Not a view from the bar! But of Pacifica.
    Nancy -.

Friendly local atmosphere. Not the typical tourist spot. Low key, great drinks, good people. I'm not a local to Pacifica but I'm here for work quite a bit. They don't serve food but allow you to bring in food from many of the restaurants in the shopping area. Plenty of TV screens to enjoy sports. Beats any of the tourist bars/restaurants in the area.

Great drinks, service, prices and environment. Perfect for sports or just hanging out. If you like weak drinks, don't go here. Cash only! Cheers

I discovered this place thanks to my friends Faco and Stolowitz who've got me doing trivia there every Monday. I was fresh off a flight from Hawaii so it's perfect. This is the only place I order fancy drinks . Every week I try something new . I tried the s'mores it was good. That grasshopper tho who's that was really good. They make a great Hawaiian blue and volcano too, I love the mai tai too. I miss Joey. He was a great bartender. Hey man they've still got some super great ones . Well the one guy there is awesome, dang I forgot His name. They've had some great comedy here too at times. Shout out to Honoton. The parking is great . There's a beach close by to walk it off if you're tipsy too. The drinks are priced great and they give you Your moneys worth. The crowd here is great too. I knew none of the customers but they've made me feel like fam.

What an absolute gem and a hidden treasure that reminded us of how the San Francisco Bay Area used to be! The Surf Lounge is a fantastic throwback for those of us who loved the Bay Area when it was grounded and friendly, when people were civil to one another, and when we all knew how to have a good time together! It was at the tail end of a visit to see friends and family in the Bay Area when a friend suggested we meet at the nearby Camelot fish and chips shop in Pacifica. We thought we'd escape the city after she was due to meet a client in Pacifica. After we were thrown out of yet another place for staying past closing and wanting to keep talking, we were referred to a bar along the mall. Upon entering, it looked slightly rough on the edges, but we were put at ease immediately when we saw a group of folks who were clearly having a great time, as we heard songs that took us back to our childhoods. We happened to stumble in on Karaoke Tuesday and everyone was getting involved. The drinks were reasonably priced, everyone was supportive of those singing (regardless of how suited they were or not for America's Got Talent) and there was an expansive back patio area. Adding to the fun mix of people, the interiors were a warm combination of the local charm and a tiki lounge. Since it was a school night for us, it took every ounce of discipline to keep from singing, getting completely hammered, and making a night of it. For the next visit, this will be a fun stop and we can only imagine how fun it'd be on a weekend with nice weather. A thumbs up for a lovely venue in Pacifica that's got a fantastic San Francisco vibe for those who remember when the Bohemian city was at its height.

The BBQ platter is amazing! The pork ribs just fell off the bone. So juicy, tender, and tasty. I was hesitant with the pork loin but it was delicious and tender. The dino rib did not disappoint either. I really loved the chili with a nice balance of salty sweet. Yes the pizza was hella good. The cheese pull was insane and had a nice crust from the fire. My daughter enjoyed the pizza and the pork ribs. She gave them a thumbs up. Kid friendly atmosphere because they did not get annoyed with her playing hopscotch and dancing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. The quality of the meats stood out, especially the ribeye, which was flavorful and well-marbled. One of my favorite touches was the self-serve drink fridge in the back, offering a wide, unlimited selection that adds to the overall experience. The broth was rich and satisfying, complementing the ingredients nicely. The atmosphere strikes a great balance--casual and welcoming, with the feel of a classic Chinese hot pot restaurant. The spicy broth was definitely Chinese levels spicy- a little strong, soy milk or another beverage is highly recommended! All the food here was yummy- the shocking standout was the honey prawn shrimp. Our table loved it so much that we ordered three plates. The cucumber salad is also a non hot pot dish that's included in AYCE that we found really enjoyable. No complaints, nothing is wrong with the meat quality or the veggie quality but the broth is not the best IMO. It could be worked on. Love the free ice cream bar that has Asian inspired flavors- my favorite was the red bean and black sesame. The service is quick and the place is clean! Definitely a hit, we all left with our bellies full.

I was underwhelmed by their "by the glass" menu and settled on an Orange wine and my husband got a Sauvignon Blanc. We sat in the green velvet couches that felt like sitting in someone's basement. My husband took one sip of his wine and it was terrible, I took a sip and it smelled like it was turning. He went back to get a different glass and the owner reluctantly poured him a Rose. We sat and had two glasses each, about $60. When I went to pay, the owner said that she wanted to be "transparent" and was still charging me for half of the awful first glass we took back. I told her I tasted it and it was terrible. She was extremely rude about it. If you were being "transparent" you would have told me that before pouring another glass. So she charged me $6-7 when I would have tipped $10-12 on the tab and I'll never go back there again. That's just someone that doesn't know how to run a business. Don't go here, like the other reviews stated, it's really just for locals. I overheard the owner saying to someone she got a case of some wine cheap because the labels were misprinted. So they are running a cheap wine shop. If you go here, make sure you taste anything before you buy or you will be charged even if the wine has turned. Although, I wanted to taste the reisling and the owner told me the bottle wasn't opened yet and it was super sweet, she wouldn't let me taste it. Like she was assuming I wouldnt like it. The food we got to try was mixed. Caesar salad & corn soup, good. The coconut shrimp somehow had no flavor, and the oysters Rockefeller were fine. Our issue was primarily with the service. We were there with two kids under 5. We told them upfront that we wanted to eat quickly given this. Long story short, it took an hour forty minutes to get our entrees. At which point we had to get the food to go. The restaurant after they were asked comped a little, but were not very apologetic about the wait just saying their wait staff were busy. So it seems like they may need to invest in more waiters. This was made all the more frustrating because it was one of my kids birthdays, which we put in our reservation note, but nothing was done to make this in any way feel special or accommodating. Overall, if you are going for the atmosphere and to have dinner, I think it is a nice restaurant given the views. But if you took this away, I would say the food and service are not up to standard.
