Overpriced food and drinks at a place right next to the beach? Not shocking at all, I knew what I was getting into. And honestly I was really impressed with the back deck area, a pretty good amount of seating and a straight view of the ocean. The food actually was pretty good. But the service, like the other reviews I am now reading agree with, is this place's downfall. You seat yourself, then it takes 30 minutes for someone to comes over. The table wasn't wiped down between groups so we had a visually dirty table. Need menus? Okay 20 minutes after you sit down and then they will disappear for another 20 getting those for you. Then hand them too you and disappear for another 20 and at this point you have decided not only your drink but your entire meal because you have been sitting with the meal for so long. A cocktail, lemonade and water? You guessed it, another 20 minutes. It was like this the entire time. After we got our drinks, it genuinely took 40 minutes for the waitress to come back over to get our food order. It was insane?!! She was nice when she was there but as soon as we finished talking she ran off again before we could ask for refills or where the bathroom was. We were f u l l y ignored and ended up having to spend over two hours for what was supposed to be a quick beach day early dinner. We were starving by the time we got our food and were all pretty hangry. Tiny drinks, my friend's $14 drink was mostly ice and a massive orange slice, like two sips of drink in there. Got elote dip, which was actually pretty good but it came in a cup??? Like a drink cup? (Pictured here) so you couldn't dip your chip in??!? Like just a badly set up business. And had a small handful of chips, not enough for even our small party (3). They need a full overhaul of their system. I saw plenty of servers and the restaurant was a little less than 3/4 full, can't imagine how they operate when at capacity. In summary, not going to go back because nothing was there was worth my money. As a local, just eat at home or bring a picnic if you are visiting. Walked into SurfSide and we could tell they were about 1 minute from walking out that door and ending their shift, but the AMAZING staff saw the weary traveler look in our eyes and said "we got you! Sit anywhere you would like" We had the crispy calamari which was amazing! Even the peppers were fried and my husband was loving that. (The picture isn't the full order because I forgot to take it before we dug in) The sauce it came with was very delicious as well. Of course we ordered the Lobstah roll and 10/10 highly recommend. We chose the warm roll and it came with a hearty serving of French fries, a pickle spear, and Cole slaw. i just left there with my husband and my 19 month old daughter. we got there at 5, linedancing started at 6. my daughter was dancing and loving the music.. mind you, she is 19 months! she caused no chaos. i assume it was a patron, not an employee that shoo'd her off and told me they pay for there spot to dance. has your life sucked the joy out of your soul that my baby dancing bothers you? so i am leaving this note so that staff and management keep an eye out for those patrons. i saw our table spent over 200 meanwhile this patron had one dasani water on hers. who is a more valuable customer? because thanks to her and the lack of the support from staff to put her in her place, we will not be back. as far as the food, it was yummy. lobster roll was fabulous. ahi tacos were good and shrimp platter skimped and kind of sucked. also was given a clam plate at first even though thats not what my husband had ordered. but no biggie. bradley was sweet. read more

We arrived Thursday around 6:20 I will say we were acknowledged after a few minutes so didn't mind waiting a bit for the server to take our drink order as they were busy, however once we put in our beverage order (2 mocktails) took a while but again no problem (I'm a server myself) once we got our drinks we put in calamari, cup chowder and burger cooked med rare. Waited for 1 HOUR with nothing in front of us!!! by now both of us were starving and we were getting cold . We watched a party of 4 put in their order get served ate and left . Aimless direction... I question the profitability of this place. Seriously, there was such lack of management/facilitation, it was literally watching $$$ slip into the ocean. Some tables don't have service, some do...you wouldn't know this from talking to someone who appeared to be an owner. Instead we had to chase down answers, then chase down service, then chase down our order...which we ended up cancelling. Arrived at 7, waited for 30 mins until we finally were told how it all worked. Orange tables are bar order tables(can...someone inform the clientele this...?!?) Eventually we placed an order, after finding a 'order table' (maybe think outside the box on this one?!?) for something to eat... We saw food ordered after ours arrive to other people, we saw a look of panic from our server, we assume it was forgotten to be put in. If such was the case, tell the customer. After the 1 hour mark we cancelled it. I've been far too long in the service economy! But from this you gain a lot of patience and insight, when my patience is stretched too thin, nope! We ordered two waters to accompany our food, so it was $7 for two flimsy waters. Should've just comped the waters for the frustration in my opinion. Not worth the view for the frustration. read more

After waiting for a good 10 minutes at the door to be greeted, we were finally seated, and waited almost 10 minutes for our server to come over. For an appetizer, we chose the bang bang cauliflower and were a bit disappointed. Maybe it's just me, but I thought it would be different the way the menu described it. It is dry cauliflower, with barely any sweet chili or ranch on it. They literally put a drizzle of each. And then I ordered blue cheese on the side; thought it was going to be sauce, nope it was actual blue cheese! This whole dish made no sense. I love flavor, which this had barely a hint of anything. If you're going to order this, I suggest getting extra sauce on the side (the sweet chili and ranch). For my entree, I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon. It was good, but not a lot of dressing and no cheese.... Sounds like this spot is a little skimpy on adding ingredients, plus it's expensive for some of the dishes. I cannot comment on the drinks, but they sound good. If I do come back here, it will be for the drinks and the view. If you're hungry and impatient, I don't suggest coming here cause the service sucks. I guess it's what you pay for to get a beautiful view of the beach. read more

