My boyfriend and I had a massive leak in our master bathroom that has put us out of commission for a while, and we're now on the hunt for tile. The problem is, we want something new, but it has to flow with what's in our other bathrooms. One of us is great at envisioning things, and the other isn't. We both have very distinct tastes and preferences. Basically, we have no agreement on what the hell we want, and going into a store that has 500 tile samples is about the last thing we want to do. BUT. Enter Courtney. She targeted a few things that we each like/dislike, and then brought back a handful of samples. She was kind, a good listener, attentive, and knew when to give us time to chat on our own. She had some great suggestions, and we ended up settling on four samples for the floor. We got them home and liked all of them - so we're heading in the right direction. I can't speak for anyone else that works there, as we didn't have any interaction with them, but Courtney was amazing and we'd definitely go back to see her. I was surprised that the business had such poor reviews, so felt compelled to let you know that our experience wasn't like that! read more

They're a good tile source if you can ever get someone on the phone, there chat option puts you in touch with a person I assume is working from home somewhere in the US so there not actually in the place your ordering from. A lack of urgency in some cases make me wonder if they even care if we do business with them. We have four 6' displays and most of our sales people steer clear of them because of there phone service read more

Poor customer service and inconsistent product. 1) I received two different dye lots of white - one a pure white, one an obvious yellow white. Installer had to pull tile off the wall and redo the design ad hoc to make the client satisfied. Our job was delayed and our timeline is gone. When we called to resolve the different tile colors, Surface Art admitted that tile was pulled from old supply and a new shipment, and then they ignored communication? 2) I had to pick up a final bucket of grout. Drove an hour to Surface Art to be turned away as "they were closed for inventory and emailed everyone." I was never told they were closing for inventory, nor emailed about this or I wouldn't have made the trip. The woman who answered the door told me to return on Monday and was visibly flustered. With so many suppliers and online resources do yourself a favor and order elsewhere! Another customer who was unaware of the closure and turned away told me that another wholesale supplier in Georgetown has better material and service. I can't remember the name but it had "Master" in it. read more

Don't bother to order tile from Surface Art as the manufacturer/supplier, you'll wait and wait and wait for it. Apparently they don't have anything pre-produced, and they just collect orders to send to China, then once they reach the volume they need, they'll produce it. My order has been delayed time and again. They have no clue about how to serve customers. read more

We ordered ledger stone for our fireplace wall. We loved the colors and ordered corner pieces as well as flat face pieces. When we received the product, the corner pieces are pre-assembled, and have a metal piece that hold the 90 degree shape in place. However, the metal pieces are crookedly glued on and the corners do not sit on the corners well. They are all off, and some rock on a perfectly square corner. After emailing and sending them photos of the poor manufacturing, all they say is to contact the company I used to purchase their product, and they cannot help. I am apalled after spending over $1,000 that they cannot help me come up with a solution. They wouldn't sell me the corner pieces unassembled, either. Ridiculous. read more
