Fantastic stay secluded off the main area of Destin gives you that private feel. Has a gate entry where main check building. The staff here is fabulous, friendly and welcoming. There is RV parking spots, fully furnished villas with all the cooking hardware you need, hotel style rooms facing the ocean, has a pool, kids splash pad and playground, relax outside with patio chairs to see the sunset, has a nice dock to fish off of and Marina area to rent jet skis, pontoons and fishing charters when in season - starts March 16. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this area.

Wonderful experience and recommended! Booked the reservation for a week long vacation for mid-August in February. The price is very economical especially given the Destin area and the amenities. Check-in went smoothly however the desk closes at 2200 and they lock the doors at 2100. The clerk gave a map of the area and suggested Eglin Beach Park for $5 a day but explained there was limited accessibility and John Beasley Park is free as an alternative for beach accesses. Both are less than a 10 minute drive from the Recreation Center. The pool is very nice and overlooks the bay. There are ample chairs and tables lining the sea wall to enjoy the view especially during the stunning sunsets. There's adequate parking although the spaces tend to be a little narrow. There's 2 laundry rooms- one for the RV park and the other more for those staying in the rooms. Additionally there's 2 little gyms, one in the conference center and the other on the second floor of one of the hotel-like buildings. The equipment appears almost new but there's only a few pieces in each location. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The 2 Queen Bed Suite has a door separating the living/kitchenette area from the bedroom and bathroom areas for privacy. Ample clean towels were provided every couple days. The other guests were respectful of space, conscious of quiet hours and very friendly. This is a hidden gem on the Emerald Coast. Don't expect the luxurious but you can expect decent accommodations. Loved it!

I felt so safe and secure and really enjoyed staying here with family in their RV. Didnt forget to take pics for you guys! I'm really pleased with the staff and even all the friendly neighbors, which is of course outside of the control of MWR Recreation, but still. Everyone is here to just enjoy and relax. The pool was always packed, so I passed on it, but I did venture out and try paddleboarding, riding jet skis, and we even took a pontoon out to Crab Island (highly recommended!). There's a lot of seating near the water to relax and catch the sunset. You're not far down the street from all the Destin shenanigans and tourist attractions either. Great spot. Bathrooms aren't 5 star, but they're maintained and didn't gross me out like others have, so I was content. Just a great place to be for a family trip. I'd love to come back. Be sure to take the boatus.org test before trying to rent a motorized water vehicle. Not happening here without it captain.

How can anyone rate this place less than 5 stars? It has just about everything we needed. We just wish the RV sites weren't so in demand and that we could have stayed a little longer. It's right on the bay and there's a swimming pool, wonderful laundry, kids beach area, fishing pier and even a water park for kiddies. At the marina kayaks and paddle boats are available for renting. This is a great place to spend a few nights.

Great location, sits right on the bay. Good fishing and marina. Rental are available and affordable. About 3 miles 15 mins from Henderson State Park where we went everyday for the beach. There's a sitting area with tables next to the bay where many view the sunset. has nice pier and a decent pool. Amenities are standard for a MWR. Customer Service was OK

This is a great vacation spot for military members and veterans to go with their families for a getaway. This is not your Hilton or Marriott but a clean and comfortable place to stay on the water. It's maybe a mile to the Gulf of Mexico. You can rent suites, hotel rooms or villas. I was in the 2 bedroom villa which was very comfortable. They also have RV spaces. There is a pool and splash pad and a nice pier. During peak season you can rent pontoon boats, jet skis or charter a boat at their marina. They have GREAT prices!

We traveled from Oklahoma to enjoy the beaches in Florida and they had a Christmas special at $36.00 per night if we reserved 7 nights! What a deal we thought, but after two nights we wish we had stayed in a nice hotel at 4 times what we were paying. The facility was old, and in dire need of remodeling. and the the floor was worse than dirty, our flip flops were black on the bottoms, the toilet had mold inside, the refrigerator was rusted, and the bed was so hard we both ached every morning. After three nights we inquired what the cost would be if we checked out early and was told that if we departed early the reservation would revert back to the usual rate of $96.00 per night Vs the $36.00 per night special. So we reluctantly remained the full 7 nights and checked out and drove off not even looking in our rear view mirror.. We won't return, even at $36.00 per night it wasn't worth the drive.

Throughout the years I've stayed in almost every condo on the first floor, and 209 and 211 on the second floor. Every time it has been wonderful. Check in is at 4, which is kind of late. But if you show up early and your room has already been cleaned and inspected they will almost always allow you in. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience with them. They always greet you with a smile and are super kind. Almost every condo has a king size bed, 2 bunk beds, and a pull out couch, so you can easily fit 6 comfortably. There is a full kitchen with cookware, 2 bathrooms, and one shower. From the living area there's a back porch that overlooks the gorgeous powder white sand and emerald coast. You're provided with 2 chairs and an umbrella. On the first day you go to the beach you can reserve your spot for the week so I would recommend getting to the beach early the first morning. There's also a pool and hot tub in the complex for when you need a break from the beach. One huge plus of staying here is that there is only 3 stories. The beach area behind Destin Beach Club is reserved for only residents so the beach is never overly crowded at this condo. Since you're right on scenic highway 98, you're close to everything there is to see and do in Destin. There's a plethora of restaurants, souvenir shops, and shops. You're also right next to the Destin harbor and all the new things it has to offer. Because of the great staff, amenities, view, and less crowded beach area, I would definitely recommend Destin beach club to anybody who is traveling down to Destin. Absolutely love this place, so many happy memories. Can't wait to be back!