It was Reggae Sunday & a group of us decided to go. I had heard of the band scheduled and felt the $10.admission was definitely fair. It's June & the beach isn't quite in full swing yet...so it really wasn't too crowded. The website read - or I thought it did? That the band plays from 6-9 with breaks. Nope the band..or this band? Played from 7-9 with a couple of breaks. Our server tried her best, serving their famous watered down fruity drinks .. some ordered food. I maybe shouldn't critique it, but nothing looked appetizing. Or fresh for that matter. So not much has changed since my last review other than the night and entertainment we chose. When the band did play it was awesome. DO NOT book with them for a rent out or party. I have had my wedding after party planned with them for 2 years. Communication was awful throughout the whole process . They tried to cancel on me after sending out wedding invites. Due to I was told during my reception that the after party would be moved inside and they would have tables reserved for us. We got to the doors of surfside after the wedding and myself (the bride) and half of my party got denied access because they were at capacity. The situation was handled so poorly, they were trying to blame us, and I was in tears on my wedding day. Extremely unprofessional and point blank rude management with no sympathy. When you are spending $22 for chicken wings, you want them to come with all that was promised in the menu ........ and not wait more than 5 minutes for your server to come over ask if there should be sauces, then have it take 5 more minutes to make his way back. Our server was lovely. However, when the clock struck 9:30pm we began being harassed to leave, despite the full drinks and tons of food we had on the table. the kitchen closed at 9:30pm. Three different employees came to us asking when we planned to leave. Because just two of us were sitting with three sleeping kids after a day at the beach, we needed to wait for my husband to walk to our house to get our car and come back to pick us up. (Lack of Ubers). We explained this three times to three different people and then we're condescendingly told that they closed an hour ago. It was not yet an hour from 9pm. and in our experience, when people still have items to consume, the establishment does not close. TERRIBLE. Won't be back. read more

OK here it is.... Atmosphere and bartender/waiter were very good. My friend got the tuna poke bowl. Tuna was soggy and raw. Did not taste good. Waiter kindly exchanged it for the surfside burger which was good but the orzo salad was spicy and horrible. Waiter again gracsiously exhanged it for a mediocre potato salad. I got the baked haddock which was a small portion and over cooked. I felt bad for the bartender at that point and just ate it. What ever the chef is using for the seasonings are not good. Great location, fair prices and decent food. I had the onion rings (very crisp, beer-battered), I had the clam chowder (fully loaded) and my partner had the ranch chicken sandwich. Service was a bit slow in the beginning but once she came to the table the service was excellent and she checked in often so maybe she wasn't told she had a new table. This is a family friendly restaurant, kids were around but spacious as to where all demographics are welcomed, even sandy feet. They also have music, dancing and in the summer Salisbury has fireworks. If you don't want to eat, they have seating along the glass patio so you get an unobstructed view of the ocean and fireworks (10:15 was too late for this old bird). I think this place is great and Salisbury is a kitschy little gem; like mini Coney Island. Give it a shot, it's beach food! read more

Went here at 4 on a friday was given fliers for a white party ,party of 5 had to wait to be seated by hostess, lots of tables 20 empty , seats at railing open was told you cant sit here unless u eat food . I was presented these seats by your hostess, well the atmosphere changed when light in loffers said you cant sit here, take a rail seat with 5 people waiting for drinks ,well this establishment smells of neglect ,we had already great food and great service at seaglass next door , the deck looled great but your employees are scaring customers away ,weres the manager ,know were to be found only on the phone ,we do not reccomend rainbows to be seen here read more

Bravo to Surfside cafe! We had 11 there today for lunch for my sons late graduation party. They were very accommodating and have us 2 cabanas. Their menu change is a huge success! The apps ( calamari, coconut shrimp , wings ) were fantastic and some of the things were ordered were salmon w jasmine rice, fish tacos, text mex salad and burgers. No one was disappointed and the service was excellent! We tipped the server 30 % ! She was wonderful! Highly recommend Surfside!!!! read more

