Picked up birria tacos to go that I ordered online. They never give enough dipping sauce, but the employee gave me extra. The flavors were exquisite, fresh, seasoned well, and a good portion. $24 for 4 tacos with rice on the side. There are some tables out front but it's mostly an order at counter and take your food to go place.

Went on a very busy weekend. Food took a bit but was delicious. Can't say much regarding the staff bc we didn't really interact with them. Area wasn't the cleanest but ppl were coming and going so fast you just grabbed a seat where you could. Would eat her again maybe when not so busy. Was wondering why it was so expensive at first but didn't realize how much food you get. Could've shared with someone and been good.

Visiting DC for the week and decided to pick this up. Multiple people recommended this place to me, so I checked it out for myself! Ordered the Bonaire, Street Corn, and Chips and Salsa. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious! Highly recommend the Bonaire burrito - the chicken was very flavorful and made the burrito shine. The Street Corn was outstanding! Would most definitely go back.

Huge taco filled with birra taco was great, and grilled perfect. Wish i had one more taco, and thought the consommé was pretty good.

Solid burrito. Love how they serve it with a salad....a tasty salad at that. Both their shrimp and steak burritos have so much flavor. This is just a clutch late night meal when you have to find something quick. Update on the rice: The rice in the burrito is nice and soft and seasoned.

I was in the area for a Yelp Elite event and was craving a quesadilla so I had to pull up. Surfside has always done right, except this one time (the rice). It tasted a bit stale which is pretty unusual for them. I ordered the steak quesadilla, street corn, a side of yellow rice and guacamole. Aside from the ride, everything tasted great! The steak quesadilla was flavorful and had just the right amount of ingredients. I tried one of the sauces they had at the condiment station and am hooked. It was a pineapple hot sauce? Sooo good. Though the menu prices are a bit high, you definitely get a nice portion size for the main items (ie quesadillas). I definitely recommend checking this spot out if you haven't done so already!

The vibe at this place was immaculate- super tropical and easygoing w/ fun decor and an impressive array of hot sauces. I got a breakfast burrito and was somewhat impressed- the eggs were flavorful and the hash brown is a delightful touch. I'm just personally not big on peppers and onions being large chunky pieces- i think they taste much better diced up in a burrito like this. i felt this generally took away from the taste. I appreciated the side of rice but I do think it was strange there weren't beans to accompany it. I'd come back and get something else for sure- the elote looks pretty banging!

I'll come over here as a guilty pleasure. It's delicious. Strawberry lemonade is on point same with the chips and queso.

*DOORDASH REVIEW* Loved! First of all, I ordered @3am lol. But was surprisingly impressed by the quality of the food. Carne asada was quality beef cut in large chunks. The street corn is *chefs kiss*

This was highly recommended and 24hr operating, but I was far from satisfied. I thought it was a place you could sit in but I sadly had to eat in the car. Sure, it was cooked well, served hot, and nice servers, but the quesadillas were a bit bland and nothing at all special for the $18 cost. Not worth it imo.

Good Mexican food is hard to find on the east coast. The menu felt like it was made by someone who had been to Mexico on vacation once and tried to recreate the food with their own taste influence. Overall it was a good burrito, but nothing to write home about. If I weren't a West coaster used to great quality Mexican food, this place probably gets 4 stars. I wish the sauce that was poured on my salad would've been drizzled onto the burrito, because that was delicious. Quick service and nice outdoor spot to eat and relax for a bit.

Does this place have margaritas? Google is saying yes but some of the reviews say no?

No, there is no margaritas. You have to consider this place is a fast food kind of thing and it's surrounded with bunch of bars and clubs, is more like a cravings and munchies type of thing.

The decor is simple, no table clothes or frills but it does live up to 'fine cuisine' with excellent food and presentation (another subtle touch is if you leave the table, you return to a nicely folded napkin). We got nearly everything on the menu including all the desserts and Mexican hot chocolate (yum, lightly spicy and piping hot!) . As others have said their guacamole is excellent...do check the charges though bc they added salsa and chips to the tab which we did not order (they removed). Also, the first order of guac came with big bowl of chips, but none with the second order of guac- not a problem though because you do not go hungry. Portions are quite generous. We even tried the ants which was a fun novelty

There was a rose and a candle on the table (vday vibes) and we also received a vday specials menu. We landed on queso fundido to start and a cocktail each: prickly pear marg for her, a viva mexico for me. After fundido'ing it up, we ordered our entrees. We're simple folks it was a 2 carne asada tacos, 1 al pastor taco, 1 pescado taco, and 1 chicken quesadilla. Unfortunately we weren't bold enough to try the insectos. Food was great, drinks were great, service was great. You can pay your tab via Toast for no additional fee which was convenient. There are two, single use bathrooms in there too. Overall, solid spot.

It used to be the spot for me and my friends to grab a quick bite and everything about it was exceptional: who can say no to super affordable yet authentic street tacos served on paper plates. Sadly, it closed. Last night, I think I stumbled across a taco spot to finally take the wheel from our dearly missed El Chilango. Taqueria Al Lado is very no frills and a tiny spot, but it has tacos that make your heart sing. My friend recommended the Al Pastor so I got that with a chicken taco as well. Both were super flavorful, fatty, but really fresh and well balanced. The key here is simplicity and they do it perfectly. Each taco was about $4 or $5 if I remember correctly, so it's a great spot to grab food if you're trying to ball on a budget. We got the guac, too, which was good but not life changing; the fresh chips, however, were spot on. As far as service goes, we went on a Friday and it was super busy, but there were plenty of servers if we needed something (just had to be vocal). I will definitely be coming back!
