Our friends got married at the resort last week. Over 30 of us stayed from Saturday-Saturday. Check in was a little weird since there is no one at the desk after 5pm but you can't check in until 4pm. We were not able to get our wristbands until the next morning but you had to have a wristband to be on the property. Our room was on the 5th floor, view was decent. The only downside is all pictures from balcony will have electrical wires through pic. We originally booked room for Saturday-Wednesday but was able to get the week off work, the owner let us extend until Friday for a small fee. If we would've known we were staying longer we would've booked a bigger room. Even for the 2 of us this room was small. The furniture took over the room leaving very little space for luggage. More than half the closet is taken by fridge, microwave and safe. When we arrived our toilet would flush but not fully, you had to wiggle the handle and flush multiple times. We reported this to the desk, a few hours later a repair man came to snake it and destroyed the inside of the toilet with the metal snake. He showed us that we had to hold down flush it, wiggle handle 3 times and then flush again. First time I tried this the toilet overflowed and water went EVERYWHERE!! We went back downstairs and they put in 3 tickets, 1 to have someone look at toilet, 2 for someone to clean up the water and 3 for more towels since I used everyone to stop the water from leaking. Long story short the manager came up to clean bathroom herself and the toilet was never really fixed, we had to use other guests bathroom or the one in the lobby. We sent the owner a text and all they did was thank us for the feedback... the wedding was beautiful the rooms not so much. read more

Only has one big pool which isn't even cold most the time and gets overly filled within minutes their 2 hot tubs and 1 kiddie pool + regular pool doesn't help , the room we got had small roaches and someone took the batteries out our thermostat so the ground started making vapor drops and the floor was wet and the room hot asf . We called staff and nobody picked up . Rooms aren't spacious for the price and the amenities aren't all that not worth it imo . read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could, the big lady with the blondish hair is rude and very unprofessional, my family's 4th of July experience was completely horrible due to this resort, they continuously profiled us and made us feel stupid when we asked why the room we booked didn't have a sofa bed when it was supposed to have one. I would not recommend this resort to anyone, please book somewhere else. I wish someone would've told us that this resort was trash before we booked. read more

We came to Surfside for our 25th wedding anniversary and have stayed at many different condo from Pensacola throughout Destin, I can can say with out a doubt his was one of my worst experiences. The parking was questionable and then my 20 year old daughter brought up a valid point after Sunday when people from the balcony below yelled at someone parking. Which cause the three condo buildings around to watch and then for people to clap after they parked, but the next next morning my daughter said mom you do realize the room number is on the parking pass. She is a 20 year old female, if she was traveling with just girls how safe is that if someone was to follow them or even for males or for the parking guy because that was an altercation. Really bad idea never had I seen that before unless you had assigned parking and you don't nor do you have guarded parking. No security what so ever, come 8 to 9 this place and the condos behind become one big party. You you looking for spring break or no sleep this is the place. No sound ordnance. People play music like it is a dance and yell from ground to the balconies for requests. The condo behind shines lights over to this one and it isn't kids it is adults. I would like to say that the condo across are better but the have a clear view into your rooms. Parking is limited here also. Seems like people are fighting for parking spots a lot. The beach is beautiful. If you are here for the beach get there early. read more

