First we were visiting from-Tampa/St Pete and this place was suggested by and older relative because Bonita brunch is always packed (never been) --- This place is.... different you order at a counter and then they bring your food no servers- prices aren't terrible but the experience overall is lack luster to me- the vibe is definitely cafe over restaurant but if you want a simple direct experience and the same in flavor, come here. The food wasn't bad the French toast was tasty a bit inconsistent in texture but enjoyable. The eggs light, fluffy, and cheesy it also seemed like more than you would usually get- sausage was everything was B- minus to B Overall I probably wouldn't come back there are too many places specializing, innovating, and going above and beyond to repeat this experience. I'd say pretty forgettable or As the kids today say mid. 6.8/10 read more

Tucked away in the heart of downtown Bonita, this cafe has all potential to be a great hidden gem. I visited early on a Sunday morning and chose to sit outside, taking advantage of perfect spring weather before the summer heat sets in. There was plenty of outside seating and it seem they were starting to set up for live music.(we had left before it actually started) Parking advise if you're coming from old 41, there is more parking on after the cafe (on its East side.) A heads-up for weekend visitors: you'll be limited to the brunch menu, not the regular breakfast offerings. I ordered the smoked salmon on flatbread, which turned out to be more of a giant cracker than anything resembling a flatbread. The salmon itself was tasty, but the dish didn't come together in a satisfying way--ultimately, it was underwhelming. To drink, I had the sangria. It had a nice balance of flavor and just the right amount of fresh fruit to make it feel refreshing without being overly sweet. My friend went for the breakfast burrito, which looked promising when first arrived. But looks can be deceiving--it was very wet and left a mini puddle on the plate. We noticed other diners struggling with the same soggy situation. We finished with the strawberry and almond tart for dessert, and honestly, it saved the experience. The strawberries were vibrant and flavorful, and the almond flavor snuck in toward the end of each bite in the best way. It was balanced, fresh, and well-crafted. Overall, the brunch was just okay. While the atmosphere and dessert were standouts, the main dishes didn't quite deliver. I'd be curious to return and try dinner--this place might shine more in the evening. read more

There last night for the first time with friends who have gone there a few times. I'm a foodie and have to tell you, Was phenomenal!!! I looked at the menu and saw their signature dish. I ordered that. Mongolfiere of The Sea: (signature dish) Cassolette of Lobster, Shrimp, Cod & Scallops, Baked in a Curry-Ginger Coriander Cream Sauce Encased in a Puff Pastry. Don't miss this! One friend had the Old Fashioned Salmon: Fresh salmon snacked with cream and old fashion French mustard served with Basmati rice & sautéed vegetables. And the Salade Lyonnaise: Freshly cut Romaine, Bacon, Golden Pan Fried Crouton, Poached Egg with a mustard like dressing that is soo good!! We sat on the patio in back where the parallel to the small parking lot. The server Melissa was great. She was Helpful with any questions about the menu. Things were not rushed, timed perfectly. Have already mentioned this place to friends and will get back here soon. We live in Naples and was grateful to have heard of this gem from my friend. My family and I went to Survey Cafe today for breakfast and we loved it! The first item on the menu was "build your own biscuit "......OMG! Your choice of biscuit (flaky buttermilk) or various types of bread, a filling of your choice, etc. two of us opted for that with turkey, avocado and cheese.....it was outstanding! The other diner had the traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon and a croissant which was huge and delicious....the bacon was perfect. I have reviewed this lovely restaurant in the past. In the off season they're only open for breakfast and lunch. Their curried seafood dish that they serve at dinner "in season" is the best dish I have ever had. Today was our first trip there for breakfast. It was wonderful. Nice cappuccino and coffee. Nice selection of bagels, croissants, lox, omelettes, egg dishes and pastry. Prices are reasonable and worth it. It has a combination of quaint french cafe and old Florida vibe. Check it out. I had a lovely lunch with my sister and a friend. The patio is nicely decorated and shaded. I ordered the club sandwich. It was very tasty but a lot of bread. The three bean salad as a side was a good balance. My sister enjoyed her veggies wrap. Our friend ordered a breakfast item. She liked it but misunderstood sunny side up on the egg choice. She recommends doing like over easy next time as the center of her item was soupy or soft. The staff is uber friendly and helpful. I've been here before but this is the last time. Came here for breakfast and it was truly awful experience. Ordered breakfast and 2 lattes. It took 15 minutes to get the lattes and when we got them they were cold and not very good. To get the actual breakfast took 60 minutes sitting at our table. And that wasn't even the worst part - there was not even a hint of feeling bad about the weight - they actually made me feel bad for even asking where the food was. Imagine making homemade biscuits (which were the only decent thing) and then serving it with those little plastic smucker jellies. Was truly disappointing. The eggs were those yellow circle eggs. Not made to order. For the price was truly expecting great things from this French place. Almost $80 before tip, for 2 biscuits, 2 egg and cheese sandwiches, one wrap and one small fruit. Orange juice and apple juice cost over $5 each and came from the bottle. Nothing fresh here. The potential for this place is there with just a little effort. Unfortunately, we took our mom here on Mother's Day. The food was just not good. This how my $16 veggie quiche came out, charred on top and mushy in the middle. Dad and sister got BLTs and they used 3-5 pieces of bagged cut lettuce. Mom got the avocado toast with poached egg and it was bland. And the saddest part was the brown water! What a perfect addition to Bonita Springs! Love the French infuence here and the casual style of the place. I came here with my husband and his family for breakfast and there was some light music and a very relaxed, casual vibe. Nothing fancy, local family, and please expect service to be a bit slow so they can make you something fresh. DO NOT expect to come here in a hurry or without patience. Went to Survey Cafe last night for dinner based on other reviews. We were very disappointed. When we entered, we weren't even sure we were in the right place. It was as though we weren't expected. When we were seated on the patio, which is lovely, it was practically empty. We wondered right away if there was something wrong about the place. It was a Saturday night and virtually no one was there. The bread was served cold. I can buy better bread at the grocery store. The escargot was mushy and not much garlic. The chicken normandy was fine but nothing special. The signature seafood dish was not good at all. The pastry topping was crisp but the lobster and cod were tough. Nothing had a great deal of seasoning. Honestly, I think everything served was old and out of the freezer, not at all fresh as we expected. We won't be back to even try them for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. read more

