It was my first time visiting the Beaumont area, and I decided to try out Thai food for the first time at Surin Thai Restaurant. We were quickly seated, and the staff was very welcoming. We decided to go with the pad see ew and crispy pork, two dishes that caught our eye. After placing our order, we didn't have to wait long--about 10-15 minutes--before the food was brought out. Customer service was great! A woman sat us down and took our drink order. A male came to take out order. Amazing, fresh, delicious, and worth the stop. Let me start by saying, if you walk in and Zindy or someone working tells you it might be a little longer because they are busy, just stay and wait. They are very honest about time, always take care of their customers and make their food fresh. Their appetizers are amazing. We tried their fried calamari and the veggie eggrolls. Being the calamari snob I am, I can say theirs is delicious, tender, and the batter is spot on. The veggie eggrolls had a peppery finish on the veggies, while perfectly crisp on the outside. We got a hotpot of Tom Yum Soup with Pork. Pork was tender, the soup has a delicision flavor of sour and spice, but not too much of either, and the veggies inside were just enough. This could be a meal in itself. Entree's included Pad Thai noodles with beef, Massaman Curry with Chicken, Pineapple Curry with Pork, and Drunken Noodles. All I can say is wow! The flavors of each are delicious. Not overpowering with any one spice or flavor, but great spice level, overall a great taste on the palate. The meat is always tender. The portions are favorable and as a family we share it all. To finish, the Thai Iced Tea is delicious and like a dessert to finish off the meal. A perfect end to the meal. Overall, as with most businesses in the area, the seating inside is smaller and they can get busy fast. I am all for them being busy because it tells anyone coming in, including me, that the place is delicious and moves food regularly. That is a plus in my mind. My boyfriend and I stopped by after Coachella for a quick lunch because the traffic back to LA was awful and we were hungry. After searching for something other than fast food, we came across this restaurant. We were both so glad we stopped by here, because we got to experience one of the best Thai food we ever had. We ordered 2 Thai Coffee, Pad Thai with chicken, Massaman Curry (red curry with potato, onion, peanuts) with tofu, and Papaya Salad. We got everything with spicy level 3. When it comes to spicy food, I can be a baby but this spicy level was perfect for me. My bf also LOVES spicy food, and he thought it was spicy enough for him with a nice kick. When it comes to Thai food, I've learned pairing and combinations actually matter. I ask the server what goes well with my initial order, and then say yes to their recommendation. Tom Yum And Pad Kee Mow is a must-try! I should have ordered white rice as well. I will next time. Still think most thai restaurants in the US use way too much sugar. But can't blame them for trying to please the american palate. If this had a little less sugar, it would have been perfect. Still giving them a 5 because they're the best in the area. But tonight is very disappointed to learn that when purchasing a seven dollar side salad, they want to charge $2.50 for peanut dressing. I asked the owner if she deduct from the dressing I don't want and she said no we just charge $2.50 for that dressing. So she lost the sale of because she wanted to charge me for dressing. They serve you up quick and the food is well-packed -- they make sure that anything fried is ventilated so it doesn't get all sweaty and soggy gross. Definitely enjoyed the popcorn chicken and the pad see ew. I mean, I'm not holding a grudge against them because they took over the spot from one of my personal favorites -- Buffalo Spot.