OH BOY! Get ready for a long one. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. When I checked into my room, I found not 1 but 2 people in my room. They were on not one but both of my queen beds in the room. I backed out of the room and went back downstairs to find that THE STAFF GAVE THE GUESTS IN THE ATTACHED ROOM PERMISSION TO ENTER AND USE MY BOOKED ROOM(people I did not come with or know at all) because the door conjoining our rooms was left unlocked by the cleaning staff. I tell the staff I'd like my room cleaned and they need to give me new sheets. The staff fails to tell the managers that I have requested this, so I sat in my room waiting for fresh sheets all night only for them not to come. Only after a long conversation with the property manager (Angelica)and 24hrs later do I recieve my clean sheets. This manager kept telling me that she's getting conflicting story's from me, the women in the attached room and the staff. Thats not my problem, there were people in my room and I had to sleep on a bed that other people had been in and on. I went back and forth with the staff and air bnb for my entire stay trying to resolve this only to be told they will do nothing for me but refund the cleaning me. And they only did that AFTER I told them that I knew the other women got a refund. The staff admitted fault over and over yet I recieved no compensation. I was them made to feel uncomfortable by the staff because I threw the main employee i dealt with under the bus. This lady with long grey hair, had the audacity to then bring UP ISSUES WITH MY PERSONAL GUEST WHEN I CHECKED HER IN. SHE PLACED THE BLAME ON HER MAMAGERS AND THE OFF SITE STAFF AND COULDNT OWN UP TO THE FACT THAT I ASKED FOR CLEAN SHEETS AND DID NOT RECIEVE THEM. How incredibly unprofessional of her. My stay was uncomfortable due to the issue of people in my room, an unclean condo and a staff that made it clear I was unwanted. Do not stay here. Don't book air bnb here. The view is not worth the hassle of false advertising and a staff that is quick and willing to neglect you. Not to mention my room had no way to make coffee, who has a coffee maker and no filtersM and a broken bed. This was a disaster save yourself the hassle and book a hotel at least they'll take care of you. PS I booked room 808b and they booked room 808a which is advertised as entire condos. Haha they're not its a condo split in half and you WILL hear everything going on in the attached room. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. Stayed in room 711a Oct 2023. I spent more time being frustrated before even going on the trip trying to get access to the pool before the 4pm checkin. And once there and checking into the room found other things to be frustrating that never got addressed properly. Never in my life have I gotten shut out for using facilities when arriving earlier than check-in. I understood the ridiculously strict check in time of 4pm but I wasn't trying to get in the unit I just wanted to use the pool when arriving at 9:00am on a Saturday. Seriously the HOA operations manager is beyond ridiculous. Once getting into the unit which was 75degrees on a fall day you are only allowed to set ac temp to 72degrees which is ridiculous. The virtual tour of unit 711A showed a small white refrigerator that took up the entire space allotted for it. Picture attached. I've stayed in many resort style studio condos and the refrigerator ALWAYS had a freezer component. Upon arrival there is a much smaller black refrigerator in the allotted space with a huge gap in between top of fridge and counter with NO FREEZER component. So Get this the closest ice machine was on the lobby level of a 16 floor resort. AND they charged 25cents for a small bucket of ice!! Unacceptable and when I contacted Vacasa they gave me the lame story that a refrigerator was not listed as in the unit. They protect their amenities like they are some thing special and they are not, so like the non existent early checkin their checkout policy is the same. Once you check out at 10am you are NO LONGER allowed to use their facilities. How stupid is that. Stay away if you don't like being frustrated. read more

Centrally located, dated but our condo was comfortable. The walkway to the beach is helpful with children in tow. There are only 2 elevators available for the entire building. Getting up or down during check in/out times was a headache and the reason I am only giving two stars. read more

My husband and I got a VRBO, The condo is very nice and well taken care of. We ate at the local restaurant located inside the condo. We had a fabulous server with great food. A little pricey but well worth it. I highly recommend that you try it out. read more

The refrigerator barely worked but our shower head got fixed the next day.. the view was beautiful a quiet clean place. Ocean is beautiful they could update the chairs they are a little uncomfortable but other than that it was a decent stay read more

First trip to this area , went with family , the resort was very clean , check in process was easy asked for early in- no problem, room was clean, beds were comfortable, couch not so much, large ice maker wasn't working but we bought bag of ice & freezer had ice maker so no problem, was issued arm bands told to wear at all times to be on resort , was told to come back next day for new band, finally after a couple days was given rubber one but never saw anyone that seemed to care out us coming / going around resort , was a little disappointed pool bar was closed. Nice pool, realtor that worked Vacasa was friendly, wish they had Things to do book, restaurant books & local map on site would have been helpful as this was my first trip . All in all was very enjoyable read more

