Work: 2 x shower plumbing 3 x sink plumbing 1 x washer plumbing 1 x dryer hookup Darwin and Ethan were so helpful with repairing the plumbing in the townhouse I just recently purchased to get me move-in ready! The home inspector had called out plumbing issues with both showers and all three sinks. Darwin came in and gave me a much more detailed assessment and did a great job getting to work to fix the plumbing. Darwin was critical in identifying a bonehead mistake by the seller's previous plumber and was able to quickly obtain and install a retro kit to the shower on the same day. All the work was done quickly and they even did a great job of minimizing the mess! And in addition to that great work, I later discovered that my washer plumbing was leaking as well, something not caught by the home inspector! Darwin was kind enough to come back to fix this small job and even gave me the insight to replace the 1980s plumbing with some modern equipment. He did mention that the modern equipment wasn't needed, but I didn't want to trust my plumbing to some old, leaky parts. And I got bonus help from him hooking up my dryer which I didn't realize was not setup! Great job and so happy to have been put in contact with Darwin and Surfline Plumbing! read more

After a friend's recommendation, I called Surfline. It took a few calls to get someone, but I kept calling because of the referral. Darwin and a couple of his associates came out and did the four small projects we had. Great, I thought all was good. UNTIL... A faucet we've had trouble with - that he attempted a fix - immediately started leaking again. Fine, I don't blame Darwin because the faucet has been trouble. So I tell him and he asks me to send the faucet model info. so he can order a part, which I did on Oct 16, 2015 and he replied he'd order the part. That's the last I've heard from him. Have left three voice messages and several texts, but nothing. On Nov 13, I texted to please do us the courtesy of saying whether he's still waiting for the part or if he won't be doing the work. Nothing. No response. Very irresponsible. Can you imagine if this was a major project or problem? I recommend you find a different plumber; a person who is good for his word. read more

Darwin is the best plumber I have dealt with in the South Bay. I had been having flow control issues with my shower faucet for some time and needed to get it fixed before I turned my house into a rental. I am pretty handy and took a stab at fixing it myself, but the one-piece shower knob is pretty complex internally and I could not fix it. I had two other plumbers look at it while they were fiixing other items in my house and they could not fully diagnose the issue without charging me more money for extended troubleshooting. Darwin was a referral from my real estate agent so I gave him a call on a Friday. I was traveling for work that weekend so I was not going to be able to meet him at the house, which was not a problem for him since I had a lock box with a key on the door. He came over the following week while I was away and was able to immediately diagnose the problem and provided me an estimate and photos via text since I was traveling. I agreed to the recommended repair (at a great price!) and he had it fixed and cleaned up before I returned from my trip on Thursday evening and before my new tenants moved in on Sunday. Overall, dealing with Darwin was a great experience and far aboove any I have had with any plumber in the past.