Traveling during peak summer can sometimes mean crowds or lagging service, but this resort delivered the exact opposite. From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs. Our room was immaculate, cool, quiet, and serviced impeccably every day. The refreshment/ snack center lines the breezeway onto the expansive veranda and steps down to the beach. It's stocked with guests favorites to enjoy 24/7. A glass door refrigerator is kept stocked with variety of Coca Cola brand soft drinks & bottled water. Lower shelves are kept well stocked with all kinds of Mars and Hershey candies from Milky Ways to M&Ms. Pretzels, Sun Chips and more varieties of Miss Vicky's potato chips. Starbucks drink machine rounds it out with a variety of hot drinks and iced coffee, made to order in under two minutes! Chocolate chip cookies fresh from the kitchen always available in registration area. Meals from their five star award winning pinched and culinary team can't be over stated. And the beach area (my reason for choosing Henderson) is gorgeous and pristine! -- it's lovely and never overcrowded, with staff constantly checking in to offer fresh towels, cold drinks, lunch and shaded setups. The dining options offered incredible variety and top-tier quality every single meal. All meals are à la cart. I enjoy this freedom to purchase specifically what I want rather than carrying a degree of cost for courses I don't order. Our meals were absolutely perfection! What truly sets Henderson Park Inn apart is the genuine warmth of the entire team. They didn't just manage a busy July week; they made us feel completely relaxed, pampered, and at home. Now at home we've realized this one week revitalized us better than two weeks anywhere else could've. Destin is a convenient location for most of the southeast. We live 6 1/2 hours drive away- pretty typical distance for many people in the southeast. But to stay at this amazing 5 Star resort right on the beach so reasonably close to home is a kind gift from God. Home now, refreshed and stocked with happy new memories too. This July 30 was our 50th wedding anniversary. Just can't put into words how wonderful time, even an over night Henderson Inn always is. This was our fourth visit!

When we arrived, no one asked us if we needed help with our luggage. We made our way to the Presidential Suite and it was filthy. The room size was massive but they clearly never cleaned it well. The couches and carpet all stained, the vents had 1 inch layers of dust all over, the fan was covered in dust balls and dust layers, some vents were falling out of the ceiling with no screws, the tile floor cracked, carpet has nails popping through and there is dirt and dust all over the floors from not being vacuumed or cleaned. There was also a huge roach on the floor which didn't add for an additional touch. It's Florida so I'm trying to be accepting of palmetto roaches but it wasn't cool finding that on your already filthy $1000 room floor. We were incredibly disappointed. For over $1000 this is not what we expected. We did share this with management and our next two nights we were supposed to stay in the queen room, was then adjusted to the king room. While the king room was definitely much cleaner, this room was also hundreds of dollars less in value. It's just very disappointing to pay over $1000 to have a room you can't sit on the couch, or walk the floors without your feet covered. Aside from the room, we also had a pretty awful breakfast experience. Eggs cold, and my husband's avacado toast was missing the egg. We sent it back and it was fixed but that lost our trust in the restaurant so we ate out instead. Our experience with the rental chairs on the beach was not good the first day either. The guy told us there were chairs set up, we walked over and there wasn't. He didn't offer to add anymore, so my husband put ours out for us. We really felt they lacked the customer service feature here. This place lacked the prestige we hoped for and we decided we wouldn't return here again. While the sunset and sunrise are just breathtaking, the hospitality and attention to detail here is lacking and not for us at this price. It seems people have been coming here for so many years they have blinders up and are missing how much is falling through the cracks or even noticing any issue. We would not stay here again and definitely do not believe 4 stars is a true depiction of this place, it could use work and improvements.

Overall nice building and we enjoyed the gym, pickle ball and basketball court. Here are the cons: - It's odd that there were no beach chairs or toys in our condo or the office to borrow for your stay. There are chairs to rent for $55. I did see some condos had them in the garage space though. - The water in our unit tasted and smelled like chlorine - leaving three of us with upset stomachs until we could buy water. We were able to drink from the water fountain in the lobby and that water tasted good. - There were very little notes/instruction left in our condo for how to navigate this large resort. The map we got upon entry was not detailed. It was frustrating when we arrived. Where do we park? Where is the fitness center and what are the hours? How do we borrow pickle ball or basketball equipment? Where is the office? Where do we eat? Get coffee, etc? How do we use TV? - The pool is advertised as 'heated' but it was COLD. I'm thankful that the hot tub was fairly large! There were some little things the owners/management could do to make a 5-star experience. I did find out that you could go to the main office (by Ruth Chris steakhouse), and they allow you to borrow pickle ball equipment and a basketball. It would be awesome if they allowed you to checkout chairs or beach toys and bikes. It would also be nice if they sold coffee! The coffee shop next door doesn't open until 10. Overall, we had a nice week. The highlight was the view and being able to watch the sunrise and sunset from the patio.