Weekend Studio Getaway (Room 711 A) The location of the resort was great, right across the street from the beach. It is a dated resort that could use some updating as well as the room. The room with small balcony is located on the back of the building facing another condo and the top of the parking garage which includes the basketball court, tennis court, volley ball and shuffle board. The "ocean view" can be seen by leaning over the balcony and looking to the right of the building at a distance. The bay can also be seen miles away from the balcony. The room was a hotel like room /studio with a sink when you first walk in, a bathroom with shower and 2 queen beds. There is a microwave, small fridge and coffee pot. They did not supply bath soap in our room but they did have towels, wash cloths, shampoo, conditioner and dish soap they also had an iron, a few plates, utensils, a George Foreman grill and a blender. The beds were comfortable but the room was very bright and missing slats in the vertical blinds. There is also an adjoining door to the condo next door as you first walk in. Our only complaint was the room could have been cleaned much better there were candy wrappers, a flip flop and a CBD bottled of something left under the beds from previous guests and dust all around the edges by the beds and nightstand . The rest of the room, bathroom and linens were clean and the room smelled fresh and clean upon arrival . Our stay was great and we enjoyed the resort amenities, we would stay here again. The on-site restaurant was really good and updated. They also have a spa, pool, hot tubs and a gym. We rented through VRBO which went through Vacasa and our room was $53 a night plus cleaning and fees. Totally unheard of price across from the beach and in a resort, so we can't complain there at all. read more

I had my wedding there recently and although the resort's venues, food, scenery, Tiki Bar, and beach were great for wedding activities (which is why they get 2 stars instead of 1), I do NOT recommend that you have your guests stay there. The resort is incredibly unorganized when it comes to managing their reservations and providing any type of acceptable customer service. As the bride that recommended this resort for my guests to stay in for convenience, I was embarrassed. They called and cancelled people's reservation one week before the event when they had booked 3 months in advance without offering any alternative leaving us scrambling to find a new place for them. Another one of my guests had a broken A/C at check in. There was a broken faucet in my bathroom. 2 families had rooms next door to each other and the adjoining door between their rooms wouldn't lock. Guests were supposed to be given 10% off for staying there for our wedding and that never happened either. Overall, there was just VERY poor and broken communication trying to confirm reservations, nobody seemed to know what was going on, and it was difficult to get in touch with anyone. This place clearly puts no effort into providing decent customer service and units don't appear to be maintained very well. Furthermore, we had a 911 emergency occur after the reception, and there wasn't an employee to be found anywhere to offer any assistance. The posted "after hours number" routed us to some out of state answering service. If you are having your wedding or hosting an event in the area, save yourself stress and frustration and stay somewhere else. We have stayed in multiple other places in Destin, and have never had this kind of experience anywhere else. read more

The view was about the only thing I liked about my stay. There are 2 elevators for the whole resort. There is a service elevator guests are not allowed to use. The stairs look dangerous and hard to find. Exit arrows point to the walls. Our TV in the room was so small and hard to see from the bed. Even though your room comes with a parking pass good luck finding a spot! Our patio door lock was broken. There was hair in my shower. Then I left before the front desk opened and left my resort wristbands on the table. The front desk called me twice saying they aren't there. That is a lie and they know it. The front desk staff is all young except one lady. My thought is someone is taking them and selling them to their friends and getting guests charged. They said they told me about a drop box, but they didn't. Also, we were on the elevator and one of the owner families got on with us. The wife looked at Mr and my boyfriend like we were beneath her or she was disgusted by us. I would never spend that amount of money to stay there again!!!! read more

The person at the front desk was condescending in her remarks that this was outlined in the reservation when I booked it. Me and my husband went to Surfside resort in Destin Flordia this past weekend. The room was not up to par on cleanliness. Not worth the money we paid. The shower had a razor left in it with a white substance beside it. There was a razor under the microwave. The blow dyer was broken. Half the blinds were missing. The missing blinds were in the closet floor and under the bed. Trash was left in the bathroom trash can with no bag. Only one chair was on the balcony so we couldn't even sit together. You had to pay for ice out of the ice machine but they did not give anything to put the ice in. Only one of the hot tubs were working. When I asked for an ice bucket for the ice, I was told to use a bowl out of the room. No bowls were in our room. Then was told they are not a hotel. I told them they sure are set up like one. We booked here because stayed about 5 years ago and they were great then. They are ran down now. read more

We stayed at this resort because friends were having a beach wedding here. The location was perfect but we definitely had issues with our unit (1508). This was a nice size three bedroom with three bathrooms. The problem was None of the outlets in any of the bathrooms were working-- all the gfi outlets had been tripped and could not be reset. When I emailed our contact person through LSI Life Companies concerning this issue, we did not get a response. There were also other outlets that were not working throughout the unit--Very concerning! It also took two days to be informed of what the WiFi password was. We were also woken up at 1:00 in the morning by a security guard letting people into our unit! He was very apologetic but this never should have happened. We had an 11:00 check out time on our last day and our door code was shut off at 10:00--very inconvenient. Overall we loved Destin but will not stay at Surfside Resorts again. read more

