Simply amazing. I hired them for my cocktail hour for my wedding in Fallbrook on 10/22, and it was definitely a highlight for my guests. I assumed the rolls were going to be on the small side but they were what you'd expect from a restaurant! Everyone was talking about how good the sushi was, where some thought it was the main dinner service. I dealt with Jilita for several months and she was so patient as we worked through our logistics. I have to start saying that I am not a sushi fan. I only eat sushi when my sushi eater girlfriends invite me for that type of cuisine during my birthdays (go figure!:). Nonetheless, as I am very open minded and eat everything or at least try, I have to also say that I loved the customer service, approach and quality of Sushi Affair Catering. I have enjoyed their nicely crafted pieces in front of your eyes at various events, most recently at the Mingei Fusion at the museum with same name in Balboa Park. Fish was super fresh, presentation was awesome and you could repeat as much as you wanted. As sushi trays are very clean, I think it is a good approach to any party instead of other less healthy and messy food. read more

I can't begin to express how wonderful our experience was with Sushi Affair! They recently catered our daughter's 18th birthday/Graduation party. Nestor and Vic were absolutely amazing! They came two hours before the event and worked so hard and diligently from that moment until the moment they left! The quality of the sushi was amazing, from the delicious Uni (!) to the incredible and creative rolls and mouthwatering sashimi and nigiri, it's some of the best we've ever had. Hiring Sushi Affair was our first experience having caterers come to the house and remain as part of the party. We are used to ordering food, having it delivered and then trying to figure out what to do with the cleanup. Victor and Nestor were amazing - they showed up early to set up in our kitchen and were ready to go when our first guests arrived. They kept the sushi coming throughout the evening for our 10 year anniversary party and then cleaned up after themselves and left us with enough supplies to feed the few stragglers who were late to the event. I left my 5 year old son in the kitchen with them while I cleaned up the house a bit and when I came back, they were all talking about Minecraft and having a great time. We had a few minutes to chat before the party started and I learned that these two guys who are whizzes with a sushi platter are also brainiacs with day jobs that they love just as much as their catering jobs. It made for a really tasty and enjoyable night. BTW - they bring their own flower decorations, too, so if you're worried about the right centerpiece for the sushi making area, don't! Sushi Affair came to the rescue when I was looking for sushi chefs that would be willing to help my son with his high school senior project. Let me start off by saying my son was working with a different catering company which did not work out last minute. So he was under the gun with trying to meet project deadlines etc. Needless to say, he was in a state of panic trying to figure out what to do in order to keep on schedule with this project. I remembered Sushi Affair from an event hosted by PIFA (Pacific Islander Festival Assoc) a few years back. They received rave reviews at that event! I decided to give them a call to see what I could work out. I have to say, from the start, the interaction with Jililta was great. She was so helpful and accommodating after I explained my son's situation. We were able to work well within my budget and plan a menu and set up two private classes with a personal sushi chef. Chef Nes and Chef Vic both came to our house to hold the classes for my son and 3 other family members. We had so much fun I don't even know where to begin! Both chefs were very professional, but as time passed it seemed like they were family who came over for Sunday dinner! A lot of humor and good stories. On a personal level, they were fantastic, 2 thumbs up! And on a professional level I would have to rate them 5 Stars! We learned how to make the CA roll, Crunchy roll, Philly roll, Veggie Roll, Rainbow roll and Spicy Tuna roll. All ingredients were full of flavor and fresh! The vegetables were nice and crunchy. Simply delicious! I feel like Chefs Vic and Nes went above and beyond the scope of the classes. They knew these classes were set up for my son's senior project, so they showed him how to make rolls that were not even part of the menu. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and generosity.