Just OK as far as coffee goes. They only had one size coffee cup. Their menu listed two percent milk as well as whole milk but only whole milk was available for my latte. Lovely looking outside sitting area on the east side of the building. The wonderful girl at the register did her best - however the guy/cook on his phone for the whole time made it challenging for him to do ANYTHING. We decided to try the Survey Café after a visit to nearby Everglades Wonder Gardens. Owners, Paul and Sophie converted this family house to a breakfast and lunch facility with a little French influence. Parking were available on both side of the house. There are plenty of outside seating but this morning was little on cool side so we opted stay in door. The ambience is quaint and relax. A book on Monet's work was available near one of entrance. You order the food by the counter; you select the table and they serve. A simple system! Wife ordered the Survey Breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, bacons and croissant. The scrambled eggs and bacons were perfectly done and the croissant were soft and flaky. I opted for the French Crepes with strawberry, banana, honey and syrup with Nutella. What a crepe, it was delectable! The French Vanilla coffee was so good, I went for a second cup! Today, live music was available in the outside area! Adorable little place with a great menu and tons of outdoor seating. Three of us came for a lunch and everyone loved their food. We had a tuna sandwich, veggie Tartine and oatmeal with fruit cup. Lots of healthy & veggie options. Everything was fresh and generous. They have sparkly lights outdoors for evening dining and serve cocktails, live music Saturday nights. Indoor seating may be a little limited. You order indoors at a counter and they bring the food to you. It would be nice to have tableside ordering and ditch the plastic cups, other than that, everything was completely lovely! Very friendly service! We will definitely be back! It was very disappointing in culmination due to the fact that I love to support the Bonita community and local businesses but this was not acceptable. I have been here for lunch before and found it be average but today I called for takeaway food so we could have a picnic in the nearby park. When I got there the staff was arguing so much it was exceptionally uncomfortable to be a patron. The food we got was horrible. We ordered two grilled cheeses (only one of which was cut) and was basically a Kraft single between two pieces of bread. My sandwich (photographed) was not even assembled properly or cut or even grilled... The other sandwich we ordered was supposed to be turkey, baguette, cheese, lettuce and tomato was actually just turkey on bread. Highly disappointing given the price and service we experienced. My spouse and I went to have breakfast. We both had the avocado toast and coffee. It was 45.00 for a thick piece of bread that was not toasted. Avocado was spread so thin you could hardly taste it. The eggs were poached well. The coffee was not worth 7.00 either. The building was dirty. We were redirected to set some where else because they had a problem with ants.