We stayed in condo 507 and it was not a pleasant accommodation. The condo was very dirty upon arrival with dirty black carpet spots to where we had to put towels down so we could walk on it. The floors were sticky and no mop to clean so I had to get on my hands and knees to clean. The towel was black when I was done and that was only in the kitchen. There was sand and food under the cushions of the pull out couch and no sheets to even cover the mattress. The master shower door was full of soap scum on the bottom half. There were white stains on the red couch. The master toilet broke and we ended up fixing it ourselves. The garbage disposal didn't work and we requested maintenance however, they never came. Again, we fixed ourself because the sink wasn't draining. To make matters worse was waking up to roaches in the kitchen. I can add more complaints but I'll stop as this should be enough. For the money we spend, this is not a condo I would suggest to anyone. We decided to leave early rather than staying another night. I hope this helps stop anyone from staying in there. read more

Helloooooooo, 1985! If you're looking for an over-priced blast from the past, look no further than the Surf Side Resort. Aside from the carpet, nothing has been updated in our unit in three decades. The laundry room door was falling apart, the patio doors were hit or miss - some opened, some did not. Bathroom doors did not lock. The shower faucet had two settings: scald or freeze. The patio furniture was PVC based and seemed to crack and sink every time it was used by adults weighing 150-175lbs. The master bed had a nice memory foam pad, but beds in the secondary bedroom were comparable to wet plywood, and I woke up last night to pull a bug off of the back of my neck. As for the building & management, you're in for a treat there as well! Before our stay, we called to inquire about cancelling the reservation due to bacteria reports in the water near Miramar. The booking manager's response was "Sure, we'll cancel it for you. But you ain't getting your money back!" Since it was within two weeks of our stay, she was right - policy didn't allow cancellation, but I felt like this could have been handled a little more professionally. Next up, let's talk parking. If you have an oversized vehicle or a cargo box on our vehicle, good luck! The parking deck says it's 6'10". Since my vehicle (with cargo box) with 6'9", I thought I'd be fine, and I did get through the entrance. However that quickly turned bad as my cargo box scraped against the pipes they installed on the ceiling of the deck. Fortunately, I was able to get out without too much damage, but then I had to park on the street since there was no parking available in the outdoor lot. In a hurry during your stay? They've not very accomodating there either. No exaggeration, during our checkout today, it took us 20 minutes to finally get an elevator from the 7th floor to the lobby. There are only two elevators (plus a service elevator) servicing the building, and that is far too few for as many rental guests as they have. 8 fully loaded elevators opened on our floor as we waited, all packed with people and luggage carts. Eventually, we were able to get on the service elevator and make it downstairs. Once you're out of the building, the fun continues. Surf Side has a private bridge connecting the tiny resort pool deck to the beach, but it's useless if you're handicapped or are rolling anything over to the beach. If either of those apply to you, you'll have to walk out the front drive, cross the street, and go through the private gate that leads down to the beach. While we were there, the handicap ramp was not open, and though materials for repairs were present, we didn't see any work taking place. As for the gate? On our first day it became stuck, leaving us with the option to pull our wagon 100yds down the sand to the public access stairs, or carrying a wagon up a narrow, switchback staircase to the bridge. The chair & umbrella "bros" simple told us the handicap ramp was closed and watched us walk up to the gate (carrying a full wagon) without telling us the gate was having problems. Then security came to help. They couldn't open it. I finally took the time to assess the problem and was able to dislodge the gate on my own - no apologies & no help from the staff. And to really rub it in, the guys moving chairs then walked up and exited the gate and explained to the security guard that it had been stuck. Obviously, I highly recommend that you stay away from this place if you're looking to have a great vacation. If you're looking for Rodeway Inn accommodations with a nice view & Hilton prices, maybe this is for you. But my guess is you can probably find a better experience for comparable money elsewhere... read more