If you're a fan of eating mediocre food in pitch-black lighting with a waitress who appears to only work for 5 minutes of every hour then this place is for YOU! Before I start, I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because after expressing dissatisfaction with the service, the manager was apologetic, encouraged us to please try again, and provided us a $25 gift card. This was very kind and somewhat unexpected. Still, the only reason we were mildly satisfied with this act of contrition was that the gift card can be used at other restaurants within their cooperation. Where to begin ... One of my best friends reserved a table for 8 for her birthday. A very accommodating hostess assured my friend that although they could not seat 8 people at one table due to Covid, she could seat 2 tables of 4 and push them together. The hostess promised that it would be "just like you're at the same table." Great! We arrive and get to pushing the tables together and are immediately called off by a manager, we gently explain the confusion, the manager says it's certainly not possible to push the tables together. We apologize, chalk it up to a misunderstanding and move the tables back to their original position. And then we wait. And wait, and wait a little longer. While intermittently shouting to our remaining birthday party participants (who were quite a distance away) we wonder who the hell our server is. Our drink order is finally taken. This is even more odd because the restaurant is not particularly busy. And then we wait ... and wait... and wait. For 30 minutes we wait for our DRINKS to arrive. They finally do and they're fine. While dropping off our drinks I kindly say to the waitress, "Could we please place a food order?" She replies with, "I was told this was only a party of 2 and then they gave me 8." She then disappeared into the kitchen for 15 more minutes. While waiting we try to flag someone down to bring us water. No one comes. Finally someone in our party walks up to the bar herself (only servers seem to be using the bar) and orders and delivers the waters back to our table herself. When the waitress finally reappears OVER AN HOUR after we sat down (mind you, it wasn't particularly busy), she stood there with her pad and pen and stared at us, waiting for us to recite our orders. No apology or acknowledgement of our extended wait. We order the bang bang cauliflower and specify no blue cheese. It comes out 25 minutes later and the waitress says, "they put blue cheese on it." We stare at her and she stares back, saying nothing. So we ask, "can they remake it?" She says, "I'm not sure they have any left." Ummmm okay. We ask her to please try. To her credit, 10 Minutes later she brings the cauliflower and it was soup (too bad one poor soul ordered it as her entree). Our food FINALLY came and given how horrific the service was the food was ... fine. Not amazing, but not terrible. The blase attitude of the waitress was honestly the WORST part of this experience. Another odd thing - one member of our party asked for a water. She's given a bottle of Dasani. She asks the waitress if she'll be charged, explaining that tap water is fine. The waitress says "oh, we only give bottled water." Our friend explains that she got tap water from the bar earlier in the meal. The waitress awkwardly says, "Oh... okay I won't charge you." Seems like a very shady way to try to upsell us. FYI: we were charged for the bottled water. All in all: Spend your money at McDonalds. read more

Where to start????? My party and I had a reservation this past Saturday night 8/1/20 for 6PM. We arrived at 5:45 and checked in. We were told our cabana would be ready at 6 and we had it for 2 hours until 8 PM. Our reservation was made a week in advance. At 6 we were told our table was ready. Our party walked in. We went in and was welcomed with a breathtaking view. If I could rate the view and the cabana only I would give it 5 stars. The waitress came and took our drink order. Around 6:15 we received our drinks. We then put in an appetizer of Spinach and artichoke dip. Around 6:35 the dip came and we ordered another round of drinks. The dip was horrible. Tasted like it had just come out of the microwave. OK no worries again we were ordering drinks. Around 7:15 PM a nice woman in a pink dress came over and informed us that if we wanted to order dinner that we had to put it in now. We told her we were good with just the drinks and the appetizer. She said not a problem, just wanted to give us a heads up because the cabana is reserved for 8 PM. At 7:20 a woman in a white blouse came over and asked if we would move out of the cabana we had reserved and move to a table so they could accommodate guests that would be ordering dinner. We told her there is nothing on the menu that will work for us. She insisted we order entrees if we wanted to sit there. We explained that this was never told to us when making the reservation, I asked for her to show us the policy that states this, she couldn't. She said again we need to order entrees. I told her no we're good and she should pay more attention to the cabana next to us that had 12 people at it. TWELVE PEOPLE. While she stood right there and asked me where this was happening. I told her to turn around as this was happening within 5 feet of where she was standing. We left at 7:59 with a bill of over $175. We left the waitress a nice $60 tip as she apologized up and down for the way we were treated. Went and had a nice dinner at another establishment not too far from the beach with again great views. They were very accommodating in serving us great food and drinks. 1. You're not supposed to have parties of 6 or more at the same table 2. The cabanas are not socially distant. You can touch the person in the next cabana. See my photo. We were at the closest one to the ocean. Look how close the next party was to us. Like the old AT&T commercial I could reach out and touch someone. 3. Inform the people that make the reservations of your "policies" and have it posted. We will never come back. You should really be ashamed of how you treat your guests. For a place with such a beautiful view of the ocean and sunset, your manager needs some training on customer service as her level of professionalism was ugly. Please explain to me who was going to be put in out cabana for 30 minutes at best while you were trying to move us to a "table with great views of the ocean"? During these times of covid you should be thankful for every customer that walks through that door and helps keep the lights on and helps pay your employees, while other little places in your area can't be open and are struggling to survive... read more

Fair drink and fair food in the area. I tried the wings and fries. They were not that bad. The drinks were great too. More importantly, they have CLEAN RESTROOMS. The public restrooms in this area is like a trash can which is full of filthy stuff and broken doors. However, the service was a little bit slow since the management was a mess. There was no problem with our server. She was nice. The problem was the management. This place has a balcony bar on the beach, but they require customers to wear shoes and shirts on. I understand shirts and shoes should be wore if dined inside. This is a beach balcony. Requiring shoes and shirts is just a weird rule.
