    Bed bugs...

The checkin process was pretty seamless, however the rooms were lackluster. After checking into the room, grabbing something to eat and returning to the room it went downhill. As we prepared to rest for the night one of our guest rooms was infested with bugs. Yuck!! It's late and we cannot switch rooms. Security can only bring us bug spray. WTH!!

Great place in Destin to stay with the family; I believe that most of the units are TimeShares. Our condo was a 3/2 with a very small view of the gulf. Most of the people their our week were older. Had lots of activities and a great beach front. Given the opportunity, I would stay at Holiday Beach Resort again.

We own a unit and have been visiting multiple times per year for 37 years, and this year was just terrible. The property is generally in pretty rough shape. Our unit was dirty upon check in (hair in the bathroom, dirty ash treys, food in the refrigerator, trash in the trashcan) and we had to make 3 requests to have it serviced. Check in was a NIGHTMARE and one of the days, the front office staff actually argued with me to the point where her voice was raised. Ernesto at the front desk is SO rude - every encounter with him was negative. I never saw him smile once or speak with any kind of hospitality. We had a bug issue on the last day (roaches in the bathroom) and when I called to speak to the general manager, left a message and didn't receive a call back until days later after we were already on our way home. We've made some great memories here over the years, but with so many better options now, we will not be returning. Sad to see such a great property so poorly managed.

This is our first visit here and it is sweet.... the staff is outstanding..the rooms are perfect.. the beach is right outside your door. Pristine beach front. Great social activities.. love it!!

Been going since the 80's as a kid. Best place on the gulf coast! Quiet, clean and consistent with large beach in the area.

You have sand, humidity, age, and stains everywhere - recipe for disaster in terms of this carpet. I hated having to wear shoes inside our room due to being grossed out. While in the bedroom, i had a cockroach crawl over my foot, and I was incredibly disgusted. The facility is obviously older, but the carpet situation needs to be addressed for sanitary reasons. Other than that, great beach access, and private chairs/umbrella are provided. Helpful staff, and great balcony view. Everything else was clean.

Throughout the years I've stayed in almost every condo on the first floor, and 209 and 211 on the second floor. Every time it has been wonderful. Check in is at 4, which is kind of late. But if you show up early and your room has already been cleaned and inspected they will almost always allow you in. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience with them. They always greet you with a smile and are super kind. Almost every condo has a king size bed, 2 bunk beds, and a pull out couch, so you can easily fit 6 comfortably. There is a full kitchen with cookware, 2 bathrooms, and one shower. From the living area there's a back porch that overlooks the gorgeous powder white sand and emerald coast. You're provided with 2 chairs and an umbrella. On the first day you go to the beach you can reserve your spot for the week so I would recommend getting to the beach early the first morning. There's also a pool and hot tub in the complex for when you need a break from the beach. One huge plus of staying here is that there is only 3 stories. The beach area behind Destin Beach Club is reserved for only residents so the beach is never overly crowded at this condo. Since you're right on scenic highway 98, you're close to everything there is to see and do in Destin. There's a plethora of restaurants, souvenir shops, and shops. You're also right next to the Destin harbor and all the new things it has to offer. Because of the great staff, amenities, view, and less crowded beach area, I would definitely recommend Destin beach club to anybody who is traveling down to Destin. Absolutely love this place, so many happy memories. Can't wait to be back!

When we arrived, no one asked us if we needed help with our luggage. We made our way to the Presidential Suite and it was filthy. The room size was massive but they clearly never cleaned it well. The couches and carpet all stained, the vents had 1 inch layers of dust all over, the fan was covered in dust balls and dust layers, some vents were falling out of the ceiling with no screws, the tile floor cracked, carpet has nails popping through and there is dirt and dust all over the floors from not being vacuumed or cleaned. There was also a huge roach on the floor which didn't add for an additional touch. It's Florida so I'm trying to be accepting of palmetto roaches but it wasn't cool finding that on your already filthy $1000 room floor. We were incredibly disappointed. For over $1000 this is not what we expected. We did share this with management and our next two nights we were supposed to stay in the queen room, was then adjusted to the king room. While the king room was definitely much cleaner, this room was also hundreds of dollars less in value. It's just very disappointing to pay over $1000 to have a room you can't sit on the couch, or walk the floors without your feet covered. Aside from the room, we also had a pretty awful breakfast experience. Eggs cold, and my husband's avacado toast was missing the egg. We sent it back and it was fixed but that lost our trust in the restaurant so we ate out instead. Our experience with the rental chairs on the beach was not good the first day either. The guy told us there were chairs set up, we walked over and there wasn't. He didn't offer to add anymore, so my husband put ours out for us. We really felt they lacked the customer service feature here. This place lacked the prestige we hoped for and we decided we wouldn't return here again. While the sunset and sunrise are just breathtaking, the hospitality and attention to detail here is lacking and not for us at this price. It seems people have been coming here for so many years they have blinders up and are missing how much is falling through the cracks or even noticing any issue. We would not stay here again and definitely do not believe 4 stars is a true depiction of this place, it could use work and improvements.