The room itself was nice, and the beach is amazing. The management of this facility is HORRENDOUS! We were notified after 3 days there that the management had made a mistake in our booking and charged us an additional 180 dollars. They also wanted to charge us an additional 368 for another day that we were already "supposedly" booked through. The front desk manager was condescending, rude, and has a take it or leave it attitude. We ended up cutting our vacation a day short because we refused to give in to this power drunk woman's demands. We observed numerous altercations with other guests at the desk. She is confrontational and crooked. I do not recommend this resort in the least bit unless you find an owner to book directly with. If not, the other neighboring resorts are equally nice. read more

This place is dated . Should be shut down for renovations and customer service training . I have stayed at 5stars resorts and there is no charge for early checkin if the room is ready . We arrived early to avoid heavy traffic to attend a wedding rehearsal . After driving 6 hours to be told by a rude front desk representative " the room is ready , but if you want to check in it will be 75.00 dollars " WHAT?????? What a scammmmm !!! I told her I have to freshen up for a wedding rehearsal at 11 A.M. which was held here , her advice was to freshen up in any one of their public restrooms which were dirty !!! Needless to say we sat out on the beach till rehearsal . Then Checked with front desk again around 130pm and asked if it was late enough to check in , she said no , 4pm or 75.00 . We then stayed on the beach till 330p got our stuff from the car and proceeded to check in . I asked Jake what was the earliest time to checkin without penalty he said 2pm . The other person never mentioned such and made us wait till 4p . Jake was very pleasant . We addressed the behavior of our first representative to the manager and the inconveniences we experienced to the manager Diane , who was also a rude sarcastic person , And she pretty much told us it it what it is . Very poor customer service very dirty place to stay . I will not reccomend staying here . There is an embassy suites nearby . Good luck to you if you decide to stay at this location . read more

DO NOT WAISTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME HERE!!! We were staying here for a bachelorette weekend when we arrived we were put in a dirty outdated room that could not fit the 4 of us. We booked a king and queen bed and was put in a room with two full size beds and no walking room! We had to practically crawl over the bed to reach the balcony which was the nastiest one I have ever seen.There was sand all over the bed, piles of sand on the floor, and it smelt terrible. We decided to go get dinner after using the bathroom and only being in there for 10 mins. When I notified the front desk they told me they could put me in a room with a king and queen bed (like I booked) but I will be charged $75 cleaning fee since I used their toilet paper. The new room we were put in wasn't the cleanest and the toilet didn't work. We told them about this and their janitor unlocked our door and walking in without knocking at 8 in the morning! He never fixed the toilet didn't flush the whole weekend. When I asked to speak to a manager JAKE at the front desk told me he wasn't allowed to give out their number? And he was the assistant manager so I could only deal with him. Please do not waste tour time and money here! Their cleaning staff stays at the front desk gossiping the whole time and didn't clean any of the rooms good at all, the staff needs to be fired and the place needs new management! read more

I have never taken the time to write a bad review of anything, however, I would like to save someone else who is looking to book at this resort from making a mistake. Upon arrival the refrigerator did not work, there was mildew and mold on the ceiling and the worst was 2 days into the trip there was RODENT FECES found beside the bed. The room looked as if it was not even cleaned. When this was brought to the attention of guy at the front desk (who was doing all he could do, in his position) we were offered another room, where we were told they would waive the cleaning fee. Days later when the manager of the hotel contacted us, we were told that we were being charged for the cleaning fee of the room we were moved to. We were being charged to stay in a room with rodent feces. In addition, the manager was very nasty and unprofessional. I would advise anyone looking for a clean place to stay at the beach, to not book with Surfside. read more

Dated condo complex with a small pool that was filled with small kids. Has a nice walkway over the street to the beach but you have more than a flight of stairs to go down & back up. Each condo is owned independently so make sure to check photos for accomodations. Two elevators & often had to wait to find one that wasn't already full. Covered parking garage is nice but if you get in late, parking can be a challenge & the garage doesn't have exits at each end so you can find yourself trapped trying to back up or do a turn-about to get out to get to another floor. Has charcoal grills available in a common area & saw them in use every evening. This is on Miramar Beach & kind of off the beaten path of the busy hwy & Destin Harbor Walk area. Beach is white sand & very clear ocean, can wade out quite far. No shells to be found. Can't see sunsets from this location. read more
