The new location is so much larger and their wood selection is getting better and better. I find the staff to be super helpful and knowledgeable. They are staffed with woodworkers and turners, so if you have a question, someone can help you. Look out for the sales - great sale prices on clamps! The everyday prices are not super cheap, but are in line with Amazon and cheaper than some retailers. They stock quality tools and supplies. They give a 10% Veteran's discount with an ID and the staff is a mix of genders, races, and ages. You can always find someone approachable if you are shy or unsure. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great selection of specialized hardware. They had in stock what I was looking for and while they did not have another item I thought if while I was there they found a local competitor that did. That is a step above ANY service I have ever received at Home Depot or Lowe's. I plan on taking advantage of their in-store classes at some point. read more

What an awesome selection of tools, accessories, materials, etc. I stopped in just to look around while nearby. I fully intended to just browse the shop, but ended up with a cart and several things to take home. For example, while looking at a Japanese hand saw, one of the employees asked me if I wanted to try it out and I did! It was a great tool, so naturally, I bought it. I've used it a few times, and it's so much faster than a regular hand saw. I also picked up some wood glue, and a few accessories. I also chatted with a few staff on various topics including dust collection, as I've been thinking about getting a system. They shared lots of great information, with no pressure to buy or upsell me. It was overall a great experience. If you're into woodworking, I highly recommend stopping in. Be warned though, you may find more than a few things to buy! read more

Really great store if you are into woodworking. My wife and I stopped in here to get some food safe stain for some grazing boards we were making. They had absolutely everything in here, and really seem to be the only store to find specialty wood working items in the area. I could honestly spend all day in here looking at tools (that I can't afford haha). The location was hard to find as it is tucked back in the corner, but just look for iFly and it's right next to it. The prices on some items were a little steep IMO, but I imagine it's all top notch quality stuff. You get what you pay for so the saying goes! I will definitely be going her to get my next set of router bits though. They have even router by imaginable which is awesome, because I can never seem to find the ones I need. Will definitely come here for any future specialty wood projects. read more

I am very impressed with the staff and store manager, Robert, at Rocklers in Tukwila. Every time I go in I am greeted by friendly and courteous staff. They're helpful and knowledgeable. I visit the store about every 6 to 8 months and Robert always seems to recognize me. This last time I went in Robert was in the middle of unloading a large shipment but gladly stopped to answer some of my questions. He ended up asking me about what type of projects I make. I shared with him my interest in wood-turning but have always been a bit nervous since I have no experience. He recommended a class they host this Saturday which I have signed up for. I'm very excited for the opportunity and will continue shopping at this location! read more

Highly recommended. If you're enthusiastic and interested about woodworking, pay these kind folks a visit. Outstanding products and service. I have connected with (3) different staff at this location on separate visits -- overall, I found each to be friendly, well-informed, and helpful. Most recently, I connected with David, who listened to my project goals, and took the time to explain a method he has used personally to approach my objective. In the process, he recommended specific products that Rockler can provide to make the work easier, and more consistent. Rockler has an entire team devoted to dreaming up ways to make your life as woodworker easier. I can confirm -- high value here. I special ordered an item, and it was delivered to the store -- David telephoned when it had arrived to let me know. Great follow through. Woodworking can involve some very detailed specifications and design elements, and it does pay to have done some research about what you would like to do -- this will help make the most out of your in-person visit. Also -- one of the reviews for Rockler from a while ago states that it's "where men go". Maybe at one point in time, woodworking was seen as primarily the domain of men. This is an outdated perspective. Those days are long past, and Rockler has awesome craftswomen on staff. This place is truly for EVERYONE who wants to try their hand working with wood. This is where cabinet makers go to dream! Rockler Tukwila is slightly larger than the Stone Way location, but it has all the same great supplies. The staff are knowledgeable, like they have been cabinet makers for decades. While Rockler carries similar brands as the Home Depot, they have a much better selection of each brand. They also have an excellent selection of fine woodworking tools. We're talking fine, finish cabinetry here. We exclusively buy our drawer slides from Rockler, and no where else. Yes, they are more expensive. But if you need quality selection and expert advice or guidence....what, do you think that's free? Just try it at Home Depot, I dare ya! It's a GO! read more

This store is absolutely fantastic. Rockler in general is great, but the Tukwila store really shines. Their selection is always impressive, even with somewhat limited space compared to some of the other Rockler locations (such as the Seattle store). Of course if they don't have something on hand they are always happy to order it in. Every time I've done that it has arrived very quickly, at no additional cost to me. The employees simply could not be better. They are always interested to hear what project customers might be working on and are eager to offer advice that truly comes from a place of knowledge and experience. If you do happen to stump an employee with a question (rare!) they will make sure you still get an answer - that might mean asking someone else on the staff, calling another location, etc. Saying that they go the extra mile doesn't even describe it. The location is a little far from me (I'm coming from Olympia, WA - so Tukwila is still closer than the Seattle location). That's no fault of the store of course, I'd just love it if this store and these employees were easier to get to for me. Their hours are a little rough. 7PM on weeknights is alright, but they do close early on the weekends, which is when it is easier for me to make the drive. As long as I can plan ahead and get there earlier in the day it works out. I highly recommend Rockler in general, and of the 4 different Rockler stores I've frequented in 3 states, this one is hands-down the best. read more

This was my first time visiting Rocklers. I needed to replace cabinet hinges that were made in germany. Luckily they carry "IN-STOCK" a large assortment of hinges and other woodworking related items. Store is well stocked and prices were not so bad. However, when I got to the counter with a $600 power tool, they would not honor my non-resident State of Alaska tax exemption... They tried to give me some BS excuses but every other establishment I've shopped at down here has gladly exempted the tax from the purchase. Great way to loose business! I visited this location and was asked to leave my backpack at the front desk .I brought it in with me because I don't like to leave it in my vehicle which I carry everywhere with me . I have been to this location regularly so this bothered me I felt that I was guilty until proven innocent and you never can come back from that. I left instantly left. There are multiple wood working stores where I feel trusted and will go there instead. I would rather shop online than go where I must be suspected of being a criminal than a valued customer. read more

The Rockler woodworking location in Tukwila is a great store, with very helpful employees. I have always enjoyed my experiences at this store, with the exception of my last two visits. There is a slim, older gal named Don and she seems to be very unpleasant. I watched her rudely talking to her employees, she was rude to me, and she was yelling at the FedEx guy for what seemed like the smallest of problems. Both times I went in the past few days, she had this attitude, so I don't think it was just a fluke, it might just be in her nature. I like supporting Rockler, and I like this location very much, but I must say, it's a shame that they have that one bad apple. I will continue shopping at this location because everyone there (with the exception of Don) is great, and the prices are unbeatable! I'm giving them five stars because I would hate to discredit the whole store, because of one bad employee. read more