** 1 Star -- and honestly, even that is too high for this place.**…read more I do **not** recommend staying here. My family vacations in Florida every year, and this is by far the worst condo we've ever stayed in. We were so disappointed that we actually left early just to avoid sleeping in those beds another night. The condo itself was dirty, and we found bugs inside. The hallways smelled terrible, likely due to ongoing construction, which made the entire building feel unclean. The shower was awful. The water pressure was so intense it actually made my back go numb, yet the bathtub barely drained, leaving you standing in about four inches of dirty water while trying to shower. It was disgusting. The unit was much smaller than expected. The bedrooms were cramped, and the guest room had full-size (double) beds that were incredibly uncomfortable. If you're an adult, expect your feet to hang off the end. There wasn't enough room to move around comfortably, and the patio was tiny with nowhere near enough seating for everyone to enjoy it together. The coffee maker didn't even make hot coffee. There was also no washer and dryer in the condo. Instead, you're expected to use coin-operated laundry at $2.50 per wash and $2.50 per dry. For what you're paying to stay here, that's unacceptable. Parking was another nightmare. If you return later in the evening, don't expect to find a parking space. We were told to park across the street at the Days Inn and walk back. Meanwhile, there were plenty of vehicles in the lot without parking tags, yet security apparently wasn't checking them. That makes absolutely no sense. The pool was consistently overcrowded. The posted bather load is 24 people, yet there were often 50 or more people packed into the pool every day. It also appeared that many people using the pool weren't even staying at the property. We watched people pull into the parking lot and head straight to the pool, and because there's no gate or controlled access from the beach, beachgoers could simply walk in and use the pool as well. It felt like the pool was essentially open to the public, making it even more crowded and taking away from the experience for paying guests. The beach setup was frustrating as well. The condo doesn't provide beach chairs, so you'll need to rent them. Front-row chairs were already booked, leaving us to pay around $60 per day for second- or third-row seating. You're also not allowed to bring your own beach umbrella. Tents are permitted, but only behind the multiple rows of rental umbrellas, making it difficult to enjoy the beach unless you spend even more money. When it rained, part of the parking area near the pool flooded, making that entrance unusable. The trash chutes are only located on one side of the building, which is inconvenient depending on where your room is. We brought several of these concerns to the front desk, but they seemed completely uninterested. Their response was basically, "We'll let security know," regardless of the issue. Nothing was addressed during our stay. The only positive thing I can say is that the location is good. Unfortunately, the location alone doesn't make up for the dirty conditions, uncomfortable accommodations, poor maintenance, lack of amenities, parking problems, overcrowded facilities, and unhelpful staff. Save your money and book somewhere else. There are far better places to stay in this area. I will never stay here again, and I'll continue telling friends and family to avoid this property.

Drip coffee pot, but you can p/u filters @Walmart, which is very close. I would rate room 4/5 stars. Keep in mind, depending on which room you get, you will hear construction late into night and starting early in morning. View was nice from porch but it is West facing so not full view of beach (as back of property rooms) This property was a drag, because it is UNDER CONSTRUCTION!! Outside pool/kids water area are closed, however you can use indoor pool, which looked dirty to me, but there was construction going on all around that one, too, so may be why it seemed that way. Handicap ramp only gets you down one flight of stairs, but you'll have two more flights if you want to go onto the beach. Gym is a complete joke, and dangerous OLD equipment makes it not worth using, so we walked and worked out in our room. There is what looks like it used to be a sauna/steam room, but you guessed it, under construction. But no worries, the elevators are also under construction so you can just ride up and down over and over and you'll get the same feel as the sauna. The beach was magnificent (clean and pristine), especially if you go out before 5AM or after 6:30PM, because that's when they start setting up/taking down the commercial umbrellas/chairs that you must purchase. $50 for all day (9-5) or $35 for half day (9-1 or 1-5) or $250 for the week. We brought our own umbrella and chairs and they will not allow you to set up ANY umbrellas (b/c it is hot as he** and they know you can't lay out there for long w/o one). Because of this and the construction being much worse than property let on, we won't stay here again. However, we found a wonderful state park appx 1 mile from property, Henderson State Park. The beaches are gorgeous and not blocked by the stupid commercial umbrellas. We brought our own and we had plenty of room!! Find a different property, at least until they finish updates, however, after reading reviews from 5 years ago stating property was under construction, they may never finish.