(St. Martin 1407) We loved watching the sunrise and sunset from patio. We could also see large fish and stingrays. There was seating for all 8 of us on the patio to enjoy the amazing view. Overall nice building and we enjoyed the gym, pickle ball and basketball court. Here are the cons: - It's odd that there were no beach chairs or toys in our condo or the office to borrow for your stay. There are chairs to rent for $55. I did see some condos had them in the garage space though. - The water in our unit tasted and smelled like chlorine - leaving three of us with upset stomachs until we could buy water. We were able to drink from the water fountain in the lobby and that water tasted good. - There were very little notes/instruction left in our condo for how to navigate this large resort. The map we got upon entry was not detailed. It was frustrating when we arrived. Where do we park? Where is the fitness center and what are the hours? How do we borrow pickle ball or basketball equipment? Where is the office? Where do we eat? Get coffee, etc? How do we use TV? - The pool is advertised as 'heated' but it was COLD. I'm thankful that the hot tub was fairly large! There were some little things the owners/management could do to make a 5-star experience. I did find out that you could go to the main office (by Ruth Chris steakhouse), and they allow you to borrow pickle ball equipment and a basketball. It would be awesome if they allowed you to checkout chairs or beach toys and bikes. It would also be nice if they sold coffee! The coffee shop next door doesn't open until 10. Overall, we had a nice week. The highlight was the view and being able to watch the sunrise and sunset from the patio.

We were even allowed to check in a little earlier as our room was ready. We had room 207. Room: we had a two bedroom. The beds were comfortable. AC worked well. We had a partial view of the ocean. Our room was equipped with a microwave, a refrigerator, TV, a coffee maker with coffee. The refrigerator worked well. We also had an iron and an ironing board. The bathroom: clean and spacious. Water pressure was great. We always had hot water. The toiletries in the bathroom included shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. The body wash was empty. I did ask for it to be replaced twice and it never happened The pool: plenty of lounge chairs, but not as much shade. If you want pool towels, you can get them from the front desk. You do need your key to go in and out. The pool was nice, but full of children. Breakfast: continental breakfast with hot and cold items. You can get waffles, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and protein. Cold items included yogurt and cereal. They had fruits, toast and bagels. The beach is a five minute walk from the hotel. There's also a walkable restaurant nearby called the back porch. Housekeeping does not come every day unless you request it. Check out was easy. We did ask for a late check out and were able to stay till 1230. Everyone that we encountered was nice and friendly.

The gift shop also sells coffee in the mornings (like a gas station type coffee), and the beans are from a local coffee place. So good and smooth. Due to the off season there wasn't much action with the pool or too many people. The pools need a lot of cleaning up, but the hot tub was VERY well taken care of. The splash pad was not working. The resort is right on the beach front and you can hear the waves. Our room was OK, stayed in better, but it was perfect for a short stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and general kitchen tools and plates. Very clean!! The decorations were not over done and represented Florida nicely. The bedroom smelled odd, potentially thinks it's due to the old carpet. The bathroom did not have a shower liner and had to use more towels! The resort has a small grill and bar, that was awesome and delicious drinks!!!! Small mystery.. when we were sleeping we found in the middle of the night the TV was on (which we did not use it at all). We woke up and found the screen was loading. We were a bit flustered and scared that it turned on randomly and was playing.

** 1 Star -- and honestly, even that is too high for this place.**…read more I do **not** recommend staying here. My family vacations in Florida every year, and this is by far the worst condo we've ever stayed in. We were so disappointed that we actually left early just to avoid sleeping in those beds another night. The condo itself was dirty, and we found bugs inside. The hallways smelled terrible, likely due to ongoing construction, which made the entire building feel unclean. The shower was awful. The water pressure was so intense it actually made my back go numb, yet the bathtub barely drained, leaving you standing in about four inches of dirty water while trying to shower. It was disgusting. The unit was much smaller than expected. The bedrooms were cramped, and the guest room had full-size (double) beds that were incredibly uncomfortable. If you're an adult, expect your feet to hang off the end. There wasn't enough room to move around comfortably, and the patio was tiny with nowhere near enough seating for everyone to enjoy it together. The coffee maker didn't even make hot coffee. There was also no washer and dryer in the condo. Instead, you're expected to use coin-operated laundry at $2.50 per wash and $2.50 per dry. For what you're paying to stay here, that's unacceptable. Parking was another nightmare. If you return later in the evening, don't expect to find a parking space. We were told to park across the street at the Days Inn and walk back. Meanwhile, there were plenty of vehicles in the lot without parking tags, yet security apparently wasn't checking them. That makes absolutely no sense. The pool was consistently overcrowded. The posted bather load is 24 people, yet there were often 50 or more people packed into the pool every day. It also appeared that many people using the pool weren't even staying at the property. We watched people pull into the parking lot and head straight to the pool, and because there's no gate or controlled access from the beach, beachgoers could simply walk in and use the pool as well. It felt like the pool was essentially open to the public, making it even more crowded and taking away from the experience for paying guests. The beach setup was frustrating as well. The condo doesn't provide beach chairs, so you'll need to rent them. Front-row chairs were already booked, leaving us to pay around $60 per day for second- or third-row seating. You're also not allowed to bring your own beach umbrella. Tents are permitted, but only behind the multiple rows of rental umbrellas, making it difficult to enjoy the beach unless you spend even more money. When it rained, part of the parking area near the pool flooded, making that entrance unusable. The trash chutes are only located on one side of the building, which is inconvenient depending on where your room is. We brought several of these concerns to the front desk, but they seemed completely uninterested. Their response was basically, "We'll let security know," regardless of the issue. Nothing was addressed during our stay. The only positive thing I can say is that the location is good. Unfortunately, the location alone doesn't make up for the dirty conditions, uncomfortable accommodations, poor maintenance, lack of amenities, parking problems, overcrowded facilities, and unhelpful staff. Save your money and book somewhere else. There are far better places to stay in this area. I will never stay here again, and I'll continue telling friends and family to avoid this property.
