else. Wish I can rate her 0 stars because all she did was waste my time on my vacation. read more

Rochelle's professional team of Kaipo and Kaimana did a fantastic job with my and my 4 kids' first surf lessons at Hanalei Bay in December 2017. They greeted us with big smiles, connected well with the kids ages 16 to 24, and got everyone up and surfing literally within minutes. Had a really great and healing massage by Tammy last week. The setting was lovely and relaxing and Tammy was very in tune with my body and also very respectful of more tender and painful areas. I was staying as a guest at an amazing Kukui' Ula community in Koloa and I first took Rochelle's yoga class because it was offered and I wanted to move around after a long flight. But what and how I felt even during my first class with Rochelle is what made me go back to all her classes during my stay in Kauai. She put the class at ease, created this calming yet powerful force through out the entire session. She was very thorough with her instructions, explained why we do certain poses and most importantly how to do them correctly. I did not realize that I was doing some of the most basic poses incorrectly all this time until Rochelle gracefully corrected me!! I felt an amazing release in different parts of my body after the first class and it only got better with each session. I also appreciated Rochelle taking the time to allow us to really feel the moves/energy and experience the difference. I feel totally relaxed yet much stronger and mobile now. What an amazing massage ! I was blessed to have Rochelle come to our condo to give me a massage. I came to Hawaii with a painful back knot that I couldn't stretch out on my own. Well... Rochelle fixed that right up .. her approach was different than I had experienced in the past ( and I have had a lot of massage) more of a therapeutic approach at fixing my issue and that she did ! Although my wife and I have been coming to Kaua'i annually for years and years -- 17, I think, I have never before had such a wonderful experience. I generally get off of the plane sore and stiff requiring several days to loosen up. This year I asked our property manager to set me up with a massage so that I could at least walk upright. I was lucky that she recommended Rochelle. Contact with Rochelle was easy as can be, communicating via texts. I have to say that when I looked her up online and found her personal Wikipedia article as well as her movie credits and Youtube offerings I was more than a little intimidated. Rochelle turns out, however, to be a lovely, petite woman, astonishingly fit and genuinely fun to experience. Her Lua Lomi style of "body work" involves repetitive linear movements designed to warm and loosen tight muscles and fascia. She says that it is designed to restore injured warriors. Well I am no warrior, but I do have a superabundance of tight spots. I visited her twice a week. By the time I left for home I was standing straight. Most importantly, I feel much better. And I got to get better while listening to soft guitar music and bird song in an idyllic Hawaiian setting. We talked story -- a genuinely personal interaction. As a bonus I got to play with her cats. Life just doesn't get better. My five star rating turns out to be conservative. If I could just figure out how to use those emoji things I would give her a sixth star. read more
